¹⁹ Do not quench the Spirit.^(A)

³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,^(A) with whom you were sealed^(B) for the day of redemption.^(C)

¹⁴ Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy^(A) when the body of elders^(B) laid their hands on you.^(C)

Appeal for Loyalty to Paul and the Gospel

⁶ For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.^{(A) 7} For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid,^(B) but gives us power,^(C) love and self-discipline. ⁸ So do not be ashamed^(D) of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner.^(E) Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel,^(F) by the power of God.
