Първосвещеническата молитва на Исус Христос
17 (A)Като изрече това, Исус вдигна очите Си към небето и каза: Отче, настана часът; прославѝ Сина Си, за да Те прослави и Синът Ти,
2 (B)както си Му дал власт над всяко създание да даде вечен живот на всички, които си Му дал.
3 (C)А това е вечен живот, да познаят Теб, единствения истинен Бог, и Исус Христос, Когото си изпратил.
4 (D)Аз те прославих на земята, като извърших делото, което Ти Ми даде да върша.
5 (E)И сега, прославѝ Ме, Отче, у Себе Си със славата, която имах у Тебе преди създанието на света.
6 (F)Изявих името Ти на човеците, които Ми даде от света. Те бяха Твои и Ти ги даде на Мен, и те опазиха Твоето слово.
7 Сега знаят, че всичко, което си Ми дал, е от Тебе;
8 (G)защото думите, които Ми даде Ти, Аз ги предадох на тях и те ги приеха; и наистина знаят, че излязох от Теб, и вярват, че Ти си Ме пратил.
9 (H)Аз за тях се моля; не се моля за света, а за тези, които си Ми дал, защото са Твои.
10 (I)И всичко Мое е Твое, и Твоето – Мое, и Аз се прославям в тях.
11 (J)Не съм вече на света, а тези са на света; и Аз идвам при Теб, Отче святи; опази в името Си тези, които си Ми дал, за да бъдат едно, както сме и Ние едно.
12 (K)Докато бях с тях, Аз пазех в Твоето име тези, които Ми даде, опазих ги и нито един от тях не погина, освен сина на погибелта, за да се изпълни Писанието.
13 А сега идвам при Тебе; но докато съм още на света, казвам това, за да имат Моята радост пълна в себе си.
14 (L)Аз им предадох Твоето слово; и светът ги намрази, защото те не са от света, както и Аз не съм от него.
15 (M)Не се моля да ги вземеш от света, но да ги пазиш от лукавия.
16 (N)Те не са от света, както и Аз не съм от света.
17 (O)Освети ги чрез истината; Твоето слово е истина.
18 (P)Както Ти прати Мене в света, така и Аз пратих тях в света;
19 (Q)и заради тях Аз освещавам Себе Си, за да бъдат и те осветени чрез истината.
20 И не само за тях се моля, но и за онези, които биха повярвали в Мене чрез тяхното учение,
21 (R)да бъдат всички едно; както Ти, Отче, си в Мен и Аз в Тебе, така и те да бъдат в Нас едно, за да повярва светът, че Ти си Ме пратил.
22 (S)И славата, която Ти Ми даде, Аз я дадох на тях; за да бъдат едно, както и Ние сме едно;
23 (T)Аз в тях и Ти в Мене, за да бъдат съвършени в единство; за да познае светът, че Ти си Ме пратил и си възлюбил тях, както си възлюбил Мен.
24 (U)Отче, желая където съм Аз, да бъдат с Мен и тези, които си Ми дал, за да гледат Моята слава, която си Ми дал; защото си Ме възлюбил преди създанието на света.
25 (V)Отче праведни, светът не Те е познал, но Аз Те познах; и тези познаха, че Ти си Ме пратил.
26 (W)И им изявих Твоето име и ще им го изявя, та любовта, с която си Ме възлюбил, да бъде в тях и Аз в тях.
Залавянето на Исус Христос
18 (X)Като изрече това, Исус излезе с учениците Си отвъд потока Кедрон, където имаше градина, в която влезе Той и учениците Му.
2 (Y)А и Юда, който Го предаваше, знаеше това място; защото Исус често се събираше там с учениците Си.
3 (Z)И така, Юда, като взе една дружина войници и служители от главните свещеници и фарисеите, дойде там с фенери, факли и оръжия.
4 А Исус, като знаеше всичко, което щеше да Го сполети, излезе и им каза: Кого търсите?
5 Отговориха му: Исус Назарянина. Исус им каза: Аз съм. С тях стоеше и Юда, който Го предаваше.
6 И когато им каза: Аз съм, те се дръпнаха назад и паднаха на земята.
