Appointing the Priests
29 “This is what you must do to appoint Aaron and his sons. Then they may serve me as priests. Take one young bull and two male sheep that have nothing wrong with them. 2 Use fine wheat flour without yeast to make bread and cakes mixed with olive oil. Also use wheat flour without yeast to make wafers brushed with olive oil. 3 Put these in one basket. Bring them in the basket along with the bull and two male sheep. 4 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Meeting Tent. Then wash them with water. 5 Take the clothes. Dress Aaron in the inner robe and the outer robe of the holy vest. Then put on him the holy vest and the chest covering. Then tie the holy vest on him with its skillfully woven belt. 6 Put the turban on his head. Put the holy crown, the strip of gold, on the turban. 7 Take the special olive oil and pour it on his head to make him a priest.
8 “Then bring his sons and put the inner robes on them. 9 Put the headbands on their heads. Then tie cloth belts around their waists. Aaron and his descendants will be priests in Israel. This is by a rule that will continue from now on. This is how you will appoint Aaron and his sons as priests.
10 “Bring the bull to the front of the Meeting Tent. Aaron and his sons must put their hands on the bull’s head. 11 Then kill the bull before the Lord at the entrance to the Meeting Tent. 12 Take some of the bull’s blood and go to the altar. Use your finger to put some blood on the corners of the altar. Pour the blood that is left at the bottom of the altar. 13 Then take all the fat that covers the inner organs. Take the best part of the liver, and take both kidneys and the fat around them. Burn these on the altar. 14 Take the bull’s meat, skin and intestines. Burn these things outside the camp. This is an offering to take away sin.
15 “Take one of the male sheep. Have Aaron and his sons put their hands on its head. 16 Then kill that male sheep. Take its blood and sprinkle it on all four sides of the altar. 17 Then cut the male sheep into pieces. Wash its inner organs and its legs. Put them with its head and its other pieces. 18 Burn the whole male sheep on the altar. It is a burnt offering made by fire to the Lord. Its smell is pleasing to the Lord.
19 “Take the other male sheep. Have Aaron and his sons put their hands on its head. 20 Kill that male sheep and take some of its blood. Put it on the bottom of the right ears of Aaron and his sons. Also put it on the thumbs of their right hands. And put it on the big toes of their right feet. Then sprinkle the rest of the blood against all four sides of the altar. 21 Then take some of the blood from the altar. Mix it with the special oil used in appointing priests. Sprinkle this on Aaron and his clothes. And sprinkle this on his sons and their clothes. This will show that Aaron and his sons and their clothes are given to my service.
22 “Then take the fat from the male sheep. Take the fat tail and the fat that covers the inner organs. Take the best part of the liver. Take both kidneys and the fat around them and the right thigh. This is the male sheep to be used in appointing priests.
23 “Then take the basket of bread that you made without yeast. This is the basket you put before the Lord. From it take a loaf of bread, a cake made with olive oil and a wafer. 24 Put these in the hands of Aaron and his sons. Tell them to present these things in their hands before the Lord. This will be an offering presented to the Lord. 25 Then take them from their hands. Burn them on the altar with the whole burnt offering. This is an offering made by fire to the Lord. Its smell is pleasing to the Lord. 26 Then take the breast of the male sheep used to appoint Aaron as priest. Present the breast of the male sheep before the Lord. It is an offering presented to the Lord. This part of the animal will be your share. 27 Then give to the service of the Lord the parts of the male sheep used to appoint them as priests. They belong to Aaron and his sons. They are the breast and the right thigh. These were presented to the Lord. 28 This is to be the regular share which the Israelites will always give to Aaron and his sons. This is the gift the Israelites must give to the Lord from their fellowship offerings.
29 “The holy clothes made for Aaron will belong to his descendants. They must wear these clothes when they are appointed as priests. 30 Aaron’s son will become high priest after Aaron. He will come to the Meeting Tent to serve in the Holy Place. He is to wear these clothes for seven days.
31 “Take the male sheep used to appoint priests. Boil its meat in a place made holy for serving me. 32 Then Aaron and his sons must eat the meat of the male sheep. They must do that at the entrance of the Meeting Tent. And they must also eat the bread that is in the basket. 33 These offerings were used to remove their sins when they were made priests so they would belong to God. Now they should eat these offerings. But no one else is to eat these things because they are holy. 34 If any of the meat from that male sheep or any of the bread is left the next morning, it must be burned. It shall not be eaten because it is holy.
