உழவன்-விதை பற்றிய உவமை
(மத்தேயு 13:1-9; லூக்கா 8:4-8)
4 இயேசு மறுபடியும் கடற்கரையோரத்தில் போதிக்கத் தொடங்கினார். ஏராளமான மக்கள் இயேசுவைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டார்கள். ஆகையால் இயேசு படகில் ஏறி ஏரிக்குள் சென்றார். எல்லா மக்களும் ஏரிக்கரையில் நின்றுகொண்டனர். 2 இயேசு படகில் இருந்த வண்ணம் மக்களுக்குப் போதிக்கத் தொடங்கினார். அவர் மக்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும் பொருட்டு பல உவமைகளைப் பயன்படுத்தினார்.
3 அவர் சொன்னார், “கேளுங்கள், ஓர் உழவன் தன் விதையை விதைக்கச் சென்றான். 4 உழவன் விதைத்துக் கொண்டு இருக்கும்போது சில விதைகள் பாதையில் விழுந்தன. பறவைகள் வந்து அவற்றைத் தின்றுவிட்டுச் சென்றன. 5 சில விதைகள் பாறை போன்ற நிலத்தில் விழுந்தன. அதில் போதிய ஆழமான மண்ணில்லை. அதனால் அந்த விதைகள் வேகமாக முளைத்தன. 6 ஆனால் சூரியன் ஏற வெப்பத்தால் அவை கருகிவிட்டன. அவற்றுக்கு ஆழமான வேர் இல்லாததால் பிழைக்கவில்லை. 7 சில விதைகள் முட்புதர்களில் விழுந்தன. முட்புதர்கள் வளர்ந்து, விதைகள் முளைத்து வளராதபடி முடக்கிவிட்டன. எனவே, விதைகள் தானியங்களைத் தரவில்லை. 8 சில விதைகள் நல்ல நிலத்தில் விழுந்தன. விதைகள் அவற்றில் நன்றாக வளர ஆரம்பித்தன. அவை வளர்ந்து பலன் தர ஆரம்பித்தது. சில செடிகள் முப்பது தானியங்களையும், சில அறுபது தானியங்களையும், சில நூறு தானியங்களையும் தந்தன,”

10 பிறகு இயேசு மக்களைவிட்டுத் தொலைவாகச் சென்றார். பன்னிரண்டு சீஷர்களும் மற்றும் அவரைச் சுற்றி இருந்தவர்களும் அவர் பயன்படுத்தும் உவமைகளைப் பற்றிக் கேட்டார்கள்.
11 இயேசு, “உங்களால் மட்டுமே தேவனின் இராஜ்யத்தைப் பற்றிய இரகசிய உண்மைகளை அறிந்து கொள்ளமுடியும். ஆனால் மற்ற மக்களால் அறிந்துகொள்ள இயலாது. எனவே நான் அவர்களுக்கு உவமைகளின் மூலம் கூறுகிறேன். 12 நான் இதனைச் செய்கிறேன். ஏனென்றால்:
“‘அவர்கள் பார்ப்பார்கள், பார்ப்பார்கள். ஆனால் உண்மையில் ஒருபோதும் பார்க்க முடியாது.

விதைபற்றிய உவமை-விளக்கம்

13 இயேசு தன் சீஷர்களிடம், “உங்களால் இந்த உவமையைப் புரிந்துகொள்ள முடிகிறதா? முடியாவிடில் மற்ற உவமைகளை நீங்கள் எப்படி புரிந்துகொள்ளப் போகிறீர்கள்? 14 இதில் உழவன் என்பவன் தேவனுடைய போதனைகளை மக்களிடம் நடுபவனே. 15 சில நேரங்களில் அப்போதனை வழிப்பாதையில் விழும். சிலர் தேவனின் போதனைகளைக் கேட்பார்கள். ஆனால் சாத்தான் வந்து அப்போதனை வளராதபடி எடுத்துச் சென்றுவிடுவான்.
16 “பாறைகளில் விழுந்த விதைகளைப்போலச் சிலர் காதில் போதனை விழுகின்றன. அவர்கள் அவற்றை மகிழ்ச்சியோடு ஏற்றுக்கொள்வர். 17 ஆனால் அவர்கள் அப்போதனைகள் அவர்களது வாழ்வில் ஆழமாகச் செல்ல அனுமதிக்கமாட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் அவற்றைக் கொஞ்ச காலமே வைத்திருப்பர். ஆனால் அந்தப் போதனையை ஏற்றதால் கஷ்டமோ, பிறர் மூலம் துன்பமோ வரும்போது அவர்கள் அவற்றை உடனே கைவிட்டு விடுவர்.
18 “இன்னும் சிலரோ, முட்செடிகளில் விழுந்த விதைகளைப்போன்று போதனையைக் கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றனர். 19 வாழ்க்கைத் துன்பங்களும், பண ஆசைகளும் பிற எல்லாவிதமான காரியங்களின் மீதுள்ள விருப்பங்களும் இவர்களிடம் போதனைகள் வளராமல் செய்துவிடுகின்றன. எனவே இவர்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் போதனை எந்தவிதமான பலனையும் உண்டாக்குவதில்லை.
20 “மற்றவர்கள் நல்ல நிலத்தில் விழுந்த விதைகளைப் போன்று இருக்கின்றனர். அவர்கள் போதனையைக் கேட்டு, ஏற்றுக்கொள்கின்றனர். அவர்கள் முப்பது மடங்காகவும், சிலர் அறுபது மடங்காகவும், சிலர் நூறு மடங்காகவும் பலன் தருகின்றனர்” என்றார்.
இருப்பதைப் பயன்படுத்துதல்

