La Nuova Diodati
22 E Gesú, riprendendo la parola, di nuovo parlò loro in parabole dicendo:
2 «Il regno dei cieli è simile a un re, il quale preparò le nozze di suo figlio.
3 E mandò i suoi servi a chiamare gli invitati alle nozze, ma questi non vollero venire.
4 Di nuovo mandò altri servi dicendo: "Dite agl'invitati: Ecco, io ho apparecchiato il mio pranzo, i miei vitelli e i miei animali ingrassati sono ammazzati ed è tutto pronto; venite alle nozze".
5 Ma essi, non curandosene, se ne andarono chi al proprio campo, chi ai propri affari.
6 E gli altri, presi i suoi servi, li oltraggiarono e li uccisero.
7 Il re allora, udito ciò, si adirò e mandò i suoi eserciti per sterminare quegli omicidi e per incendiare la loro città.
8 Disse quindi ai suoi servi: "Le nozze sono pronte, ma gl'invitati non ne erano degni.
9 Andate dunque agli incroci delle strade e chiamate alle nozze chiunque troverete
10 E quei servi, usciti per le strade, radunarono tutti coloro che trovarono cattivi e buoni, e la sala delle nozze si riempí di commensali.
11 Ora il re, entrato per vedere i commensali, vi trovò un uomo che non indossava l'abito da nozze;
12 e gli disse: "amico come sei entrato qui senza avere l'abito da nozze?" E quegli rimase con la bocca chiusa.
13 Allora il re disse ai servi: "Legatelo mani e piedi, prendetelo e gettatelo nelle tenebre di fuori. Lí sarà il pianto e lo stridor di denti.
14 Poiché molti sono chiamati, ma pochi eletti».
15 Allora i farisei, allontanatisi, si consigliarono sul modo di coglierlo in fallo nelle parole,
16 E gli mandarono i propri discepoli, con gli erodiani, per dirgli: «Maestro, noi sappiamo che tu sei verace e che insegni la via di Dio in verità, senza preoccuparti del giudizio di alcuno, perché tu non riguardi all'apparenza delle persone.
17 Dicci dunque: Che te ne pare? è lecito o no pagare il tributo a Cesare?».
18 Ma Gesú, conoscendo la loro malizia, disse: «Perché mi tentate, ipocriti?
19 Mostratemi la moneta del tributo». Allora essi gli presentarono un denaro.
20 Ed egli disse loro: «Di chi è questa immagine e questa iscrizione?».
21 Essi gli dissero: «Di Cesare». Allora egli disse loro: «Rendete dunque a Cesare ciò che è di Cesare e a Dio ciò che è di Dio».
22 Ed essi, udito ciò, si meravigliarono e, lasciatolo, se ne andarono.
23 In quello stesso giorno vennero da lui i sadducei, i quali dicono che non vi è risurrezione, e lo interrogarono,
24 dicendo: «Maestro, Mosé ha detto: "se qualcuno muore senza avere figli, il suo fratello ne sposi la moglie, per dare una discendenza a suo fratello"
25 Ora, c'erano tra noi sette fratelli, il primo dopo essersi sposato morí e, non avendo discendenza, lasciò la moglie a suo fratello.
26 Cosí anche il secondo e il terzo, fino al settimo.
27 Per ultima, morí anche la donna.
28 Alla risurrezione, dunque, di chi dei sette costei sarà moglie? Poiché tutti l'ebbero come moglie».
29 Ma Gesú, rispondendo, disse loro: «Voi sbagliate, non comprendendo né le Scritture né la potenza di Dio.
30 Nella risurrezione, infatti, né si sposano né sono date in moglie, ma essi saranno in cielo come gli angeli di Dio.
31 Quanto poi alla risurrezione dei morti, non avete letto ciò che vi fu detto da Dio, quando disse:
32 IO sono il Dio di Abrahamo, il Dio d'Isacco e di Giacobbe Dio non è il Dio dei morti, ma dei viventi».
33 E le folle, udite queste cose, stupivano della sua dottrina,
34 Allora i farisei, avendo udito che egli aveva messo a tacere i sadducei, si radunarono insieme.
35 E uno di loro, dottore della legge, lo interrogò per metterlo alla prova, dicendo:
36 «Maestro, qual è il grande comandamento della legge?».
37 E Gesú gli disse: «"ama il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta l'anima tua e con tutta la tua mente".
38 Questo è il primo e il gran comandamento.
39 E il secondo, simile a questo, è: "ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso".
40 Da questi due comandamenti dipendono tutta la legge e i profeti»,
41 Ora, essendo i farisei riuniti, Gesú chiese loro:
42 «Che ve ne pare del Cristo? Di chi è figlio?». Essi gli dissero: «Di Davide».
43 Egli disse loro: «Come mai dunque Davide, per lo Spirito, lo chiama Signore, dicendo:
44 Il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: "Siedi alla mia destra, finché io abbia posto i tuoi nemici come sgabello dei tuoi piedi"?
