Deuteronomy 32:16-18

¹⁶ They made him jealous by worshiping other gods.
    They made him angry with those disgusting idols.
¹⁷ They offered sacrifices to demons—gods that are not God.
    These were new gods they had not known before,
    gods their ancestors never knew.
¹⁸ You people left the Rock who made you;
    you forgot the God who gave you life.