21 மேலும் இயேசு, “நீங்கள் விளக்கை எடுத்து மரக்காலுக்கு (பாத்திரத்துக்கு) அடியிலோ, படுக்கையின் அடியிலோ மறைத்து வைப்பீர்களா? இல்லை. நீங்கள் விளக்கை மேஜையின் மீதே வைப்பீர்கள். 22 மறைக்கப்படுகிற எந்தக் காரியமும் வெளியே வரும். எல்லா இரகசியங்களும் தெரிவிக்கப்படும். 23 கேட்க முடிந்தவர்கள், நான் சொல்வதைக் கவனித்துக் கேளுங்கள். 24 நீங்கள் கேட்கிறவற்றைப் பற்றிக் கவனமாய் சிந்தியுங்கள். நீங்கள் எப்படிக் கொடுக்கிறீர்களோ அந்தப்படியே தேவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பார். ஆனால் நீங்கள் கொடுப்பதைக் காட்டிலும் அதிகமாக தேவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பார். 25 ஏற்கெனவே உள்ளவன் மேலும் பெற்றுக்கொள்வான். எவனிடம் மிகுதியாக இல்லையோ அவனிடமிருந்து இருக்கும் சிறு அளவும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும்.”
விதை பற்றிய உவமை
26 பிறகு இயேசு, “தேவனுடைய இராஜ்யமானது ஒரு மனிதன் நிலத்தில் விதைக்கும் ஒரு விதையைப் போன்றது. 27 விதையானது வளரத்தொடங்கும். அது இரவும் பகலும் வளரும். அந்த மனிதன் விழித்திருக்கிறானா அல்லது தூங்குகிறானா என்பது முக்கியமல்ல. விதை வளர்ந்து கொண்டே இருக்கும். விதை எவ்வாறு வளர்கிறது என்பதும், அந்த மனிதனுக்குத் தெரியாது. 28 எவ்வித உதவியும் இல்லாமல் அந்த நிலம் விதையை வளர்க்கிறது. முதலில் விதையில் இருந்து செடி முளைக்கிறது. பிறகு கதிர், அதன் பிறகு கதிர் முழுதும் தானியங்கள். 29 தானியம் விளைந்ததும் மனிதன் அவற்றை அறுவடை செய்கிறான். இது அறுவடைக் காலம்” என்றார்.
கடுகு விதையின் உவமை

30 மேலும் இயேசு, “தேவனுடைய இராஜ்யம் எத்தகையது என்று உங்களுக்குப் புரிய வைக்க நான் எந்த உவமையைப் பயன்படுத்துவேன்? 31 தேவனுடைய இராஜ்யம் ஒரு கடுகு விதையைப் போன்றது. கடுகு மிகச் சிறிய விதைதான். அதை நிலத்தில் விதைக்கிறீர்கள். 32 ஆனால் இதை நீங்கள் விதைத்த பிறகு அது வளர்ந்து, உங்கள் தோட்டத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்துச் செடிகளையும் விட பெரியதாகும். அதன் கிளைகள் மிகப் பெரிதாக விரியும். காட்டுப் பறவைகள் அதன் கிளைகளில் கூடுகட்டித் தங்கமுடியும். அத்தோடு அவைகளை வெயிலில் இருந்தும் பாதுகாக்கும்” என்றார்.
33 மக்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும் பொருட்டு இது போன்ற பல உவமைகளையும் இயேசு பயன்படுத்தினார். அவர்களுக்குப் புரிகிற வகையில் அவர் கற்றுத்தந்தார். 34 இயேசு எப்பொழுதும் உவமைகளை உபயோகித்து மக்களுக்குப் போதித்தார். தன் சீஷர்களோடு தனியாக இருக்கும்போது, எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர்களுக்கு விவரித்துச் சொன்னார்.
புயலை அமர்த்துதல்

