8 (A)А в шестата година, в шестия месец, на петия ден от месеца, докато седях в къщата си и Юдейските старейшини седяха пред мене, ръката на Господа Йехова се спусна там върху мене.
2 (B)Погледнах и видях – подобие, наглед като огън; от това, което се виждаше, че е кръстът му и надолу, огън; и от кръста му нагоре, наглед като сияние, като че ли беше светъл метал.
3 (C)Той простря подобие на ръка и ме хвана за косата; и Духът ме издигна между земята и небето и ме пренесе чрез Божии видения в Йерусалим, до входа на северната порта на вътрешния двор, където беше поставен възбудителят на ревността – идол, който предизвиква ревнуване.
4 (D)Славата на Израилевия Бог беше там, както във видението, което видях в полето.
5 Тогава Той ми каза: Сине човешки, повдигни сега очите си към север. И така, погледнах към север и, ето, на север от вратата, която води за жертвеника, при входа стоеше този идол – възбудител на ревност.
6 Той ми каза: Сине човешки, виждаш ли какво правят тези? – Големите мерзости, които Израилевият дом върши тук, за да се отдалеча от светилището Си? Но ще видиш още големи мерзости.
7 И така, заведе ме до вратата на двора; и като погледнах, ето, една дупка в стената.
8 Тогава ми каза: Сине човешки, копай сега в стената. И като копах в стената, открих вход.
9 Той ми каза: Влез и виж нечестивите мерзости, които тези вършат тук.
10 И така, влязох и погледнах: и, ето, всякакви подобия на гадове и гнусни животни, и всички идоли на Израилевия дом, изобразени на стената открай докрай.
11 Пред тях стояха седемдесет мъже от старейшините на Израилевия дом, сред които беше Яазания, Сафановият син – всеки с кадилницата си в ръката си; и гъст облак тамян се издигаше.
12 (E)Тогава ми каза: Сине човешки, видя ли какво правят в тъмнината старейшините на Израилевия дом, всички в скришните си стаи за изображения! Защото си казват: Господ не ни вижда; Господ е напуснал земята.
13 Каза ми още: Ще видиш още големи мерзости, които вършат.
14 Тогава ме заведе до входа на северната порта на Господния дом; и, ето, там седяха жени и оплакваха Тамуз[a].
15 Тогава ми каза: Видя ли, сине човешки? Ще видиш още и по-големи мерзости от тези.
16 (F)После ме въведе във вътрешния двор на Господния дом; и, ето, във входа на Господния храм, между предхрамието и олтара, около двадесет и пет мъже, с гърбовете си към Господния храм и с лицата си към изток, които се кланяха на слънцето към изток.
17 (G)Тогава ми каза: Видя ли, сине човешки? Малко ли е за Юдовия дом, че вършат мерзости, каквито тези вършат тук? Защото, като напълниха земята с насилия, пак предизвикват гнева Ми; и, ето, слагат клончето до ноздрите си.
18 (H)Затова и Аз ще действам с ярост; окото Ми няма да ги пощади, нито ще покажа милост; и макар да извикат в ушите Ми с висок глас, няма да ги послушам.

Idolatry in the Temple
8 In the sixth year, in the sixth month on the fifth day, while I was sitting in my house and the elders(A) of Judah were sitting before(B) me, the hand of the Sovereign Lord came on me there.(C) 2 I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man.[a] From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal.(D) 3 He stretched out what looked like a hand(E) and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up(F) between earth and heaven and in visions(G) of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court,(H) where the idol that provokes to jealousy(I) stood. 4 And there before me was the glory(J) of the God of Israel, as in the vision I had seen in the plain.(K)
5 Then he said to me, “Son of man, look toward the north.” So I looked, and in the entrance north of the gate of the altar I saw this idol(L) of jealousy.
6 And he said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing—the utterly detestable(M) things the Israelites are doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary?(N) But you will see things that are even more detestable.”
7 Then he brought me to the entrance to the court. I looked, and I saw a hole in the wall. 8 He said to me, “Son of man, now dig into the wall.” So I dug into the wall and saw a doorway there.
9 And he said to me, “Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here.” 10 So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls(O) all kinds of crawling things and unclean(P) animals and all the idols of Israel.(Q) 11 In front of them stood seventy elders(R) of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer(S) in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense(T) was rising.(U)
12 He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness,(V) each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, ‘The Lord does not see(W) us; the Lord has forsaken the land.’” 13 Again, he said, “You will see them doing things that are even more detestable.”
14 Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the Lord, and I saw women sitting there, mourning the god Tammuz.(X) 15 He said to me, “Do you see this, son of man? You will see things that are even more detestable than this.”
16 He then brought me into the inner court(Y) of the house of the Lord, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar,(Z) were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun(AA) in the east.(AB)
17 He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the people of Judah to do the detestable things(AC) they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence(AD) and continually arouse my anger?(AE) Look at them putting the branch to their nose! 18 Therefore I will deal with them in anger;(AF) I will not look on them with pity(AG) or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen(AH) to them.”

