James 5:7-20
English Standard Version
Patience in Suffering
7 Be patient, therefore, brothers,[a] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives (A)the early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. (B)Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord (C)is at hand. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers, (D)so that you may not be judged; behold, (E)the Judge is standing (F)at the door. 10 As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take (G)the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of (H)the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen (I)the purpose of the Lord, how (J)the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
12 But above all, my brothers, (K)do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
The Prayer of Faith
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him (L)sing praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, (M)anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And (N)if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, (O)confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, (P)that you may be healed. (Q)The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.[b] 17 Elijah was a man (R)with a nature like ours, and (S)he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for (T)three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 (U)Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.
19 My brothers, (V)if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone (W)brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering (X)will save his soul from death and (Y)will cover a multitude of sins.

James 5:7-20
New International Version
Patience in Suffering
7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming.(A) See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting(B) for the autumn and spring rains.(C) 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming(D) is near.(E) 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters,(F) or you will be judged. The Judge(G) is standing at the door!(H)
10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets(I) who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we count as blessed(J) those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance(K) and have seen what the Lord finally brought about.(L) The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.(M)
12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.(N)
The Prayer of Faith
13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.(O) Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.(P) 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders(Q) of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil(R) in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith(S) will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins(T) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.(U) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.(V)
17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are.(W) He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.(X) 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.(Y)
19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth(Z) and someone should bring that person back,(AA) 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save(AB) them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.(AC)
James 5:7-20
King James Version
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