45 Se dunque Davide lo chiama Signore, come può essere suo figlio?».
46 Ma nessuno era in grado di rispondergli; e, da quel giorno, nessuno osò piú interrogarlo.

22 At muling nagsalita si Jesus sa kanila sa pamamagitan ng mga talinghaga. Sinabi niya, 2 “Ang kaharian ng langit ay maihahalintulad dito: May isang haring naghanda ng isang malaking salu-salo para sa kasal ng kanyang anak na lalaki. 3 Nagsugo siya ng kanyang mga alipin upang tawagin ang mga inanyayahan sa pagdiriwang ng kasalan; subalit ayaw dumalo ng mga inanyayahan. 4 Muli siyang nagsugo ng ibang mga alipin. Ibinilin sa kanila, ‘Sabihin ninyo sa mga inanyayahan: Narito, naihanda ko na ang aking piging. Ang aking mga baka at matatabang guya ay kinatay na at nakahanda na ang lahat. Halina kayo sa pagdiriwang para sa kasal.’ 5 Ngunit hindi nila ito pinansin, sa halip ay umalis, ang isa'y pumunta sa kanyang bukirin, at ang isa nama'y sa kanyang pangangalakal. 6 Bigla namang hinawakan ng iba ang mga alipin ng hari, ipinahiya ang mga ito at pinagpapatay. 7 Ikinagalit ito ng hari, kaya't sinugo niya ang kanyang mga kawal, nilipol ang mga mamamatay-taong iyon, at sinunog ang kanilang lungsod. 8 Pagkatapos, sinabi niya sa kanyang mga alipin, ‘Handa na ang piging ng kasal, ngunit hindi karapat-dapat ang mga inanyayahan. 9 Kaya pumunta kayo sa mga panulukan ng mga lansangan at kahit sinong makita ninyo ay anyayahan ninyo sa pagdiriwang ng kasal.’ 10 Lumabas nga ang mga aliping iyon sa mga lansangan, at kanilang tinipon ang lahat ng natagpuan nila, masama man o mabuti; kaya't napuno ng mga panauhin ang pinagdarausan ng kasalan.
11 “Subalit nang pumasok ang hari upang tingnan ang mga panauhin, napansin niya roon ang isang taong hindi nakasuot ng damit pangkasalan. 12 At sinabi niya sa kanya, ‘Kaibigan, paano ka nakapasok dito na hindi nakadamit pangkasalan?’ Hindi nakasagot ang taong iyon. 13 Kaya't (B) sinabi ng hari sa mga lingkod, ‘Gapusin ninyo ang kanyang mga paa't mga kamay, at ihagis ninyo siya sa labas, doon sa kadiliman. Doon ay magkakaroon ng pagtangis at pagngangalit ng mga ngipin.’ 14 Sapagkat marami ang tinawag, ngunit kakaunti ang pinili.”

15 Pagkatapos nito'y umalis ang mga Fariseo at nagbalak kung paanong mabibitag si Jesus sa kanyang salita. 16 Sinugo nila sa kanya ang kanilang mga alagad, kasama ng mga kakampi ni Herodes. Kanilang sinabi, “Guro, alam naming ikaw ay totoo, at nagtuturo ka ng daan ng Diyos batay sa katotohanan at wala kang kinikilingang sinuman, sapagkat hindi ka tumitingin sa panlabas na anyo ng tao. 17 Sabihin mo sa amin, ano sa palagay mo, sang-ayon ba sa batas na magbayad ng buwis sa Emperador, o hindi?” 18 Subalit alam ni Jesus ang kanilang masamang balak, kaya't sinabi niya, “Bakit inilalagay ninyo ako sa pagsubok? Kayong mga mapagkunwari! 19 Ipakita ninyo sa akin ang salaping pambuwis.” At iniabot sa kanya ang isang denaryo. 20 Sila'y tinanong niya, “Kaninong larawan at pangalan ang nakasulat dito?” 21 Sinabi nila sa kanya, “Sa Emperador.” Kaya't sinabi niya sa kanila, “Kung gayo'y ibigay ninyo sa Emperador ang sa Emperador at sa Diyos ang sa Diyos.” 22 Nang marinig nila ito ay napahanga sila. Siya'y kanilang iniwan at sila'y umalis.
