6 குடும்பத் தலைவர்களும், இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களின் தலைவர்களும், ஆயிரம் பேருக்கான அதிபதிகளும், நூறுபேருக்கான அதிபதிகளும், ராஜாவின் மந்திரிகளான தலைவர்களும் ஒப்புக் கொண்டு தங்களது மதிப்பு வாய்ந்த பொருட்களைக் கொடுக்க முன்வந்தனர். 7 அவர்கள், தேவாலயத்திற்குக் கொடுத்த பொருட்களின் பட்டியல் இது: 190 டன் தங்கம், 375 டன் வெள்ளி, 675 டன் வெண்கலம், 3,750 டன் இரும்பு, 8 ஜனங்கள் விலையுயர்ந்த கற்களைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு கொடுத்தனர். யெகியேல் இக்கற்களைக் காக்கும் பொறுப்பாளி ஆனான். இவன் கெர்சோன் குடும்பத்தவன். 9 தலைவர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு இவ்வாறு பொருட்களைக் கொடுத்ததால் ஜனங்களும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தனர். தலைவர்கள் நல்ல மனதோடு கொடுத்தனர். தாவீது ராஜாவும் மகிழ்ந்தான்.
தாவீதின் அழகான ஜெபம்
10 பிறகு தாவீது அனைத்து ஜனங்களின் முன்பாக கர்த்தரை துதித்தான். தாவீது:
“இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, எங்கள் தந்தையே,
எல்லா காலங்களிலும் உமக்கு துதி உண்டாவதாக!
11 மாட்சிமை, வல்லமை, மகிமை, வெற்றி, மகத்துவம் அனைத்தும் உமக்குரியவை.
ஏனென்றால் மண்ணிலும், விண்ணிலும் உள்ள அனைத்தும் உமக்குரியவை.
கர்த்தாவே இராஜ்யம் உமக்குரியது.
நீரே தலைவர், எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் ஆட்சியாளர் நீரே.
12 செல்வமும், மகத்துவமும் உம்மிடம் இருந்து வரும்.
நீர் எல்லாவற்றையும் ஆளுகிறீர்.
உமது கையில் வல்லமையும் அதிகாரமும் உள்ளது!
எவரையும் வல்லமையும், அதிகாரமும் உள்ளவனாக்கும் வல்லமையும் உமது கையில் உள்ளது!
13 இப்போது எங்கள் தேவனே, உமக்கு நன்றி.
நாங்கள் உமது பெருமைக்குரிய நாமத்தைத் துதிப்போம்!
14 இந்தப் பொருட்கள் அனைத்தும் என்னிடமும், என் ஜனங்களிடமும் இருந்து வந்ததல்ல!
அனைத்தும் உம்மிடமிருந்தே வந்தன.
நாங்கள் அவற்றை உமக்குத் திருப்பித் தருகிறோம்.
15 நாங்கள் எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களைப் போன்று
உலகமெங்கும் பயணம் செய்துகொண்டு பரதேசிகளாக இருக்கிறோம்.
இவ்வுலகில் எங்கள் வாழ்வு கடந்து செல்லும் நிழல் போன்றுள்ளது.
இதனை நிறுத்த முடியவில்லை.
16 எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நாங்கள் இவ்வளவு பொருட்களையும் ஆலயத்திற்காக சேகரித்துள்ளோம்.
உமது பெயரைப் பெருமைப்படுத்த ஆலயம் கட்டுகிறோம்.
ஆனால் அனைத்தும் உம்மிடம் இருந்து வந்தன.
எல்லாம் உமக்குரியன.
17 எனது தேவனே, நீர் ஜனங்களை சோதிப்பதை நான் அறிவேன்.
ஜனங்கள் நன்மை செய்தால் நீர் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவீர்.
நான் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு சுத்தமான, நேர்மையான மனதோடு இவற்றைத் தருவேன்.
நான் உமது ஜனங்கள் கூட்டியுள்ளதை பார்த்தேன். இப்பொருட்களை உமக்குக் கொடுப்பதில், அவர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு இருக்கிறார்கள்.