7 Пак ги попита: Кого търсите? А те казаха: Исус Назарянина.
8 (AA)Исус отговори: Казах ви, че съм Аз. И така, ако търсите Мен, оставете тези да си отидат;
9 (AB)за да се изпълни словото, изречено от Него: От тези, които си Ми дал, нито един не изгубих.
10 (AC)А Симон Петър, който имаше меч, измъкна го, удари слугата на първосвещеника и му отсече дясното ухо; а името на слугата беше Малх.
11 (AD)Тогава Исус каза на Петър: Сложи меча в ножницата. Чашата, която ми даде Отец, да не я ли пия?
12 И така, дружината, хилядникът и юдейските служители хванаха Исус и Го вързаха.
Съдът пред първосвещениците. Отричането на Петър
13 (AE)И Го заведоха първо при Анна; защото той беше тъст на Каяфа, който беше първосвещеник през тази година.
14 (AF)А Каяфа беше онзи, който беше съветвал юдеите, че е по-добре един човек да загине за народа.
15 (AG)И след Исус вървяха Симон Петър и един друг ученик; и този ученик, като беше познат на първосвещеника, влезе с Исус в двора на първосвещеника.
16 (AH)А Петър стоеше вън до вратата; и така, другият ученик, който беше познат на първосвещеника, излезе и говори с жената, поставена при входа, и въведе Петър.
17 (AI)И слугинята при входа каза на Петър: И ти ли си от учениците на Този Човек? Той каза: Не съм.
Исус Христос на съд пред Пилат
18 А слугите и служителите бяха запалили огън, защото беше студено, и стояха и се грееха; и Петър стоеше с тях и се грееше.
19 А първосвещеникът попита Исус за учениците Му и за учението Му.
20 (AJ)Исус му отговори: Аз говорих открито на света, винаги поучавах в синагогите и в храма, където всички юдеи се събират, и нищо не съм говорил скришом.
21 Защо питаш Мене? Питай онези, които са Ме слушали, какво съм им говорил; ето, те знаят какво съм казал.
22 (AK)Когато каза това, един от служителите, който стоеше наблизо, удари плесница на Исус и каза: Така ли отговаряш на първосвещеника?
23 Исус му отговори: Ако съм казал нещо зло, посочи злото; но ако е добро, защо ме биеш?
24 (AL)Тогава Анна Го прати вързан при първосвещеника Каяфа.
25 (AM)А Симон Петър стоеше и се грееше; и го попитаха: Не си ли и ти от Неговите ученици? Той отрече, като каза: Не съм.
26 Един от слугите на първосвещеника, сродник на онзи, на когото Петър отсече ухото, каза: Нали те видях в градината с Него?
27 (AN)И Петър пак се отрече; и на часа пропя петел.
28 (AO)Тогава поведоха Исус от Каяфа в преторията; а беше рано. Но самите те не влязоха в преторията, за да не се осквернят и така да могат да ядат пасхата.
29 Затова Пилат излезе при тях и попита: В какво обвинявате Този Човек?
30 Те му отговориха: Ако Той не беше злодей, нямаше да ти Го предадем.
31 А Пилат им каза: Вземете Го вие и Го съдете според вашия закон. Юдеите му казаха: На нас не е позволено да погубваме никого;
32 (AP)за да се изпълни словото, което изрече Исус, като посочваше с каква смърт ще умре.
33 (AQ)И така, Пилат пак влезе в преторията, повика Исус и Го попита: Ти Юдейският Цар ли си?
34 Исус отговори: От себе си ли казваш това или други са ти говорили за Мене?
35 Пилат отговори: Че аз юдеин ли съм? Твоят народ и главните свещеници Те предадоха на мене. Какво си направил?
36 (AR)Исус отговори: Моето царство не е от този свят; ако царството Ми беше от този свят, служителите Ми щяха да се борят да не бъда предаден на юдеите. Но сега царството Ми не е оттук.
37 (AS)Затова Пилат Му каза: Тогава Ти цар ли си? Исус отговори: Ти сам казваш, че съм цар. Аз затова се родих и затова дойдох на света, да свидетелствам за истината. Всеки, който е от истината, слуша Моя глас.