35 அன்று மாலையில் இயேசு தன் சீஷர்களிடம், “என்னோடு வாருங்கள். இக்கடலைக் கடந்து அக்கரைக்குச் செல்வோம்” என்றார். 36 இயேசுவும் அவரது சீஷர்களும் அங்கே மக்களை விட்டுவிட்டுச் சென்றனர். இயேசு ஏற்கெனவே இருந்த படகிலேயே அவர்கள் ஏறிச் சென்றனர். அவர்களோடு வேறு பல படகுகளும் இருந்தன. 37 மோசமான காற்று வீச ஆரம்பித்தது. அதனால் பெரும் அலைகள் எழும்பி, படகின் வெளியேயும், உள்ளேயும், தாக்க ஆரம்பித்தன. படகில் நீர் நிறையத் தொடங்கியது. 38 இயேசு கப்பலின் பின்பகுதியில் தலையணையில் தலை வைத்துப் படுத்துத் தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். சீஷர்கள் அவரிடம் போய் அவரை எழுப்பினார்கள். அவர்கள், “போதகரே, உங்களுக்கு எங்களைப் பற்றிய அக்கறை இல்லையா? நாங்கள் மூழ்கும் நிலையில் உள்ளோம்” என்றனர்.
39 இயேசு எழுந்து புயலுக்கும், அலைகளுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டார். “இரையாதே, அமைதியாய் இரு” என்று இயேசு ஆணையிட்டார். உடனே புயல் நின்றது. கடலும் அமைதியானது.
40 இயேசு தம் சீஷர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் ஏன் பயப்படுகிறீர்கள்? உங்களுக்கு இன்னும் விசுவாசம் இல்லையா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
41 சீஷர்கள் பெரிதும் அஞ்சினர். அவர்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்து, “இவர் எத்தகைய மனிதர்? காற்றும் கடலும் கூட இவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதே” என்றனர்.

