論休妻
19 耶穌說完這番話，就離開加利利來到約旦河對岸的猶太地區。 2 有一大群人跟著祂，祂就在那裡醫好了他們的病。
3 有幾個法利賽人到耶穌那裡想試探祂，便問祂：「丈夫可以用任何理由休妻嗎？」
4 耶穌回答說：「你們沒有讀過嗎？太初，造物主造了男人和女人，並且說， 5 『因此，人要離開父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。』 6 這樣，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體了。因此，上帝配合的，人不可分開。」
7 他們追問：「那麼，為什麼摩西說，只要給妻子休書，就可以休她呢？」
8 耶穌說：「因為摩西知道你們鐵石心腸，所以才准你們休妻。但起初並不是這樣。 9 我告訴你們，除非是妻子不貞，否則，任何人休妻另娶，就是犯通姦罪[a]。」
10 門徒對耶穌說：「如果夫妻關係是這樣，還不如不結婚。」
11 耶穌說：「這話不是每個人都能接受的，只有那些得到這種恩賜的人才能接受。 12 人不結婚的原因很多，有些是因為先天的缺陷，有些是被人閹了，也有些是為了天國而自己放棄結婚的權利。誰能接受，就讓他接受吧。」
耶穌為小孩子祝福
13 有人帶著小孩子來見耶穌，請求耶穌為他們按手禱告，卻受到門徒的責備。
14 耶穌說：「讓小孩子到我這裡來，不要阻止他們，因為天國屬於這樣的人。」 15 於是祂為他們按手禱告，然後才離開那裡。
有錢的青年
16 有一個人來請教耶穌：「老師，我該做什麼善事才能獲得永生呢？」
17 耶穌說：「你為什麼問我做什麼善事？只有上帝是善的，你要得永生，就必須遵守祂的誡命。」
18 那人問：「什麼誡命呢？」
耶穌答道：「不可殺人，不可通姦，不可偷盜，不可作偽證， 19 要孝敬父母，並且愛鄰如己。」
20 那青年說：「這些我早已遵守了，還缺什麼呢？」
21 耶穌告訴他：「如果你想做到純全，就去變賣所有的產業，送給窮人，你就必有財寶存在天上，然後你來跟從我。」 22 那青年聽後，便憂傷地走了，因為他有許多產業。
23 事後，耶穌對門徒說：「我實在告訴你們，有錢人進天國很困難。 24 我再告訴你們，駱駝穿過針眼比有錢人進上帝的國還容易呢！」
25 門徒聽了，驚奇地問：「這樣，誰能得救呢？」
26 耶穌看著他們說：「對人而言，這不可能；但對上帝而言，凡事都可能。」
27 彼得問道：「你看，我們已經撇下一切來跟從你了，將來會有什麼獎賞呢？」
28 耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，到萬物更新、人子坐在祂榮耀的寶座上時，你們這些跟從我的人也要坐在十二個寶座上，審判以色列的十二個支派。 29 無論誰為我的名而撇下房屋、弟兄、姊妹、父母、兒女或田地，都要得到百倍的賞賜，而且承受永生。 30 然而，許多為首的將要殿後，殿後的將要為首。」
葡萄園工人的比喻
20 耶穌接著說：「因為天國就像一個園主清早去外面請工人到他的葡萄園做工。 2 他跟工人講好一天的工錢是一個銀幣，然後派他們去葡萄園。
3 「大約上午九點鐘，園主出去看見一些人站在街市上無所事事， 4 就對他們說，『你們到我的葡萄園來工作吧，我會給你們合理的工錢。』
5 「他們便去了。正午和下午三點鐘，他又出去繼續請人到葡萄園做工。 6 到了下午五點鐘的時候，他再次出去，看見還有人閒站在那裡，就問他們，『為什麼你們整天站在這裡無所事事呢？』 7 他們回答說，『因為沒有人僱用我們。』園主說，『你們也到我的葡萄園來吧！』
8 「到了傍晚，園主對工頭說，『叫工人來領工錢吧，最晚來的先領，最先來的後領。』
9 「下午五點來的工人每人得了一個銀幣。 10 最早來的工人來領的時候，以為必定可以多得一點工錢，誰知也各得一個銀幣。
11 「他們拿著工錢滿腹牢騷地對園主說， 12 『那些最晚來的人只工作了一小時，而我們在烈日之下辛苦了一整天，怎麼會領同樣的工錢呢？』
13 「園主對他們當中的一個人說，『朋友，我並沒有欠你呀！我們不是講好付你一個銀幣嗎？ 14 拿著你的工錢走吧。我給那後來的和你一樣的工錢，是我願意。 15 難道我不可隨意使用自己的錢嗎？因為我慷慨，你就眼紅嗎？』 16 因此，為首的將要殿後，殿後的將要為首。」
耶穌第三次預言自己受難
17 在去耶路撒冷的途中，耶穌把十二個門徒帶到一邊，對他們說： 18 「你們要留意，我們現在前往耶路撒冷，人子將被交給祭司長和律法教師。他們要判祂死刑， 19 把祂交給外族人，受嘲弄、鞭打，被釘在十字架上。但第三天祂必復活。」
一個母親的請求
20 當時，西庇太的妻子帶著兩個兒子上前，跪在耶穌面前，有事要求祂。
21 耶穌問她：「你要什麼呢？」
她說：「在你的國度，請讓我這兩個兒子一個坐在你右邊，一個坐在你左邊。」
22 耶穌回答說：「你們不知道自己在求什麼。我要喝的那一杯，你們能喝嗎？」
他們說：「我們能。」
23 耶穌對他們說：「我要喝的那一杯，你們也要喝。不過誰坐在我的左右不是我來定，而是我父為誰預備的，就讓誰坐。」
24 其他十個門徒聽見這事，都對他們兄弟二人十分惱火。 25 於是，耶穌把他們叫來，說：「外族人有君王統治他們，有大臣管理他們。但你們不可這樣。 26 你們中間，誰要當首領，誰就要做大家的僕人； 27 誰要居首位，誰就要做大家的奴僕。 28 正如人子不是來受人服侍，而是來服侍人，並且犧牲性命，作許多人的贖價。」
治好兩個瞎子
29 耶穌和祂的門徒離開耶利哥時，有一大群人跟著祂。 30 有兩個瞎子正坐在路旁，聽說耶穌經過，就高聲喊叫：「主啊，大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」 31 眾人責備他們，叫他們不要出聲，他們卻喊得更大聲了：「主啊，大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」
32 耶穌停下腳步，叫了他們來，問他們：「你們要我為你們做什麼？」 33 他們說：「主啊，我們想能夠看見。」 34 耶穌就動了慈心，摸他們的眼睛，他們立刻得見光明，並跟從了耶穌。
光榮進聖城
21 耶穌和門徒離耶路撒冷越來越近了，他們來到橄欖山旁的伯法其。 2 耶穌派兩個門徒進村，並對他們說：「你們到前面的村莊去，就會看見一頭母驢拴在那裡，旁邊還有一頭驢駒。你們把牠們解開，牽到我這裡。 3 要是有人問起，你們就說，『主要用牠們』，那人會立刻讓你們牽來。」 4 這件事是要應驗先知的話：
5 「要對錫安城[b]說，『看啊，你的君王來了！祂謙卑地騎著驢，騎著一頭驢駒。』」
6 兩個門徒照著耶穌的吩咐去了， 7 把母驢和驢駒帶了回來。他們把自己的衣服蓋在驢背上，讓耶穌騎上去。 8 許多人把衣服鋪在路上，也有些人砍下樹枝鋪在路上。 9 眾人前呼後擁，歡呼著說：
「和散那[c]歸於大衛的後裔！
奉主名來的當受稱頌！
和散那歸於至高之處的上帝！」
10 耶穌進耶路撒冷時，全城轟動，說：「這是誰？」
11 眾人說：「祂是先知耶穌，來自加利利的拿撒勒。」
潔淨聖殿
12 耶穌進入聖殿，趕走裡面做買賣的人，又推翻兌換錢幣之人的桌子和賣鴿子之人的凳子。
13 耶穌斥責他們說：「聖經上說，『我的殿必稱為禱告的殿。』你們竟把它變成了賊窩。」
14 殿中的瞎子和瘸子都來到耶穌面前，祂便醫好了他們。 15 祭司長和律法教師看見祂所行的奇事，又聽見小孩子在聖殿裡高聲喊著：「和散那歸於大衛的後裔！」便十分惱怒。 16 他們責問耶穌說：「你聽見這些人說的了嗎？」
耶穌說：「我聽見了。聖經上說，『你使孩童和嬰兒口中發出頌讚』，你們沒有讀過嗎？」 17 然後，祂便離開他們，出城前往伯大尼，在那裡住宿。
咒詛無花果樹
18 清早，耶穌在回城的途中餓了。 19 祂看見路旁有一棵無花果樹，便走過去，卻發現除了葉子外什麼也沒有。
祂對那棵樹說：「你將再不會結果子！」那棵樹立刻枯萎了。
20 門徒見了就驚奇地問：「這棵樹怎麼一下子枯萎了？」
21 耶穌回答說：「我實在告訴你們，如果你們有信心、不懷疑，不但能使無花果樹枯乾，就算對這座山說，『從這裡挪開，投進大海裡！』也照樣可以實現。 22 所以，你們禱告時無論求什麼，只要有信心，就必定得到。」
質問耶穌的權柄
23 耶穌進了聖殿，正在教導人的時候，祭司長和民間的長老來質問祂：「你憑什麼權柄做這些事？誰授權給你了？」
24 耶穌說：「我也要問你們一個問題，你們回答了，我就告訴你們我憑什麼權柄做這些事。 25 約翰的洗禮是從哪裡來的？從天上來的，還是從人來的？」
他們便彼此議論說：「如果我們說『是從天上來的』，祂一定會問我們，『那你們為什麼不信他？』 26 但如果我們說『是從人來的』，又怕觸怒百姓，因為他們相信約翰是個先知。」 27 於是，他們回答耶穌說：「我們不知道。」
耶穌說：「我也不告訴你們我憑什麼權柄做這些事。」
兩個兒子的比喻
28 耶穌又說：「你們怎樣看這件事？某人有兩個兒子。他對大兒子說，『孩子，你今天到葡萄園工作吧！』
29 「大兒子回答說，『我不去！』但後來他改變了主意，就去了。
30 「那父親又對小兒子說，『你今天到葡萄園工作吧！』小兒子回答說，『好的，父親。』他答應了，卻沒有去。
31 「你們認為這兩個兒子，到底哪一個服從父親呢？」
他們回答道：「大兒子。」
耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，稅吏和娼妓要比你們先進上帝的國。 32 因為約翰來指示你們當行的正路，你們不信他，但稅吏和娼妓信了。你們親眼看見了這些事，竟然還是執迷不悟，不肯信他。
惡毒的佃戶
33 「你們再聽一個比喻。有個園主栽種了一個葡萄園，在園子的四周建造圍牆，又在園中挖了一個榨酒池，建了一座瞭望臺，然後把葡萄園租給佃戶，就出遠門了。 34 到了收穫的季節，園主派奴僕到佃戶那裡收果子。 35 但那些佃戶卻抓住他的奴僕，打傷一個，殺死一個，又用石頭打死了一個。 36 於是，園主又派更多的奴僕去，結果也遭到同樣的對待。 37 最後，園主派了自己的兒子去，心想，『他們肯定會尊重我的兒子。』 38 然而，那些佃戶看見園主的兒子來了，就商量說，『這是園主的繼承人。來吧！我們殺掉他，佔了他的產業！』 39 於是，他們抓住他，把他推出園外殺了。 40 那麼，當園主回來的時候，他會怎樣處置那些佃戶呢？」
41 他們說：「他會毫不留情地除掉那些惡人，然後把葡萄園租給其他按時交果子的佃戶。」
42 耶穌說：
「『工匠丟棄的石頭已成了房角石。
這是主的作為，在我們看來奇妙莫測。』
你們難道沒有讀過這段經文嗎？ 43 所以，我告訴你們，將把上帝的國從你們那裡奪去，賜給結果子的人。 44 凡跌在這石頭上的人，一定粉身碎骨；這石頭落在誰身上，就會把誰砸爛。」
45 祭司長和法利賽人聽了耶穌的比喻，明白是針對他們講的。 46 他們試圖逮捕耶穌，但又害怕百姓，因為百姓都認為耶穌是先知。
王宴客的比喻