38 (AT)Пилат Му каза: Що е истина? И като каза това, пак излезе при юдеите и им заяви: Аз не намирам никаква вина у Него.
39 (AU)Но при вас има обичай да ви пускам по един на Пасхата; и така, желаете ли да ви пусна Юдейския Цар?
40 (AV)Тогава те пак закрещяха и казваха: Не Този, но Варава. А Варава беше разбойник.

Jesus Prays to Be Glorified
17 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven(A) and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come.(B) Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.(C) 2 For you granted him authority over all people(D) that he might give eternal life(E) to all those you have given him.(F) 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you,(G) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.(H) 4 I have brought you glory(I) on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.(J) 5 And now, Father, glorify me(K) in your presence with the glory I had with you(L) before the world began.(M)
Jesus Prays for His Disciples
6 “I have revealed you[a](N) to those whom you gave me(O) out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me(P) and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you,(Q) and they believed that you sent me.(R) 9 I pray for them.(S) I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me,(T) for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine.(U) And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world,(V) and I am coming to you.(W) Holy Father, protect them by the power of[b] your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one(X) as we are one.(Y) 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by[c] that name you gave me. None has been lost(Z) except the one doomed to destruction(AA) so that Scripture would be fulfilled.(AB)
13 “I am coming to you now,(AC) but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy(AD) within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them,(AE) for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.(AF) 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.(AG) 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.(AH) 17 Sanctify them by[d] the truth; your word is truth.(AI) 18 As you sent me into the world,(AJ) I have sent them into the world.(AK) 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.(AL)
Jesus Prays for All Believers
20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one,(AM) Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.(AN) May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.(AO) 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me,(AP) that they may be one as we are one(AQ)— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me(AR) and have loved them(AS) even as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me(AT) to be with me where I am,(AU) and to see my glory,(AV) the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.(AW)
25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you,(AX) I know you, and they know that you have sent me.(AY) 26 I have made you[e] known to them,(AZ) and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them(BA) and that I myself may be in them.”
Jesus Arrested(BB)
18 When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley.(BC) On the other side there was a garden,(BD) and he and his disciples went into it.(BE)
2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.(BF) 3 So Judas came to the garden, guiding(BG) a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees.(BH) They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.
4 Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him,(BI) went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?”(BJ)
5 “Jesus of Nazareth,”(BK) they replied.
“I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) 6 When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7 Again he asked them, “Who is it you want?”(BL)
“Jesus of Nazareth,” they said.
8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” 9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”[f](BM)
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup(BN) the Father has given me?”
12 Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials(BO) arrested Jesus. They bound him 13 and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas,(BP) the high priest that year. 14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people.(BQ)
Peter’s First Denial(BR)
15 Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest,(BS) he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard,(BT) 16 but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the servant girl on duty there and brought Peter in.
17 “You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” she asked Peter.
He replied, “I am not.”(BU)
18 It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire(BV) they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.(BW)
The High Priest Questions Jesus(BX)
19 Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.
20 “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied. “I always taught in synagogues(BY) or at the temple,(BZ) where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.(CA) 21 Why question me? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said.”
22 When Jesus said this, one of the officials(CB) nearby slapped him in the face.(CC) “Is this the way you answer the high priest?” he demanded.
23 “If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?”(CD) 24 Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas(CE) the high priest.
Peter’s Second and Third Denials(CF)
25 Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself.(CG) So they asked him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?”
He denied it, saying, “I am not.”(CH)
26 One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off,(CI) challenged him, “Didn’t I see you with him in the garden?”(CJ) 27 Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.(CK)
Jesus Before Pilate(CL)
28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor.(CM) By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace,(CN) because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.(CO) 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”
31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”
“But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected. 32 This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die.(CP)
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace,(CQ) summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”(CR)
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom(CS) is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders.(CT) But now my kingdom is from another place.”(CU)
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.(CV) Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”(CW)
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.(CX) 39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?”
40 They shouted back, “No, not him! Give us Barabbas!” Now Barabbas had taken part in an uprising.(CY)