18 கர்த்தாவே, எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களான, ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, இஸ்ரவேல் ஆகியோரின் தேவன்,
சரியானவற்றைத் திட்டமிடுவதில் உம் ஜனங்களுக்கு தயவுசெய்து உதவும்!
உம்மிடம் உண்மையாகவும், தாழ்மையாகவும் இருக்க உதவும்.
19 என் குமாரன் சாலொமோன் உமக்கு உண்மையாக இருக்கவும்,
உமது ஆணைகளுக்கும், சட்டங்களுக்கும், விதிகளுக்கும் கூட கீழ்ப்படிய உதவும். இவற்றைச் செய்ய சாலொமோனுக்கு உதவும்.
நான் திட்டமிட்டபடி இத்தலைநகரைக் கட்ட அவனுக்கு உதவும்” என்றான்.
20 பிறகு தாவீது அனைத்து குழு ஜனங்களிடமும், இப்போது உங்கள், “தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை துதியுங்கள்” என்றான். எனவே அனைத்து ஜனங்களும் துதித்தனர். தரையில் குனிந்து கர்த்தரையும் ராஜாவையும் வணங்கினார்கள்.
சாலொமோன் ராஜாவாகிறான்
21 மறுநாள் ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு பலிகள் இட்டனர். தகனபலிகளைக் கொடுத்தனர். அவர்கள் 1,000 காளைகள், 1,000 ஆட்டுக் கடாக்கள், 1,000 ஆட்டுக் குட்டிகள், போன்றவற்றையும் பானங்களின் காணிக்கைகளையும் செலுத்தினர். அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின் அனைத்து ஜனங்களுக்காகவும் பலவற்றையும் பலியிட்டனர். 22 அன்று ஜனங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு கர்த்தருடன் உண்பதும் குடிப்பதுவுமாய் இருந்தனர்.
அவர்கள் தாவீதின் குமாரனான சாலொமோனை இரண்டாம் முறையாக ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள். அவர்கள் சாலொமோனை ராஜாவாகவும், சாதோக்கை ஆசாரியனாகவும், அபிஷேகம் செய்தனர். கர்த்தர் இருக்கிற இடத்திலேயே அவர்கள் இதைச் செய்தார்கள்.
23 பிறகு சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய சிங்காசனத்தின் மேல் அமர்ந்தான். அவன் தனது தந்தையின் இடத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டான். அவன் வெற்றியுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான். இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தனர். 24 அனைத்து தலைவர்களும், வீரர்களும் தாவீதின் குமாரனான சாலொமோனை ராஜாவாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டனர். அனைவரும் சாலொமோனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தனர். 25 கர்த்தர் சாலொமோனை மிகப் பெரியவனாக்கினார். கர்த்தர் சாலொமோனைப் பெரியவராக்கிவிட்டார் என்பதை இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் அனைவரும் தெரிந்துக்கொண்டனர். ஒரு ராஜாவுக்குரிய பெருமையைக் கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தார். வேறு எந்த ராஜாவுக்கும் இஸ்ரவேலில் இவ்வளவு ராஜரீக மகத்துவம் கிடைத்ததில்லை.
தாவீதின் மரணம்
26-27 ஈசாயின் குமாரனான தாவீது 40 ஆண்டுகள் இஸ்ரவேல் முழுவதற்கும் ராஜாவாக இருந்தான். எப்ரோன் நகரில் தாவீது 7 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ராஜாவாக இருந்தான். பிறகு தாவீது எருசலேம் நகரில் 33 ஆண்டுகள் ராஜாவாக இருந்தான். 28 தாவீது முதுமையடைந்ததும் மரித்தான். தாவீது ஒரு நீண்ட நல்ல வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்ந்தான். தாவீது பல செல்வங்களையும் பெருமைகளையும் பெற்றான். அவனுக்குப் பிறகு அவனது குமாரனான சாலொமோன் புதிய ராஜா ஆனான்.

