11 इस्राएल क सबहिं लोग हेब्रोन नगर मँ दाऊद क लगे गएन। उ पचे दाऊद स कहेन, “हम तोहार ही रक्त-माँस अही। ²बीते दिन मँ, जब साऊल राजा रहा तब भी हमार तू जुद्ध मँ सन्चालन किहा। हे दाऊद, यहोवा तोहसे केहस, ‘तू मोरे लोगन क गड़रिया रहब्या। तू मोरे लोगन क ऊपर सासक होब्या।’”

³इस्राएल क सबहिं प्रमुखन दाऊद क लगे हेब्रोन नगर मँ आएन। दाऊद हेब्रोन मँ ओन प्रमुखन क संग यहोवा क सामने एक समझौता किहस। प्रमुखन दाऊद क अभिसेक किहन। इ तरह उ इस्राएल क राजा बन गवा। यहोवा समूएल दुआरा इ बचन दिहे रहा कि इ होइ।

दाऊद यरूसलेम क कब्जा किहस

⁴दाऊद अउ इस्राएल क सबहिं लोग यरूसलेम नगर क गएन। यरूसलेम ओन दिनन यबूस कहा जात रहा। उ नगर मँ रहइवाले यबूसी कहे जात रहेन। ⁵उ नगर क निवासी लोग दाऊद स कहेन, “तू हमारे नगर क प्रवेस नाहीं कइ सकत्या।” किन्तु दाऊद ओन लोगन क पराजित किहस। दाऊद सिय्योन क किले पइ कब्जा कइ लिहस। इ जगह “दाऊद नगर” बना।

⁶दाऊद कहेस, “उ मनई जउन यबूसी लोगन पइ आक्रमण क संचालन करी, मोर पूरी फउज क सेनापति होइ।” एह बरे योआब आक्रमण क संचालन किहस। योआब सरूयाह क पूत रहा। योआब सेना क सेनापित होइ गवा।

⁷तब दाऊद किला मँ आपन महल बनाएस। इहइ कारण अहइ ओकर नाउँ दाऊद नगर पड़ा। ⁸दाऊद किले क चारिहुँ कइँती नगर बसाएस। उ एकॉ मिल्लो स नगर क चारिहुँ कइँती की दीवार तलक बसाएस। योआब नगर क दूसर भागन क मरम्मत किहेस। ⁹दाऊद लगातार महान बनता गवा। सर्वसक्तीमान यहोवा ओकरे संग रहा।

¹⁰दाऊद क बिसिस्ठ बीरन क ऊपर क प्रमुखन क इ सूची अहइ: इ सबइ बीर दाऊद क संग ओकरे राज्ज मँ बहोत सक्तीसाली बन गएन। उ पचे अउ इस्राएल क सबहिं लोग दाऊद क सहायता किहन अउर ओका राजा बनाएन। इ ठीक वइसा भवा जइसा परमेस्सर बचन दिहे रहा।

¹¹इ दाऊद क बीर मनइयन क सूची अहइ:

यासोबाम हक्मोनी लोगन मँ स रहा। यसोबाम राजा क बिसिस्ठ फउज क प्रमुख रहा। यसोबाम अपने भाले क उपयोग तीन सौ मनइयन स जुद्ध करइ बरे किहस। उ एक ही दाईं ओन तीन सौ मनइयन क मार डाएस।

¹²एलीआज़ार दोदो क पूत, अदोही स रहा। एलीआज़ार तीन बीरन मँ स एक रहा। ¹³एलीआज़ार पसदम्मीम मँ दाऊद क संग रहा। पलिस्ती लोग उ जगह पइ जुद्ध करइ आएन। उ जगह पइ एक जौ स भरा खेत रहा। उहइ जगह, जहाँ इस्राएली लोग पलिस्ती लोगन स भागे रहेन। ¹⁴किन्तु उ सबइ तीन बीर उ खेत क बीच रुक गएन अउर पलिस्तियन स लड़ेन अउ ओनका हराइ डाएन अउर इ तरह यहोवा इस्राएलियन क बड़ी जीत दइ दिहस।

¹⁵एक दाई, दाऊद, अदुल्लाम गुफा क लगे रहा अउर पलिस्ती फउज खाले रपाईम क घाटी मँ रही। तीस बीरन मँ स तीन बीरन उ गुफा तलक, लगातार रेंगत भए दाऊद क लगे पहोंचेन।

