13 Когато Ефрем говореше с трепет Той се издигна в Израил; А когато съгреши чрез Ваала, Тогава умря.
2 А сега притурят на греховете си Като си правят леяни идоли от среброто си, Идоли според своето разбиране на Божеството, Но които всички са дело на художници; Сами те казват за тях: Нека целуват телците ония, които жертват.
3 За това, ще бъдат като утринния облак, и като росата, която рано прехожда, Като прах, който вихрушката отвява от гумното, и като дим, губещ се из комин.
4 Но аз съм Господ твой Бог от времето, когато беше ти в Египетската земя; Друг Бог освен Мене да не познаеш, Защото освен Мене няма спасител.
5 Аз съм познал ходенето ти в пуситнята, В много сухата земя.
6 Според както пасяха, така се наситиха; Наситиха се, и сьрцето им се надигна; За това Ме забравиха.
7 По тая причина станах за тях като лъв, Като леопард ще дебна на път;
8 Ще ги срещна като мечка, лишена от малките си, И ще разкъсам булото на сърцето им; Там ще ги погълна като лъвица; Див звяр ще ги разкъса.
9 Гибелно е за тебе, Израилю, Дето се противиш на Мене, твоята помощ.
10 А сега де е царят ти? - Та да те избави във всичките ти градове, - И съдиите ти, за които рече: Дай ми цар и началници?
11 Дадох ти цар в негодуванието си, И махнах го в гнева си.
12 Беззаконието на Ефрема е скътано, Грехът му запазен в скривалище.
13 Болки на раждаща жена ще го сполетят; Той е неразумен син, Не слиза на време в отвора на матката.
14 От силата на Шеол ще ги изкупя, От смърт ще ги избавя. О, смърт! де са язвите ти? О, Шеоле! де е погубителната ти сила? Колкото за това, аз няма да видя разкайване.
15 Ако и да е той плодовит повече от братята си, Пак източен вятър ще дойде, Вятър от Господа ще възлезе из пустинята, Та ще престане изворът му, И ще пресъхне кладенецът му; Неприятелят ще ограби всичките му съхранени отбрани съдове.
16 Самария ще носи наказанието си, Защото въстана против своя Бог; Ще паднат от меч, Младенците им ще бъдат разтрошени, И бременните им жени разпорени.

13 Când vorbea, Efraim răspândea groaza în Israel. Dar cum(A) a păcătuit cu Baal, a murit. 2 Şi acum ei păcătuiesc întruna, îşi fac chipuri turnate din argintul lor(B), idoli născociţi de ei, lucrare făcută de meşteri. Acestora le vorbesc ei şi, jertfind oameni, sărută viţei(C)! 3 De aceea vor fi ca norul de dimineaţă(D), ca roua care trece repede, ca pleava(E) suflată de vânt din arie, ca fumul care iese din horn. 4 Dar Eu(F) sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, din ţara Egiptului încoace. Tu cunoşti că nu este alt Dumnezeu(G) afară de Mine şi nu este alt Mântuitor afară de Mine. 5 Eu(H) te-am cunoscut în pustie, într-un pământ(I) fără apă. 6 Dar, când au dat de păşune(J), s-au săturat şi, când s-au săturat, inima li s-a umflat de mândrie, de aceea M-au uitat(K). 7 Eu M-am făcut ca un leu(L) pentru ei şi-i pândesc ca un pardos(M) pe drum. 8 Mă năpustesc asupra lor ca o ursoaică(N) lipsită de puii ei, le sfâşii învelişul inimii, îi înghit pe dată ca un leu şi fiarele câmpului îi vor face bucăţi. 9 Pieirea(O) ta, Israele, este că ai fost împotriva Mea, împotriva Celui ce te putea ajuta(P). 10 Unde este împăratul tău ca să te scape(Q) în toate cetăţile tale? Unde sunt judecătorii tăi despre care ziceai(R): ‘Dă-mi un împărat şi domni?’ 11 Ţi-am dat un împărat(S) în mânia Mea şi ţi-l iau în urgia Mea! 12 Nelegiuirea(T) lui Efraim este strânsă, păcatul lui este păstrat. 13 Îl vor apuca durerile naşterii(U); este un copil(V) neînţelept, căci nu poate să nască la vremea sorocită(W)! 14 Îi voi răscumpăra din mâna Locuinţei morţilor(X), îi voi izbăvi de la moarte. Moarte, unde(Y) îţi este ciuma? Locuinţă a morţilor, unde îţi este nimicirea? Căinţa(Z) este ascunsă de privirile Mele! 15 Oricât de roditor(AA) ar fi Efraim în mijlocul fraţilor săi, tot va veni vântul de răsărit(AB), se va stârni din pustie un vânt al Domnului, îi va usca izvoarele şi-i va seca fântânile; va jefui vistieria de toate vasele ei de preţ. 16 Samaria este pedepsită pentru că s-a răzvrătit(AC) împotriva Dumnezeului ei. Vor cădea ucişi de sabie(AD); pruncii lor vor fi zdrobiţi şi vor spinteca pântecele femeilor lor însărcinate.

The Lord’s Anger Against Israel
13 When Ephraim spoke, people trembled;(A)
he was exalted(B) in Israel.
But he became guilty of Baal worship(C) and died.
2 Now they sin more and more;
they make(D) idols for themselves from their silver,(E)
cleverly fashioned images,
all of them the work of craftsmen.(F)
It is said of these people,
“They offer human sacrifices!
They kiss[a](G) calf-idols!(H)”
3 Therefore they will be like the morning mist,
like the early dew that disappears,(I)
like chaff(J) swirling from a threshing floor,(K)
like smoke(L) escaping through a window.
4 “But I have been the Lord your God
ever since you came out of Egypt.(M)
You shall acknowledge(N) no God but me,(O)
no Savior(P) except me.
5 I cared for you in the wilderness,(Q)
in the land of burning heat.
6 When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud;(R)
then they forgot(S) me.(T)
7 So I will be like a lion(U) to them,
like a leopard I will lurk by the path.
8 Like a bear robbed of her cubs,(V)
I will attack them and rip them open;
like a lion(W) I will devour them—
a wild animal will tear them apart.(X)
9 “You are destroyed, Israel,
because you are against me,(Y) against your helper.(Z)
10 Where is your king,(AA) that he may save you?
Where are your rulers in all your towns,
of whom you said,
‘Give me a king and princes’?(AB)
11 So in my anger I gave you a king,(AC)
and in my wrath I took him away.(AD)
12 The guilt of Ephraim is stored up,
his sins are kept on record.(AE)
13 Pains as of a woman in childbirth(AF) come to him,
but he is a child without wisdom;
when the time(AG) arrives,
he doesn’t have the sense to come out of the womb.(AH)
14 “I will deliver this people from the power of the grave;(AI)
I will redeem them from death.(AJ)
Where, O death, are your plagues?
Where, O grave, is your destruction?(AK)
“I will have no compassion,
15 even though he thrives(AL) among his brothers.
An east wind(AM) from the Lord will come,
blowing in from the desert;
his spring will fail
and his well dry up.(AN)
His storehouse will be plundered(AO)
of all its treasures.
16 The people of Samaria(AP) must bear their guilt,(AQ)
because they have rebelled(AR) against their God.
They will fall by the sword;(AS)
their little ones will be dashed(AT) to the ground,
their pregnant women(AU) ripped open.”[b]
