A-xa-ri-a Trị Vì Giu-đa
(2 Sử 26:3-4, 21-23)
15 Năm thứ hai mươi bảy triều đại Giê-rô-bô-am vua I-sơ-ra-ên, A-xa-ri-a[a] con của A-ma-xi-a lên ngôi làm vua Giu-đa. 2 Ông được mười sáu tuổi khi lên ngôi và trị vì năm mươi hai năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ ông là Giê-cô-li-a người Giê-ru-sa-lem. 3 Ông làm điều tốt trước mặt Chúa như cha ông là A-ma-xi-a đã làm. 4 Dầu vậy các tế đàn trên những nơi cao vẫn chưa được dẹp bỏ. Dân chúng vẫn còn đến dâng con vật hiến tế và dâng hương trên các tế đàn ấy. 5 Chúa phạt ông mắc bịnh phung cho đến ngày ông băng hà. Ông sống biệt lập trong một nhà riêng. Giô-tham con trai ông điều hành việc triều chính và xét đoán dân trong nước.
6 Tất cả những việc khác của A-xa-ri-a, tất cả những việc ông làm, há chẳng được chép trong sách Sử Ký của Các Vua Giu-đa sao? 7 A-xa-ri-a an giấc với các tổ tiên ông. Người ta chôn ông bên cạnh các tổ tiên ông trong Thành Ða-vít. Giô-tham con trai ông lên ngôi kế vị.
Xa-cha-ri-a Trị Vì I-sơ-ra-ên
8 Năm thứ ba mươi tám của triều đại A-xa-ri-a vua Giu-đa, Xa-cha-ri-a con của Giê-rô-bô-am lên ngôi làm vua I-sơ-ra-ên. Ông trị vì tại Sa-ma-ri được sáu tháng. 9 Ông làm điều tội lỗi trước mặt Chúa như các tổ tiên ông đã làm. Ông chẳng từ bỏ những tội lỗi của Giê-rô-bô-am con của Nê-bát, tức những điều ông ấy đã gây cho I-sơ-ra-ên phạm tội. 10 Sanh-lum con của Gia-bét lập mưu phản nghịch ông, hạ sát ông trước mặt dân, rồi lên ngôi thế vị.
11 Những việc khác của Xa-cha-ri-a đều đã được ghi trong sách Sử Ký của Các Vua I-sơ-ra-ên. 12 Như thế là ứng nghiệm lời của Chúa đã phán cho Giê-hu rằng, “Dòng dõi ngươi sẽ được ngồi trên ngôi trị vì I-sơ-ra-ên cho đến đời thứ tư.” Ðiều đó đã xảy ra đúng y như vậy.
Sanh-lum Trị Vì I-sơ-ra-ên
13 Năm thứ ba mươi chín của triều đại U-xi-a[b] vua Giu-đa, Sanh-lum con của Gia-bét lên ngôi làm vua và trị vì một tháng tại Sa-ma-ri. 14 Bấy giờ Mê-na-hem con của Ga-đi từ Tiệt-xa đem quân lên Sa-ma-ri đánh bại Sanh-lum con của Gia-bét ngay ở Sa-ma-ri, giết chết ông ấy, rồi lên ngôi thế vị.
15 Những việc khác của Sanh-lum, kể cả âm mưu do ông chủ xướng, đều được chép trong sách Sử Ký của Các Vua I-sơ-ra-ên.
16 Sau đó Mê-na-hem đem quân từ Tiệt-xa đến tấn công Típ-sa, cướp bóc mọi người trong thành và dân sống trong các miền phụ cận trực thuộc thành ấy; bởi vì trước đó họ đã không chịu mở cửa thành tiếp rước ông, nên ông đánh phạt họ. Ông mổ bụng tất cả các phụ nữ mang thai trong thành.
Mê-na-hem Trị Vì I-sơ-ra-ên
17 Năm thứ ba mươi chín của triều đại A-xa-ri-a vua Giu-đa, Mê-na-hem con của Ga-đi lên ngôi làm vua I-sơ-ra-ên. Ông trị vì mười năm tại Sa-ma-ri. 18 Ông làm điều tội lỗi trước mặt Chúa. Ông chẳng từ bỏ những tội lỗi của Giê-rô-bô-am con của Nê-bát, tức những điều ông ấy đã gây cho I-sơ-ra-ên phạm tội.
19 Pun[c] vua A-sy-ri đến xâm lăng đất nước. Mê-na-hem nộp cho Pun ba mươi bốn ngàn ký bạc[d] để ông ấy cho ông được tiếp tục giữ vương quyền và củng cố địa vị. 20 Mê-na-hem thu góp số bạc ấy nơi dân I-sơ-ra-ên, đặc biệt từ những người giàu có; mỗi người phải đóng khoảng sáu trăm gờ-ram[e] bạc để ông nộp cho vua A-sy-ri. Vậy vua A-sy-ri lui quân về và không ở lại trong xứ.

