¹¹他們讚美和稱謝，向耶和華歌唱，說：“耶和華是至善的，他向以色列人所施的慈愛永遠長存。”他們讚美耶和華的時候，眾人都大聲呼喊，因為耶和華殿的根基已經奠定。 ¹²很多年老的祭司、利未人和族長，曾經見過先前的殿，眼見這殿的根基再次奠立，就放聲大哭，但也有許多人高聲歡呼， ¹³以致分不清到底是歡呼聲或哭聲。因為眾人都大聲呼喊，這聲音在很遠的地方也可以聽見。

Ezra 3:11-13

King James Version

¹¹And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

¹²But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:

¹³So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

New International Version

¹¹With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:

“He is good;
his love toward Israel endures forever.”^(A)

And all the people gave a great shout^(B) of praise to the Lord, because the foundation^(C) of the house of the Lord was laid. ¹²But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the former temple,^(D) wept^(E) aloud when they saw the foundation of this temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy. ¹³No one could distinguish the sound of the shouts of joy^(F) from the sound of weeping, because the people made so much noise. And the sound was heard far away.