22 耶穌又用比喻對他們說： 2 「天國就像一個王為兒子籌備婚宴。 3 他派奴僕去請受邀的客人，可是客人都不肯赴宴。 4 王再派其他奴僕去，說，『去告訴被邀請的人，我的宴席已經備好，公牛和肥畜都宰了，一切都預備妥當，來赴婚宴吧！』 5 那些人卻毫不理會地走了，一個去種田，一個去做買賣， 6 其餘的竟然抓住王的奴僕，把他們羞辱一番後殺了。 7 王大怒，派軍隊去剿滅凶手，燒毀他們的城。
8 「然後，他對奴僕說，『婚宴已預備好了，只是被邀請的人不配。 9 所以你們到街頭巷尾，把所有見到的人都請來。』 10 奴僕到街上把遇到的人都請了來，好人壞人都有，大廳裡滿了客人。
11 「王出來會見在座的客人，發現有一個人沒有穿禮服， 12 就問他，『朋友，你來這裡怎麼不穿婚宴的禮服呢？』那人無言以對。 13 王便吩咐侍從，『把他手腳綁起來丟到外面的黑暗裡，讓他在那裡哀哭切齒。』」
14 耶穌又說：「被邀請的人多，選上的人少。」
以納稅問題刁難耶穌
15 那時，法利賽人出去策劃怎樣從耶穌的話裡找把柄陷害祂。 16 他們派了自己的門徒跟希律黨人一同去問耶穌：「老師，我們知道你誠實無偽，按真理傳上帝的道，你不徇情面，不以貌取人。 17 那麼請告訴我們，納稅給凱撒對不對呢？」
18 耶穌看出了他們的惡意，就說：「你們這些偽君子，為什麼試探我呢？ 19 拿一個納稅用的錢幣來給我看。」他們就拿給祂一個銀幣。
20 耶穌問他們：「上面刻的是誰的像和名號？」
21 他們說：「凱撒的。」
耶穌說：「那麼，屬於凱撒的東西應該給凱撒，屬於上帝的東西應該給上帝。」 22 他們聽了很驚奇，只好離開祂走了。
論復活
23 同一天，不相信死人會復活的撒都該人也來問耶穌， 24 說：「老師，摩西說，『如果一個人死了，沒有兒女，只留下妻子，他的兄弟就當娶嫂嫂，替哥哥傳宗接代。』 25 從前，我們這裡有弟兄七人，老大結了婚，沒有孩子就死了，把妻子留給了弟弟。 26 二弟、三弟一直到七弟都相繼娶了嫂嫂，都沒留下孩子。 27 最後，那女人也死了。 28 那麼，到復活的時候，她將是誰的妻子呢？因為他們都娶過她。」
29 耶穌說：「你們弄錯了。你們不明白聖經，也不知道上帝的能力。 30 因為到復活的時候，人們將不娶也不嫁，就像天上的天使一樣。
31 「關於死人復活的事，難道你們沒有讀過上帝對你們說過的話嗎？ 32 祂說，『我是亞伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。』上帝不是死人的上帝，而是活人的上帝。」 33 眾人聽到祂的教導都很驚奇。
最大的誡命
34 法利賽人聽見耶穌使撒都該人無言以對，就聚集在一起。 35 其中有位律法專家試探耶穌說： 36 「老師，請問律法中哪一條誡命最重要呢？」
37 耶穌回答說：「『你要全心、全情、全意愛主——你的上帝』， 38 這是第一條也是最重要的誡命。 39 第二條也相似，就是『要愛鄰如己』。 40 律法和先知的全部教導都以這兩條誡命為基礎。」
基督的身分
41 耶穌趁著法利賽人聚在那裡，就問他們： 42 「你們對基督有何看法？祂是誰的後裔？」他們答道：「大衛的後裔。」
43 耶穌說：「那麼，為什麼大衛受聖靈感動，稱祂為主呢？大衛曾說，
44 『主對我主說，
你坐在我的右邊，
等我使你的仇敵伏在你腳下。』
45 既然大衛稱基督為主，基督又怎麼會是大衛的後裔呢？」 46 沒人能回答耶穌的問題。從此再沒有人敢用問題來刁難耶穌了。
譴責律法教師和法利賽人
23 隨後，耶穌對百姓和門徒說： 2 「律法教師和法利賽人坐在摩西的位子上講授律法。 3 你們要遵行他們的教導，但不要效法他們的行為，因為他們言行不一。 4 他們捆好重擔放在別人肩上，而自己連一根指頭也不肯動！
5 「他們的所作所為是為了給人看的，他們把額上佩戴的經文盒子加寬了，又將衣裳的穗邊加長了。 6 他們喜歡宴席中的上座和會堂裡的首位。 7 他們喜歡別人在街市上問候他們，稱呼他們為老師[d]。 8 但你們不要讓別人稱呼你們為老師，因為你們只有一位老師，你們彼此都是弟兄。 9 不要稱呼地上的人為父親，因為你們只有一位父親，祂在天上。 10 不要讓人稱你們為導師，因為你們只有一位導師——基督。 11 你們當中誰最偉大，誰就要作你們的僕人。 12 自高的人必遭貶抑，謙卑的人必得尊榮。
13 「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！因為你們當著人們的面關閉天國之門，自己不進去，也不讓別人進去。
14 「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！因為你們侵吞寡婦的財產，還假意做冗長的禱告。因此，你們會受到更嚴厲的刑罰。[e]
15 「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！因為你們走遍海洋和陸地去引人入教，等人入了教，卻使他淪為地獄之子，比你們還壞兩倍。
16 「瞎眼的嚮導啊，你們有禍了！你們說，『指著聖殿發誓，不算數；但是指著聖殿裡的金子發誓，就要遵守誓言。』 17 無知的瞎子啊！金子重要呢？還是使金子神聖的聖殿重要呢？ 18 你們又說，『指著祭壇發誓不算數，但是指著壇上的供物發誓，就要遵守誓言。』 19 瞎眼的人啊！供物重要呢？還是使供物神聖的祭壇重要呢？ 20 其實指著祭壇發誓，就是指著祭壇和壇上的一切東西發誓。 21 指著聖殿發誓，就是指著聖殿和住在裡面的上帝發誓。 22 指著天發誓，就是指著上帝的寶座和坐在寶座上的那位發誓。
23 「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！你們把薄荷、茴香、芹菜獻上十分之一，卻忽略了律法中更重要的事——公正、憐憫、信實。後者是你們本該做的，前者也不可忽略。 24 瞎眼的嚮導啊！你們濾出蚊蟲，卻吞下駱駝。
25 「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！你們洗淨杯盤的外面，裡頭卻盛滿了貪婪和放縱。 26 瞎眼的法利賽人啊！要先洗淨杯盤的裡面，好讓外面也乾淨。[f]
27 「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！你們好像粉飾的墳墓，外表好看，裡面卻裝滿了死人的骨頭和各樣污穢之物。 28 你們虛有公義的外表，內心卻充滿了各種的虛偽和罪惡。
29 「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！你們為先知建墓，為義人修碑，並且說， 30 『如果我們活在我們祖先的時代，絕不會和他們一起去殺害先知。』 31 這樣，你們自己證明自己是殺害先知之人的後代。 32 去填滿你們祖先的罪惡吧！ 33 你們這些蛇，這些毒蛇的後代啊，你們怎能逃脫地獄的刑罰呢？
34 「看啊，我派先知、智者和律法教師到你們當中，有的會遭到你們的殺害，被你們釘在十字架上；有的會在會堂裡被你們鞭打，被你們從這城追到那城。 35 因此，所有義人在地上所流的血，就是從義人亞伯的血，直到你們在聖所和祭壇之間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒加利亞的血，都要歸到你們身上。 36 我實在告訴你們，這一切的罪責都要歸到這個世代。
為耶路撒冷哀歎
37 「耶路撒冷啊！耶路撒冷啊！你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死派到你那裡的使者。我多次想要招聚你的兒女，像母雞將小雞聚集在翅膀底下，可是你們卻不肯。 38 看啊！你們的家園將一片荒涼。 39 我告訴你們，從現在起，直到你們說『奉主名來的當受稱頌』那天之前，你們再也見不到我了。」
預言聖殿被毀
24 耶穌離開聖殿時，門徒上前把宏偉的聖殿指給祂看。 2 耶穌對他們說：「你們看見這殿宇了嗎？我實在告訴你們，將來它要被完全拆毀，在這裡找不到兩塊疊在一起的石頭。」
世界末日的預兆
3 耶穌正坐在橄欖山上，門徒私下來問祂：「請告訴我們，這事什麼時候會發生？你再來和世界末日的時候會有什麼預兆？」
4 耶穌回答說：「你們要小心，免得被人迷惑。 5 因為將來會有許多人冒我的名而來，說『我是基督』，欺騙許多人。 6 你們聽見戰爭爆發、戰訊頻傳時，不要驚慌，因為這些事必然發生，只是末日還沒有到。 7 民族將與民族互鬥，國家將與國家相爭，各處將有饑荒和地震。 8 這些只是災難[g]的開始。
9 「那時，你們將遭人迫害、殺害，並因我的名而被萬民憎恨。 10 那時，許多人會放棄信仰，互相出賣，彼此憎恨。 11 許多假先知也會出現，迷惑許多人。 12 由於罪惡氾濫，許多人的愛逐漸冷淡。 13 但堅忍到底的必定得救。 14 這天國的福音將傳遍天下，讓萬民都聽見，然後末日才會來臨。
15 「當你們看見但以理先知所說的『那帶來毀滅的可憎之物』站立在聖地的時候（讀者須會意）， 16 住在猶太地區的人要趕快逃到山上去， 17 在屋頂上的人不要下來進屋收拾行李， 18 在田間工作的人也不要回家取外衣。 19 那時，孕婦和哺育嬰兒的母親們可就遭殃了！ 20 你們要祈求上帝，不要讓你們在冬天或安息日逃難， 21 因為那時世上將有空前絕後的大災難。 22 如果不縮短災期，恐怕沒有人能活命。但為了選民的緣故，災期必被縮短。
23 「那時，如果有人對你們說，『看啊！基督在這裡』，或說，『基督在那裡』，你們不要相信。 24 因為假基督和假先知將出現，行很大的神蹟奇事來迷惑人，如果可能，甚至要迷惑上帝揀選的子民。 25 你們要記住，我已經預先告訴你們了。
26 「因此，如果有人對你們說，『看啊！基督在曠野』，你們不要出去；或者說，『看啊！基督在屋裡』，你們也不要相信。 27 人子降臨時的情形就像閃電從東方發出一直照到西方。 28 屍體在哪裡，禿鷹就會聚集在哪裡。
29 「當災難的日子一過，
『太陽變黑，
月亮無光，
眾星隕落，
天體震動。』
30 「那時，天上會出現人子降臨的預兆，地上的萬族都要哀哭，他們將看見人子帶著能力和極大的榮耀駕著天上的雲降臨。 31 在響亮的號聲中，祂將差遣天使從四面八方、天涯海角招聚祂揀選的人。
無花果樹的比喻
32 「你們可以從無花果樹學個道理。當無花果樹發芽長葉的時候，你們就知道夏天快來了。 33 同樣，當你們看見這一切事發生時，就知道人子快來了，就在門口。 34 我實在告訴你們，這個世代還沒有過去，這一切都要發生。 35 天地都要過去，但我的話永遠長存。
警醒準備
36 「但沒有人知道那日子和時辰何時來到，連天上的天使也不知道，人子[h]也不知道，只有天父知道。 37 人子降臨時的情形就像挪亞的時代。 38 洪水來臨之前，人們吃吃喝喝，男婚女嫁，一直到挪亞進方舟那天； 39 他們懵然不知，直到洪水來把他們全沖走了。人子降臨時的情形也是這樣。 40 那時，兩個人在田裡，一個將被接去，一個將被撇下； 41 兩個婦人推磨，一個將被接去，一個將被撇下。 42 所以，你們要警醒，因為你們不知道你們的主會在哪一天來。 43 你們都知道，如果一家的主人知道賊會在半夜幾點來，就必警醒，不讓賊入屋偷竊。 44 同樣，你們也要做好準備，因為在你們意想不到的時候，人子就來了。