Pê-ca-hi-a Trị Vì I-sơ-ra-ên
23 Năm thứ năm mươi của triều đại A-xa-ri-a vua Giu-đa, Pê-ca-hi-a con của Mê-na-hem lên ngôi làm vua I-sơ-ra-ên. Ông trị vì tại Sa-ma-ri được hai năm. 24 Ông làm điều tội lỗi trước mặt Chúa. Ông chẳng từ bỏ những tội lỗi của Giê-rô-bô-am con của Nê-bát, tức những điều ông ấy đã gây cho I-sơ-ra-ên phạm tội. 25 Pê-ca con của Rê-ma-li-a, chỉ huy trưởng quân đội của ông, lập mưu phản bội ông. Ông ấy dẫn năm mươi người ở Ghi-lê-át tấn công vào chiến lũy của hoàng cung tại Sa-ma-ri, giết chết vua với Ạc-gốp và A-ri-ê, rồi ông ấy lên ngôi thế vị.

27 Năm thứ năm mươi hai của triều đại A-xa-ri-a vua Giu-đa, Pê-ca con của Rê-ma-li-a lên ngôi làm vua I-sơ-ra-ên. Ông trị vì tại Sa-ma-ri hai mươi năm. 28 Ông làm điều tội lỗi trước mặt Chúa. Ông chẳng từ bỏ những tội lỗi của Giê-rô-bô-am con của Nê-bát, tức những điều ông ấy đã gây cho I-sơ-ra-ên phạm tội.
29 Trong thời của Pê-ca vua I-sơ-ra-ên, Tích-lát Pi-lê-se vua A-sy-ri đến và chiếm lấy I-giôn, A-bên Bết Ma-a-ca, Gia-nô-a, Kê-đét, Ha-xơ, Ghi-lê-át, Ga-li-lê, và tất cả địa phận của Náp-ta-li. Ông ấy bắt dân ở các nơi đó đem về A-sy-ri lưu đày.

Giô-tham Trị Vì Giu-đa
(2 Sử 27:1-4, 7-9)
32 Năm thứ hai của triều đại Pê-ca con của Rê-ma-li-a vua I-sơ-ra-ên, Giô-tham con của U-xi-a lên ngôi làm vua Giu-đa. 33 Ông được hai mươi lăm tuổi khi lên ngôi làm vua. Ông trị vì mười sáu năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ ông là Giê-ru-sa con gái của Xa-đốc. 34 Ông làm điều tốt trước mặt Chúa như U-xi-a cha ông đã làm. 35 Dầu vậy những tế đàn trên các nơi cao vẫn chưa được trừ bỏ. Dân chúng vẫn còn đến dâng con vật hiến tế và dâng hương trên những tế đàn đó. Ông xây một cổng thượng cho Ðền Thờ Chúa.
36 Những việc khác của Giô-tham, tất cả những việc ông làm, há không được chép trong sách Sử Ký của Các Vua Giu-đa sao? 37 Trong thời ấy Chúa để cho Rê-xin vua A-ram và Pê-ca con của Rê-ma-li-a đến tấn công Giu-đa. 38 Giô-tham an giấc cùng các tổ tiên ông và được chôn bên cạnh các tổ tiên ông trong Thành Ða-vít, tổ tiên của ông. A-kha con của ông lên ngôi kế vị.

