²³τας δε μωρας και απαιδευτους ζητησεις παραιτου ειδως οτι γεννωσιν μαχας

²⁴δουλον δε κυριου ου δει μαχεσθαι αλλ ηπιον ειναι προς παντας διδακτικον ανεξικακον

²⁵εν πραοτητι παιδευοντα τους αντιδιατιθεμενους μηποτε δω αυτοις ο θεος μετανοιαν εις επιγνωσιν αληθειας

²⁶και ανανηψωσιν εκ της του διαβολου παγιδος εζωγρημενοι υπ αυτου εις το εκεινου θελημα

²³and the foolish and uninstructed questions be avoiding, having known that they beget strife,

²⁴and a servant of the Lord it behoveth not to strive, but to be gentle unto all, apt to teach, patient under evil,

²⁵in meekness instructing those opposing -- if perhaps God may give to them repentance to an acknowledging of the truth,

²⁶and they may awake out of the devil's snare, having been caught by him at his will.

²³But refuse foolish and ignorant ^(A)speculations, knowing that they ^(B)produce ^[a]quarrels. ²⁴^(C)The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, ^(D)skillful in teaching, patient when wronged, ²⁵^(E)with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, ^(F)if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to ^(G)the knowledge of the truth, ²⁶and they may come to their senses and escape from ^(H)the snare of the devil, having been ^(I)held captive ^[b]by him to do his will.

²³Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.^(A) ²⁴And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.^(B) ²⁵Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,^(C) ²⁶and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil,^(D) who has taken them captive to do his will.