35 “Do all these things that I commanded you to do to Aaron and his sons. You are to spend seven days appointing them. 36 Each day for seven days you are to offer a bull. This will remove the sins of Aaron and his sons so they will be given for service to the Lord. Make the altar ready for service to the Lord. Pour oil on it to make it holy. 37 Spend seven days making the altar ready for service to God and making it holy. Then the altar will become very holy. Anything that touches it must be holy.
The Daily Sacrifices
38 “Every day from now on, offer on the altar two lambs that are one year old. 39 Offer one lamb in the morning and the other in the evening. 40 In the morning, when you offer the first lamb, offer also two quarts of fine flour. Mix it with one quart of oil from pressed olives. Pour out a quart of wine as a drink offering. 41 Offer the second lamb in the evening. Also offer the same grain offering and drink offering as you did in the morning. This is an offering by fire to the Lord. And its smell is pleasing to the Lord.
42 “You must burn these things as an offering to the Lord every day. Do this at the entrance of the Meeting Tent before the Lord from now on. When you make the offering, I, the Lord, will meet you there and speak to you. 43 I will meet with the people of Israel there. And that place will be holy because of my greatness.
44 “So I will make the Meeting Tent and the altar holy. And I will make Aaron and his sons holy so they may serve me as priests. 45 I will live with the people of Israel. I will be their God. 46 And they will know that I am the Lord their God. They will know that I am the one who led them out of Egypt. I did this so I could live with them. I am the Lord their God.

4 “تب ہا رو ن اور اُس کے بیٹوں کو خیمہٴ اجتماع کے دروا زہ کے سامنے لا ؤ پھر انہیں پانی سے نہلا ؤ۔ 5 ہا رون کی خاص پو شاک اسے پہنا ؤ۔ سفید اور نیلا چوغہ اور ایفود پھر اُس پر عدل کا سینہ بند پھر خاص کمر بند باندھو۔ 6 اور پھر اُ سکے سر پر پگڑی باندھو سونے کی پٹی جو ایک خاص تاج کے جیسی ہے پگڑی کے چاروں طرف باندھو۔ 7 اور اس کے سر پر زیتون کا تیل ڈا لو جو ظا ہر کرے گا کہ ہا رون اُ سکام کے لئے چُنا گیا ہے۔
8 “تب اُ س کے بیٹوں کو اُ س جگہ پر لا ؤ اور انہیں چغے پہناؤ۔ 9 تب اُن کی کمر کے اطراف کمر بند باندھو انہیں پہننے کو پگڑی دو اس وقت سے وہ کا ہنوں کی طرح کام کر نا شروع کریں گے۔ اُ س قانون کے مطا بق جو ہمیشہ رہے گا وہ کا ہن ہو ں گے۔ اسی طریقے سے تم ہا رون اور اس کے بیٹوں کو کاہن بنا ؤ گے۔
10 “تب خیمہٴ اجتماع کے سامنے کی جگہ پر بچھڑے کو لا ؤ ہا رون اور اُ سکے بیٹوں کو چاہئے کہ وہ بچھڑے کے سر پر ہا تھ رکھیں۔ 11 پھر اُ س بچھڑ ے کو خیمٴہ اجتماع کے دروا زے پر خداوند کے سامنے ذبح کر دیں۔ 12 تب بچھڑے کا خون لو اور قربان گاہ تک جا ؤ اپنی انگلی سے قربان گا ہ پر لگے سینگوں میں خون لگا ؤ۔ سارے خون کو قربان گاہ کی بنیاد پر ضرور ڈالنا چاہئے۔ 13 تب بچھڑے سے ساری چربی نکالو پھر کلیجہ کے چاروں طرف کی چربی اور دونوں گردو ں اور اُ س کے اطراف کی چربی لو اور اس چربی کو قربانگاہ پر جلا ؤ۔ 14 تب بچھڑے کا گوشت اس کے چمڑے اور اس کے دوسرے اعضاء کو لو اور اپنے خیمہ سے با ہر جا ؤ۔ ان چیزوں کو خیمہ کے با ہر جلا ؤ یہ نذرانے ہیں جو کا ہنوں کے گنا ہوں کو دور کر نے کے لئے چڑھا ئے جا تے ہیں۔ 