兩種奴僕
45 「誰是那個受主人委託管理家中大小僕役、按時分糧食給他們、又忠心又精明的奴僕呢？ 46 主人回家時，看見他盡忠職守，他就有福了。 47 我實在告訴你們，主人一定會把所有產業都交給他管理。 48 但如果奴僕邪惡，以為主人不會那麼快回來， 49 就毆打同伴，跟醉漢一起吃喝玩樂， 50 主人會在他想不到的日子、不知道的時辰回來， 51 嚴厲地懲罰[i]他，判他和偽君子同樣的罪。他必在那裡哀哭切齒。
十個伴娘的比喻
25 「那時，天國就像十個伴娘提著燈去迎接新郎， 2 其中五個是糊塗的，五個是聰明的。 3 五個糊塗的只顧拿著燈，卻不預備油； 4 那些聰明的不但拿著燈，還用器皿預備了足夠的油。 5 新郎遲遲未到，她們等得困倦，便打盹睡著了。
6 「到了半夜，忽然聽見有人喊道，『新郎來了！出來迎接吧！』 7 伴娘們醒來，把燈點亮。 8 糊塗的伴娘對聰明的伴娘說，『請給我們一些油吧，因為我們的燈快要滅了！』
9 「聰明的伴娘回答說，『不行，我們的油不夠大家用的，你們去油店買吧！』
10 「當糊塗的伴娘去買油的時候，新郎來了。那些預備好的伴娘跟他一同進去參加婚宴，門就關了。 11 後來，其他伴娘回來了，喊道，『主啊！主啊！請給我們開門吧！』
12 「新郎卻說，『我實在告訴你們，我不認識你們。』
13 「所以，你們要警醒，因為你們不知道我回來的日子和時辰。
才幹的比喻
14 「天國就像一個人即將遠行，他召來自己的奴僕，把產業託付給他們， 15 按各人的才幹分別交給一個人五千銀幣，一個人兩千銀幣，一個人一千銀幣，然後便離開了。 16 得到五千銀幣的立刻去做買賣，結果賺了五千； 17 得到兩千銀幣的也賺了兩千； 18 可是得到一千銀幣的卻挖了一個洞，把主人的錢藏在地裡。 19 過了很久，這些奴僕的主人回來了，要跟他們結帳。 20 得到五千銀幣的奴僕帶來了另外的五千，說，『主人，你交給我五千銀幣，請看，我又賺了五千。』

末日的審判
31 「當人子在祂的榮耀中與眾天使降臨的時候，祂要坐在榮耀的寶座上， 32 萬民要聚集在祂面前。祂要把他們分開，就像牧人把綿羊和山羊分開一樣。 33 祂要把綿羊放在右邊，山羊放在左邊。 34 那時，王會對右邊的人說，『我父所賜福的人啊，來承受創世以來為你們預備的國度吧。 35 因為我饑餓時，你們給我吃的；我口渴時，你們給我喝的；我身在異鄉時，你們接待我； 36 我赤身露體時，你們給我穿的；我生病時，你們照顧我；我坐牢時，你們來看我。』

44 「他們會問，『主啊，我們什麼時候見你餓了，或渴了，或身在異鄉，或赤身露體，或病了，或坐牢，卻沒有幫助你呢？』
45 「王會回答說，『我實在告訴你們，你們沒有幫助我最卑微的一個弟兄，就是沒有幫助我。』 46 這些人要受永遠的刑罰，但義人要得到永遠的生命。」
謀害耶穌
26 耶穌講完了這番話後，對門徒說： 2 「你們知道，兩天後就是逾越節，到時人子會被出賣，被釘在十字架上。」 3 那時，祭司長和民間的長老正聚集在大祭司該亞法的府裡， 4 密謀逮捕、殺害耶穌。 5 但他們認為在節日期間不宜下手，因為可能會在百姓中引起騷亂。
耶穌受膏
6 當耶穌在伯大尼患過痲瘋病的西門家裡時， 7 有個女子趁著祂坐席的時候，把一瓶珍貴的香膏倒在祂頭上。
8 門徒看見後，生氣地說：「真浪費， 9 這瓶香膏值不少錢，用來賙濟窮人多好！」
10 耶穌看出他們的心思，便說：「何必為難這女子？她在我身上做的是一件美事。 11 因為你們身邊總會有窮人，可是你們身邊不會總有我。 12 她把香膏澆在我身上是為我的安葬做準備。 13 我實在告訴你們，無論福音傳到世界哪個角落，人們都會傳揚這女人的事蹟，紀念她。」
猶大出賣耶穌
14 後來，十二門徒中的加略人猶大去見祭司長，說： 15 「如果我把耶穌交給你們，你們肯出多少錢？」他們就給了他三十塊銀子。 16 從那時起，猶大就尋找機會出賣耶穌。
最後的晚餐
17 除酵節的第一天，門徒來問耶穌說：「我們該在什麼地方為你準備逾越節的晚餐呢？」
18 耶穌說：「你們進城去，到某人那裡對他說，『老師說祂的時候到了，祂要與門徒在你家中過逾越節。』」 19 門徒照耶穌的吩咐準備了逾越節的晚餐。
20 傍晚，耶穌和十二個門徒吃晚餐。 21 席間，耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，你們中間有一個人要出賣我。」
22 他們都非常憂愁，相繼追問耶穌，說：「主啊，肯定不是我吧？」
23 祂說：「那和我一同在盤子裡蘸餅吃的就是要出賣我的人。 24 人子一定會受害，正如聖經上有關祂的記載，但出賣人子的人有禍了，他還不如不生在這世上！」
25 出賣耶穌的猶大問祂：「老師，是我嗎？」
耶穌說：「你自己說了。」
26 他們吃的時候，耶穌拿起餅來，祝謝後掰開分給門徒，說：「拿去吃吧，這是我的身體。」
27 接著又拿起杯來，祝謝後遞給門徒，說：「你們都喝吧， 28 這是我為萬人所流的立約之血，為了使罪得到赦免。 29 我告訴你們，從今天起，一直到我在我父的國與你們共飲新酒的那一天之前，我不會再喝這葡萄酒。」 30 他們唱完詩歌，就出門去了橄欖山。
預言彼得不認主
31 耶穌對門徒說：「今天晚上，你們都要離棄我。因為聖經上說，『我要擊打牧人，羊群將四散。』 32 但我復活後，要先你們一步去加利利。」
33 彼得說：「即使所有的人都離棄你，我也永遠不會離棄你！」
34 耶穌說：「我實在告訴你，今夜雞叫以前，你會三次不認我。」
35 彼得說：「就算要我跟你一起死，我也不會不認你！」其餘的門徒也都這樣說。
在客西馬尼禱告
36 耶穌和門徒到了一個叫客西馬尼的地方，祂對門徒說：「你們坐在這裡，我到那邊去禱告。」 37 祂帶了彼得和西庇太的兩個兒子一起去。祂心裡非常憂傷痛苦， 38 就對他們說：「我心裡非常憂傷，幾乎要死，你們留在這裡跟我一起警醒。」
39 祂稍往前走，俯伏在地上禱告：「我父啊！如果可以，求你撤去此杯。然而，願你的旨意成就，而非我的意願。」
40 耶穌回到三個門徒那裡，見他們都睡著了，就對彼得說：「難道你們不能跟我一同警醒一時嗎？ 41 你們要警醒禱告，免得陷入誘惑。你們的心靈雖然願意，肉體卻很軟弱。」
42 祂第二次去禱告說：「我父啊！如果我非喝此杯不可，願你的旨意成就。」 43 祂回來時見他們又睡著了，因為他們睏得眼皮發沉。 44 耶穌再次離開他們，第三次去禱告，說的是同樣的話。
45 然後，祂回到門徒那裡，對他們說：「你們還在睡覺，還在休息嗎？看啊！時候到了，人子要被出賣，交在罪人手裡了。 46 起來，我們走吧。看，出賣我的人已經來了！」
耶穌被捕
47 耶穌還在說話的時候，十二門徒中的猶大來了，隨行的還有祭司長和民間長老派來的一大群拿著刀棍的人。 48 出賣耶穌的猶大預先和他們定了暗號，說：「我親吻誰，誰就是耶穌，你們把祂抓起來。」 49 猶大隨即走到耶穌跟前，說：「老師，你好。」然後親吻耶穌。
50 耶穌對他說：「朋友，你要做的事，快動手吧。」於是那些人上前，下手捉拿耶穌。 51 耶穌的跟隨者中有人伸手拔出佩刀朝大祭司的奴僕砍去，削掉了他一隻耳朵。
52 耶穌對他說：「收刀入鞘吧！因為動刀的必死在刀下。 53 難道你不知道，我可以請求我父馬上派十二營以上的天使來保護我嗎？ 54 我若這樣做，聖經上有關這事必如此發生的話又怎能應驗呢？」
55 那時，耶穌對眾人說：「你們像對付強盜一樣拿著刀棍來抓我嗎？我天天在聖殿裡教導人，你們並沒有來抓我。 56 不過這一切事的發生，是要應驗先知書上的話。」那時，門徒都丟下祂逃走了。
大祭司審問耶穌
57 捉拿耶穌的人把祂押到大祭司該亞法那裡。律法教師和長老已聚集在那裡。 58 彼得遠遠地跟著耶穌，一直跟到大祭司的院子裡。他坐在衛兵當中，想知道事情的結果。
59 祭司長和全公會的人正在尋找假證據來控告耶穌，好定祂死罪。 60 雖然有很多假證人誣告祂，但都找不到真憑實據。最後有兩個人上前高聲說：
61 「這個人曾經說過，『我能拆毀聖殿，三天內把它重建起來。』」
62 大祭司站起來質問耶穌：「你不回答嗎？這些人作證控告你的是什麼呢？」 63 耶穌還是沉默不語。
大祭司又對祂說：「我奉永活上帝的名命令你起誓告訴我們，你是不是上帝的兒子基督？」
64 耶穌說：「如你所言。但我告訴你們，將來你們要看見人子坐在大能者的右邊，駕著天上的雲降臨。」
65 大祭司撕裂衣服，說：「祂褻瀆了上帝！我們還需要什麼證人呢？你們現在親耳聽見了祂說褻瀆的話， 66 你們看怎麼辦？」
他們回應說：「祂該死！」
67 他們就吐唾沫在祂臉上，揮拳打祂。還有人一邊打祂耳光，一邊說： 68 「基督啊！給我們說預言吧，是誰在打你？」
彼得三次不認主
69 當時，彼得還坐在外面的院子裡，有一個婢女走過來對他說：「你也是跟那個加利利人耶穌一夥的。」
70 彼得卻當眾否認：「我不知道你在說什麼。」
71 正當他走到門口要離開時，另一個婢女看見他，就對旁邊的人說：「這個人是跟拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的！」
72 彼得再次否認，並發誓說：「我不認識那個人。」 73 過了一會兒，旁邊站著的人過來對彼得說：「你肯定也是他們一夥的，聽你的口音就知道了。」
74 彼得又賭咒又發誓，說：「我不認識那個人！」就在這時候，雞叫了。 75 彼得想起耶穌說的話：「在雞叫以前，你會三次不認我。」他就跑出去，失聲痛哭。
猶大的下場
27 到了清晨，眾祭司長和民間的長老商定要處死耶穌。 2 他們把祂綁起來，押送到總督彼拉多那裡。
3 出賣耶穌的猶大看見耶穌被定了罪，感到很後悔，就把那三十塊銀子還給祭司長和長老，說： 4 「我出賣了清白無辜的人，我犯罪了！」
他們說：「那是你自己的事，跟我們有什麼關係？」
5 猶大把錢扔在聖殿裡，出去上吊自盡了。
6 祭司長們撿起銀子，說：「這是血錢，不可收進聖殿的庫房。」 7 他們商議，決定用這些錢買下陶匠的地作為埋葬異鄉人的墳場。 8 那塊地至今被稱為「血田」。 9 這就應驗了耶利米先知的話：「他們用以色列人給祂估定的三十塊銀子， 10 買了陶匠的一塊田，正如主指示我的。」
耶穌在彼拉多面前受審
11 耶穌站在總督面前受審。總督問：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」
耶穌說：「如你所言。」
12 當祭司長和長老控告祂時，祂一句話也不說。 13 彼拉多就問：「你沒聽見他們對你的諸多控告嗎？」 14 耶穌仍然一言不發，彼拉多感到十分驚奇。
15 每逢逾越節，總督會照慣例按民眾的選擇釋放一個犯人。 16 那時，有一個惡名昭彰的囚犯名叫巴拉巴。 17 百姓聚在一起的時候，彼拉多就問他們：「你們要我給你們釋放誰？巴拉巴還是被稱為基督的耶穌？」 18 因為彼拉多知道他們把耶穌抓來是因為嫉妒。
19 彼拉多正坐堂斷案時，他夫人派人來對他說：「你不要插手這個義人的事！我今天在夢中因為這個人受了許多苦。」
