11 А Исус, когато свърши наставленията Си към дванадесетте Си ученика, замина оттам да поучава и проповядва по градовете им.
2 (A)А Йоан, като чу в тъмницата за делата на Христос, прати неколцина от учениците си да Му кажат:
3 (B)Ти ли си Онзи, Който има да дойде, или друг да очакваме?
4 Исус им отговори: Идете, съобщете на Йоан това, което чувате и виждате:
5 (C)Слепи проглеждат, куци прохождат, прокажени се очистват и глухи прочуват; мъртви биват възкресени и на сиромасите се проповядва благовестието.
6 (D)И блажен онзи, който не се съблазнява в Мен.
7 (E)И когато те си отиваха, Исус започна да говори на народа за Йоан: Какво излязохте да видите в пустинята? Тръстика ли, от вятър разлюлявана?
8 Но какво излязохте да видите? Човек, облечен в меки дрехи? Ето, тези, които носят меки дрехи, са в царски дворци.
9 (F)Но защо излязохте? Пророк ли да видите? Да, казвам ви, и повече от пророк.
10 (G)Защото този е, за когото е писано:
„Ето, Аз изпращам вестителя Си пред Твоето лице,
който ще устрои пътя Ти пред Теб.“
11 Истина ви казвам: Между родените от жени не се е издигнал по-голям от Йоан Кръстител; обаче, най-малкият в небесното царство е по-голям от него.
12 (H)А от дните на Йоан Кръстител досега небесното царство насила се взема и които се насилят, го грабват.
13 (I)Защото всички пророци и законът пророкуваха до Йоан;
14 (J)и ако искате да го приемете, този е Илия, който имаше да дойде.
15 (K)Който има уши да слуша, нека слуша.
16 (L)А на какво да оприлича това поколение? То прилича на деца, които седят по пазарите и викат на другарите си:
17 Свирихме ви и не играхте; жалеехме и не плакахте.
18 Защото дойде Йоан, който нито ядеше, нито пиеше; и казват: Бяс има.
19 (M)Дойде Човешкият Син, Който яде и пие, и казват: Ето човек лаком и винопиец, приятел на бирниците и на грешниците! Но пак мъдростта се оправдава от делата си.
Горко на непокаялите се градове
20 Тогава започна да укорява градовете, където се извършиха повечето от Неговите велики дела, за това, че не се покаяха:
21 (N)Горко ти, Хоразине! Горко ти, Витсаидо! Защото ако бяха се извършили в Тир и Сидон великите дела, които се извършиха у вас, те отдавна биха се покаяли във вретище и пепел.
22 (O)Но, казвам ви, на Тир и Сидон наказанието ще бъде по-леко в деня на съда, отколкото на вас.
23 (P)И ти, Капернауме, до небесата ли ще се издигнеш? До ада ще слезеш! Защото ако бяха се извършили в Содом великите дела, които се извършиха в тебе, той и до днес би останал.
24 (Q)Но, казвам ви, че в съдния ден наказанието на Содомската земя ще бъде по-леко, отколкото на тебе.
Отец се открива чрез Сина
25 (R)В онова време Исус продължи да говори и каза: Благодаря Ти, Отче, Господи на небето и на земята, защото си укрил това от мъдрите и разумните, а си го открил на невръстните.
26 Да, Отче, защото така Ти се видя благоугодно.
27 (S)Всичко Ми е предадено от Моя Отец; и освен Отца никой не познава Сина; нито познава някой Отца освен Сина и онзи, на когото Синът би благоволил да Го открие.
28 Елате при Мене всички, които се трудите и сте обременени, и Аз ще ви успокоя.
29 (T)Вземете Моето иго върху себе си и се научете от Мене; защото съм кротък и смирен по сърце; и ще намерите покой на душите си.
30 (U)Защото Моето иго е благо и Моето бреме е леко.

