Спасение Лута и разрушение городов Содома и Гоморры
19 Два ангела пришли в Содом к вечеру, и Лут сидел у ворот города. Увидев их, он встал им навстречу и поклонился лицом до земли.
2 – Господа мои, – сказал он, – пожалуйста, зайдите в дом вашего раба. Вы сможете помыть ноги и переночевать, а ранним утром продолжите свой путь.
– Нет, – ответили они, – мы переночуем на площади.
3 Но он так настаивал, что они последовали за ним и вошли в дом. Он приготовил для них еду, испёк пресные лепёшки, и они поели. 4 Но прежде чем они легли, все мужчины Содома, молодые и старые, окружили дом.
5 Они кричали Луту:
– Где люди, которые пришли к тебе вечером? Выведи их к нам, мы хотим развлечься с ними.
6 Лут вышел к ним и запер за собой дверь. 7 Он сказал:
– Нет, друзья мои, не делайте такого зла. 8 Послушайте, у меня есть две дочери, которые никогда ещё не были с мужчиной. Давайте я выведу их к вам, и делайте с ними, что хотите. Но не делайте ничего этим людям, которые пришли под защиту моего крова.
9 Они ответили:
– Прочь с дороги!
И сказали:
– Этот человек пришёл сюда как чужеземец, а теперь хочет быть нам судьёй! Мы поступим с тобой ещё хуже, чем с ними.
Они стали оттеснять Лута и подошли, чтобы выломать дверь. 10 Но гости, которые оставались внутри, протянули руки, втащили Лута в дом и заперли дверь. 11 А тех, кто были у двери дома, и молодых и старых, они поразили слепотой, так что те не могли найти дверь.
12 И гости сказали Луту:
– Кто ещё у тебя здесь есть – зятья, сыновья, дочери, кто-нибудь ещё в городе? Выведи их отсюда, 13 потому что мы собираемся уничтожить это место. Вопль к Вечному против этого народа так велик, что Он послал нас уничтожить его.
14 Лут вышел и сказал своим будущим зятьям, женихам его дочерей:
– Скорее, уходите отсюда: Вечный собирается уничтожить город!
Но те подумали, что он шутит.
15 Когда взошла заря, ангелы стали торопить Лута, говоря:
– Торопись! Уводи отсюда свою жену и двух дочерей, а не то ты погибнешь, когда наказание падёт на город.
16 Он медлил, но те двое взяли его за руку, и его жену, и двух дочерей, потому что Вечный был к ним милостив, и вывели их за пределы города. 17 Уже за пределами города один из них сказал:
– Бегите отсюда! Не оглядывайтесь назад и не останавливайтесь нигде в долине! Бегите в горы, а не то вы погибнете!
18 Но Лут сказал им:
– Нет, господа, прошу вас! 19 Раб ваш нашёл в ваших глазах расположение, и вы явили мне великую милость, спасая мою жизнь. Но в горы мне не добежать: бедствие настигнет меня, и я погибну. 20 Вон тот городок недалеко, туда я успею добежать, и он невелик. Позвольте мне бежать туда – ведь он совсем мал, не так ли? – и моя жизнь будет спасена.
21 Ангел ответил:
– Хорошо, я выполню и эту просьбу: я не разрушу города, о котором ты говоришь. 22 Беги туда быстрее, потому что я ничего не могу сделать, пока ты не доберёшься до него. (Вот почему тот город был назван Цоар («малый»).)
23 Солнце уже встало, когда Лут добрался до Цоара. 24 Тогда Вечный пролил дождём горящую серу с небес[a] на Содом и Гоморру: 25 Он разрушил города и всю долину, и всех, кто жил в городах, и всё, что росло на земле. 26 А жена Лута оглянулась назад и превратилась в соляной столб.
27 На другое утро Ибрахим поднялся рано и вернулся к тому месту, где он стоял перед Вечным. 28 Он посмотрел на Содом и Гоморру, и на всю долину, и увидел: густой дым поднимается от земли, как дым из печи.
29 Так, когда Всевышний уничтожил города долины, Он вспомнил Ибрахима и спас Лута от бедствия, разрушившего города, в которых жил Лут.
Ужасный грех в семье Лута
30 Лут и две его дочери покинули Цоар и поселились в горах, так как он боялся оставаться в Цоаре. Он жил в пещере со своими двумя дочерьми.
31 Старшая дочь сказала младшей:
– Наш отец стар, а здесь нигде нет мужчины, чтобы лечь с нами по обычаю всей земли. 32 Давай напоим отца вином и ляжем с ним, чтобы сохранить наш род через нашего отца.
33 В ту ночь они напоили отца вином, и старшая дочь вошла и легла с ним. Он и не знал, когда она легла и когда встала. 34 На другой день старшая дочь сказала младшей:
– Прошлой ночью я легла с отцом. Давай опять напоим его вином сегодня вечером, и ты войдёшь и ляжешь с ним, чтобы мы могли сохранить наш род через нашего отца.
