耶戶被立為以色列王
9 以利沙先知叫來一個先知，吩咐他：「你要束上腰帶，拿著這瓶膏油去基列的拉末。 2 到了以後，你去找寧示的孫子、約沙法的兒子耶戶，帶他離開同僚，進入密室， 3 把這瓶膏油倒在他頭上，告訴他，『耶和華說，我膏立你為以色列王。』然後，你要馬上開門逃走，不可遲延。」
4 於是，那位年輕的先知啟程前往基列的拉末。 5 到了那裡，他看見眾將領正坐在一起，便說：「將軍，我有話對你說。」耶戶說：「你想對我們哪一個說話？」他說：「將軍啊，我有話對你說。」 6 耶戶便站起來，隨他進入屋裡。他將膏油倒在耶戶頭上，說：「以色列的上帝耶和華說，『我膏立你做我以色列子民的王。 7 你要殺你主人亞哈的全家，這樣我就可以為我的僕人——眾先知以及其他僕人報仇，他們被耶洗別殺害。 8 亞哈全家必滅亡，我要從以色列剷除他家中所有的男子——不論奴隸還是自由人， 9 使他家像尼八的兒子耶羅波安家和亞希雅的兒子巴沙家一樣。 10 耶洗別的屍體必在耶斯列的田間被狗吃，無人埋葬。』」說完這話，那位年輕的先知便開門逃跑了。

以色列王約蘭被殺
14 寧示的孫子、約沙法的兒子耶戶背叛了約蘭。當時，約蘭率領全體以色列人在基列的拉末防禦亞蘭王哈薛， 15 他與哈薛交戰受傷後，回到耶斯列養傷。耶戶對屬下說：「如果你們要我做王，就不要讓任何人逃出城去耶斯列報信。」 16 於是，耶戶駕車去了耶斯列，因為約蘭在耶斯列養傷，猶大王亞哈謝也在那裡探望他。

21 約蘭下令備車。以色列王約蘭和猶大王亞哈謝各乘自己的戰車去見耶戶。他們和耶戶在耶斯列人拿伯的田裡相遇。 22 約蘭問他：「耶戶，你為平安而來嗎？」耶戶答道：「國中到處都是你母親耶洗別的偶像和邪術，怎能平安呢？」 23 約蘭調轉車頭逃跑，向亞哈謝大喊：「亞哈謝，他反了！」 24 耶戶張弓搭箭，射中約蘭的後背，箭穿透他的心臟，他倒斃在車上。 25 耶戶對將領畢甲說：「你去把他丟在耶斯列人拿伯的田裡。還記得嗎？你我一起駕車跟隨他父親亞哈的時候，耶和華曾預言亞哈的事說， 26 『我昨天看見拿伯和他兒子們被殺，我必使你在這塊田裡受到報應，這是耶和華說的。』現在你照耶和華的話，把他丟在這塊田裡吧。」
27 猶大王亞哈謝見狀，就沿著通往伯哈干的道路逃跑。耶戶在後面追，並大喊：「射死他！」他們在以伯蓮附近的姑珥坡射傷了亞哈謝。他逃到米吉多後，傷重身亡。 28 他的臣僕用車把他的屍體運回耶路撒冷，安葬在大衛城他的祖墳裡。
29 在以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭執政第十一年，亞哈謝登基做猶大王。
耶洗別被殺
30 耶戶去了耶斯列。耶洗別聞訊，便梳頭描眉，向窗外眺望。 31 耶戶進城時，耶洗別高聲喊道：「謀殺主人的心利啊，平安嗎？」 32 耶戶抬頭望著窗口，喊道：「誰擁護我？誰？」有兩三個太監從窗口往外看他。 33 耶戶說：「把她扔下來！」那幾個太監便把耶洗別扔下去，血濺在牆壁上和馬匹身上。耶戶駕車軋過她的身體， 34 進入王宮，大吃大喝，然後吩咐部下說：「把那受咒詛的婦人埋了，她畢竟是王的女兒。」 35 他們出去埋葬她，卻只找到她的頭骨、手掌和腳， 36 便回去稟告耶戶。耶戶說：「這正應驗耶和華藉祂僕人提斯比人以利亞說的話，『狗必在耶斯列的田間吃耶洗別的肉， 37 耶洗別的屍體必像耶斯列田間的糞便，無人能認出那是耶洗別。』」