Gifts for Building the Temple
29 Then King David said to the whole assembly: “My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced.(A) The task is great, because this palatial structure is not for man but for the Lord God. 2 With all my resources I have provided for the temple of my God—gold(B) for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise,[a](C) stones of various colors, and all kinds of fine stone and marble—all of these in large quantities.(D) 3 Besides, in my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of my God, over and above everything I have provided(E) for this holy temple: 4 three thousand talents[b] of gold (gold of Ophir)(F) and seven thousand talents[c] of refined silver,(G) for the overlaying of the walls of the buildings, 5 for the gold work and the silver work, and for all the work to be done by the craftsmen. Now, who is willing to consecrate themselves to the Lord today?”
6 Then the leaders of families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials(H) in charge of the king’s work gave willingly.(I) 7 They(J) gave toward the work on the temple of God five thousand talents[d] and ten thousand darics[e] of gold, ten thousand talents[f] of silver, eighteen thousand talents[g] of bronze and a hundred thousand talents[h] of iron. 8 Anyone who had precious stones(K) gave them to the treasury of the temple of the Lord in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite.(L) 9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly(M) to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.
David’s Prayer
10 David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power(N)
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.(O)
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.(P)
12 Wealth and honor(Q) come from you;
you are the ruler(R) of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this?(S) Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.(T) 15 We are foreigners and strangers(U) in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow,(V) without hope. 16 Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. 17 I know, my God, that you test the heart(W) and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.(X) 18 Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you. 19 And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion(Y) to keep your commands, statutes and decrees(Z) and to do everything to build the palatial structure for which I have provided.”(AA)
20 Then David said to the whole assembly, “Praise the Lord your God.” So they all praised the Lord, the God of their fathers; they bowed down, prostrating themselves before the Lord and the king.
Solomon Acknowledged as King(AB)
21 The next day they made sacrifices to the Lord and presented burnt offerings to him:(AC) a thousand bulls, a thousand rams and a thousand male lambs, together with their drink offerings, and other sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.(AD) 22 They ate and drank with great joy(AE) in the presence of the Lord that day.
Then they acknowledged Solomon son of David as king a second time, anointing him before the Lord to be ruler and Zadok(AF) to be priest. 23 So Solomon sat(AG) on the throne(AH) of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him. 24 All the officers and warriors, as well as all of King David’s sons,(AI) pledged their submission to King Solomon.
25 The Lord highly exalted(AJ) Solomon in the sight of all Israel and bestowed on him royal splendor(AK) such as no king over Israel ever had before.(AL)
The Death of David(AM)
26 David son of Jesse was king(AN) over all Israel.(AO) 27 He ruled over Israel forty years—seven in Hebron(AP) and thirty-three in Jerusalem.(AQ) 28 He died(AR) at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honor. His son Solomon succeeded him as king.(AS)
29 As for the events of King David’s reign, from beginning to end, they are written in the records of Samuel the seer,(AT) the records of Nathan(AU) the prophet and the records of Gad(AV) the seer, 30 together with the details of his reign and power, and the circumstances that surrounded him and Israel and the kingdoms of all the other lands.

Offerings for the Temple
29 Then King David addressed the entire assembly: “My son Solomon, the one whom God alone has chosen, is still young and inexperienced, and the task is great, since this structure will be a citadel to the Lord God and not for human beings. 2 To the extent that I have been able to do so, I have provided supplies for the Temple of my God, including gold for what is to be made of gold, silver for what is to be made of silver, bronze for what is to be made of bronze, iron for what is to be made of iron, wood for what is to be made of wood, and great quantities of onyx, precious stones, antimony, colored stones, all types of other semi-precious stones, and plenty of marble.
3 “In addition to everything that I have supplied for the Temple, it pleases me to provide my own treasure of gold and silver, so because of my love for the Temple of my God I hereby give to the Temple of my God the following: 4 3,000 gold talents[a] imported from Ophir,[b] 7,000 talents[c] of refined silver for gilding the walls of the Temple 5 and for all the work to be undertaken by skilled artists, gold for what is to be made of gold, and silver for what is to be made of silver. Who then, will be dedicating the productivity[d] of his own work[e] to the Lord today?”