¹⁶दूसर अवसर पइ, दाऊद किले मँ रहा, अउर पलिस्ती सेना क एक समूह बेतलेहेम मँ रही। ¹⁷एक बार दाऊद कहेस, “कास कउनो मोका बेतलेहेम नगर क दुआर क लगे क कुआँ स थोड़ा पानी लाइके पिलातेन!” ¹⁸तब तीन बीरन पलिस्ती सेना क बीच जुद्ध करत भए अपना रास्ता बनाएन अउर नगर-दुआर क निचके बेतलेहेम क कुएँ स पानी लिहन। तीनहुँ बीरन दाऊद क लगे पानी लइ गएन। दाऊद पानी पिअइ स इन्कार कइ दिहस। उ उ पानी क यहोवा बरे भेंट क रूप मँ बाहेर उड़ेर दिहस। ¹⁹दाऊद कहेस, “परमेस्सर, मइँ इ पानी क नाहीं पी सकत। एन मनइयन मोरे बरे इ पानी क लिआवइ मँ अपनी जिन्नगी क खतरे मँ डाएन। एह बरे जदि मइँ इ पानी क पिअत हउँ तउ इ ओनकर खून पिअइ क समान होइ।” एह बरे दाऊद उ जल क पिअइ स इन्कार किहस। तीनहुँ बीर उ तरह क बहोत स बहादुरी क काम किहन।

दूसर बीर जोधा

²⁰योआब क भाई, अबीसै, तीन बीरन क प्रमुख रहा। उ अपने भाले स तीन सौ मनईयन स लड़ा अउर ओनका मार डाएस। अबीसै तीन बीरन क तरह मसहूर होइ गवा। ²¹अबीसै उ तीनहुँ बीरन स दुइगुना जियादा प्रसिद्ध रहा। उ ओनकर प्रमुख होइ गवा, जदपि उ तीनहुँ बीरन मँ स नाहीं रहा।

²²यहोयादा क पूत बनायाह, कबजेल क एक बीर जोधा रहा। उ एक सक्तीसाली मनइ क पूत रहा। बनायाह अनेक बीरता क काम किहेस। उ मोआब देस क दुइ सर्वोत्तम सिपाहियन क मार डाएस। एक दिन जब बर्फ गिरत रही, उ जमीन क अन्दर एक ठु माँदे मँ घुसा अउर हुवाँ एक सेर क मार डाएस। ²³बनायाह मिस्र क एक मनई क मार डाएस। उ मनई लगभग साढ़े सात फिट ऊँचा रहा। उ मिस्र क मनई क लगे एक बहोत बड़का अउ भारी भाला रहा। इ बुनकर क करघे क बिसाल खम्भे क नाईं रहा अउर बनायाह क लगे सिरिफ एक ठु लाठी रही। किन्तु बनायाह मिस्री स भाला छोर लिहस। मुला बनायाह मिस्री स भाले क छीन लिहेस। बनायाह मिस्री मनई क भाले क उपयोग किहेस अउर ओका मार डाएस। ²⁴इ सबइ कार्य रहेन जेनका योहयादा क पूत बनायाह किहस। बनायाह तीन बीरन क तरह प्रसिद्ध भवा। ²⁵बनायाह तीस बीरन मँ सब स जियादा मसहूर रहा, मुला उ तीनहुँ बीरन मँ स नाहीं रहा। दाऊद बनायाह क अपने अंगरच्छकन क प्रमुख चुनेस।

तीस बीरन

²⁶इ सबइ राजा क बिसिस्ठ फउज मँ स रहेन:

असाहेल, योआब क भाई,

एल्हानान, दोदो क पूत बेतलेहेम नगर क रहा,

²⁷हरोरी लोगन मँ स सम्मोत,

पलोनी लोगन मँ स हेलेस;

²⁸इक्केस क पूत, ईरा, ईरा तकोई नगर क रहा,

अनातोत नगर क अबीएजेर;

²⁹होसती लोगन मँ स सिब्बके,

अहोही स ईलै;

³⁰नतोपाई लोगन मँ स महरै;

बाना क पूत हेलेद, हेलेद नतोपाई लोगन मँ स रहा;

³¹सीबै क पूत इतै, इतै बिन्यामीन क गिबा नगर स रहा,

पिरातोनी लोगन मँ स बनायाह;

³²गास घाटियन स हूरै;

अराबा लोगन मँ स अबीएल;

³³बहूरीमा लोगन मँ स अजमावेत;

इथ्री लोगन मँ स गारेब,

⁴¹हित्ती लोगन मँ स ऊरिय्याह;

अहलै क पूत जाबाद;

