Numbers 21:6

⁶And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

⁶The Lord sent seraph^[a] serpents among the people. They bit the people, and many of the people of Israel died.

Numbers 21:6 Seraph: the Hebrew for a type of poisonous viper. The etymology suggests “fiery one,” “burning one.”
