²⁴Therefore -- the affirmation of the Lord -- Jehovah of Hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: Ah, I am eased of Mine adversaries, And I am avenged of Mine enemies,

²⁵And I turn back My hand upon thee, And I refine as purity thy dross, And I turn aside all thy tin,

²⁶And I give back thy judges as at the first, And thy counsellors as in the beginning, After this thou art called, `A city of righteousness -- a faithful city.'

²⁴Therefore the Lord, the Lord Almighty,
    the Mighty One^(A) of Israel, declares:
“Ah! I will vent my wrath on my foes
    and avenge^(B) myself on my enemies.^(C)
²⁵I will turn my hand against you;^[a]^(D)
    I will thoroughly purge^(E) away your dross^(F)
    and remove all your impurities.^(G)
²⁶I will restore your leaders as in days of old,^(H)
    your rulers as at the beginning.
Afterward you will be called^(I)
    the City of Righteousness,^(J)
    the Faithful City.^(K)”