⁴²सीजा क पूत अदीना, सीजा रूबेन क परिवार समूह स रहा। (अदीना रूबेन क परिवार समूह क प्रमुख रहा। परन्तु उ भी अपने संग क तीस बीरन मँ स एक रहा।);

⁴³माका क पूत हानान;

मेतेनी लोगन मँ स योसापात;

⁴⁴असतारोती लोगन मँ स उज्जिय्याह;

होताम क पूत सामा अउर यीएल, होताम अरोएरी लोगन मँ स रहा।

⁴⁵सिम्री क पूत यदीएल;

तीसी लोगन स योहा, योहा यदीएल क भाई रहा;

⁴⁶महवीमी लोगन मँ स एलीएल, एलनाम क पूत यरीबै अउर योसब्याह;

मोआबी लोगन मँ स यित्मा;

大卫做以色列人的王

11 以色列人都聚集到希伯仑来见大卫，对他说：“我们是你的骨肉同胞。 ²从前，即使扫罗做王的时候，率领以色列人出征打仗的仍是你。你的上帝耶和华也曾应许让你做祂以色列子民的牧者和首领。” ³以色列的长老都到希伯仑见大卫王，大卫与他们在耶和华面前立约，他们膏立大卫做以色列的王，这应验了耶和华借撒母耳所说的话。 ⁴大卫和以色列众人来到耶路撒冷，即耶布斯。那时耶布斯人住在那里。 ⁵耶布斯人对大卫说：“你攻不进来。”可是，大卫攻取了锡安的堡垒，即后来的大卫城。 ⁶大卫说：“谁先攻打耶布斯人，谁就做元帅。”洗鲁雅的儿子约押首先进攻，于是就做了元帅。 ⁷大卫占据了堡垒，因此那堡垒就叫大卫城。 ⁸大卫又从米罗开始，在四围修建城墙，其余的部分由约押修建。 ⁹大卫日渐强盛，因为万军之耶和华与他同在。

大卫的勇士

¹⁰以下是大卫手下众勇士的统领，他们和以色列百姓竭力拥护大卫做王，正如耶和华对以色列的应许。 ¹¹大卫的勇士有哈革摩尼人雅朔班，他是三勇士之首，曾在一次交战中挥矛刺死了三百人。 ¹²其次是亚合人朵多的儿子以利亚撒，他是三勇士之一。 ¹³他曾在巴斯·达闵与大卫一起抵抗非利士人。那里有一块大麦田，以色列人战败逃跑， ¹⁴他们却坚守阵地，奋勇杀敌。耶和华使以色列人大获全胜。 ¹⁵一次，三十位勇士中有三位到亚杜兰洞附近的磐石那里见大卫，当时非利士的军队驻扎在利乏音谷。 ¹⁶那时大卫留守在堡垒里，非利士人的驻军在伯利恒。 ¹⁷大卫渴了，说：“真想有人打一些伯利恒城门旁的井水给我喝！” ¹⁸那三位勇士就冲过非利士人的营地，到伯利恒城门旁的井打水，带回来给大卫。大卫却不肯喝，他把水浇奠在耶和华面前， ¹⁹说：“我的上帝啊！这三人冒死去打水，这些水就像是他们的血，我决不能喝。”因此，大卫不肯喝。这是三勇士的事迹。

²⁰约押的兄弟亚比筛是这三个勇士的统领，他曾挥矛刺死三百人，在三勇士中出了名， ²¹最有声望，因此做了他们的统领，只是不及前三位勇士。

²²甲薛人耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅是位勇士，做过非凡的事。他曾杀死摩押的两个勇猛战士，也曾在下雪天跳进坑中杀死一头狮子， ²³还曾杀死一个两米多高的埃及巨人。当时埃及人拿着织布机轴般粗的长矛，比拿雅只拿着棍子迎战，他夺了对方的长矛，用那矛刺死了对方。 ²⁴这是耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅的事迹，他在这三个勇士中出了名， ²⁵比那三十个勇士更有声望，只是不及前三位勇士。大卫派他做护卫长。

Chapter 11

David Becomes King.^[a] ¹All of Israel gathered before David in Hebron and they said, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh. ²Moreover, in times past, even when Saul was the king, you led Israel out and brought them in. The Lord, your God, said to you, ‘You will shepherd my people Israel. You will be the ruler of my people Israel.’ ” ³When all of the elders of Israel came to the king in Hebron, he made a covenant before the Lord with them at Hebron. They anointed David as king over Israel, fulfilling the word of the Lord that had been spoken by Samuel.