6 So the leaders of the ancestral households presented their voluntary offerings, as did the leaders of the tribes, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king’s business. 7 They presented 5,000 gold talents[f] and 10,000 gold darics[g] for the work of the Temple of God, 10,000 silver talents[h], 18,000 bronze talents,[i] and 100,000 iron talents.[j] 8 Whoever owned precious stones gave them to the treasury of the Temple of the Lord, in care of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 Then the people rejoiced because they had given voluntarily, since with a devoted heart they had freely given to the Lord.
David’s Praise to God
King David also rejoiced greatly. 10 Then David blessed the Lord in the presence of the entire assembly. David said,
How blessed you are, Lord,
the God of our ancestor Israel,
from eternity to eternity!
11 To you, Lord, belongs the greatness, and the valor,
and the splendor, and the endurance, and the majesty
because all that is in heaven
and on earth is yours.
To you belongs the kingdom, Lord,
and you are exalted as head over all.
12 Both wealth and honor proceed from you,
and you are ruling over them all.
You control[k] power—
you control who is made great,
and how everyone becomes strong.
13 And so, our God, we are giving you thanks,
and we are praising your wonderful name!
14 But who am I,
and who are my people,
that we make such voluntary offerings as these?
For all things come from you,
and from your own hand we are giving to you.
15 For we are aliens and vagrants in your presence,
as were all of our ancestors.
Our days on the earth pass away like shadows,
and we have no hope.
16 Lord our God, all of this abundance that we have given
for building a temple for your great name
was provided by you[l]
and all of it belongs to you.
17 And I know, God,
that it is you who searches the heart
and you who finds pleasure in righteousness.
With a righteous heart I have freely given all these things,
and now I have seen all of these people of yours
giving freely and joyfully to you!
18 Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our ancestors,
keep your purposes and thoughts
constantly in the hearts of your people
and direct their hearts toward you,
19 granting to my son Solomon to keep with a devoted heart
your commands, your decrees, and your statutes,
carrying out all of them,
and that he may build the Temple
for which I have made the preparations.
20 Then David told the entire assembly, “Bless the Lord your God, please.” So the entire assembly blessed the Lord God of their ancestors, bowing their heads and falling in the Lord’s presence and before the king. 21 The next day, they offered sacrifices and burnt offerings to the Lord amounting to[m] 1,000 bulls, 1,000 rams, and 1,000 lambs, along with their libations. Sacrifices were abundant throughout all Israel, 22 and they ate and drank in the Lord’s presence with great joy.
Solomon is Anointed King(A)
They crowned David’s son Solomon king a second time and anointed him to serve[n] as Commander-in-Chief[o] to the Lord and Zadok to serve[p] as priest. 23 So Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king in the place of[q] his father David. He prospered, and all of Israel obeyed[r] him. 24 All of the officials, all of the valiant soldiers, and all of King David’s sons submitted to King Solomon’s control, 25 and the Lord exalted Solomon magnificently in the sight of all Israel, bestowing upon him royal majesty such as had not been given to any king in Israel before him.