Azariah King of Judah(A)
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah[a](B) son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign. 2 He was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother’s name was Jekoliah; she was from Jerusalem. 3 He did what was right(C) in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done. 4 The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.
5 The Lord afflicted(D) the king with leprosy[b] until the day he died, and he lived in a separate house.[c](E) Jotham(F) the king’s son had charge of the palace(G) and governed the people of the land.
6 As for the other events of Azariah’s reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? 7 Azariah rested(H) with his ancestors and was buried near them in the City of David. And Jotham(I) his son succeeded him as king.
Zechariah King of Israel
8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned six months. 9 He did evil(J) in the eyes of the Lord, as his predecessors had done. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
10 Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah. He attacked him in front of the people,[d] assassinated(K) him and succeeded him as king. 11 The other events of Zechariah’s reign are written in the book of the annals(L) of the kings of Israel. 12 So the word of the Lord spoken to Jehu was fulfilled:(M) “Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”[e]
Shallum King of Israel
13 Shallum son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned in Samaria(N) one month. 14 Then Menahem son of Gadi went from Tirzah(O) up to Samaria. He attacked Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, assassinated(P) him and succeeded him as king.
15 The other events of Shallum’s reign, and the conspiracy he led, are written in the book of the annals(Q) of the kings of Israel.
16 At that time Menahem, starting out from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah(R) and everyone in the city and its vicinity, because they refused to open(S) their gates. He sacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.
Menahem King of Israel
17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria ten years. 18 He did evil(T) in the eyes of the Lord. During his entire reign he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
19 Then Pul[f](U) king of Assyria invaded the land, and Menahem gave him a thousand talents[g] of silver to gain his support and strengthen his own hold on the kingdom. 20 Menahem exacted this money from Israel. Every wealthy person had to contribute fifty shekels[h] of silver to be given to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria withdrew(V) and stayed in the land no longer.
21 As for the other events of Menahem’s reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel? 22 Menahem rested with his ancestors. And Pekahiah his son succeeded him as king.
Pekahiah King of Israel
23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned two years. 24 Pekahiah did evil(W) in the eyes of the Lord. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit. 25 One of his chief officers, Pekah(X) son of Remaliah, conspired against him. Taking fifty men of Gilead with him, he assassinated(Y) Pekahiah, along with Argob and Arieh, in the citadel of the royal palace at Samaria. So Pekah killed Pekahiah and succeeded him as king.
26 The other events of Pekahiah’s reign, and all he did, are written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel.
Pekah King of Israel
27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah(Z) son of Remaliah(AA) became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned twenty years. 28 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
29 In the time of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser(AB) king of Assyria came and took Ijon,(AC) Abel Beth Maakah, Janoah, Kedesh and Hazor. He took Gilead and Galilee, including all the land of Naphtali,(AD) and deported(AE) the people to Assyria. 30 Then Hoshea(AF) son of Elah conspired against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked and assassinated(AG) him, and then succeeded him as king in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.
31 As for the other events of Pekah’s reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals(AH) of the kings of Israel?
Jotham King of Judah(AI)
32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, Jotham(AJ) son of Uzziah king of Judah began to reign. 33 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok. 34 He did what was right(AK) in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done. 35 The high places,(AL) however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate(AM) of the temple of the Lord.
36 As for the other events of Jotham’s reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? 37 (In those days the Lord began to send Rezin(AN) king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.) 38 Jotham rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David, the city of his father. And Ahaz his son succeeded him as king.

9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
12 This was the word of the Lord which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.
13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.
14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
15 And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
16 Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.
17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.
18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
21 And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.
24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
25 But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.
26 And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
27 In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.
28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.
30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.
31 And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.
33 Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
34 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
35 Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the Lord.
36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
37 In those days the Lord began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