David Conquers Jerusalem. ⁴David and all of Israel went to Jerusalem, that is, Jebus. The Jebusites were the inhabitants of that land. ⁵The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You will never enter.” Nevertheless, David captured the citadel of Zion, that is, the City of David. ⁶David had said, “Whoever leads the attack on the Jebusites will be the commander-in-chief.” Joab, the son of Zeruiah, led it so he became the commander.

⁷David lived in the citadel, and thus it was called the City of David. ⁸He built up the city around it, from Millo to the surrounding walls. Joab repaired the rest of the city. ⁹David’s power grew and grew, for the Lord of hosts was with him.

¹⁰David’s Brave Warriors. These were the leaders of David’s brave warriors. They made him and his kingdom strong, with all of Israel making him king, according to the word of the Lord about Israel. ¹¹^[b]This is the list of David’s brave warriors: Ishbaal, a Hachmonite, was the leader of the captains. He raised up his spear against three hundred men at one time and he slew them.

¹²After him there was Eleazar, the son of Dodo, who was one of the three mighty men. ¹³He was with David at Pas-dammim when the Philistines gathered there for battle. It was a field that was planted with barley, and the people fled before the Philistines. ¹⁴They took their stand in the middle of the field. They defended it and slew the Philistines, for the Lord brought about a great deliverance.

¹⁵Now three of the thirty captains came down to the cave of Adullam to be with David, while the army of the Philistines was camped in the Valley of Rephaim. ¹⁶David was in the stronghold, and there was a Philistine outpost in Bethlehem. ¹⁷David longed for water so he said, “Oh that you would give me some water to drink from the well that is at the gate of Bethlehem.” ¹⁸The Three broke through the lines of the Philistine army and drew water from the well at the gate to Bethlehem. They took it and brought it to David, but David would not drink it. He poured it out before the Lord. ¹⁹He said, “Far be it from me, my God, that I should do such a thing, that I would drink the blood of these men, for they risked their lives to bring it back.” Therefore, he would not drink it.

These are the deeds of the Three brave warriors. ²⁰Abishai, the brother of Joab, was the leader of the Three. He raised up his spear against three hundred men and he slew them. He was the most famous of the Three. ²¹He was twice as honored as the Three, for he was their captain, even though he was not one of the Three.

²²Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was a brave warrior who performed many deeds. He was from Kabzeel. He slew two of Moab’s mightiest men. He also descended into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. ²³He also slew a very tall Egyptian who was five cubits tall. The Egyptian had a spear in his hand that was as big as a weaver’s beam. He attacked him with his staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand and slew him with his own spear. ²⁴These were the deeds of Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada. He was as famous as the Three Brave Warriors. ²⁵He was more greatly honored than any of the Thirty,^[c] but he did not belong to the Three. David assigned him to be in charge of his bodyguard.

²⁶The brave warriors were: Asahel, the brother of Joab; Elhanan, the son of Dodo from Bethlehem; ²⁷Shammoth the Harorite; Helez the Pelonite; ²⁸Ira, the son of Ikkesh from Tekoa; Abiezer from Anathoth; ²⁹Sibbecai the Hushathite; Ilai the Ahohite; ³⁰Maharai the Netophathite; Heled, the son of Baanah the Netophathite; ³¹Ithai, the son of Ribai from Gibeah in Benjamin; Benaiah the Pirathonite; ³²Hurai, from the Wadi of Gaash; Abiel the Arbathite; ³³Azmaveth the Baharumite; Eliahba the Shaalbonite; ³⁴the sons of Hashem the Gizonite; Jonathan, the son of Shagee the Hararite; ³⁵Ahiam, the son of Sacar the Hararite; Eliphal, the son of Ur; ³⁶Hepher the Mecherathite; Ahijah the Pelonite; ³⁷Hezro the Carmelite; Naarai, the son of Ezbai; ³⁸Joel, the brother of Nathan; Mibhar, the son of Hagri; ³⁹Zelek the Ammonite; Naharai the Berothite, the armor-bearer of Joab, the son of Zeruiah; ⁴⁰Ira the Ithrite; Gareb the Ithrite; ⁴¹Uriah the Hittite; Zabad, the son of Ahlai; ⁴²Adina, the son of Shiza the Reubenite, who was the leader of the Reubenites and the Thirty with him; ⁴³Hanan, the son of Maacah; Joshaphat the Mithnite; ⁴⁴Uzzia the Ashterathite; Shama and Jeiel, the sons of Hotham the Aroerite; ⁴⁵Jediael, the son of Shimri; his brother Joha the Tizite; ⁴⁶Eliel the Mahavite; Jeribai and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam; Ithmah the Moabite; ⁴⁷Eliel; Obed; and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