15 “تب ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کو کسی ایک مینڈھے کے سر پر ہاتھ رکھنے کو کہو۔ 16 تب اس مینڈھے کو ذبح کرو اور اسکے خون کو لو خون کو قربان گاہ کے چاروں طرف چھڑ کو۔ 17 تب مینڈھے کو کئی ٹکڑوں میں کاٹو۔ مینڈھے کے اندر کے سب اعضا ء اور پیروں کو صاف کرو۔ ان چیزوں کو سر اور مینڈھے کے دوسرے ٹکڑوں کے ساتھ رکھو۔ 18 تب قربان گاہ پر پو رے مینڈھے کو جلاؤ یہ جلانے کا نذ رانہ ہے جو خدا وند کے لئے تحفہ کی طرح ہے۔ اس کی بو خدا وند کو خوش کرے گی۔
19 “ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کو دوسرے مینڈھے پر ہاتھ رکھنے کو کہو۔ 20 اس مینڈھے کو ذبح کرو اور اس کا تھوڑا خون لو اس خون کو ہارون اور اس کے بیٹوں کے دائیں کان کے نچلے حصّے میں ، ان کے دائیں ہاتھ کے انگوٹھے پر اور انکے دائیں پیر کے انگوٹھے پر لگاؤ۔ باقی خون کو قربان گاہ کے اطراف چھڑ کو۔ 21 تب قربان گاہ سے تھوڑا خون لو۔ اور اسے مخصوص تیل میں ملاؤ اور اس کو ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں اور انکے لباس پر چھڑکو۔ یہ اُن تمام لوگوں کو ہارون کے ساتھ مقدس بنائے گا۔
22 “تب اس مینڈھے سے چربی لو یہ وہی مینڈھا ہے جس کا استعمال ہارون کو اعلیٰ کاہن بنانے کے لئے ہوگا۔ دُم کے چاروں طرف کی چربی اور اس چربی کو لو جو جسم کے اندر کے اعضاء کو ڈھانکتی ہے کلیجہ ڈھانکنے والی چربی کو لو دونوں گردوں اور دائیں پیر کو لو۔ 23 تب اس روٹی کی ٹوکری کو لو جس میں تم نے بے خمیری روٹیاں رکھیں تھی۔ یہی وہ ٹوکری ہے جسے تمہیں خدا وند کے سامنے رکھنا ہے ان روٹیوں کو ٹوکری سے باہر نکالو ، ایک سادی روٹی ، ایک تیل سے بنی اور ایک چھو ٹی پتلی چپڑی ہو ئی۔ 24 تب اس کو ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کو دو۔ پھر ان سے کہو کہ وہ خدا وند کے سامنے انہیں اپنے ہاتھوں میں اٹھا ئیں یہ خدا وند کے لئے خاص نذر ہو گی۔ 25 تب ان روٹیوں کو ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں سے لو اور انہیں قربان گاہ پر مینڈھے کے ساتھ رکھو۔ یہ ایک جلائی ہو ئی قربانی ہے یہ خدا وند کے لئے ایسی نذر ہو گی جو آ گ کے ساتھ دی جاتی ہے۔ اس کی بوُ خدا وند کو خوش کرے گی۔
26 “تب اس مینڈھے سے اسکے سینہ کو نکالو۔ یہی وہ مینڈھا ہے جس کا استعمال ہارون کو اعلیٰ کاہن بنانے کے تقریب میں کیا جائے گا۔ مینڈھے کے سینہ کو خاص نذر کی شکل میں خدا وند کے سامنے پکڑو۔ پھر واپس لاکر اسے رکھ دو۔ جانور کا یہ حصّہ تمہارا ہو گا۔ 27 تب مینڈھے کے اس سینہ اور ٹانگ کو لو جو ہارون کو اعلیٰ کاہن بنانے کے لئے استعمال میں آئے تھے۔ انہیں پاک بناؤ اور انہیں ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کو دو یہ نذر کا خاص حصّہ ہو گا۔ 28 بنی اسرائیل ان حصوں کو ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کو ہمیشہ دینگے۔ جب کبھی بنی اسرائیل خدا وند کو قر بانی دیں گے تو یہ حصہ ہمیشہ کاہنوں کا ہوگا جب وہ ان حصوں کو کاہنوں کو دینگے تو یہ خدا وند کو دینے کے برابر ہو گا۔
29 “ان خاص لباسوں کو محفوظ رکھو جو ہارون کے لئے بنے تھے۔ لباس اسکے ان تمام نسلوں کے لوگوں کے لئے ہونگے۔ جو اسکے بعد رہیں گے وہ ان لباس کو اس وقت پہنیں گے جب کاہنوں کو چُنے جائیں گے۔ 30 ہارون کا جو بیٹا اس کے بعد اعلیٰ کاہن ہو گا وہ سات دن تک اس لباس کو پہنے گا جب وہ خیمہٴ اجتماع کے مقدس جگہ میں خدمت کر نے آئیگا۔
