²⁰ So David arose from the ground, ^(A)washed, anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he came into the house of the Lord and ^(B)worshiped. Then he came to his own house, and when he requested, they set food before him and he ate.

² So Joab sent to ^(A)Tekoa and ^[a]brought a wise woman from there and said to her, “Please pretend to be a mourner, and put on mourning garments now, and do not ^(B)anoint yourself with oil, but be like a woman who has been mourning for the dead many days;

³ I ^(A)did not eat any ^[a]tasty food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until the entire three weeks were completed.