35 Они напоили отца вином и в эту ночь, и младшая дочь вошла и легла с ним. Он и не знал, когда она легла и когда встала.
36 Так обе дочери Лута забеременели от отца. 37 Старшая дочь родила сына и назвала его Моав («от отца»); он отец нынешних моавитян. 38 Младшая дочь тоже родила сына и назвала его Бен-Амми («сын моего народа»); он отец нынешних аммонитян.

Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed
19 The two angels(A) arrived at Sodom(B) in the evening, and Lot(C) was sitting in the gateway of the city.(D) When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.(E) 2 “My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet(F) and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.”
“No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.”(G)
3 But he insisted(H) so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house.(I) He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast,(J) and they ate.(K) 4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom(L)—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”(M)
6 Lot went outside to meet them(N) and shut the door behind him 7 and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”(O)
9 “Get out of our way,” they replied. “This fellow came here as a foreigner,(P) and now he wants to play the judge!(Q) We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.
10 But the men(R) inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. 11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness(S) so that they could not find the door.
12 The two men said to Lot, “Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you?(T) Get them out of here, 13 because we(U) are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great(V) that he has sent us to destroy it.”(W)
14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry[a] his daughters. He said, “Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!(X)” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.(Y)
15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away(Z) when the city is punished.(AA)”
16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters(AB) and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them.(AC) 17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives!(AD) Don’t look back,(AE) and don’t stop anywhere in the plain!(AF) Flee to the mountains(AG) or you will be swept away!”
18 But Lot said to them, “No, my lords,[b] please! 19 Your[c] servant has found favor in your[d] eyes,(AH) and you[e] have shown great kindness(AI) to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains;(AJ) this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die. 20 Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it—it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.”
21 He said to him, “Very well, I will grant this request(AK) too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of. 22 But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it.” (That is why the town was called Zoar.[f](AL))
23 By the time Lot reached Zoar,(AM) the sun had risen over the land. 24 Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur(AN) on Sodom and Gomorrah(AO)—from the Lord out of the heavens.(AP) 25 Thus he overthrew those cities(AQ) and the entire plain,(AR) destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.(AS) 26 But Lot’s wife looked back,(AT) and she became a pillar of salt.(AU)
27 Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the Lord.(AV) 28 He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.(AW)
29 So when God destroyed the cities of the plain,(AX) he remembered(AY) Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe(AZ) that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.(BA)
Lot and His Daughters
30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar(BB) and settled in the mountains,(BC) for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. 31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth. 32 Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line(BD) through our father.”(BE)
33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and slept with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.(BF)
34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Last night I slept with my father. Let’s get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and sleep with him so we can preserve our family line through our father.”(BG) 35 So they got their father to drink wine(BH) that night also, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.(BI)
36 So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.(BJ) 37 The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab[g];(BK) he is the father of the Moabites(BL) of today. 38 The younger daughter also had a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi[h]; he is the father of the Ammonites[i](BM) of today.

Sodom’s Depravity
19 Now (A)the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and (B)Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. 2 And he said, “Here now, my lords, please (C)turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and (D)wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.”
And they said, (E)“No, but we will spend the night in the open square.”
3 But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. (F)Then he made them a feast, and baked (G)unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. 5 (H)And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? (I)Bring them out to us that we (J)may know them carnally.”
6 So (K)Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him, 7 and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly! 8 (L)See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, (M)since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
9 And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one (N)came in to [a]stay here, (O)and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door. 10 But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. 11 And they (P)struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.
Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed(Q)
12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—(R)take them out of this place! 13 For we will destroy this place, because the (S)outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and (T)the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”
14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, (U)who had married his daughters, and said, (V)“Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city!” (W)But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.
15 When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, (X)“Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.” 16 And while he lingered, the men (Y)took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the (Z)Lord being merciful to him, (AA)and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that [b]he said, (AB)“Escape for your life! (AC)Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape (AD)to the mountains, lest you be [c]destroyed.”
18 Then Lot said to them, “Please, (AE)no, my lords! 19 Indeed now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have increased your mercy which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, lest some evil overtake me and I die. 20 See now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one; please let me escape there (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.”
21 And he said to him, “See, (AF)I have favored you concerning this thing also, in that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken. 22 Hurry, escape there. For (AG)I cannot do anything until you arrive there.”
Therefore (AH)the name of the city was called [d]Zoar.
23 The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained (AI)brimstone and (AJ)fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He [e]overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and (AK)what grew on the ground.
26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became (AL)a pillar of salt.
27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where (AM)he had stood before the Lord. 28 Then he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain; and he saw, and behold, (AN)the smoke of the land which went up like the smoke of a furnace. 29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God (AO)remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.
The Descendants of Lot
30 Then Lot went up out of Zoar and (AP)dwelt in the mountains, and his two daughters were with him; for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar. And he and his two daughters dwelt in a cave. 31 Now the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man on the earth (AQ)to come in to us as is the custom of all the earth. 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we (AR)may preserve the [f]lineage of our father.” 33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
34 It happened on the next day that the firstborn said to the younger, “Indeed I lay with my father last night; let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve the [g]lineage of our father.” 35 Then they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father. 37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; (AS)he is the father of the Moabites to this day. 38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; (AT)he is the father of the people of Ammon to this day.