31 “اس مینڈھے کے گوشت کو پکاؤ جو ہارون کو اعلیٰ کاہن بنانے کے لئے استعمال میں آیا تھا۔ اس گوشت کو مقدس جگہ پر پکاؤ۔ 32 تب ہارون اور اسکے بیٹے خیمہٴ اجتماع کے دروازے پر مینڈھے کا گوشت کھا ئیں گے۔ 33 ان نذروں کا استعمال ان کے گناہ کو ختم کر نے کے لئے اس وقت ہوا تھا جب وہ کاہن بنے تھے۔ یہ مینڈھے صرف انہیں کھا نا چاہئے کسی دوسرے کو نہیں کیوں کہ یہ پاک ہیں۔ 34 اگر اس مینڈھے کا کچھ گوشت یا روٹی دوسرے دن کے لئے بچ جائے تو اسے جلا دینا چاہئے۔ تمہیں وہ روٹی یا گوشت نہیں کھا نا چاہئے۔ کیوں کہ اسے صرف خاص طرح سے خاص وقت پر ہی کھا یا جانا چاہئے۔
35 ویسا ہی کرو جیسا میں نے تمہیں ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کے لئے کر نے کا حکم دیا ہے۔ یہ تقریب مقرّر کاہنوں کی تقریب کے لئے سات دن تک چلے گی۔ 36 سات دن تک ہر روز ایک ایک بچھڑے کو ذبح کرو یہ ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کے گناہ کے لئے قربانی ہو گی۔ تم ان دنوں میں دی گئی قربانی کا استعمال قربان گاہ کو پاک کرنے کے لئے کر نا اور قربان گاہ کو مقدس بنا نے کے لئے زیتون کا تیل اس پر ڈالنا۔ 37 تم سات دن تک قربان گاہ کو خالص اور پاک کر نا تب قربان گاہ پاک ہو جائے گی۔ کو ئی بھی چیز جو قربان گاہ کو چھو ئے وہ پاک ہو جائے گی۔
38 “ہر روز قربان گاہ پر تمہیں ایک قربانی دینی چاہئے۔ تم کو ایک ایک سال کے دو میمنے کی قربانی دینی چاہئے۔ 39 ایک میمنہ کی قربانی صبح اور دوسرے کی شام میں دو۔ 40-41 جب تم پہلے میمنہ کا نذ رانہ پیش کرو تو آٹھ پیالے گیہوں کا باریک آٹا چار پیالے مئے کے ساتھ ملاؤ اور اسے پیش کرو۔ جب تم دوسرے میمنہ کو شام کے وقت پیش کرو تو آٹھ پیالے باریک آٹا چار پیالے زیتون کا تیل اور چار پیالے مئے بھی صبح کی طرح پیش کرو۔ یہ ایک تحفہ ہے ، خدا وند کے لئے ایک میٹھی خوشگوار خوشبو ہے۔
42 تمہیں ان چیزوں کو خدا وند کی قربانی پیش کر نے میں روزجلانی چاہئے۔یہ خدا وند کے سامنے خیمہٴ اجتماع کے دروازہ پر کرو یہ ہمیشہ کر تے رہو۔ جب تم قربانی پیش کرو گے تب میں خدا وند سے ملوں گا اور وہاں تم سے باتیں کروں گا۔ 43 میں بنی اسرائیلیوں سے اس جگہ پر ملونگا اور وہ جگہ میرے جلال سے مقدس ہو گی۔
44 اس طرح میں خیمہٴ اجتماع کو پاک بناؤ نگا۔ اور میں قربان گاہ کو بھی مقدس بناؤنگا اور میں ہارون اور اسکے بیٹوں کو مقدس کروں گا جس سے وہ میری خدمت کاہن کے طور پر کریں گے۔ 45 میں بنی اسرائیلیوں کے ساتھ رہوں گا میں ا ن کا خدا ہوں گا۔ 46 لوگ یہ جان جائیں گے کہ میں انکا خدا خدا وند ہو ں۔ انہیں معلوم ہو گا کہ میں ہی وہ ہوں جو انہیں مصر سے باہر لایا تا کہ میں انکے ساتھ رہ سکوں میں انکا خدا وند خدا ہوں۔”

Consecration of the Priests(A)
29 “This is what you are to do to consecrate(B) them, so they may serve me as priests: Take a young bull and two rams without defect.(C) 2 And from the finest wheat flour make round loaves without yeast, thick loaves without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, and thin loaves without yeast and brushed with olive oil.(D) 3 Put them in a basket and present them along with the bull and the two rams.(E) 4 Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water.(F) 5 Take the garments(G) and dress Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself and the breastpiece. Fasten the ephod on him by its skillfully woven waistband.(H) 6 Put the turban(I) on his head and attach the sacred emblem(J) to the turban. 7 Take the anointing oil(K) and anoint him by pouring it on his head. 8 Bring his sons and dress them in tunics(L) 9 and fasten caps on them. Then tie sashes on Aaron and his sons.[a](M) The priesthood is theirs by a lasting ordinance.(N)
“Then you shall ordain Aaron and his sons.