A parábola do semeador
4 Mais uma vez, Jesus começou a ensinar à beira-mar. Em pouco tempo, uma grande multidão se juntou ao seu redor. Então ele entrou num barco e sentou-se, enquanto o povo ficou na praia. 2 Ele os ensinou contando várias histórias na forma de parábolas, como esta:
3 “Ouçam! Um lavrador saiu para semear. 4 Enquanto espalhava as sementes pelo campo, algumas caíram à beira do caminho, e as aves vieram e as comeram. 5 Outras sementes caíram em solo rochoso e, não havendo muita terra, germinaram rapidamente, 6 mas as plantas logo murcharam sob o calor do sol e secaram, pois não tinham raízes profundas. 7 Outras sementes caíram entre espinhos, que cresceram e sufocaram os brotos, sem nada produzirem. 8 Ainda outras caíram em solo fértil e germinaram, cresceram e produziram uma colheita trinta, sessenta e até cem vezes maior que a quantidade semeada”. 9 Então ele disse: “Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça com atenção!”.
10 Mais tarde, quando Jesus estava sozinho com os Doze e os outros que estavam reunidos ao seu redor, perguntaram-lhe qual era o significado das parábolas.
11 Ele respondeu: “A vocês é permitido entender o segredo[a] do reino de Deus, mas uso parábolas para falar aos de fora, 12 de modo que:
‘Mesmo que vejam o que faço,
não perceberão,
e ainda que ouçam o que digo,
não compreenderão.
Do contrário, poderiam voltar-se para mim,
e ser perdoados’”.[b]
13 Então Jesus disse: “Se vocês não entendem o significado desta parábola, como entenderão as demais? 14 O lavrador lança sementes ao anunciar a mensagem. 15 As sementes que caíram à beira do caminho representam os que ouvem a mensagem, mas Satanás logo vem e a toma deles. 16 As que caíram no solo rochoso representam aqueles que ouvem a mensagem e, sem demora, a recebem com alegria. 17 Contudo, uma vez que não têm raízes profundas, não duram muito. Assim que enfrentam problemas ou são perseguidos por causa da mensagem, cedo desanimam. 18 As que caíram entre os espinhos representam outros que ouvem a mensagem, 19 mas logo ela é sufocada pelas preocupações desta vida, pela sedução da riqueza e pelo desejo por outras coisas, não produzindo fruto. 20 E as que caíram em solo fértil representam os que ouvem e aceitam a mensagem e produzem uma colheita trinta, sessenta ou até cem vezes maior que a quantidade semeada”.
A parábola da lâmpada
21 Em seguida, Jesus lhes perguntou: “Alguém acenderia uma lâmpada e a colocaria sob um cesto ou uma cama? Claro que não! A lâmpada é colocada num pedestal, de onde sua luz brilhará. 22 Da mesma forma, tudo que está escondido será revelado, e tudo que está oculto virá à luz. 23 Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça com atenção!”.
24 Então acrescentou: “Prestem muita atenção ao que vão ouvir. Com o mesmo padrão de medida que adotarem, vocês serão medidos, e mais ainda lhes será acrescentado. 25 Pois ao que tem, mais lhe será dado; mas do que não tem, até o que tem lhe será tirado”.
A parábola da semente que cresce
26 Jesus também disse: “O reino de Deus é como um lavrador que lança sementes sobre a terra. 27 Noite e dia, esteja ele dormindo ou acordado, as sementes germinam e crescem, mas ele não sabe como isso acontece. 28 A terra produz as colheitas por si própria. Primeiro aparece uma folha, depois se formam as espigas de trigo e, por fim, o cereal amadurece. 29 E, assim que o cereal está maduro, o lavrador vem e o corta com a foice, pois chegou o tempo da colheita”.
A parábola da semente de mostarda
30 Jesus disse ainda: “Como posso descrever o reino de Deus? Que comparação devo usar para ilustrá-lo? 31 É como uma semente de mostarda plantada na terra. É a menor das sementes, 32 mas se torna a maior de todas as hortaliças, com ramos tão grandes que as aves fazem ninhos à sua sombra”.
33 Jesus usou muitas histórias e ilustrações semelhantes para ensinar o povo, conforme tinham condições de entender. 34 Na verdade, só usava parábolas para ensinar em público. Depois, quando estava sozinho com seus discípulos, explicava tudo para eles.
Jesus acalma a tempestade
35 Ao anoitecer, Jesus disse a seus discípulos: “Vamos atravessar para o outro lado do mar”. 36 Com ele a bordo, partiram e deixaram a multidão para trás, embora outros barcos os seguissem. 37 Logo uma forte tempestade se levantou. As ondas arrebentavam sobre o barco, que começou a encher-se de água.
38 Jesus dormia na parte de trás do barco, com a cabeça numa almofada. Os discípulos o acordaram, clamando: “Mestre, vamos morrer! O senhor não se importa?”.
39 Jesus despertou, repreendeu o vento e disse ao mar: “Silêncio! Aquiete-se!”. De repente, o vento parou, e houve grande calmaria. 40 Então Jesus lhes perguntou: “Por que estão com medo? Ainda não têm fé?”.
41 Apavorados, os discípulos diziam uns aos outros: “Quem é este homem? Até o vento e o mar lhe obedecem!”.

The Parable of the Sower(A)
4 And (B)again He began to teach by the sea. And a great multitude was gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was on the land facing the sea. 2 Then He taught them many things by parables, (C)and said to them in His teaching:
3 “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds [a]of the air came and devoured it. 5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no [b]crop. 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
9 And He said [c]to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
The Purpose of Parables(D)
10 (E)But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to (F)know the [d]mystery of the kingdom of God; but to (G)those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that
(H)‘Seeing they may see and not perceive,
And hearing they may hear and not understand;
Lest they should turn,
And their sins be forgiven them.’ ”
The Parable of the Sower Explained(I)
13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 (J)The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the (K)cares of this world, (L)the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, [e]accept it, and bear (M)fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
Light Under a Basket(N)
21 (O)Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? 22 (P)For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. 23 (Q)If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. (R)With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. 25 (S)For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
The Parable of the Growing Seed
26 And He said, (T)“The kingdom of God is as if a man should [f]scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and (U)grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth (V)yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately (W)he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
The Parable of the Mustard Seed(X)
30 Then He said, (Y)“To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? 31 It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; 32 but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.”
Jesus’ Use of Parables
33 (Z)And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, (AA)He explained all things to His disciples.
Wind and Wave Obey Jesus(AB)
35 (AC)On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, (AD)“Teacher, (AE)do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and (AF)rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, (AG)“Peace,[g] be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? (AH)How[h] is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