Summary of the Reign of King David
26 Jesse’s son David reigned as king over all of Israel, 27 serving as king over Israel for 40 years. He reigned for seven years in Hebron and for 33 in Jerusalem. 28 He died at a good old age, having lived a full life, replete with riches and honor, and with his son Solomon reigning in his place. 29 The activities of David the king are recorded in the History of Samuel the Seer,[s] in the History of Nathan the Prophet,[t] and in the History of Gad the Seer,[u] 30 including details regarding[v] his reign, his power, the circumstances that attended his life, Israel, and all of the kingdoms of the countries that surrounded him.[w]

大卫亲自预备建殿的材料
29 大卫王对全体会众说：“我的儿子所罗门，是 神所拣选的，现在还年幼识浅，而这工程非常浩大；因为这殿宇不是为人建造，而是为耶和华 神建造的。 2 我为我 神的殿已经尽了我的力量，预备了金子做金器，银子做银器，铜做铜器，铁做铁器，木做木器；还有红玛瑙、用作镶嵌的宝石、彩石和各样的宝石，以及很多大理石。 3 不但这样，因我爱慕我 神的殿，就在我为建造圣殿预备的一切以外，又把我自己积蓄的金银献给我 神的殿： 4 就是俄斐金一百多公吨，精炼的银子约两百四十公吨，用来贴殿里的墙壁； 5 金子做金器，银子做银器，以及匠人手所作的各样巧工。今日有谁愿意奉献给耶和华呢？”
民众上下一心，自愿奉献
6 于是各家族的领袖、以色列各支派的领袖、千夫长、百夫长和管理王的事务的领袖，都乐意奉献。 7 为了神殿里的需用，他们奉献了金子一百七十多公吨，银子三百四十多公吨，铜约六百二十公吨和铁三千四百公吨。 8 有宝石的，都交到耶和华殿这库房，由革顺人耶歇经办。 9 人民因这些人自愿奉献而欢喜，因为他们一心乐意奉献给耶和华，大卫王也非常欢喜。
大卫称颂耶和华
10 所以大卫在全体会众面前称颂耶和华，说：“耶和华我们的祖先以色列的 神，是应当称颂的，从亘古直到永远。 11 耶和华啊，尊大、能力、荣耀、胜利和威严，都是你的；因为天上地下的万有都是你的；耶和华啊，国度是你的，你是至高的，是万有之首。 12 富足和尊荣都从你而来，你也统治万有。在你的手里有力量和权能；人的尊大、强盛都是出于你的手。 13 我们的 神啊，现在我们要称颂你，赞美你荣耀的名。 14 我算甚么？我的人民又算甚么？竟有力量这样乐意奉献？因为万物都是从你而来，我们只是把从你手里得来的，奉献给你。 15 我们在你面前是客旅，是寄居的，像我们的列祖一样；我们在世上的日子好象影儿，没有指望。 16 耶和华我们的 神啊，我们预备的这一切财物，要为你的圣名建造殿宇，都是从你而来的，也都是属于你的。 17 我的 神啊，我知道你察验人心，喜悦正直；至于我，我以正直的心甘愿奉献这一切；现在我也非常欢喜看见你在这里的人民，都甘愿奉献给你。 18 耶和华我们列祖亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的 神啊，求你永远保守这一件事，就是使你的子民常存这心思意念，坚定他们的心归向你。 19 求你赐给我的儿子所罗门专一的心，谨守你的诫命、法度和律例，作成这一切事，用我所预备的一切来建造殿宇。”
众民称颂耶和华并且献祭
20 大卫对全体会众说：“你们应当称颂耶和华你们的 神。”于是全体会众就称颂耶和华他们列祖的 神，俯伏敬拜耶和华和王。 21 第二天，他们向耶和华献祭，他们向耶和华献上燔祭；那一天他们献了公牛一千头、公绵羊一千只、羊羔一千只，以及同献的奠祭，又为以色列众人献了许多祭。
所罗门登基作王
22 那一天，他们十分喜乐地在耶和华面前吃喝。他们再次表示拥立大卫的儿子所罗门作王，膏他为耶和华作君王，又膏撒督作祭司。 23 于是所罗门坐在耶和华所赐的位上，接续他父亲大卫作王；他凡事亨通，以色列众人都听从他。 24 众领袖和勇士，以及大卫王的众子，都顺服所罗门王。 25 耶和华使所罗门在以色列众人面前非常尊大，又赐给他君王的威严，胜过在他以前所有的以色列王。
大卫逝世
26 耶西的儿子大卫作全以色列的王。 27 大卫作王统治以色列的日子共四十年；他在希伯仑作王七年，在耶路撒冷作王三十三年。 28 大卫年纪老迈，寿数满足，享尽富足和尊荣才去世；他的儿子所罗门接续他作王。 29 大卫王一生始末的事迹，都记在撒母耳先见的书上、拿单先知的书上和迦得先见的书上。 30 还有他治理的一切国事，他的英勇事迹，以及在他身上和以色列并各地列国发生的事迹，都记在这些书上。