10 “Bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.(O) 11 Slaughter it in the Lord’s presence(P) at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 12 Take some of the bull’s blood and put it on the horns(Q) of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of it at the base of the altar.(R) 13 Then take all the fat(S) on the internal organs,(T) the long lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar. 14 But burn the bull’s flesh and its hide and its intestines(U) outside the camp.(V) It is a sin offering.[b]
15 “Take one of the rams,(W) and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.(X) 16 Slaughter it and take the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar. 17 Cut the ram into pieces and wash(Y) the internal organs and the legs, putting them with the head and the other pieces. 18 Then burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord, a pleasing aroma,(Z) a food offering presented to the Lord.
19 “Take the other ram,(AA) and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.(AB) 20 Slaughter it, take some of its blood and put it on the lobes of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet.(AC) Then splash blood against the sides of the altar.(AD) 21 And take some blood(AE) from the altar and some of the anointing oil(AF) and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. Then he and his sons and their garments will be consecrated.(AG)
22 “Take from this ram the fat,(AH) the fat tail, the fat on the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, both kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh. (This is the ram for the ordination.) 23 From the basket of bread made without yeast, which is before the Lord, take one round loaf, one thick loaf with olive oil mixed in, and one thin loaf. 24 Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and have them wave them before the Lord as a wave offering.(AI) 25 Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar along with the burnt offering for a pleasing aroma to the Lord, a food offering presented to the Lord.(AJ) 26 After you take the breast of the ram for Aaron’s ordination, wave it before the Lord as a wave offering, and it will be your share.(AK)
27 “Consecrate those parts of the ordination ram that belong to Aaron and his sons:(AL) the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented. 28 This is always to be the perpetual share from the Israelites for Aaron and his sons. It is the contribution the Israelites are to make to the Lord from their fellowship offerings.(AM)
29 “Aaron’s sacred garments(AN) will belong to his descendants so that they can be anointed and ordained in them.(AO) 30 The son(AP) who succeeds him as priest and comes to the tent of meeting to minister in the Holy Place is to wear them seven days.
31 “Take the ram(AQ) for the ordination and cook the meat in a sacred place.(AR) 32 At the entrance to the tent of meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread(AS) that is in the basket. 33 They are to eat these offerings by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no one else may eat(AT) them, because they are sacred. 34 And if any of the meat of the ordination ram or any bread is left over till morning,(AU) burn it up. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
35 “Do for Aaron and his sons everything I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them. 36 Sacrifice a bull each day(AV) as a sin offering to make atonement(AW). Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate(AX) it. 37 For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy.(AY)
38 “This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day:(AZ) two lambs a year old. 39 Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.(BA) 40 With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah[c] of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin[d] of oil(BB) from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.(BC) 41 Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight(BD) with the same grain offering(BE) and its drink offering as in the morning—a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.
42 “For the generations to come(BF) this burnt offering is to be made regularly(BG) at the entrance to the tent of meeting,(BH) before the Lord. There I will meet you and speak to you;(BI) 43 there also I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be consecrated by my glory.(BJ)
44 “So I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.(BK) 45 Then I will dwell(BL) among the Israelites and be their God.(BM) 46 They will know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt(BN) so that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.(BO)