Възцаряване на Ииуй в Израил
9 (A)Тогава пророк Елисей повика един от пророческите ученици и му каза: Препаши кръста си, вземи в ръката си този съд с миро и иди в Рамот-галаад;
2 (B)и като стигнеш там, потърси в същото място Ииуй, син на Йосафат, Намесиевия син; тогава влез при него, отдели го от братята му и го въведи в една вътрешна стая.
3 (C)После вземи съда с мирото, излей го върху главата му и кажи: Така казва Господ: Помазах те за цар над Израил. Тогава отвори вратата и бягай, без да се забавиш.
4 И така, младият пророк отиде в Рамот-галаад.
5 Като стигна, военачалниците седяха заедно. Той каза: Имам да ти казвам нещо, о, военачалнико. Ииуй попита: Към кого от всички нас? А той отвърна: Към тебе, военачалнико.
6 (D)Ииуй стана и влезе в къщата. Тогава пророкът изля мирото на главата му и му каза: Така казва Господ, Израилевият Бог: Помазах те за цар над Господния народ, над Израил.

13 (J)Тогава побързаха и като взеха всеки дрехата си, сложиха ги под Ииуй на върха на стълбата, засвириха с тръба и казаха: Ииуй се възцари.
Ииуй убива цар Йорам
14 Така Ииуй, син на Йосафат, Намесиевия син, организира заговор против Йорам. (А Йорам с целия Израил пазеше Рамот-галаад от сирийския цар Азаил;

21 (M)Тогава Йорам каза: Впрегнете. И впрегнаха колесницата му. И Израилевият цар Йорам и Юдейският цар Охозия излязоха, всеки в колесницата си, отидоха да посрещнат Ииуй и го намериха в нивата на езраелеца Навутей.
22 Йорам, като видя Ииуй, попита: С мир ли идваш, Ииуй? А той отговори: Какъв мир, докато са толкова много блудствата и магьосничествата на майка ти Езавел?
23 Тогава Йорам обърна юзда и побегна, като казваше на Охозия: Предателство, Охозия!
24 А Ииуй дръпна лъка си с пълна сила и улучи Йорам между плещите му така, че стрелата прониза сърцето му и той се прегърби в колесницата си.
25 (N)Тогава Ииуй каза на военачалника си Видкар: Вземи и го хвърли в онази част от нивата, която принадлежи на езраелеца Навутей; защото си спомнѝ, че когато аз и ти яздехме след баща му Ахаав, Господ произнесе против него това пророчество:
26 (O)Не видях ли вчера кръвта на Навутей и кръвта на синовете му, казва Господ? И в тази част от нивата ще ти въздам, казва Господ. И сега го вдигни и го хвърли в тази част според Господнето слово.
Убийството на юдейския цар Охозия
27 (P)А Юдейският цар Охозия, като видя това, побегна през пътя на градинската къща. Ииуй се спусна след него и каза: Поразете и този в колесницата. И го поразиха в нагорнището на Гур, близо до Ивлеам; Охозия избяга в Магедон и умря там.
28 Слугите му го докараха на колесница в Йерусалим, погребаха го в гроба му с бащите му в Давидовия град.
29 А Охозия се беше възцарил над Юдея в единадесетата година на Йорам, Ахаавовия син.
Избиване на дома на Ахаав
30 (Q)Така Ииуй дойде в Езраел. Езавел, като чу, начерни клепачите на очите си, накити главата си и надникна през прозореца.

34 (S)Ииуй влезе и яде, и пи. След това каза: Идете сега и вижте тази проклетница и я погребете, защото е царска дъщеря.
35 Тогава отидоха да я погребат, но не намериха нищо от тялото ѝ освен черепа, краката и дланите на ръцете.
36 (T)И когато се върнаха и му съобщиха това, той каза: Това е словото, което Господ говорѝ чрез слугата Си, тесвиеца Илия: В градския край на Езраел кучетата ще ядат месата на Езавел;
37 (U)и трупът на Езавел в градския край на Езраел ще бъде като гной по лицето на полето, така че няма да кажат: Това е Езавел.

9 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:
2 And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;
3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
4 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead.
5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.
6 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the Lord, even over Israel.
7 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, at the hand of Jezebel.
8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:
9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:
10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.
12 And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13 Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.
14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.
15 But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.
16 So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.
17 And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?
18 So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.
19 Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
20 And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.
21 And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
23 And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.
24 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
25 Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the Lord laid this burden upon him;
26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the Lord; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the Lord. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the Lord.
27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28 And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?
32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
34 And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.
35 And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the Lord, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
37 And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.
