Revelation 1:19-2:7
Young's Literal Translation
19 `Write the things that thou hast seen, and the things that are, and the things that are about to come after these things;
20 the secret of the seven stars that thou hast seen upon my right hand, and the seven golden lamp-stands: the seven stars are messengers of the seven assemblies, and the seven lamp-stands that thou hast seen are seven assemblies.
2 `To the messenger of the Ephesian assembly write: These things saith he who is holding the seven stars in his right hand, who is walking in the midst of the seven lamp-stands -- the golden:
2 I have known thy works, and thy labour, and thy endurance, and that thou art not able to bear evil ones, and that thou hast tried those saying themselves to be apostles and are not, and hast found them liars,
3 and thou didst bear, and hast endurance, and because of my name hast toiled, and hast not been weary.
4 `But I have against thee: That thy first love thou didst leave!
5 remember, then, whence thou hast fallen, and reform, and the first works do; and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will remove thy lamp-stand from its place -- if thou mayest not reform;
6 but this thou hast, that thou dost hate the works of the Nicolaitans, that I also hate.
7 He who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming -- I will give to him to eat of the tree of life that is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 1:19-2:7
New American Standard Bible
19 Therefore (A)write (B)the things which you have seen, [a]and the things which are, and the things which will take place (C)after these things. 20 As for the (D)mystery of the (E)seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the (F)seven golden lampstands: the (G)seven stars are the angels of (H)the seven churches, and the seven (I)lampstands are the seven churches.
Message to Ephesus
2 “To the angel of the church in (J)Ephesus write:
The One who holds (K)the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks [b](L)among the seven golden lampstands, says this:
2 ‘(M)I know your deeds and your labor and [c]perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people, and you have (N)put those who call themselves (O)apostles to the test, and they are not, and you found them to be false; 3 and you have [d]perseverance and have endured (P)on account of My name, and have not become weary. 4 But I have this against you, that you have (Q)left your first love. 5 Therefore, remember from where you have fallen, and (R)repent, and (S)do the [e]deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and I will remove your (T)lampstand from its place—unless you repent. 6 But you have this, that you hate the deeds of the (U)Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 (V)The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (W)To the one who overcomes, I will grant to eat from (X)the tree of life, which is in the (Y)Paradise of God.’
