யூதா மற்றும் எருசலேமுக்கு தேவனுடைய செய்தி

2 ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனான ஏசாயா யூதா மற்றும் எருசலேம் பற்றியச் செய்தியைப் பார்த்தான்.

2 கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயம் மலையின் மேல் இருக்கும்.
    இறுதி நாட்களில், அம்மலை அனைத்து குன்றுகளையும்விட உயரமாக இருக்கும்.
    அனைத்து நாடுகளிலும் உள்ள ஜனங்கள் தொடர்ச்சியாக அங்கு வருவார்கள்.
3 ஏராளமான ஜனங்கள் அங்கு போவார்கள்.
    அவர்கள், “நாம் கர்த்தருடைய மலைக்குப்போவோம் நாம் யாக்கோபின் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப்போவோம்.
பின் தேவன் நமக்கு வாழும் வழியைக் கற்றுத்தருவார்.
    நாம் அவரைப் பின்பற்றுவோம்” என்பார்கள்.

தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய போதனைகளும் செய்தியும் சீயோன் மலையிலுள்ள எருசலேமில் துவங்கி,
    உலகம் முழுவதும் பரவும்.
4 பிறகு, தேவனே அனைத்து நாடுகளிலும் உள்ள ஜனங்களுக்கும் நீதிபதியாவார்.
    தேவன் பலரது வாக்குவாதங்களை முடித்துவைப்பார்.
சண்டைக்காகத் தங்கள் ஆயுதங்களைப் பயன்படுத்துவதை ஜனங்கள் நிறுத்துவார்கள்.
    அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாள்களை கலப்பையின் கொழுவாகச் செய்வார்கள்.
    அவர்கள் தங்கள் ஈட்டிகளிலிருந்து செடிகளை வெட்டும் கருவிகளைச் செய்வார்கள்.
ஜனங்கள், மற்றவர்களோடு சண்டையிடுவதை நிறுத்துவார்கள்.
    ஜனங்கள் மீண்டும் யுத்தத்திற்குரிய பயிற்சி பெறமாட்டார்கள்.

5 யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்தினரே, வாருங்கள், நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வெளிச்சத்திலே நடக்க வேண்டும்! 6 நான் இவற்றை உங்களுக்குச் கூறுகிறேன். ஏனென்றால், நீங்கள் உங்களது ஜனங்களை விட்டுவிட்டீர்கள். உங்கள் ஜனங்கள் கிழக்கு நாட்டு ஜனங்களின் தவறான எண்ணங்களைத் தமக்குள் நிரப்பிக்கொண்டனர். நீங்கள் பெலிஸ்தியர்களைப்போன்று எதிர்காலத்தைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ள முயற்சி செய்கிறீர்கள். உங்கள் ஜனங்கள் அந்த விநோத எண்ணங்களை முழுமையாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டனர். 7 பிற நாடுகளிலுள்ள பொன்னாலும் வெள்ளியாலும் உங்கள் தேசம் நிறைந்துள்ளது. அங்கே ஏராளமான கருவூலங்கள் உள்ளன. உங்கள் தேசம் குதிரைகளாலும் நிறைந்துள்ளது. அங்கே ஏராளமான இரதங்களும் உள்ளன. 8 உங்கள் தேசம் ஜனங்கள் தொழுதுகொள்ளும் சிலைகளாலும் நிறைந்துள்ளது. ஜனங்கள் அந்த விக்கிரகங்களைச் செய்தனர். ஜனங்கள் அவற்றைத் தொழுதுகொண்டனர். 9 ஜனங்கள் மேலும், மேலும் மோசமானர்கள். ஜனங்கள் மிகவும் கீழானவர்கள். தேவன், அவர்களை நிச்சயமாக மன்னியாமல் இருப்பார்.

