Праведният и нечестивият
10 (A)Притчи Соломонови.
Мъдър син радва баща си.
А безумен син е тъга за майка си.
2 (B)Съкровища, придобити с неправда, не ползват;
а правдата избавя от смърт.
3 (C)Господ няма да остави да гладува душата на праведния;
но отхвърля злобното желание на нечестивите.
4 (D)Ленивата ръка докарва бедност,
а трудолюбивата ръка обогатява.
5 (E)Който събира лятно време, той е разумен син,
а който спи по жътва, той е син, който докарва срам.
6 (F)Благословения почиват върху главата на праведния;
а устата на нечестивите покриват насилие.
7 (G)Паметта на праведния е благословена,
а името на нечестивите ще изгние.
8 (H)Мъдрият по сърце приема заповеди;
а безумният бъбривец пада.
9 (I)Който ходи непорочно, ходи безопасно,
а който изкривява пътищата си, ще се познае.
10 (J)Който намигва с око, докарва скръб,
а безумният бъбривец пада.
11 (K)Устата на праведния са извор на живот,
а устата на нечестивите покриват насилие.
12 (L)Омразата повдига раздори,
а любовта покрива всички грешки.
13 (M)В устните на разумния се намира мъдрост,
а тоягата е за гърба на безумния.
14 (N)Мъдрите запазват знанието,
а устата на безумния са близка гибел.
15 (O)Имотът на богатия е неговият укрепен град,
а съсипия за бедните е тяхната бедност.
16 Заплатата на праведния е за живот,
а благоуспяването на нечестивия е за грях.
17 Който внимава в изобличението, е по пътя към живот,
а който пренебрегва мъмренето, се заблуждава.
18 (P)Който таи омраза, има лъжливи устни;
и който възгласява клевета, е безумен.
19 (Q)В многото говорене грехът е неизбежен;
а който въздържа устните си, е разумен.
20 Езикът на праведния е избрано сребро;
сърцето на нечестивите струва малко.
21 Устните на праведния хранят мнозина;
а безумните умират от нямане на разум.
22 (R)Благословението Господне обогатява;
и трудът на човека няма да прибави нищо.
23 (S)Злотворството е като забавление за безумния.
Така е и мъдростта на разумния човек.
24 (T)Това, от което се страхува нечестивият, ще го постигне;
а желанието на праведните ще се изпълни.
25 (U)Както отминава вихрушката, така и нечестивият изчезва;
а праведният има вечна основа.
26 Както е оцетът за зъбите и димът за очите,
така е ленивият за онези, които го пращат.
27 (V)Страхът от Господа прибавя дни,
а годините на нечестивите се съкращават.
28 (W)Надеждата на праведните е радост,
а очакването на нечестивите е напразно[a] .
29 (X)Пътят Господен е крепост за непорочния
и съсипване за онези, които вършат беззаконие.
30 (Y)Праведният никога няма да се поклати,
а нечестивите няма да населят земята.
31 (Z)От устата на праведния блика мъдрост,
а лъжливият език ще бъде отрязан.
32 Устните на праведния знаят приятното за слушане;
а устата на нечестивите говорят извратеното.

Contraste entre el justo y el malvado
10 Los proverbios de Salomón.
El hijo sabio alegra a su padre;
el hijo necio entristece a su madre.
2 Las riquezas malvadas no son de provecho,
pero la justicia libra de la muerte.
3 El Señor no deja que el justo pase hambre,
pero rechaza la iniquidad de los impíos.
4 Las manos negligentes llevan a la pobreza;
las manos diligentes conducen a la riqueza.
5 Cosechar en el verano es pensar con sensatez;
Dormirse en la cosecha es no tener vergüenza.
6 La cabeza del justo se cubre de bendiciones;
la boca de los impíos encubre violencia.
7 Recordar a los justos es una bendición;
nombrar a los impíos resulta repugnante.
8 El sabio de corazón hace suyos los mandamientos;
el necio de labios acabará por caer.
9 El de vida íntegra vive confiado;
el de conducta perversa será descubierto.
10 El que guiña el ojo acarrea tristeza;
el necio de labios será castigado.
11 La boca del justo es un manantial de vida,
pero la boca del impío disimula su violencia.
12 El odio despierta rencillas;
pero el amor cubre todas las faltas.(A)
13 La sabiduría se halla en labios del prudente;
la vara es para las espaldas del falto de cordura.
14 Los sabios atesoran el conocimiento;
la boca del necio es calamidad cercana.
15 El rico se atrinchera tras sus riquezas;
el pobre se refugia en su pobreza.
16 Con sus obras, el justo se gana la vida;
con sus frutos, el impío se dedica a pecar.
17 Acatar la corrección conduce a la vida;
desechar la reprensión es perder el camino.
18 Miente quien disimula su odio;
es un necio quien propaga calumnias.
19 En las muchas palabras no falta el pecado;
el que es prudente refrena sus labios.
20 La lengua del justo es plata escogida;
la mente impía es lo mismo que nada.
21 Con sus labios el justo dirige a muchos;
los necios mueren por falta de cordura.
22 La bendición del Señor es un tesoro;
nunca viene acompañada de tristeza.
23 El necio se divierte cometiendo maldades;
el sabio se recrea con la sabiduría.
24 El impío es víctima de sus grandes temores;
los justos reciben lo que más desean.
25 El malvado pasa como un torbellino,
pero el justo permanece para siempre.
26 El que envía a un mensajero perezoso
se echa vinagre en los dientes y humo en los ojos.
27 El temor del Señor alarga la vida,
pero los años del impío son acortados.
28 La esperanza de los justos es su alegría;
la esperanza de los impíos se esfuma.
29 El camino del Señor fortalece al perfecto,
pero destruye a los que hacen el mal.
30 El justo jamás tendrá un tropiezo,
pero los impíos no habitarán la tierra.
31 De la boca del justo mana sabiduría,
pero la lengua perversa será extirpada.
32 Los labios del justo dicen palabras gratas;
la boca de los impíos arroja perversidades.

but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
5 He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.(J)
8 The wise in heart accept commands,
but a chattering fool comes to ruin.(O)
9 Whoever walks in integrity(P) walks securely,(Q)
but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.(R)
10 Whoever winks maliciously(S) causes grief,
and a chattering fool comes to ruin.
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,(T)
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.(U)
12 Hatred stirs up conflict,
but love covers over all wrongs.(V)
13 Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning,(W)
but a rod is for the back of one who has no sense.(X)
17 Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,(AE)
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
18 Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips(AF)
and spreads slander is a fool.
19 Sin is not ended by multiplying words,
but the prudent hold their tongues.(AG)
20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
21 The lips of the righteous nourish many,
but fools die for lack of sense.(AH)
23 A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes,(AL)
but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.
28 The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.(AV)
29 The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil.(AW)
30 The righteous will never be uprooted,
but the wicked will not remain in the land.(AX)

10 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
3 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27 The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