20 祭司長和長老卻慫恿百姓要求釋放巴拉巴，處死耶穌。 21 總督再次問百姓：「這兩個人，你們要我釋放哪一個？」他們說：「巴拉巴！」
22 彼拉多問：「那麼，我怎樣處置那個被稱為基督的耶穌呢？」
他們齊聲說：「把祂釘在十字架上！」
23 彼拉多問：「為什麼？祂犯了什麼罪？」
他們卻更大聲地喊叫：「把祂釘在十字架上！」
24 彼拉多見再說也無濟於事，反而會引起騷亂，於是拿了一盆水來，在眾人面前洗手，說：「流這義人的血，罪不在我，你們自己負責。」
25 眾人都說：「流祂血的責任由我們和我們的子孫承擔！」
26 於是，彼拉多為他們釋放了巴拉巴，下令將耶穌鞭打後，帶出去釘十字架。
耶穌受辱
27 士兵把耶穌押進總督府，叫全營的士兵都聚集在祂周圍。 28 他們剝下耶穌的衣服，替祂披上一件朱紅色的長袍， 29 用荊棘編成冠冕，戴在祂頭上，又拿一根葦稈放在祂右手裡，跪在祂跟前戲弄祂，說：「猶太人的王萬歲！」 30 然後向祂吐唾沫，拿過葦稈打祂的頭。 31 他們戲弄完了，就脫去祂的袍子，給祂穿上原來的衣服，把祂押出去釘十字架。
釘十字架
32 路上，他們遇見一個叫西門的古利奈人，就強迫他背耶穌的十字架。
33 來到一個地方，名叫各各他——意思是「髑髏地」， 34 士兵給耶穌喝摻了苦膽汁的酒，祂嚐了一口，不肯喝。
35 他們把耶穌釘在十字架上，還抽籤分了祂的衣服， 36 然後坐在那裡看守。 37 他們在祂頭頂上掛了一個牌子，上面寫著祂的罪狀：「這是猶太人的王耶穌」。 38 有兩個強盜也被釘在十字架上，一個在祂右邊，一個在祂左邊。 39 過路的人都嘲笑祂，搖著頭說： 40 「你這聲稱把聖殿拆毀又在三天內重建的人啊，救救自己吧！你要是上帝的兒子，就從十字架上下來吧！」
41 祭司長、律法教師和長老也嘲諷說： 42 「祂救了別人，卻救不了自己！祂要是以色列的王，就從十字架上跳下來吧！我們就信祂。 43 祂說信靠上帝，如果上帝喜悅祂，就讓上帝來救祂吧！因為祂自稱是上帝的兒子。」 44 甚至跟祂一同被釘十字架的強盜也這樣嘲笑祂。
耶穌之死
45 從正午一直到下午三點，黑暗籠罩著整個大地。 46 大約下午三點，耶穌大聲呼喊：「以利，以利，拉馬撒巴各大尼？」意思是：「我的上帝，我的上帝，你為什麼離棄我？」
47 有些站在旁邊的人聽見了，就說：「這人在呼叫以利亞呢。」 48 其中一人連忙跑去拿了一塊海綿，蘸滿酸酒，綁在葦稈上送給祂喝。 49 其他人卻說：「等一下！我們看看以利亞會不會來救祂。」
50 耶穌又大喊了一聲，就斷了氣。
51 就在那時，聖殿裡的幔子從上到下裂成兩半，大地震動，岩石崩裂， 52 墳墓打開，很多死去的聖徒復活過來。 53 他們在耶穌復活後離開墳墓，進聖城向許多人顯現。
54 看守耶穌的百夫長和士兵看見地震及所發生的一切，都很害怕，說：「這人真是上帝的兒子啊！」 55 有好些婦女在遠處觀看，她們從加利利就跟隨了耶穌，服事祂。 56 其中有抹大拉的瑪麗亞、雅各和約西的母親瑪麗亞以及西庇太兩個兒子的母親。
封石守墓
57 傍晚，從亞利馬太來了一位名叫約瑟的富人，他是耶穌的門徒。 58 他去求見彼拉多，要求領取耶穌的遺體，彼拉多就下令把耶穌的遺體交給他。 59 約瑟領了遺體，用乾淨的細麻布裹好， 60 安放在他為自己在岩壁上鑿出的新墓穴裡，並滾來一塊大石頭封閉墓穴的入口，然後離去。 61 那時，抹大拉的瑪麗亞和另一個瑪麗亞坐在墳墓的對面。

19 耶稣说完这番话，就离开加利利来到约旦河对岸的犹太地区。 2 有一大群人跟着祂，祂就在那里医好了他们的病。
3 有几个法利赛人到耶稣那里想试探祂，便问祂：“丈夫可以用任何理由休妻吗？”
4 耶稣回答说：“你们没有读过吗？太初，造物主造了男人和女人，并且说， 5 ‘因此，人要离开父母，与妻子结合，二人成为一体。’ 6 这样，夫妻不再是两个人，而是一体了。因此，上帝配合的，人不可分开。”
7 他们追问：“那么，为什么摩西说，只要给妻子休书，就可以休她呢？”
8 耶稣说：“因为摩西知道你们铁石心肠，所以才准你们休妻。但起初并不是这样。 9 我告诉你们，除非是妻子不贞，否则，任何人休妻另娶，就是犯通奸罪[a]。”
10 门徒对耶稣说：“如果夫妻关系是这样，还不如不结婚。”

耶稣为小孩子祝福
13 有人带着小孩子来见耶稣，请求耶稣为他们按手祷告，却受到门徒的责备。
14 耶稣说：“让小孩子到我这里来，不要阻止他们，因为天国属于这样的人。” 15 于是祂为他们按手祷告，然后才离开那里。
有钱的青年
16 有一个人来请教耶稣：“老师，我该做什么善事才能获得永生呢？”
17 耶稣说：“你为什么问我做什么善事？只有上帝是善的，你要得永生，就必须遵守祂的诫命。”
18 那人问：“什么诫命呢？”
耶稣答道：“不可杀人，不可通奸，不可偷盗，不可作伪证， 19 要孝敬父母，并且爱邻如己。”
20 那青年说：“这些我早已遵守了，还缺什么呢？”

葡萄园工人的比喻
20 耶稣接着说：“因为天国就像一个园主清早去外面请工人到他的葡萄园做工。 2 他跟工人讲好一天的工钱是一个银币，然后派他们去葡萄园。
3 “大约上午九点钟，园主出去看见一些人站在街市上无所事事， 4 就对他们说，‘你们到我的葡萄园来工作吧，我会给你们合理的工钱。’
5 “他们便去了。正午和下午三点钟，他又出去继续请人到葡萄园做工。 6 到了下午五点钟的时候，他再次出去，看见还有人闲站在那里，就问他们，‘为什么你们整天站在这里无所事事呢？’ 7 他们回答说，‘因为没有人雇用我们。’园主说，‘你们也到我的葡萄园来吧！’

11 “他们拿着工钱满腹牢骚地对园主说， 12 ‘那些最晚来的人只工作了一小时，而我们在烈日之下辛苦了一整天，怎么会领同样的工钱呢？’
13 “园主对他们当中的一个人说，‘朋友，我并没有欠你呀！我们不是讲好付你一个银币吗？ 14 拿着你的工钱走吧。我给那后来的和你一样的工钱，是我愿意。 15 难道我不可随意使用自己的钱吗？因为我慷慨，你就眼红吗？’ 16 因此，为首的将要殿后，殿后的将要为首。”
耶稣第三次预言自己受难
17 在去耶路撒冷的途中，耶稣把十二个门徒带到一边，对他们说： 18 “你们要留意，我们现在前往耶路撒冷，人子将被交给祭司长和律法教师。他们要判祂死刑， 19 把祂交给外族人，受嘲弄、鞭打，被钉在十字架上。但第三天祂必复活。”
一个母亲的请求
20 当时，西庇太的妻子带着两个儿子上前，跪在耶稣面前，有事要求祂。
21 耶稣问她：“你要什么呢？”
她说：“在你的国度，请让我这两个儿子一个坐在你右边，一个坐在你左边。”
22 耶稣回答说：“你们不知道自己在求什么。我要喝的那一杯，你们能喝吗？”
他们说：“我们能。”
23 耶稣对他们说：“我要喝的那一杯，你们也要喝。不过谁坐在我的左右不是我来定，而是我父为谁预备的，就让谁坐。”
24 其他十个门徒听见这事，都对他们兄弟二人十分恼火。 25 于是，耶稣把他们叫来，说：“外族人有君王统治他们，有大臣管理他们。但你们不可这样。 26 你们中间，谁要当首领，谁就要做大家的仆人； 27 谁要居首位，谁就要做大家的奴仆。 28 正如人子不是来受人服侍，而是来服侍人，并且牺牲性命，作许多人的赎价。”
治好两个瞎子
29 耶稣和祂的门徒离开耶利哥时，有一大群人跟着祂。 30 有两个瞎子正坐在路旁，听说耶稣经过，就高声喊叫：“主啊，大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！” 31 众人责备他们，叫他们不要出声，他们却喊得更大声了：“主啊，大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！”
32 耶稣停下脚步，叫了他们来，问他们：“你们要我为你们做什么？” 33 他们说：“主啊，我们想能够看见。” 34 耶稣就动了慈心，摸他们的眼睛，他们立刻得见光明，并跟从了耶稣。
光荣进圣城
21 耶稣和门徒离耶路撒冷越来越近了，他们来到橄榄山旁的伯法其。 2 耶稣派两个门徒进村，并对他们说：“你们到前面的村庄去，就会看见一头母驴拴在那里，旁边还有一头驴驹。你们把它们解开，牵到我这里。 3 要是有人问起，你们就说，‘主要用它们’，那人会立刻让你们牵来。” 4 这件事是要应验先知的话：
5 “要对锡安城[b]说，‘看啊，你的君王来了！祂谦卑地骑着驴，骑着一头驴驹。’”
6 两个门徒照着耶稣的吩咐去了， 7 把母驴和驴驹带了回来。他们把自己的衣服盖在驴背上，让耶稣骑上去。 8 许多人把衣服铺在路上，也有些人砍下树枝铺在路上。 9 众人前呼后拥，欢呼着说：
“和散那[c]归于大卫的后裔！
奉主名来的当受称颂！
和散那归于至高之处的上帝！”
10 耶稣进耶路撒冷时，全城轰动，说：“这是谁？”
11 众人说：“祂是先知耶稣，来自加利利的拿撒勒。”
洁净圣殿
12 耶稣进入圣殿，赶走里面做买卖的人，又推翻兑换钱币之人的桌子和卖鸽子之人的凳子。
13 耶稣斥责他们说：“圣经上说，‘我的殿必称为祷告的殿。’你们竟把它变成了贼窝。”
14 殿中的瞎子和瘸子都来到耶稣面前，祂便医好了他们。 15 祭司长和律法教师看见祂所行的奇事，又听见小孩子在圣殿里高声喊着：“和散那归于大卫的后裔！”便十分恼怒。 16 他们责问耶稣说：“你听见这些人说的了吗？”
耶稣说：“我听见了。圣经上说，‘你使孩童和婴儿口中发出颂赞’，你们没有读过吗？” 17 然后，祂便离开他们，出城前往伯大尼，在那里住宿。
咒诅无花果树
18 清早，耶稣在回城的途中饿了。 19 祂看见路旁有一棵无花果树，便走过去，却发现除了叶子外什么也没有。
祂对那棵树说：“你将再不会结果子！”那棵树立刻枯萎了。
20 门徒见了就惊奇地问：“这棵树怎么一下子枯萎了？”
21 耶稣回答说：“我实在告诉你们，如果你们有信心、不怀疑，不但能使无花果树枯萎，就算对这座山说，‘从这里挪开，投进大海里！’也照样可以实现。 22 所以，你们祷告时无论求什么，只要有信心，就必定得到。”
质问耶稣的权柄
23 耶稣进了圣殿，正在教导人的时候，祭司长和民间的长老来质问祂：“你凭什么权柄做这些事？谁授权给你了？”
24 耶稣说：“我也要问你们一个问题，你们回答了，我就告诉你们我凭什么权柄做这些事。 25 约翰的洗礼是从哪里来的？从天上来的，还是从人来的？”
他们便彼此议论说：“如果我们说‘是从天上来的’，祂一定会问我们，‘那你们为什么不信他？’ 26 但如果我们说‘是从人来的’，又怕触怒百姓，因为他们相信约翰是个先知。” 27 于是，他们回答耶稣说：“我们不知道。”
耶稣说：“我也不告诉你们我凭什么权柄做这些事。”
两个儿子的比喻
28 耶稣又说：“你们怎样看这件事？某人有两个儿子。他对大儿子说，‘孩子，你今天到葡萄园工作吧！’
29 “大儿子回答说，‘我不去！’但后来他改变了主意，就去了。
30 “那父亲又对小儿子说，‘你今天到葡萄园工作吧！’小儿子回答说，‘好的，父亲。’他答应了，却没有去。
31 “你们认为这两个儿子，到底哪一个服从父亲呢？”
他们回答道：“大儿子。”
耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，税吏和娼妓要比你们先进上帝的国。 32 因为约翰来指示你们当行的正路，你们不信他，但税吏和娼妓信了。你们亲眼看见了这些事，竟然还是执迷不悟，不肯信他。
恶毒的佃户
33 “你们再听一个比喻。有个园主栽种了一个葡萄园，在园子的四周建造围墙，又在园中挖了一个榨酒池，建了一座瞭望台，然后把葡萄园租给佃户，就出远门了。 34 到了收获的季节，园主派奴仆到佃户那里收果子。 35 但那些佃户却抓住他的奴仆，打伤一个，杀死一个，又用石头打死了一个。 36 于是，园主又派更多的奴仆去，结果也遭到同样的对待。 37 最后，园主派了自己的儿子去，心想，‘他们肯定会尊重我的儿子。’ 38 然而，那些佃户看见园主的儿子来了，就商量说，‘这是园主的继承人。来吧！我们杀掉他，占了他的产业！’ 39 于是，他们抓住他，把他推出园外杀了。 40 那么，当园主回来的时候，他会怎样处置那些佃户呢？”
41 他们说：“他会毫不留情地除掉那些恶人，然后把葡萄园租给其他按时交果子的佃户。”
42 耶稣说：
“‘工匠丢弃的石头已成了房角石。
这是主的作为，在我们看来奇妙莫测。’
你们难道没有读过这段经文吗？ 43 所以，我告诉你们，将把上帝的国从你们那里夺去，赐给结果子的人。 44 凡跌在这石头上的人，一定粉身碎骨；这石头落在谁身上，就会把谁砸烂。”
45 祭司长和法利赛人听了耶稣的比喻，明白是针对他们讲的。 46 他们试图逮捕耶稣，但又害怕百姓，因为百姓都认为耶稣是先知。
王宴客的比喻
22 耶稣又用比喻对他们说： 2 “天国就像一个王为儿子筹备婚宴。 3 他派奴仆去请受邀的客人，可是客人都不肯赴宴。 4 王再派其他奴仆去，说，‘去告诉被邀请的人，我的宴席已经备好，公牛和肥畜都宰了，一切都预备妥当，来赴婚宴吧！’ 5 那些人却毫不理会地走了，一个去种田，一个去做买卖， 6 其余的竟然抓住王的奴仆，把他们羞辱一番后杀了。 7 王大怒，派军队去剿灭凶手，烧毁他们的城。
8 “然后，他对奴仆说，‘婚宴已预备好了，只是被邀请的人不配。 9 所以你们到街头巷尾，把所有见到的人都请来。’ 10 奴仆到街上把遇到的人都请了来，好人坏人都有，大厅里满了客人。
11 “王出来会见在座的客人，发现有一个人没有穿礼服， 12 就问他，‘朋友，你来这里怎么不穿婚宴的礼服呢？’那人无言以对。 13 王便吩咐侍从，‘把他手脚绑起来丢到外面的黑暗里，让他在那里哀哭切齿。’”
14 耶稣又说：“被邀请的人多，选上的人少。”
以纳税问题刁难耶稣
15 那时，法利赛人出去策划怎样从耶稣的话里找把柄陷害祂。 16 他们派了自己的门徒跟希律党人一同去问耶稣：“老师，我们知道你诚实无伪，按真理传上帝的道，你不徇情面，不以貌取人。 17 那么请告诉我们，纳税给凯撒对不对呢？”
18 耶稣看出了他们的恶意，就说：“你们这些伪君子，为什么试探我呢？ 19 拿一个纳税用的钱币来给我看。”他们就拿给祂一个银币。
20 耶稣问他们：“上面刻的是谁的像和名号？”
21 他们说：“凯撒的。”
耶稣说：“那么，属于凯撒的东西应该给凯撒，属于上帝的东西应该给上帝。” 22 他们听了很惊奇，只好离开祂走了。
论复活
23 同一天，不相信死人会复活的撒都该人也来问耶稣， 24 说：“老师，摩西说，‘如果一个人死了，没有儿女，只留下妻子，他的兄弟就当娶嫂嫂，替哥哥传宗接代。’ 25 从前，我们这里有弟兄七人，老大结了婚，没有孩子就死了，把妻子留给了弟弟。 26 二弟、三弟一直到七弟都相继娶了嫂嫂，都没留下孩子。 27 最后，那女人也死了。 28 那么，到复活的时候，她将是谁的妻子呢？因为他们都娶过她。”
29 耶稣说：“你们弄错了。你们不明白圣经，也不知道上帝的能力。 30 因为到复活的时候，人们将不娶也不嫁，就像天上的天使一样。
31 “关于死人复活的事，难道你们没有读过上帝对你们说过的话吗？ 32 祂说，‘我是亚伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。’上帝不是死人的上帝，而是活人的上帝。” 33 众人听到祂的教导都很惊奇。
最大的诫命
34 法利赛人听见耶稣使撒都该人无言以对，就聚集在一起。 35 其中有位律法专家试探耶稣说： 36 “老师，请问律法中哪一条诫命最重要呢？”
37 耶稣回答说：“‘你要全心、全情、全意爱主——你的上帝’， 38 这是第一条也是最重要的诫命。 39 第二条也相似，就是‘要爱邻如己’。 40 律法和先知的全部教导都以这两条诫命为基础。”
基督的身份
41 耶稣趁着法利赛人聚在那里，就问他们： 42 “你们对基督有何看法？祂是谁的后裔？”他们答道：“大卫的后裔。”
43 耶稣说：“那么，为什么大卫受圣灵感动，称祂为主呢？大卫曾说，
44 “‘主对我主说，
你坐在我的右边，
等我使你的仇敌伏在你脚下。’
45 既然大卫称基督为主，基督又怎么会是大卫的后裔呢？” 46 没人能回答耶稣的问题。从此再没有人敢用问题来刁难耶稣了。
谴责律法教师和法利赛人
23 随后，耶稣对百姓和门徒说： 2 “律法教师和法利赛人坐在摩西的位子上讲授律法。 3 你们要谨遵他们的教导，但不要效法他们的行为，因为他们言行不一。 4 他们捆好重担放在别人肩上，而自己连一根指头也不肯动！
5 “他们的所作所为是为了给人看的，他们把额上佩戴的经文盒子加宽了，又将衣裳的穗边加长了。 6 他们喜欢宴席中的上座和会堂里的首位。 7 他们喜欢别人在街市上问候他们，称呼他们为老师[d]。 8 但你们不要让别人称呼你们为老师，因为你们只有一位老师，你们彼此都是弟兄。 9 不要称呼地上的人为父亲，因为你们只有一位父亲，祂在天上。 10 不要让人称你们为导师，因为你们只有一位导师——基督。 11 你们当中谁最伟大，谁就要做你们的仆人。 12 自高的人必遭贬抑，谦卑的人必得尊荣。
13 “虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！因为你们当着人们的面关闭天国之门，自己不进去，也不让别人进去。
14 “虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！因为你们侵吞寡妇的财产，还假意做冗长的祷告。因此，你们会受到更严厉的刑罚。[e]
15 “虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！因为你们走遍海洋和陆地去引人入教，等人入了教，却使他沦为地狱之子，比你们还坏一倍。
16 “瞎眼的向导啊，你们有祸了！你们说，‘指着圣殿发誓，不算数；但是指着圣殿里的金子发誓，就要遵守誓言。’ 17 无知的瞎子啊！金子重要呢？还是使金子神圣的圣殿重要呢？ 18 你们又说，‘指着祭坛发誓不算数，但是指着坛上的供物发誓，就要遵守誓言。’ 19 瞎眼的人啊！供物重要呢？还是使供物神圣的祭坛重要呢？ 20 其实指着祭坛发誓，就是指着祭坛和坛上的一切东西发誓。 21 指着圣殿发誓，就是指着圣殿和住在里面的上帝发誓。 22 指着天发誓，就是指着上帝的宝座和坐在宝座上的那位发誓。
23 “虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！你们把薄荷、茴香、芹菜献上十分之一，却忽略了律法中更重要的事——公正、怜悯、信实。后者是你们本该做的，前者也不可忽略。 24 瞎眼的向导啊！你们滤出蚊虫，却吞下骆驼。
25 “虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！你们洗净杯盘的外面，里面却盛满了贪婪和放纵。 26 瞎眼的法利赛人啊！要先洗净杯盘的里面，好让外面也干净。[f]
27 “虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！你们好像粉饰的坟墓，外表好看，里面却装满了死人的骨头和各样污秽之物。 28 你们虚有公义的外表，内心却充满了各种的虚伪和罪恶。
29 “虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！你们为先知建墓，为义人修碑，并且说， 30 ‘如果我们活在我们祖先的时代，绝不会和他们一起去杀害先知。’ 31 这样，你们自己证明自己是杀害先知之人的后代。 32 去填满你们祖先的罪恶吧！ 33 你们这些蛇，这些毒蛇的后代啊，你们怎能逃脱地狱的刑罚呢？
34 “看啊，我派先知、智者和律法教师到你们当中，有的会遭到你们的杀害，被你们钉在十字架上；有的会在会堂里被你们鞭打，被你们从这城追到那城。 35 因此，所有义人在地上所流的血，就是从义人亚伯的血，直到你们在圣所和祭坛之间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血，都要归到你们身上。 36 我实在告诉你们，这一切的罪责都要归到这个世代。
为耶路撒冷哀叹
37 “耶路撒冷啊！耶路撒冷啊！你常杀害先知，又用石头打死派到你那里的使者。我多次想要招聚你的儿女，像母鸡将小鸡聚集在翅膀底下，可是你们却不肯。 38 看啊！你们的家园将一片荒凉。 39 我告诉你们，从现在起，直到你们说‘奉主名来的当受称颂’那天之前，你们再也见不到我了。”
预言圣殿被毁
24 耶稣离开圣殿时，门徒上前把宏伟的圣殿指给祂看。 2 耶稣对他们说：“你们看见这殿宇了吗？我实在告诉你们，将来它要被完全拆毁，在这里找不到两块叠在一起的石头。”
世界末日的预兆
3 耶稣正坐在橄榄山上，门徒私下来问祂：“请告诉我们，这事什么时候会发生？你再来和世界末日的时候会有什么预兆？”
4 耶稣回答说：“你们要小心，免得被人迷惑。 5 因为将来会有许多人冒我的名而来，说，‘我是基督’欺骗许多人。 6 你们听见战争爆发、战讯频传时，不要惊慌，因为这些事必然发生，只是末日还没有到。 7 民族将与民族互斗，国家将与国家相争，各处将有饥荒和地震。 8 这些只是灾难[g]的开始。
9 “那时，你们将遭人迫害、杀害，并因我的名而被万民憎恨。 10 那时，许多人会放弃信仰，互相出卖，彼此憎恨。 11 许多假先知也会出现，迷惑许多人。 12 由于罪恶泛滥，许多人的爱逐渐冷淡。 13 但坚忍到底的必定得救。 14 这天国的福音将传遍天下，让万民都听见，然后末日才会来临。
15 “当你们看见但以理先知所说的‘那带来毁灭的可憎之物’站立在圣地的时候（读者须会意）， 16 住在犹太地区的人要赶快逃到山上去， 17 在屋顶上的人不要下来进屋收拾行李， 18 在田间工作的人也不要回家取外衣。 19 那时，孕妇和哺育婴儿的母亲们可就遭殃了！ 20 你们要祈求上帝，不要让你们在冬天或安息日逃难。 21 因为那时世上将有空前绝后的大灾难。 22 如果不缩短灾期，恐怕没有人能活命。但为了选民的缘故，灾期必被缩短。
