4 Te encarezco delante de Dios y del Señor Jesucristo, que juzgará a los vivos y a los muertos en su manifestación y en su reino, 2 que prediques la palabra; que instes a tiempo y fuera de tiempo; redarguye, reprende, exhorta con toda paciencia y doctrina. 3 Porque vendrá tiempo cuando no sufrirán la sana doctrina, sino que teniendo comezón de oír, se amontonarán maestros conforme a sus propias concupiscencias, 4 y apartarán de la verdad el oído y se volverán a las fábulas. 5 Pero tú sé sobrio en todo, soporta las aflicciones, haz obra de evangelista, cumple tu ministerio.
6 Porque yo ya estoy para ser sacrificado, y el tiempo de mi partida está cercano. 7 He peleado la buena batalla, he acabado la carrera, he guardado la fe. 8 Por lo demás, me está guardada la corona de justicia, la cual me dará el Señor, juez justo, en aquel día; y no solo a mí, sino también a todos los que aman su venida.

Toma a Marcos(D) y tráele contigo, porque me es útil para el ministerio. 12 A Tíquico(E) lo envié a Éfeso. 13 Trae, cuando vengas, el capote que dejé en Troas(F) en casa de Carpo, y los libros, mayormente los pergaminos. 14 Alejandro(G) el calderero me ha causado muchos males; el Señor le pague conforme a sus hechos. 15 Guárdate tú también de él, pues en gran manera se ha opuesto a nuestras palabras. 16 En mi primera defensa ninguno estuvo a mi lado, sino que todos me desampararon; no les sea tomado en cuenta. 17 Pero el Señor estuvo a mi lado, y me dio fuerzas, para que por mí fuese cumplida la predicación, y que todos los gentiles oyesen. Así fui librado de la boca del león. 18 Y el Señor me librará de toda obra mala, y me preservará para su reino celestial. A él sea gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

4 En presencia de Dios y de Cristo Jesús, que ha de venir en su reino y que juzgará a los vivos y a los muertos, te doy este solemne encargo: 2 Predica la Palabra; persiste en hacerlo, sea o no sea oportuno; corrige, reprende y anima con mucha paciencia, sin dejar de enseñar. 3 Porque llegará el tiempo en que no van a tolerar la sana doctrina, sino que, llevados de sus propios deseos, se rodearán de maestros que les digan las novelerías que quieren oír. 4 Dejarán de escuchar la verdad y se volverán a los mitos. 5 Tú, por el contrario, sé prudente en todas las circunstancias, soporta los sufrimientos, dedícate a la evangelización; cumple con los deberes de tu ministerio.
6 Yo, por mi parte, ya estoy a punto de ser ofrecido como un sacrificio, y el tiempo de mi partida ha llegado. 7 He peleado la buena batalla, he terminado la carrera, me he mantenido en la fe. 8 Por lo demás me espera la corona de justicia que el Señor, el juez justo, me otorgará en aquel día; y no solo a mí, sino también a todos los que con amor hayan esperado su venida.

Recoge a Marcos y tráelo contigo, porque me es de ayuda en mi ministerio. 12 A Tíquico lo mandé a Éfeso. 13 Cuando vengas, trae la capa que dejé en Troas, en casa de Carpo; trae también los libros, especialmente los pergaminos.
14 Alejandro el herrero me ha hecho mucho daño. El Señor le dará su merecido. 15 Tú también cuídate de él, porque se opuso tenazmente a nuestro mensaje.
16 En mi primera defensa, nadie me respaldó, sino que todos me abandonaron. Que no les sea tomado en cuenta. 17 Pero el Señor estuvo a mi lado y me dio fuerzas para que por medio de mí se llevara a cabo la predicación del mensaje y lo oyeran todos los paganos. Y fui librado de la boca del león. 18 El Señor me librará de todo mal y me preservará para su reino celestial. A él sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

4 (A)I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to (B)judge the living and the dead, and by His (C)appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach (D)the word; be ready in season and out of season; (E)reprove, rebuke, exhort, with [a]great (F)patience and teaching. 3 For (G)the time will come when they will not endure (H)sound doctrine, but wanting to have [b]their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and (I)will turn away their ears from the truth and (J)will turn aside to myths.
5 But you, (K)be sober in all things, (L)endure hardship, do the work of an (M)evangelist, fulfill your (N)ministry.
6 For I am already being (O)poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (P)my departure has come. 7 (Q)I have fought the good fight, I have finished (R)the course, I have kept (S)the faith. 8 In the future there (T)is laid up for me (U)the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on (V)that day, and not only to me, but also to (W)all who have loved His (X)appearing.

Pick up (AG)Mark and bring him with you, (AH)for he is useful to me for service. 12 But (AI)Tychicus I sent to (AJ)Ephesus. 13 When you come bring the cloak which I left at (AK)Troas with Carpus, and the scrolls, especially the parchments. 14 (AL)Alexander the coppersmith showed me much harm; (AM)the Lord will award him according to his deeds. 15 Be on guard against him yourself, for he vigorously opposed our words.
16 At my first defense no one supported me, but all deserted me. (AN)May it not be counted against them. 17 But the Lord stood with me and (AO)strengthened me, so that through me (AP)the preaching might be (AQ)fulfilled, and that all (AR)the Gentiles might hear.
