²⁶ King Solomon built a fleet of ships at ^(A)Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

⁴⁸ Jehoshaphat made ^(A)ships of Tarshish to go to ^(B)Ophir for gold, but they did not go, for the ships were wrecked at ^(C)Ezion-geber.

⁸ So ^(A)we went on, away from our brothers, the people of Esau, who live in Seir, away from ^(B)the Arabah road from ^(C)Elath and ^(D)Ezion-geber.

“And we turned and went in the direction of the wilderness of Moab.

³⁵ And they set out from Abronah and camped at ^(A)Ezion-geber.

¹⁷ Then Solomon went to ^(A)Ezion-geber and ^(B)Eloth on the shore of the sea, in the land of Edom. ¹⁸ And Hiram sent to him by the hand of his servants ships and servants familiar with the sea, and they went to Ophir together with the servants of Solomon and brought from there ^(C)450 talents^[a] of gold and brought it to King Solomon.

^11 (A)Solomon brought Pharaoh's daughter up from the city of David to the house that he had built for her, for he said, “My wife shall not live in the house of David king of Israel, for the places to which the ark of the Lord has come are holy.”

¹² Then Solomon offered up burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of the Lord ^(B)that he had built before the vestibule,