23 “那时，如果有人对你们说，‘看啊！基督在这里’，或说，‘基督在那里’，你们不要相信。 24 因为假基督和假先知将出现，行很大的神迹奇事来迷惑人，如果可能，甚至要迷惑上帝拣选的子民。 25 你们要记住，我已经预先告诉你们了。
26 “因此，如果有人对你们说，‘看啊！基督在旷野’，你们不要出去；或者说，‘看啊！基督在屋里’，你们也不要相信。 27 人子降临时的情形就像闪电从东方发出一直照到西方。 28 尸体在哪里，秃鹰就会聚集在哪里。
29 “当灾难的日子一过，
“‘太阳变黑，
月亮无光，
众星陨落，
天体震动。’
30 “那时，天上会出现人子降临的预兆，地上的万族都要哀哭，他们将看见人子带着能力和极大的荣耀驾着天上的云降临。 31 在响亮的号声中，祂将差遣天使从四面八方、天涯海角招聚祂拣选的人。
无花果树的比喻
32 “你们可以从无花果树学个道理。当无花果树发芽长叶的时候，你们就知道夏天快来了。 33 同样，当你们看见这一切事发生时，就知道人子快来了，就在门口。 34 我实在告诉你们，这个世代还没有过去，这一切都要发生。 35 天地都要过去，但我的话永远长存。
警醒准备
36 “但没有人知道那日子和时辰何时来到，连天上的天使也不知道，人子[h]也不知道，只有天父知道。 37 人子降临时的情形就像挪亚的时代。 38 洪水来临之前，人们吃吃喝喝，男婚女嫁，一直到挪亚进方舟那天； 39 他们懵然不知，直到洪水来把他们全冲走了。人子降临时的情形也是这样。 40 那时，两个人在田里，一个将被接去，一个将被撇下； 41 两个妇人推磨，一个将被接去，一个将被撇下。 42 所以，你们要警醒，因为你们不知道你们的主会在哪一天来。 43 你们都知道，如果一家的主人知道贼会在半夜几点来，就必警醒，不让贼入屋偷窃。 44 同样，你们也要做好准备，因为在你们意想不到的时候，人子就来了。
两种奴仆
45 “谁是那个受主人委托管理家中大小仆役、按时分粮食给他们、又忠心又精明的奴仆呢？ 46 主人回家时，看见他尽忠职守，他就有福了。 47 我实在告诉你们，主人一定会把所有产业都交给他管理。 48 但如果奴仆邪恶，以为主人不会那么快回来， 49 就殴打同伴，跟醉汉一起吃喝玩乐， 50 主人会在他想不到的日子、不知道的时辰回来， 51 严厉地惩罚[i]他，判他和伪君子同样的罪。他必在那里哀哭切齿。
十个伴娘的比喻
25 “那时，天国就像十个伴娘提着灯去迎接新郎， 2 其中五个是糊涂的，五个是聪明的。 3 五个糊涂的只顾拿着灯，却不预备油； 4 那些聪明的不但拿着灯，还用器皿预备了足够的油。

3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife(D) for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a](E) 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]?(F) 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”(G)
8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”(H)
10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”
11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.(I) 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
The Little Children and Jesus(J)
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them(K) and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs(L) to such as these.”(M) 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
The Rich and the Kingdom of God(N)
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life(O)?”(P)
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”(Q)
18 “Which ones?” he inquired.

22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich(X) to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(Y)
27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you!(Z) What then will there be for us?”
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne,(AA) you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.(AB) 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.(AC) 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.(AD)
The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like(AE) a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.(AF) 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[f] for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So they went.
“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
7 “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.
“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’
8 “When evening came,(AG) the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble(AH) against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat(AI) of the day.’
13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend.(AJ) Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’(AK)
16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”(AL)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(AM)
17 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, 18 “We are going up to Jerusalem,(AN) and the Son of Man(AO) will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law.(AP) They will condemn him to death 19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged(AQ) and crucified.(AR) On the third day(AS) he will be raised to life!”(AT)
A Mother’s Request(AU)
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons(AV) came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down,(AW) asked a favor of him.
21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”(AX)
22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup(AY) I am going to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup,(AZ) but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant(BA) with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(BB) 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man(BC) did not come to be served, but to serve,(BD) and to give his life as a ransom(BE) for many.”
Two Blind Men Receive Sight(BF)
29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David,(BG) have mercy on us!”
31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”
34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.
Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King(BH)(BI)
21 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives,(BJ) Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