10 பாறைகளுக்கு பின்னால் மண்ணில் ஒளித்துக்கொள்ள போ! நீ கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டும். அவரது மகா வல்லமையிலிருந்து மறைய வேண்டும். 11 இறுமாப்புடையவர்கள் இனிமேல் இறுமாப்புடையவர்களாக இருக்கமாட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் அவமானத்தால் தரையளவு தாழ்த்தப்படுவார்கள். அப்போது, கர்த்தர் ஒருவரே உயர்த்தப்படுவார்.

12 கர்த்தர் ஒரு சிறப்பு நாளுக்குத் திட்டமிட்டார். அன்று, கர்த்தர் பெருமிதம் கொண்டவர்களையும் வீண் பெருமை பேசுபவர்களையும் தண்டிப்பார். பிறகு அவர்கள் முக்கியமற்றவர்களாக ஆக்கப்படுவார்கள். 13 அவர்கள் லீபனோனிலுள்ள உலர்ந்த கேதுரு மரங்களைப்போலிருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் பாசானில் உள்ள கர்வாலி மரங்களைப்போன்றவர்கள். ஆனாலும் தேவன் அவர்களைத் தண்டிப்பார். 14 அவர்கள் உயர்ந்த மலைகளையும் உயர்ந்த சிகரங்களையும் போன்றவர்கள். 15 அவர்கள் உயர்ந்த கோபுரங்களைப்போன்றவர்கள். பலமான சுவர்களைப்போன்றவர்கள். ஆனால் தேவன் அவர்களைத் தண்டிப்பார். 16 அவர்கள் தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்களைப்போன்றவர்கள். (அக்கப்பல்கள் முக்கியமான பொருட்களால் நிறைந்தவை) எனினும் தேவன் அவர்களைத் தண்டிப்பார்.

17 அப்போது, ஜனங்கள் பெருமை அடைவதை நிறுத்துவார்கள். இப்போது பெருமிதம் கொள்பவர்கள் தரைமட்டும் பணிவார்கள். அப்போது கர்த்தர் மட்டுமே உயரமாக நிற்பார். 18 அனைத்து (பொய்த் தெய்வங்கள்) சிலைகளும் அழிந்துபோகும். 19 ஜனங்கள் பாறைகளுக்குப் பின்னும் நிலப்பிளவுகளிலும் ஒளிந்துகொள்வார்கள். ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கும் அவரது பெரும் வல்லமைக்கும் பயப்படுவார்கள். பூமி நடுங்கும்படி கர்த்தர் எழுந்து நிற்கும்போது இது நடைபெறும்.

20 அப்போது, ஜனங்கள் தமது பொற் சிலைகளையும், வெள்ளிச் சிலைகளையும் தூர எறிவார்கள். (ஜனங்கள் அந்த உருவங்களைச் செய்து தொழுது கொண்டு வந்தனர்.) மூஞ்சூறுகளும் துரிஞ்சில்களும் வாழ்கிற நிலப்பிளவுகளுக்குள் ஜனங்கள் அந்தச் சிலைகளை எறிவார்கள். 21 பிறகு ஜனங்கள் பாறைப் பிளவுகளுக்குள் ஒளிந்துகொள்ளுவார்கள். அவர்கள் கர்த்தருக்கும் அவரது பெரும் வல்லமைக்கும் அஞ்சுவதால், அப்படிச் செய்வார்கள். பூமி நடுங்கும்படி கர்த்தர் எழுந்து நிற்கும்போது இது நடக்கும்.

22 உங்களைக் காப்பாற்றிக்கொள்ள மற்ற ஜனங்களை நம்புவதை நிறுத்தவேண்டும். அவர்கள் வெறும் ஜனங்களே. ஜனங்கள் மரிப்பார்கள். எனவே, அவர்கள் தேவனைப்போன்று வல்லமையுள்ளவர்கள் என்று எண்ணக்கூடாது.