Jesús sale a enseñar y predicar
11 Y sucedió que cuando Jesús terminó de dar instrucciones a Sus doce discípulos(A), se fue de allí a enseñar y predicar[a] en las ciudades de ellos(B).
Jesús y los discípulos de Juan
2 (C)Al oír Juan en la cárcel de las obras de Cristo[b], mandó por medio de sus discípulos 3 a decir a Jesús: «¿Eres Tú el que ha de venir[c](D), o esperaremos a otro?».
4 Jesús les respondió: «Vayan y cuenten a Juan lo que oyen y ven: 5 los ciegos reciben la vista y los cojos andan, los leprosos quedan limpios, los sordos oyen(E), los muertos son resucitados y a los pobres se les anuncia el evangelio(F). 6 Y bienaventurado es el que no se escandaliza de Mí(G)».
Jesús habla de Juan el Bautista
7 Mientras ellos se iban, Jesús comenzó a hablar a las multitudes acerca de Juan: «¿Qué salieron a ver en el desierto(H)? ¿Una caña sacudida por el viento? 8 Pero, ¿qué salieron a ver? ¿Un hombre vestido con ropas finas? Miren, los que usan ropas finas están en los palacios[d]de los reyes. 9 Pero, ¿qué salieron a ver? ¿A un profeta(I)? Sí, les digo, y uno que es más que un profeta. 10 Este es de quien está escrito:
“Mira, Yo envío Mi mensajero delante de Ti,
Quien preparará Tu camino delante de Ti(J) ”.
11 En verdad les digo que entre los nacidos de mujer[e] no se ha levantado nadie mayor que Juan el Bautista; sin embargo, el más pequeño en el reino de los cielos es mayor que él. 12 Desde los días de Juan el Bautista(K)hasta ahora, el reino de los cielos sufre violencia[f], y los violentos lo conquistan por la fuerza[g]. 13 Porque todos los profetas y la ley profetizaron hasta Juan. 14 Y si quieren aceptarlo, él es Elías(L), el que había de venir[h]. 15 El que tiene oídos[i], que oiga(M).
16 »Pero, ¿con qué compararé a esta generación? Es semejante a los muchachos que se sientan en las plazas, que dan voces a los otros, 17 y dicen: “Les tocamos la flauta, y no bailaron; entonamos endechas[j], y no se lamentaron[k]”. 18 Porque vino Juan que no comía(N)ni bebía(O), y dicen: “Tiene un demonio(P)”. 19 Vino el Hijo del Hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: “Miren, un hombre glotón y bebedor de vino, amigo de recaudadores de impuestos[l]y de pecadores(Q)”. Pero[m]la sabiduría se justifica por sus hechos[n]».
Ayes sobre ciudades de Galilea
20 Entonces Jesús comenzó a reprender a las ciudades en las que había hecho la mayoría de Sus milagros[o], porque no se habían arrepentido(R): 21 «¡(S)Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Betsaida(T)! Porque si los milagros[p]que se hicieron en ustedes se hubieran hecho en Tiro y en Sidón(U), hace tiempo que se hubieran arrepentido en cilicio y ceniza(V). 22 Por eso les digo que en el día del juicio(W)será más tolerable(X)el castigo para Tiro y Sidón que para ustedes.
23 »Y tú, Capernaúm(Y) , ¿acaso serás elevada hasta los cielos? ¡Hasta el Hades[q](Z) descenderás[r](AA) ! Porque si los milagros[s] que se hicieron en ti se hubieran hecho en Sodoma(AB) , esta hubiera permanecido hasta hoy. 24 Sin embargo, les digo que en el día del juicio(AC)será más tolerable(AD)el castigo para la tierra de Sodoma que para ti».
La gran invitación
25 (AE)En aquel tiempo[t], Jesús dijo: «Te alabo[u], Padre(AF), Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque ocultaste estas cosas a sabios e inteligentes(AG), y las revelaste a los niños. 26 Sí, Padre(AH), porque así fue de Tu agrado.
27 »Todas las cosas me han sido entregadas por Mi Padre(AI) ; y nadie conoce[v] al Hijo, sino el Padre, ni nadie conoce[w] al Padre, sino el Hijo(AJ) , y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar.
28 »Vengan a Mí, todos los que están cansados[x] y cargados, y Yo los haré descansar(AK) . 29 Tomen Mi yugo sobre ustedes y aprendan de Mí(AL), que Yo soy manso y humilde de corazón, y hallarán descanso para sus almas(AM). 30 Porque Mi yugo es fácil[y]y Mi carga ligera(AN)».

Jesus and John the Baptist(A)
11 After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples,(B) he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.[a]
2 When John,(C) who was in prison,(D) heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples 3 to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come,(E) or should we expect someone else?”
4 Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[b] are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.(F) 6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”(G)
7 As John’s(H) disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness(I) to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 8 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces. 9 Then what did you go out to see? A prophet?(J) Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 10 This is the one about whom it is written:
11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence,[d] and violent people have been raiding it. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.(M) 14 And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.(N) 15 Whoever has ears, let them hear.(O)
16 “To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:
17 “‘We played the pipe for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not mourn.’
18 For John came neither eating(P) nor drinking,(Q) and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’(R) But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
Woe on Unrepentant Towns(S)
20 Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!(T) For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon,(U) they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.(V) 22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.(W) 23 And you, Capernaum,(X) will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades.[e](Y) For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”(Z)
The Father Revealed in the Son(AA)
25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father,(AB) Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.(AC) 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
27 “All things have been committed to me(AD) by my Father.(AE) No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.(AF)
28 “Come to me,(AG) all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.(AH) 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,(AI) for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.(AJ) 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”(AK)

2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
8 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.
9 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
