3 (A)Има време за всяко нещо
и срок – за всяка работа под небето:
2 (B)време за раждане и време за умиране;
време за насаждане и време за изкореняване на насаденото;
3 време за убиване и време за изцеляване;
време за събаряне и време за градене;
4 време за плач и време за смях;
време за тъга и време за радост;
5 (C)време за разхвърляне на камъни и време за събиране на камъни;
време за прегръщане и време за въздържане от прегръщането;
6 време за търсене и време за изгубване;
време за пазене и време за хвърляне;
7 (D)време за раздиране и време за шиене;
време за мълчание и време за говорене;
8 (E)време за обичане и време за мразене;
време за война и време за мир.
9 (F)Каква полза за онзи, който работи,
от онова, в което се труди той?
10 (G)Видях труда, който Бог даде
на човешките синове, за да се трудят в него.
11 (H)Той е направил всяко нещо хубаво на времето му;
положил е и вечността в тяхното сърце,
без обаче да може човек да издири
отначало докрай делото, което е направил Бог.
12 (I)Познах, че няма друго, по-добро за тях,
освен да се весели всеки и да благоденства през живота си;
13 (J)и още всеки човек да яде и да пие,
и да се наслаждава от доброто на целия си труд.
Това е дар от Бога.
14 (K)Познах, че всичко, което прави Бог, ще бъде вечно;
не е възможно да се прибави към него, нито да се отнеме от него;
и Бог е направил това, за да се боят хората от Него.
15 (L)Каквото съществува, е станало вече;
и каквото и да стане, е станало вече;
и Бог ще извика отново онова, което е минало.
16 (M)Видях още под слънцето
мястото на съда, а там – беззаконието,
и мястото на правдата, а там – неправдата.

17 (N)Казах си:
Бог ще съди праведния и нечестивия;
защото има време в Него за всяко нещо и за всяко дело.
18 Казах в сърцето си относно човешките синове,
че това е, за да ги опита Бог
и за да видят те, че в себе си са като животни.
19 (O)Защото каквото постига човешките синове,
постига и животните: една участ имат;
както умира единият, така умира и другото.
Да! Един дух имат всичките;
и човек не превъзхожда в нищо животното,
защото всичко е суета.
20 (P)Всички отиват на едно място;
всички са от пръстта и всички се връщат в пръстта.
21 (Q)Кой знае, че духът на човешките синове възлиза горе
и че духът на животното слиза долу, на земята?
22 (R)И така, видях, че за човека няма по-добро,
освен да се радва в делата си;
защото това е делът му;
понеже кой ще го върне назад, за да види

3 Todo tiene su momento oportuno; hay un tiempo para todo lo que se hace bajo el cielo:
2 un tiempo para nacer
y un tiempo para morir;
un tiempo para plantar
y un tiempo para cosechar;
3 un tiempo para matar
y un tiempo para sanar;
un tiempo para destruir
y un tiempo para construir;
4 un tiempo para llorar
y un tiempo para reír;
un tiempo para estar de luto
y un tiempo para saltar de gozo;
5 un tiempo para esparcir piedras
y un tiempo para recogerlas;
un tiempo para abrazarse
y un tiempo para despedirse;
6 un tiempo para intentar
y un tiempo para desistir;
un tiempo para guardar
y un tiempo para desechar;
7 un tiempo para rasgar
y un tiempo para coser;
un tiempo para callar
y un tiempo para hablar;
8 un tiempo para amar
y un tiempo para odiar;
un tiempo para la guerra
y un tiempo para la paz.
De nada sirve afanarse
9 ¿Qué provecho saca quien trabaja de tanto afanarse? 10 He visto la tarea que Dios ha impuesto al género humano para abrumarlo con ella. 11 Dios hizo todo hermoso en su momento, y puso en la mente humana el sentido del tiempo, aun cuando el hombre no alcanza a comprender la obra que Dios realiza de principio a fin.
12 Yo sé que nada hay mejor para el hombre que alegrarse y hacer el bien mientras viva; 13 y sé también que es un don de Dios que el hombre coma o beba y disfrute de todos sus afanes. 14 Sé además que todo lo que Dios ha hecho permanece para siempre; que no hay nada que añadirle ni quitarle; y que Dios lo hizo así para que se le tema.
15 Lo que ahora existe ya existía;
y lo que ha de existir existe ya.
Dios hace que la historia se repita.

16 He visto algo más en esta vida: maldad donde se dictan las sentencias, y maldad donde se imparte la justicia. 17 Pensé entonces: «Al justo y al malvado los juzgará Dios, pues hay un tiempo para toda obra y un lugar para toda acción».
18 Pensé también con respecto a los hombres: «Dios los está poniendo a prueba, para que ellos mismos se den cuenta de que son como los animales. 19 Los hombres terminan igual que los animales; el destino de ambos es el mismo, pues unos y otros mueren por igual, y el aliento de vida es el mismo para todos, así que el hombre no es superior a los animales. Realmente, todo es absurdo, 20 y todo va hacia el mismo lugar.
»Todo surgió del polvo,
y al polvo todo volverá.
21 »¿Quién sabe si el espíritu del hombre se remonta a las alturas, y el de los animales desciende[a] a las profundidades de la tierra?» 22 He visto, pues, que nada hay mejor para el hombre que disfrutar de su trabajo, ya que eso le ha tocado. Pues, ¿quién lo traerá para que vea lo que sucederá después de él?

3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

The God-Given Task
9 (H)What profit has the worker from that in which he labors? 10 (I)I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that (J)no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
12 I know that nothing is (K)better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, 13 and also that (L)every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.
14 I know that whatever God does,
It shall be forever.
(M)Nothing can be added to it,
And nothing taken from it.
God does it, that men should fear before Him.
15 (N)That which is has already been,
And what is to be has already been;
And God [b]requires an account of [c]what is past.
Injustice Seems to Prevail
16 Moreover (O)I saw under the sun:
In the place of [d]judgment,
Wickedness was there;
And in the place of righteousness,
[e]Iniquity was there.
17 I said in my heart,
(P)“God shall judge the righteous and the wicked,
For there is a time there for every [f]purpose and for every work.”
18 I said in my heart, “Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals.” 19 (Q)For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity. 20 All go to one place: (R)all are from the dust, and all return to dust. 21 (S)Who[g] knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth? 22 (T)So I perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for (U)that is his [h]heritage. (V)For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?
