Грех и наказание Иудеи
17 – Грех Иудеи начертан железным резцом,
вырезан алмазным острием
на их окаменевших сердцах
и на рогах их жертвенников.
2 Даже их дети помнят
эти жертвенники и столбы Ашеры[a]
у тенистых деревьев,
на высоких холмах
3 и на горах страны.
Твои богатства и все твои сокровища
Я отдам на разграбление,
вместе с твоими святилищами на возвышенностях
за грехи, наводнившие всю страну.
4 По своей же вине ты теряешь удел,
который Я тебе дал.
Я отдам тебя в рабство твоим врагам,
в страну, которая тебе незнакома;
потому что вы разожгли огонь Моего гнева –
он будет пылать вовеки.
Господь – надежда для праведника
5 Так говорит Господь:
– Проклят полагающийся на смертного,
делающий своей опорой плоть
и отвращающий свое сердце от Господа.
6 Он будет как куст в пустыне;
не увидит, как явится благо.
Будет жить в обожженной зноем пустыне,
в соленой земле, где никто не живет.
7 Благословен полагающийся на Господа,
чье упование – Господь.
8 Он будет как дерево, посаженное у воды,
что корни свои простирает к реке.
Не боится оно, что настанет зной;
листья его пребудут зелеными.
Не тревожится в год засушливый
и плодоносить не перестанет.
9 Сердце лукавее всего
и неисцелимо –
кто в силах понять его?
10 – Я, Господь, проникаю в сердце
и испытываю разум,
чтобы каждому воздать по поступкам,
по плодам его рук.
11 Как куропатка сидит на яйцах,
которых она не несла,
так и тот, кто копит богатство нечестно:
в середине его жизненного пути оно уйдет от него,
и в конце он окажется глупцом.
12 – Славный престол, вознесенный извечно, –
вот место Святыни нашей.
13 Господь, надежда Израиля,
всякий, кто оставит Тебя, будет опозорен;
кто от Тебя отвернется,
уподобится именам, написанным на прахе,
потому что оставил Господа,
источник живой воды.
14 Исцели меня, Господи, и я буду исцелен;
спаси меня, и я буду спасен,
потому что я славлю Тебя.
15 Все твердят мне:
«Где слово Господне?
Пусть исполнится!»
16 Не бежал я от того, чтобы быть пастухом у Тебя;
Ты знаешь, рокового дня я не желал.

– Пойди и встань у Народных ворот, через которые входят и выходят цари Иудеи, а потом иди и встань у других ворот Иерусалима. 20 Скажи им: «Слушайте слово Господне, цари Иудеи, и весь народ Иудеи, и все жители Иерусалима, кто ходит через эти ворота. 21 Так говорит Господь: Если любите жизнь, смотрите, не носите ношу в субботу[b] и не проносите их через ворота Иерусалима. 22 Не выносите ношу из своих домов и не делайте никакой работы в субботу – храните субботу священной, как Я повелел вашим предкам, 23 которые, однако, не слушали, и не внимали, и были упрямы. Они не слушали и не принимали наставления. 24 Но если вы будете слушаться Меня, – возвещает Господь, – и не станете проносить ношу через ворота этого города в субботу, а станете хранить субботу священной, не делая в этот день никакой работы, 25 то через ворота этого города будут входить цари, которые сидят на престоле Давида, и их приближенные. Будут проезжать в колесницах и на конях цари и их приближенные, народ Иудеи и жители Иерусалима, и город этот вечно будет населен жителями. 26 Из городов Иудеи, из окрестностей Иерусалима, из земель Вениамина, с западных предгорий, с нагорий и из Негева будут приходить люди со всесожжениями и жертвами, хлебными приношениями, ладаном и благодарственными дарами для дома Господня. 27 Но если вы не послушаетесь Меня, не будете соблюдать святость субботы и будете проносить ношу, входя через ворота Иерусалима в субботу, то Я зажгу в воротах Иерусалима неугасимое пламя, которое уничтожит его дворцы».

17 “Judah’s sin is engraved with an iron tool,(A)
inscribed with a flint point,
on the tablets of their hearts(B)
and on the horns(C) of their altars.
2 Even their children remember
their altars and Asherah poles[a](D)
beside the spreading trees
and on the high hills.(E)
3 My mountain in the land
and your[b] wealth and all your treasures
I will give away as plunder,(F)
together with your high places,(G)
because of sin throughout your country.(H)
4 Through your own fault you will lose
the inheritance(I) I gave you.
I will enslave you to your enemies(J)
in a land(K) you do not know,
for you have kindled my anger,
and it will burn(L) forever.”
5 This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man,(M)
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.(N)
6 That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places(O) of the desert,
in a salt(P) land where no one lives.
7 “But blessed(Q) is the one who trusts(R) in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.(S)
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought(T)
and never fails to bear fruit.”(U)
9 The heart(V) is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
10 “I the Lord search the heart(W)
and examine the mind,(X)
to reward(Y) each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”(Z)
11 Like a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay
are those who gain riches by unjust means.
When their lives are half gone, their riches will desert them,
and in the end they will prove to be fools.(AA)
12 A glorious throne,(AB) exalted from the beginning,
is the place of our sanctuary.
13 Lord, you are the hope(AC) of Israel;
all who forsake(AD) you will be put to shame.
Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust(AE)
because they have forsaken the Lord,
the spring of living water.(AF)
14 Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;(AG)
save(AH) me and I will be saved,
for you are the one I praise.(AI)
15 They keep saying to me,
“Where is the word of the Lord?
Let it now be fulfilled!”(AJ)
16 I have not run away from being your shepherd;
you know I have not desired the day of despair.
What passes my lips(AK) is open before you.
17 Do not be a terror(AL) to me;
you are my refuge(AM) in the day of disaster.(AN)
18 Let my persecutors be put to shame,
but keep me from shame;
let them be terrified,
but keep me from terror.
Bring on them the day of disaster;
destroy them with double destruction.(AO)
Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy
19 This is what the Lord said to me: “Go and stand at the Gate of the People,[c] through which the kings of Judah go in and out; stand also at all the other gates of Jerusalem.(AP) 20 Say to them, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah and all people of Judah and everyone living in Jerusalem(AQ) who come through these gates.(AR) 21 This is what the Lord says: Be careful not to carry a load on the Sabbath(AS) day or bring it through the gates of Jerusalem. 22 Do not bring a load out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your ancestors.(AT) 23 Yet they did not listen or pay attention;(AU) they were stiff-necked(AV) and would not listen or respond to discipline.(AW) 24 But if you are careful to obey me, declares the Lord, and bring no load through the gates of this city on the Sabbath, but keep the Sabbath day holy(AX) by not doing any work on it, 25 then kings who sit on David’s throne(AY) will come through the gates of this city with their officials. They and their officials will come riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by the men of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.(AZ) 26 People will come from the towns of Judah and the villages around Jerusalem, from the territory of Benjamin and the western foothills, from the hill country and the Negev,(BA) bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, and bringing thank offerings to the house of the Lord. 27 But if you do not obey(BB) me to keep the Sabbath(BC) day holy by not carrying any load as you come through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle an unquenchable fire(BD) in the gates of Jerusalem that will consume her fortresses.’”(BE)

17 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;
2 Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
3 O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.
4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.
14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come now.
16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.
18 Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
19 Thus said the Lord unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the Lord, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
21 Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the Lord, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the Lord.
27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
