3 Iyon ang simula ng mahabang labanan sa pagitan ng mga matatapat na tauhan ni Saul at ni David. Lumakas nang lumakas ang grupo ni David. Pero ang kay Saul naman ay humina nang humina.

²Ito ang mga anak na lalaki ni David na isinilang sa Hebron: Si Amnon ang panganay, na anak niya kay Ahinoam na taga-Jezreel. ³Si Kileab ang pangalawa, na anak niya kay Abigail, ang biyuda ni Nabal na taga-Carmel. Si Absalom ang pangatlo, na anak niya kay Maaca, ang anak ni Haring Talmai ng Geshur.

3 The war between the house of Saul and the house of David lasted a long time.^(A) David grew stronger and stronger,^(B) while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.^(C)

²Sons were born to David in Hebron:

His firstborn was Amnon^(D) the son of Ahinoam^(E) of Jezreel;

³his second, Kileab the son of Abigail^(F) the widow of Nabal of Carmel;
