12 (A)While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have (B)guarded them, and (C)not one of them has been lost except (D)the son of destruction, (E)that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now (F)I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have (G)my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 (H)I have given them your word, and (I)the world has hated them (J)because they are not of the world, (K)just as I am not of the world. 15 I (L)do not ask that you (M)take them out of the world, but that you (N)keep them from (O)the evil one.[a] 16 (P)They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 (Q)Sanctify them[b] in the truth; (R)your word is truth. 18 (S)As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And (T)for their sake (U)I consecrate myself,[c] that they also (V)may be sanctified[d] in truth.

20 “I do not (W)ask for these only, but also for those (X)who will believe in me through their word, 21 (Y)that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that (Z)they also may be in (AA)us, so that the world (AB)may believe that you have sent me. 22 (AC)The glory that you have given me (AD)I have given to them, (AE)that they may be one even as we are one, 23 (AF)I in them and you in me, (AG)that they may become perfectly one, (AH)so that the world may know that you sent me and (AI)loved them even as (AJ)you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be (AK)with me (AL)where I am, (AM)to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me (AN)before the foundation of the world. 25 (AO)O righteous Father, even though (AP)the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 (AQ)I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love (AR)with which you have loved me may be in them, and (AS)I in them.”

12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by[a] that name you gave me. None has been lost(A) except the one doomed to destruction(B) so that Scripture would be fulfilled.(C)

13 “I am coming to you now,(D) but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy(E) within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them,(F) for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.(G) 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.(H) 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.(I) 17 Sanctify them by[b] the truth; your word is truth.(J) 18 As you sent me into the world,(K) I have sent them into the world.(L) 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.(M)

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one,(N) Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.(O) May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.(P) 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me,(Q) that they may be one as we are one(R) 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me(S) and have loved them(T) even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me(U) to be with me where I am,(V) and to see my glory,(W) the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.(X)

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you,(Y) I know you, and they know that you have sent me.(Z) 26 I have made you[c] known to them,(AA) and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them(AB) and that I myself may be in them.”