4 This took place to fulfill(BK) what was spoken through the prophet:
5 “Say to Daughter Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”[g](BL)
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. 8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks(BM) on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet(BQ) from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Jesus at the Temple(BR)
12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying(BS) and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers(BT) and the benches of those selling doves.(BU) 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’[k](BV) but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’[l]”(BW)
14 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.(BX) 15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,”(BY) they were indignant.(BZ)
16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,
17 And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany,(CB) where he spent the night.
Jesus Curses a Fig Tree(CC)
18 Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.(CD)
20 When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt,(CE) not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for(CF) in prayer.”
The Authority of Jesus Questioned(CG)
23 Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority(CH) are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?”
24 Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 25 John’s baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or of human origin?”
They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ 26 But if we say, ‘Of human origin’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.”(CI)
27 So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
The Parable of the Two Sons
28 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’(CJ)
29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.
31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?”
“The first,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors(CK) and the prostitutes(CL) are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness,(CM) and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors(CN) and the prostitutes(CO) did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent(CP) and believe him.
The Parable of the Tenants(CQ)
33 “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted(CR) a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower.(CS) Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.(CT) 34 When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants(CU) to the tenants to collect his fruit.
35 “The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.(CV) 36 Then he sent other servants(CW) to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. 37 Last of all, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.
38 “But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir.(CX) Come, let’s kill him(CY) and take his inheritance.’(CZ) 39 So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
40 “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”
41 “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,”(DA) they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants,(DB) who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’[n]?(DC)
43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you(DD) and given to a people who will produce its fruit. 44 Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”[o](DE)
45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them. 46 They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.(DF)
The Parable of the Wedding Banquet(DG)
22 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2 “The kingdom of heaven is like(DH) a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his servants(DI) to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
4 “Then he sent some more servants(DJ) and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’
5 “But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6 The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers(DK) and burned their city.
8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners(DL) and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good,(DM) and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend(DN)?’ The man was speechless.
13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’(DO)
14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”(DP)
Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar(DQ)
15 Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians.(DR) “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax[p](DS) to Caesar or not?”