8 La sixième année, le cinquième jour du sixième mois, comme j'étais assis dans ma maison, et que les anciens de Juda étaient assis devant moi, la main du Seigneur, de l'Éternel, tomba sur moi.
2 Je regardai, et voici, c'était une figure ayant l'aspect d'un homme; depuis ses reins en bas, c'était du feu, et depuis ses reins en haut, c'était quelque chose d'éclatant, comme de l'airain poli.
3 Il étendit une forme de main, et me saisit par les cheveux de la tête. L'esprit m'enleva entre la terre et le ciel, et me transporta, dans des visions divines, à Jérusalem, à l'entrée de la porte intérieure, du côté du septentrion, où était l'idole de la jalousie, qui excite la jalousie de l'Éternel.
4 Et voici, la gloire du Dieu d'Israël était là, telle que je l'avais vue en vision dans la vallée.
5 Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, lève les yeux du côté du septentrion! Je levai les yeux du côté du septentrion; et voici, cette idole de la jalousie était au septentrion de la porte de l'autel, à l'entrée.
6 Et il me dit: Fils de l'homme, vois-tu ce qu'ils font, les grandes abominations que commet ici la maison d'Israël, pour que je m'éloigne de mon sanctuaire? Mais tu verras encore d'autres grandes abominations.
7 Alors il me conduisit à l'entrée du parvis. Je regardai, et voici, il y avait un trou dans le mur.
8 Et il me dit: Fils de l'homme, perce la muraille! Je perçai la muraille, et voici, il y avait une porte.
9 Et il me dit: Entre, et vois les méchantes abominations qu'ils commettent ici!
10 J'entrai, et je regardai; et voici, il y avait toutes sortes de figures de reptiles et de bêtes abominables, et toutes les idoles de la maison d'Israël, peintes sur la muraille tout autour.
11 Soixante-dix hommes des anciens de la maison d'Israël, au milieu desquels était Jaazania, fils de Schaphan, se tenaient devant ces idoles, chacun l'encensoir à la main, et il s'élevait une épaisse nuée d'encens.
12 Et il me dit: Fils de l'homme, vois-tu ce que font dans les ténèbres les anciens de la maison d'Israël, chacun dans sa chambre pleine de figures? Car ils disent: L'Éternel ne nous voit pas, l'Éternel a abandonné le pays.
13 Et il me dit: Tu verras encore d'autres grandes abominations qu'ils commettent.
14 Et il me conduisit à l'entrée de la porte de la maison de l'Éternel, du côté du septentrion. Et voici, il y avait là des femmes assises, qui pleuraient Thammuz.
15 Et il me dit: Vois-tu, fils de l'homme? Tu verras encore d'autres abominations plus grandes que celles-là.
16 Et il me conduisit dans le parvis intérieur de la maison de l'Éternel. Et voici, à l'entrée du temple de l'Éternel, entre le portique et l'autel, il y avait environ vingt-cinq hommes, tournant le dos au temple de l'Éternel et le visage vers l'orient; et ils se prosternaient à l'orient devant le soleil.
17 Et il me dit: Vois-tu, fils de l'homme? Est-ce trop peu pour la maison de Juda de commettre les abominations qu'ils commettent ici? Faut-il encore qu'ils remplissent le pays de violence, et qu'ils ne cessent de m'irriter? Voici, ils approchent le rameau de leur nez.
18 Moi aussi, j'agirai avec fureur; mon oeil sera sans pitié, et je n'aurai point de miséricorde; quand ils crieront à haute voix à mes oreilles, je ne les écouterai pas.

8 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord God fell there upon me.
2 Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.
5 Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.
13 He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
16 And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

9 And He said to me, “Go in, and see the wicked abominations which they are doing there.” 10 So I went in and saw, and there—every (M)sort of (N)creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, [b]portrayed all around on the walls. 11 And there stood before them (O)seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up. 12 Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols?