Katanungan tungkol sa Muling Pagkabuhay(D)
23 Nang (E) araw ding iyon ay lumapit kay Jesus (F) ang mga Saduceo. Sa paniniwala nilang walang muling pagkabuhay, 24 sinabi nila, “Guro, sinabi ni Moises, ‘Kung mamatay ang isang lalaking walang anak, dapat pakasalan ng kanyang kapatid na lalaki ang kanyang asawa, at magkaroon ng mga anak para sa kanyang kapatid na lalaki.’ 25 ‘Mayroon sa aming pitong magkakapatid na lalaki. Nag-asawa ang panganay at siya'y namatay. At dahil hindi siya nagkaroon ng anak ay naiwan niya ang kanyang asawa sa kanyang kapatid na lalaki. 26 Ganoon din ang nangyari sa ikalawa at sa ikatlo, hanggang sa ikapito. 27 At pagkamatay nilang lahat, namatay ang babae. 28 Sa muling pagkabuhay, sino kaya sa pito ang magiging asawa ng babae, gayong siya'y naging asawa nilang lahat?” 29 Sumagot si Jesus sa kanila, “Nagkakamali kayo, sapagkat hindi ninyo nauunawaan ang mga Kasulatan, o ang kapangyarihan ng Diyos. 30 Sapagkat sa muling pagkabuhay, ang mga tao ay hindi na mag-aasawa o pag-aasawahin pa kundi sila'y magiging katulad ng mga anghel sa langit. 31 At tungkol sa muling pagkabuhay ng mga patay, hindi pa ba ninyo nababasa ang sinabi sa inyo ng Diyos? Sabi niya, 32 ‘Ako (G) ang Diyos ni Abraham, at ang Diyos ni Isaac, at ang Diyos ni Jacob.’ Siya ay hindi Diyos ng mga patay, kundi ng mga buháy.” 33 Nang marinig ito ng maraming tao, sila'y namangha sa kanyang itinuturo.
Ang Dakilang Utos(H)
34 Subalit nang mabalitaan ng mga Fariseo na napatahimik ni Jesus ang mga Saduceo, sila'y nagpulong. 35 At isa sa kanila, na isang dalubhasa sa Kautusan, ay nagtanong sa kanya upang siya'y subukin. 36 “Guro, alin po ba ang pinakadakilang utos sa Kautusan?” 37 At (I) sinabi niya sa kanya, “Ibigin mo ang Panginoon mong Diyos nang buong puso, nang buong kaluluwa, at nang buong pag-iisip. 38 Ito ang dakila at pangunahing utos. 39 At katulad nito (J) ang pangalawa, ‘Ibigin mo ang iyong kapwa gaya ng iyong sarili.’ 40 Nakabatay sa (K) dalawang utos na ito ang buong Kautusan at ang mga propeta.”
Nagtanong si Jesus tungkol sa Anak ni David(L)
41 Habang nagkakatipon ang ilang mga Fariseo ay nagtanong sa kanila si Jesus. 42 Sabi niya, “Ano ang palagay ninyo tungkol sa Cristo? Kanino ba siyang anak?” Sumagot sila, “Kay David.” 43 Sinabi niya sa kanila, “Kung gayo'y bakit noong si David ay nasa Espiritu ay tumatawag sa kanya ng Panginoon, na nagsasabi,
44 ‘Sinabi (M) ng Panginoon sa aking Panginoon,
“Maupo ka sa aking kanan,
hanggang sa mailagay ko sa ilalim ng iyong mga paa ang iyong mga kaaway” ’?
45 Kung tinawag siya ni David na Panginoon, paano siya magiging anak nito?” 46 Walang nakasagot sa kanya ni isa mang salita, at mula nang araw na iyon ay wala na ring nangahas pang magtanong sa kanya ng anuman.

The Parable of the Wedding Feast(A)
22 And Jesus answered (B)and spoke to them again by parables and said: 2 “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, 3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. 4 Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; (C)my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’ 5 But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. 6 And the rest seized his servants, treated them [a]spitefully, and killed them. 7 But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out (D)his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not (E)worthy. 9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ 10 So those servants went out into the highways and (F)gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there (G)who did not have on a wedding garment. 12 So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was (H)speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, [b]take him away, and cast him (I)into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The Pharisees: Is It Lawful to Pay Taxes to Caesar?(K)
15 (L)Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk. 16 And they sent to Him their disciples with the (M)Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not [c]regard the person of men. 17 Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
18 But Jesus [d]perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? 19 Show Me the tax money.”
So they brought Him a denarius.
20 And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?”
21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.”
And He said to them, (N)“Render[e] therefore to Caesar the things that are (O)Caesar’s, and to God the things that are (P)God’s.” 22 When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.
The Sadducees: What About the Resurrection?(Q)
23 (R)The same day the Sadducees, (S)who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, 24 saying: “Teacher, (T)Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. 27 Last of all the woman died also. 28 Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are [f]mistaken, (U)not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but (V)are like angels [g]of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 (W)‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” 33 And when the multitudes heard this, (X)they were astonished at His teaching.

37 Jesus said to him, (AB)“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: (AC)‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 (AD)On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Jesus: How Can David Call His Descendant Lord?(AE)
41 (AF)While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?”
They said to Him, “The (AG)Son of David.”
43 He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying:
44 ‘The(AH) Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” ’?
45 If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” 46 (AI)And no one was able to answer Him a word, (AJ)nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.