The Mountain of Yahweh

2 The word that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:

2 And it shall happen in the future of the days
the mountain of the house[a] of Yahweh shall be established;
it will be among the highest[b] of the mountains,
    and it shall be raised from the hills.
All of the nations shall travel to him;
3     many peoples shall come.
And they shall say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh,
    to the house[c] of the God of Jacob,
and may he teach us part of his ways,
    and let us walk in his paths.”
For instruction shall go out from Zion,
    and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.
4 He shall judge between the nations
    and he shall arbitrate for many peoples.
They shall beat their swords into ploughshares
    and their spears into pruning hooks.
A nation shall not lift up a sword against a nation,
    and they shall not learn war again.

The Day of Yahweh

5 House of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of Yahweh.
6 For you have forsaken your people, house of Jacob,
because they are full[d] from the east,
    and of soothsayers like the Philistines,
    and they make alliances[e] with the offspring of foreigners.
7 And its land is filled with silver and gold,
    and there is no end to its treasures;
and its land is filled with horses,
    and there is no end to its chariots.
8 Its land is filled with idols;
    they bow down to the work of their[f] hands,
    to what they made with their[g] fingers.
9 So humanity is humbled;
    everyone is humbled,
    and you must not forgive them.
10 Enter into the rock
    and hide yourself in the dust
from the presence of the terror of Yahweh
    and from the glory of his majesty.
11 The haughty eyes[h] of humanity will[i] be brought low,
    and the pride of everyone will be humbled,
and Yahweh alone will be exalted on that day.
12 For there is a day for Yahweh of hosts
    against all of the proud and the lofty
    and against all that is lifted up and humble,[j]
13 and against all the lofty and lifted up cedars of Lebanon,
    and against all the large trees of Bashan,
14 and against all the high mountains,
    and against all the lofty hills,
15 and against every kind of high tower,
    and against every kind of fortified wall,
16 and against all the ships of Tarshish,
    and against all the ships of desire.
17 And the haughtiness of the people shall be humbled,
    and the pride of everyone shall be brought low,
and Yahweh alone will be exalted on that day.
18 And the idols shall pass away entirely,
19 and they will enter into the caves of the rocks
    and into the holes of the ground
from the presence of the terror of Yahweh
    and from the glory of his majesty
when he rises[k] to terrify the earth.
20 On that day humanity will throw away its idols of silver
    and its idols of gold,
        which they made for it to worship,
    to the rodents[l] and to the bats—
21 to enter into the crevices of the rocks
    and into the clefts of the crags
from the presence of the terror of Yahweh
    and from the glory of his majesty,
when he rises[m] to terrify the earth.
22 Turn away from humanity,
    who has breath in its nostrils,[n]
for by[o] what is it esteemed?

The Mountain of the Lord(A)

2 This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:(B)

2 In the last days(C)

the mountain(D) of the Lord’s temple will be established
    as the highest of the mountains;(E)
it will be exalted(F) above the hills,
    and all nations will stream to it.(G)

3 Many peoples(H) will come and say,

“Come, let us go(I) up to the mountain(J) of the Lord,
    to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
    so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law(K) will go out from Zion,
    the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.(L)
4 He will judge(M) between the nations
    and will settle disputes(N) for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
    and their spears into pruning hooks.(O)
Nation will not take up sword against nation,(P)
    nor will they train for war anymore.

5 Come, descendants of Jacob,(Q)
    let us walk in the light(R) of the Lord.

The Day of the Lord

6 You, Lord, have abandoned(S) your people,
    the descendants of Jacob.(T)
They are full of superstitions from the East;
    they practice divination(U) like the Philistines(V)
    and embrace(W) pagan customs.(X)
7 Their land is full of silver and gold;(Y)
    there is no end to their treasures.(Z)
Their land is full of horses;(AA)
    there is no end to their chariots.(AB)
8 Their land is full of idols;(AC)
    they bow down(AD) to the work of their hands,(AE)
    to what their fingers(AF) have made.
9 So people will be brought low(AG)
    and everyone humbled(AH)—
    do not forgive them.[a](AI)

