²⁵ Jesus said to her, “I am ^(A)the resurrection and the life. ^(B)He who believes in Me, though he may ^(C)die, he shall live.

^14 (A)And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so ^(B)must the Son of Man be lifted up, ¹⁵ that whoever ^(C)believes in Him should ^[a]not perish but ^(D)have eternal life. ^16 (E)For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten ^(F)Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

¹⁴ but ^(A)whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him ^(B)will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

⁴⁰ And this is the will of Him who sent Me, ^(A)that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

⁴⁷ Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)he who believes ^[a]in Me has everlasting life. ^48 (B)I am the bread of life. ^49 (C)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. ^50 (D)This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(E)which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and ^(F)the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

⁵² The Jews therefore ^(G)quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”

⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless ^(H)you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. ^54 (I)Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is ^[b]food indeed, and My blood is ^[c]drink indeed. ⁵⁶ He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood ^(J)abides in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. ^58 (K)This is the bread which came down from heaven—not ^(L)as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

14 “Let ^(A)not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. ² In My Father’s house are many ^[a]mansions; if it were not so, ^[b]I would have told you. ^(B)I go to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, ^(C)I will come again and receive you to Myself; that ^(D)where I am, there you may be also. ⁴ And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

^5 (E)Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am ^(F)the way, ^(G)the truth, and ^(H)the life. ^(I)No one comes to the Father ^(J)except through Me.
