Matthew 16:18-28
New King James Version
18 And I also say to you that (A)you are Peter, and (B)on this rock I will build My church, and (C)the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it. 19 (D)And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth [b]will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
20 (E)Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection(F)
21 From that time Jesus began (G)to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, [c]“Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, (H)Satan! (I)You are [d]an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Take Up the Cross and Follow Him(J)
24 (K)Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and (L)follow Me. 25 For (M)whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what (N)profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or (O)what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For (P)the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father (Q)with His angels, (R)and then He will reward each according to his works. 28 Assuredly, I say to you, (S)there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”

Matthew 16:18-28
Young's Literal Translation
18 `And I also say to thee, that thou art a rock, and upon this rock I will build my assembly, and gates of Hades shall not prevail against it;
19 and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.'
20 Then did he charge his disciples that they may say to no one that he is Jesus the Christ.
21 From that time began Jesus to shew to his disciples that it is necessary for him to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and to be put to death, and the third day to rise.
22 And having taken him aside, Peter began to rebuke him, saying, `Be kind to thyself, sir; this shall not be to thee;'
23 and he having turned, said to Peter, `Get thee behind me, adversary! thou art a stumbling-block to me, for thou dost not mind the things of God, but the things of men.'
24 Then said Jesus to his disciples, `If any one doth will to come after me, let him disown himself, and take up his cross, and follow me,
25 for whoever may will to save his life, shall lose it, and whoever may lose his life for my sake shall find it,
26 for what is a man profited if he may gain the whole world, but of his life suffer loss? or what shall a man give as an exchange for his life?
27 `For, the Son of Man is about to come in the glory of his Father, with his messengers, and then he will reward each, according to his work.
28 Verily I say to you, there are certain of those standing here who shall not taste of death till they may see the Son of Man coming in his reign.'

18 And I also say to you that you are [a](A)Peter, and upon this [b]rock I will build My church; and the gates of (B)Hades will not overpower it. 19 I will give you (C)the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and (D)whatever you [c]bind on earth [d]shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you [e]loose on earth [f]shall have been loosed in heaven.” 20 (E)Then He gave the disciples strict orders that they were to tell no one that He was (F)the [g]Christ.
Jesus Foretells His Death
21 (G)From that time [h]Jesus began to [i]point out to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem and to (H)suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised up on the third day. 22 And yet Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “[j]God forbid it, Lord! This shall never [k]happen to You!” 23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, (I)Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on [l]God’s purposes, but men’s.”
Discipleship Is Costly
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, (J)take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For (K)whoever wants to save his [m]life will lose it; but whoever loses his [n]life for My sake will find it. 26 For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but [o]forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the (L)Son of Man (M)is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and (N)will then repay every person according to his [p]deeds.
28 “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the (O)Son of Man (P)coming in His kingdom.”
