40 Wie oft boten sie Gott die Stirn,
wie oft verletzten sie ihn tief, dort in der Wüste!
41 Immer wieder forderten sie ihn heraus,
sie beleidigten den heiligen Gott Israels.
42 Sie vergaßen seine Macht und den Tag,
an dem er sie von ihren Feinden erlöst hatte.