Уништење Содоме и Гоморе
19 Она два анђела стигоше увече до Содоме. Лот је седео на градској капији, па када их је угледао, устаде, пође им у сусрет и ничице се поклони.
2 »Молим вас, господо«, рече, »свратите у кућу свога слуге да преноћите и оперете ноге, а сутра ураните и наставите пут.«
»Не«, одговорише они, »преноћићемо на тргу.«
3 Али Лот их је упорно наговарао, па они свратише к њему. Уђоше у његову кућу, а он им спреми гозбу и испече бесквасног хлеба, па су јели.
4 Пре него што су легли на починак, сви грађани Содоме, сав народ из свих делова града, и старо и младо, опколише кућу.
5 Зовнуше Лота, па га упиташе: »Где су људи који су ноћас дошли к теби? Изведи нам их, да спавамо с њима.«

9 »Склањај нам се с пута!« рекоше они. »Дошао овде као странац, а већ би да буде судија! Сад ћемо ми с тобом горе него с њима.«
И силовито одгурнуше Лота, па кренуше да развале врата. 10 Али она двојица пружише руке напоље, па увукоше Лота к себи у кућу и затворише врата. 11 А људе пред улазом, и младе и старе, заслепише, тако да нису могли да нађу улаз.
12 »Кога још имаш овде?« упиташе она двојица Лота. »Зетове, синове и кћери и све које имаш у граду, изведи одавде 13 јер ћемо ми затрти ово место. Повика против ових људи постала је толика пред ГОСПОДОМ да нас је послао да га затремо.«
14 И Лот изађе да то каже својим будућим зетовима.
»Брзо!« рече им. »Изађите из овога места, јер ће га ГОСПОД затрти!«
Али његови зетови су мислили да се шали.
15 Када је свануло, анђели почеше да пожурују Лота, говорећи: »Брзо! Изведи своју жену и своје две кћери које су овде, да и ви не будете уништени када казнимо град.«
16 А Лот је оклевао. Зато они људи узеше за руку њега, његову жену и његове две кћери и изведоше их ван града, јер им се ГОСПОД смиловао.
17 Када су их извели, један од њих рече: »Бежите главом без обзира! Не осврћите се и не заустављајте се нигде у равници! Бежите у планине, да не будете уништени!«
18 Тада Лот рече: »Не, господару. 19 Ја, твој слуга, нашао сам милост у твојим очима и ти си показао велику љубав према мени када си ми спасао живот. Али, ја не могу да бежим у планине. Несрећа ће ме стићи и погинућу. 20 Него, ено тамо града који је довољно близу да у њега побегнем, а мали је. Дај ми да побегнем онамо – место је заиста мало – да спасем живот.«
21 А онај му рече: »Добро, услишићу ти и ову молбу и нећу срушити град о ком говориш. 22 Само бежи онамо брзо, јер не могу ништа да учиним док не стигнеш тамо.« Зато је онај град добио име Цоар[b].
23 Сунце је већ било изашло када је Лот ушао у Цоар. 24 Тада ГОСПОД горућим сумпором запљушта на Содому и Гомору са неба 25 и уништи те градове и сву равницу, све житеље градова и све растиње на земљи.
26 А Лотова жена се осврну, и претвори се у стуб соли.
27 Авраам устаде рано ујутро и оде на место где је стајао пред ГОСПОДОМ. 28 Погледа према Содоми и Гомори и према свој равници, а оно – дим куља из земље као дим из пећи!
29 Тако се Бог сетио Авраама када је затирао градове у равници у којима је живео Лот и извео Лота пре њиховог уништења.
Порекло Моаваца и Амонаца
30 Лот и његове две кћери одоше из Цоара и настанише се у планинама јер се он плашио да остане у Цоару. Он и његове две кћери живели су у пећини.
31 Старија кћи рече млађој: »Наш отац је стар, а нема мушкарца да с нама спава као што је обичај на целом свету. 32 Хајде да оца опијемо вином, па да легнемо с њим, да му сачувамо потомство.«
33 Тако те ноћи опише оца вином, и старија кћи уђе к њему, па леже с њим. А он није знао ни када је легла ни када је устала.
34 Сутрадан старија рече млађој: »Синоћ сам ја легла с оцем. Хајде да га и вечерас опијемо, па ти уђи и лези с њим, да му сачувамо потомство.«
35 Тако оне и те ноћи опише свога оца вином, па млађа кћи оде и леже с њим. А он није знао ни када је легла ни када је устала.
36 Тако обе Лотове кћери затруднеше са својим оцем. 37 Старија кћи роди сина и даде му име Моав. Он је праотац данашњих Моаваца. 38 И млађа кћи роди сина и даде му име Бен-Ами. Он је праотац данашњих Амонаца.
