⁷Jesus said to him again, `It hath been written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.'

⁷Jesus said to him, “^[a]On the other hand, it is written: ‘^(A)You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

⁷Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’^[a]”^(A)
