But He will condemn a man ^[a]who devises evil.

^22 (A)Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

³¹ He ^(A)who oppresses the poor taunts ^(B)his Maker,
But he who is gracious to the needy honors Him.

⁸ The ^(A)sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But ^(B)the prayer of the upright is His delight.
⁹ The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But He loves one who ^(C)pursues righteousness.

^30 (A)Stripes that wound scour away evil,
And strokes reach the ^[a]innermost parts.

³ To do ^(A)righteousness and justice
Is desired by the Lord more than sacrifice.

²¹ He who ^(A)pursues righteousness and loyalty
Finds life, righteousness and honor.
