Awit sa Araw ng Kapistahan
Katha ni Asaf upang awitin ng Punong Mang-aawit: ayon sa Gittith.[a]
81 Masiglang awitan ang Tagapagligtas, itong Diyos ni Jacob, awitang may galak.
2 Umawit sa saliw ng mga tamburin,
kasabay ng tugtog ng lira at alpa.
3 Hipan(A) ang trumpeta tuwing nagdiriwang,
kung buwan ay bago't nasa kabilugan.
4 Pagkat sa Israel, ito'y isang utos,
batas na ginawa ng Diyos ni Jacob.
5 Sa mga hinirang, ang utos di'y ito
nang sila'y ilabas sa bansang Egipto.
Ganito ang wika na aking narinig:
6 “Mabigat mong dala'y aking inaalis,
ikaw ay iibsan sa pasan mong labis.
7 Iniligtas(B) kita sa gitna ng hirap, sinaklolohan ka nang ika'y tumawag;
tinugon din kita sa gitna ng kidlat,
at sinubok kita sa Batis Meriba. (Selah)[b]
8 Kapag nangungusap, ako'y inyong dinggin,
sana'y makinig ka, O bansang Israel.
9 Ang(C) diyus-diyosa'y huwag mong paglingkuran, diyos ng ibang bansa'y di dapat yukuran.
10 Ako ay si Yahweh, ako ang Diyos mo,
ako ang tumubos sa iyo sa Egipto;
pagkaing gustuhin ibibigay ko sa iyo.
11 “Ngunit ang bayan ko'y hindi ako pansin,
di ako sinunod ng bayang Israel,
12 sa tigas ng puso, aking hinayaang
ang sarili nilang gusto'y siyang sundan.
13 Ang tangi kong hangad, sana ako'y sundin,
sundin ang utos ko ng bayang Israel;
14 ang kaaway nila'y aking lulupigin,
lahat ng kaaway agad lilipulin.
15 Silang namumuhi't sa aki'y napopoot, ay magsisiyuko sa laki ng takot,
ang parusa nila'y walang pagkatapos.
16 Ngunit ang mabuting bunga nitong trigo, ang siyang sa inyo'y ipapakain ko;
at ang gusto ninyong masarap na pulot, ang siyang sa inyo'y aking idudulot.”

1 Een lied van Asaf, op de wijs van 'De Gittit'. Voor de leider van het koor.
2 Jubel voor God! Hij is onze Helper.
Juich voor de God van Jakob.
3 Zing een lied en speel op de tamboerijn.
Speel op de citer en de harp.
4 Blaas op de trompet op alle feesten,
op het feest van de nieuwe maand
en op de andere feestdagen.
5 Want dat is een wet in Israël.
Het is een bevel van de God van Jakob.
6 Hij gaf dat bevel aan het volk toen Hij Israël uit Egypte bevrijdde.
Ik hoorde een onbekende stem zeggen:
7 "Ik heb jullie last van je schouders genomen.
Ik heb de mand met klei uit je handen gehaald.[a]
8 Toen jullie in nood waren,
hebben jullie Mij om hulp geroepen en Ik heb jullie gered.
Ik sprak met jullie in de donder,[b]
Ik stelde jullie op de proef bij de bron van Meriba.[c]
9 Ik zei toen tegen jullie:
Luister, mijn volk, Ik wil jullie ernstig waarschuwen.
Israël, luister alsjeblieft naar Mij!
10 Jullie mogen geen andere goden hebben.
Aanbid geen buitenlandse god.
11 Want Ik, de Heer, ben jullie God.
Ik bevrijdde jullie uit Egypte.
Doe nu jullie mond wijd open,
dan geef Ik jullie te eten.
12 Maar mijn volk wilde niet naar Mij luisteren.
Israël wilde Mij niet gehoorzaam zijn.
13 Ze waren koppig en ongehoorzaam.
Toen liet Ik hen hun gang gaan:
Ik liet hen doen wat ze wilden.
14 Had mijn volk maar naar Mij geluisterd!
Had Israël maar gedaan wat Ik zei!
15 Dan had Ik hun vijanden afgeweerd.
Ik zou met hen hebben afgerekend.
16 Uit angst voor Mij zouden ze doen alsof ze Mij eerden.
Ze zouden voor altijd overwonnen zijn.
17 En Ik zou aan mijn volk eten in overvloed hebben gegeven.
Ik zou hun het allerbeste hebben gegeven, zoveel als ze wilden."

For the director of music. According to gittith.[b] Of Asaph.
1 Sing for joy to God our strength;
shout aloud to the God of Jacob!(A)
2 Begin the music, strike the timbrel,(B)
play the melodious harp(C) and lyre.(D)
3 Sound the ram’s horn(E) at the New Moon,(F)
and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival;
4 this is a decree for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.(G)
5 When God went out against Egypt,(H)
he established it as a statute for Joseph.
I heard an unknown voice say:(I)
6 “I removed the burden(J) from their shoulders;(K)
their hands were set free from the basket.
7 In your distress you called(L) and I rescued you,
I answered(M) you out of a thundercloud;
I tested you at the waters of Meribah.[c](N)
8 Hear me, my people,(O) and I will warn you—
if you would only listen to me, Israel!
9 You shall have no foreign god(P) among you;
you shall not worship any god other than me.
10 I am the Lord your God,
who brought you up out of Egypt.(Q)
Open(R) wide your mouth and I will fill(S) it.
11 “But my people would not listen to me;
Israel would not submit to me.(T)
12 So I gave them over(U) to their stubborn hearts
to follow their own devices.
13 “If my people would only listen to me,(V)
if Israel would only follow my ways,
14 how quickly I would subdue(W) their enemies
and turn my hand against(X) their foes!
15 Those who hate the Lord would cringe(Y) before him,
and their punishment would last forever.
16 But you would be fed with the finest of wheat;(Z)
with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”

A Song for a Holiday
For the director of music. By the gittith. A song of Asaph.
81 Sing for joy to God, our strength.
Shout out loud to the God of Jacob.
2 Begin the music. Play the tambourines.
Play pleasant music on the harps and lyres.
3 Blow the sheep’s horn at the time of the New Moon.
Blow it when the moon is full, when our feast begins.
4 This is the law for Israel.
It is God’s command to the people of Jacob.
5 He made this agreement with the people of Joseph
when they went out of the land of Egypt.
I heard a language I did not know, saying:
6 “I took the load off your shoulders.
I let you put down your baskets.
7 When you were in trouble, you called, and I saved you.
I answered you with thunder.
I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah
8 My people, listen. I am warning you.
Israel, please listen to me!
9 You must not have foreign gods among you.
You must not worship any false god.
10 I, the Lord, am your God.
I brought you out of Egypt.
Open your mouth, and I will feed you.
11 “But my people did not listen to me.
Israel did not want me.
12 So I let them go their stubborn way.
They followed their own advice.
13 I wish my people would listen to me.
I wish Israel would live my way.
14 Then I would quickly defeat their enemies.
I would turn my hand against those who are against them.
15 Those who hate the Lord would bow before him.
Their punishment would continue forever.
16 But I would give you the finest wheat.
I would fill you with honey from the rocks.”