10 Go into the rocks, hide(AJ) in the ground
    from the fearful presence of the Lord
    and the splendor of his majesty!(AK)
11 The eyes of the arrogant(AL) will be humbled(AM)
    and human pride(AN) brought low;(AO)
the Lord alone will be exalted(AP) in that day.(AQ)

12 The Lord Almighty has a day(AR) in store
    for all the proud(AS) and lofty,(AT)
for all that is exalted(AU)
    (and they will be humbled),(AV)
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon,(AW) tall and lofty,(AX)
    and all the oaks of Bashan,(AY)
14 for all the towering mountains
    and all the high hills,(AZ)
15 for every lofty tower(BA)
    and every fortified wall,(BB)
16 for every trading ship[b](BC)
    and every stately vessel.
17 The arrogance of man will be brought low(BD)
    and human pride humbled;(BE)
the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,(BF)
18     and the idols(BG) will totally disappear.(BH)

19 People will flee to caves(BI) in the rocks
    and to holes in the ground(BJ)
from the fearful presence(BK) of the Lord
    and the splendor of his majesty,(BL)
    when he rises to shake the earth.(BM)
20 In that day(BN) people will throw away
    to the moles and bats(BO)
their idols of silver and idols of gold,(BP)
    which they made to worship.(BQ)
21 They will flee to caverns in the rocks(BR)
    and to the overhanging crags
from the fearful presence of the Lord
    and the splendor of his majesty,(BS)
    when he rises(BT) to shake the earth.(BU)

22 Stop trusting in mere humans,(BV)
    who have but a breath(BW) in their nostrils.
    Why hold them in esteem?(BX)

2 And it shall come to pass in the acharit hayamim, that the Har Beis Hashem shall be established as the rosh of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all the Goyim shall flow unto it.

3 And amim rabbim (many peoples) shall come and say, Come ye, and let us go up to Har Hashem, to the Beis Elohei Ya’akov; and He will teach us of His Derakhim, and we will walk in His Orakhot; for out of Tziyon shall go forth the torah, and the Devar Hashem from Yerushalayim.

4 And He shall judge among the Goyim, and shall arbitrate for amim rabbim; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; Goy shall not lift up cherev against Goy, neither shall they train for milchamah any more.

5 O Bais Ya’akov, come ye, and let us walk in the Ohr Hashem.

6 Therefore Thou hast abandoned Thy people Bais Ya’akov, because they have found their fullness from Kedem (the East), and practice divination like the Pelishtim, and they clasp hands contentedly with yaldei nochrim (children of foreigners).

7 Their land also is full of kesef and zahav, neither is there any end of their otzarot; their land is also full of susim, neither is there any end of their merkevot:

8 Their land also is full of elilim; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own etzbe’ot have made;

9 And adam are humbled and ish are brought low; therefore forgive them not.

10 Enter into the Tzur, and hide thee in the aphar, for pachad Hashem, and for the hadar of His majesty.

11 The lofty looks of adam shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of anashim shall be brought low, and Hashem alone shall be exalted in Yom Hahu.

12 For the Yom L’Hashem Tzva’os shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

13 And upon all the cedars of Levanon, that are high and lofty, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

14 And upon kol heharim, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,

15 And upon every lofty migdal, and upon every fortified chomah (wall),

16 And upon all the oniyyot of Tarshish, and upon all the beautiful ships.

17 And the haughtiness of adam shall be humbled, and the pride of anashim shall be brought low; and Hashem alone shall be exalted in Yom Hahu.

18 And the elilim shall utterly pass away.

19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of aphar, for pachad (terror of) Hashem, and for the hadar of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake ha’aretz.

20 In Yom Hahu a man shall cast his elilei kesef, and his elilei zahav, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the crags before pachad (terror) of Hashem, and for the hadar of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake ha’aretz.

22 Cease ye from HaAdam, whose neshamah is in his nostrils: for of what account is he?