18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
21 “Caesar’s,” they replied.
Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,(DT) and to God what is God’s.”
22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.(DU)
Marriage at the Resurrection(DV)
23 That same day the Sadducees,(DW) who say there is no resurrection,(DX) came to him with a question. 24 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for him.(DY) 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?”
29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures(DZ) or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage;(EA) they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[q]?(EB) He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
33 When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.(EC)
The Greatest Commandment(ED)
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees,(EE) the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law,(EF) tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[r](EG) 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[s](EH) 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”(EI)
Whose Son Is the Messiah?(EJ)
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”
“The son of David,”(EK) they replied.
43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’? For he says,
44 “‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your feet.”’[t](EL)
45 If then David calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” 46 No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions.(EM)
A Warning Against Hypocrisy(EN)(EO)
23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law(EP) and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.(EQ)
5 “Everything they do is done for people to see:(ER) They make their phylacteries[u](ES) wide and the tassels on their garments(ET) long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;(EU) 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.(EV)
8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father,(EW) and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant.(EX) 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.(EY)
Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees
13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!(EZ) You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.(FA) [14] [v]
15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert,(FB) and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell(FC) as you are.
16 “Woe to you, blind guides!(FD) You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’(FE) 17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?(FF) 18 You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ 19 You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred?(FG) 20 Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells(FH) in it. 22 And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.(FI)
23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth(FJ) of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness.(FK) You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24 You blind guides!(FL) You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.
25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish,(FM) but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.(FN) 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs,(FO) which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
29 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets(FP) and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.(FQ) 32 Go ahead, then, and complete(FR) what your ancestors started!(FS)
33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers!(FT) How will you escape being condemned to hell?(FU) 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify;(FV) others you will flog in your synagogues(FW) and pursue from town to town.(FX) 35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel(FY) to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah,(FZ) whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.(GA) 36 Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.(GB)
37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you,(GC) how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,(GD) and you were not willing. 38 Look, your house is left to you desolate.(GE) 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[w]”(GF)
The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times(GG)
24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another;(GH) every one will be thrown down.”
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives,(GI) the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming(GJ) and of the end of the age?”(GK)
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.(GL) 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.(GM) 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.(GN) There will be famines(GO) and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted(GP) and put to death,(GQ) and you will be hated by all nations because of me.(GR) 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets(GS) will appear and deceive many people.(GT) 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(GU) 14 And this gospel of the kingdom(GV) will be preached in the whole world(GW) as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place(GX) ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[x](GY) spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop(GZ) go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!(HA) 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.(HB)
22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect(HC) those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.(HD) 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders(HE) to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning(HF) that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming(HG) of the Son of Man.(HH) 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.(HI)
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[y](HJ)
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[z] will mourn(HK) when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,(HL) with power and great glory.[aa] 31 And he will send his angels(HM) with a loud trumpet call,(HN) and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[ab] is near, right at the door.(HO) 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.(HP) 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.(HQ)
The Day and Hour Unknown(HR)(HS)
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[ac] but only the Father.(HT) 37 As it was in the days of Noah,(HU) so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,(HV) up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.(HW) 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.(HX) 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.(HY)
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.(HZ) 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming,(IA) he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready,(IB) because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant,(IC) whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.(ID) 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.(IE) 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.(IF) 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.(IG)
The Parable of the Ten Virgins
25 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like(IH) ten virgins who took their lamps(II) and went out to meet the bridegroom.(IJ) 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise.(IK) 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.

論休妻
19 耶穌說完這番話，就離開加利利來到約旦河對岸的猶太地區。 2 有一大群人跟著祂，祂就在那裡醫好了他們的病。
3 有幾個法利賽人到耶穌那裡想試探祂，便問祂：「丈夫可以用任何理由休妻嗎？」
4 耶穌回答說：「你們沒有讀過嗎？太初，造物主造了男人和女人，並且說， 5 『因此，人要離開父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。』 6 這樣，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體了。因此，上帝配合的，人不可分開。」
7 他們追問：「那麼，為什麼摩西說，只要給妻子休書，就可以休她呢？」
8 耶穌說：「因為摩西知道你們鐵石心腸，所以才准你們休妻。但起初並不是這樣。 9 我告訴你們，除非是妻子不貞，否則，任何人休妻另娶，就是犯通姦罪[a]。」
10 門徒對耶穌說：「如果夫妻關係是這樣，還不如不結婚。」
11 耶穌說：「這話不是每個人都能接受的，只有那些得到這種恩賜的人才能接受。 12 人不結婚的原因很多，有些是因為先天的缺陷，有些是被人閹了，也有些是為了天國而自己放棄結婚的權利。誰能接受，就讓他接受吧。」
耶穌為小孩子祝福
13 有人帶著小孩子來見耶穌，請求耶穌為他們按手禱告，卻受到門徒的責備。
14 耶穌說：「讓小孩子到我這裡來，不要阻止他們，因為天國屬於這樣的人。」 15 於是祂為他們按手禱告，然後才離開那裡。
有錢的青年
16 有一個人來請教耶穌：「老師，我該做什麼善事才能獲得永生呢？」
17 耶穌說：「你為什麼問我做什麼善事？只有上帝是善的，你要得永生，就必須遵守祂的誡命。」
18 那人問：「什麼誡命呢？」
耶穌答道：「不可殺人，不可通姦，不可偷盜，不可作偽證， 19 要孝敬父母，並且愛鄰如己。」
20 那青年說：「這些我早已遵守了，還缺什麼呢？」
21 耶穌告訴他：「如果你想做到純全，就去變賣所有的產業，送給窮人，你就必有財寶存在天上，然後你來跟從我。」 22 那青年聽後，便憂傷地走了，因為他有許多產業。
23 事後，耶穌對門徒說：「我實在告訴你們，有錢人進天國很困難。 24 我再告訴你們，駱駝穿過針眼比有錢人進上帝的國還容易呢！」
25 門徒聽了，驚奇地問：「這樣，誰能得救呢？」
26 耶穌看著他們說：「對人而言，這不可能；但對上帝而言，凡事都可能。」
27 彼得問道：「你看，我們已經撇下一切來跟從你了，將來會有什麼獎賞呢？」
28 耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，到萬物更新、人子坐在祂榮耀的寶座上時，你們這些跟從我的人也要坐在十二個寶座上，審判以色列的十二個支派。 29 無論誰為我的名而撇下房屋、弟兄、姊妹、父母、兒女或田地，都要得到百倍的賞賜，而且承受永生。 30 然而，許多為首的將要殿後，殿後的將要為首。」
葡萄園工人的比喻
20 耶穌接著說：「因為天國就像一個園主清早去外面請工人到他的葡萄園做工。 2 他跟工人講好一天的工錢是一個銀幣，然後派他們去葡萄園。
3 「大約上午九點鐘，園主出去看見一些人站在街市上無所事事， 4 就對他們說，『你們到我的葡萄園來工作吧，我會給你們合理的工錢。』
5 「他們便去了。正午和下午三點鐘，他又出去繼續請人到葡萄園做工。 6 到了下午五點鐘的時候，他再次出去，看見還有人閒站在那裡，就問他們，『為什麼你們整天站在這裡無所事事呢？』 7 他們回答說，『因為沒有人僱用我們。』園主說，『你們也到我的葡萄園來吧！』
8 「到了傍晚，園主對工頭說，『叫工人來領工錢吧，最晚來的先領，最先來的後領。』
9 「下午五點來的工人每人得了一個銀幣。 10 最早來的工人來領的時候，以為必定可以多得一點工錢，誰知也各得一個銀幣。
11 「他們拿著工錢滿腹牢騷地對園主說， 12 『那些最晚來的人只工作了一小時，而我們在烈日之下辛苦了一整天，怎麼會領同樣的工錢呢？』
13 「園主對他們當中的一個人說，『朋友，我並沒有欠你呀！我們不是講好付你一個銀幣嗎？ 14 拿著你的工錢走吧。我給那後來的和你一樣的工錢，是我願意。 15 難道我不可隨意使用自己的錢嗎？因為我慷慨，你就眼紅嗎？』 16 因此，為首的將要殿後，殿後的將要為首。」
耶穌第三次預言自己受難
17 在去耶路撒冷的途中，耶穌把十二個門徒帶到一邊，對他們說： 18 「你們要留意，我們現在前往耶路撒冷，人子將被交給祭司長和律法教師。他們要判祂死刑， 19 把祂交給外族人，受嘲弄、鞭打，被釘在十字架上。但第三天祂必復活。」
一個母親的請求
20 當時，西庇太的妻子帶著兩個兒子上前，跪在耶穌面前，有事要求祂。
21 耶穌問她：「你要什麼呢？」
她說：「在你的國度，請讓我這兩個兒子一個坐在你右邊，一個坐在你左邊。」
22 耶穌回答說：「你們不知道自己在求什麼。我要喝的那一杯，你們能喝嗎？」
他們說：「我們能。」
23 耶穌對他們說：「我要喝的那一杯，你們也要喝。不過誰坐在我的左右不是我來定，而是我父為誰預備的，就讓誰坐。」
24 其他十個門徒聽見這事，都對他們兄弟二人十分惱火。 25 於是，耶穌把他們叫來，說：「外族人有君王統治他們，有大臣管理他們。但你們不可這樣。 26 你們中間，誰要當首領，誰就要做大家的僕人； 27 誰要居首位，誰就要做大家的奴僕。 28 正如人子不是來受人服侍，而是來服侍人，並且犧牲性命，作許多人的贖價。」
治好兩個瞎子
29 耶穌和祂的門徒離開耶利哥時，有一大群人跟著祂。 30 有兩個瞎子正坐在路旁，聽說耶穌經過，就高聲喊叫：「主啊，大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」 31 眾人責備他們，叫他們不要出聲，他們卻喊得更大聲了：「主啊，大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」
32 耶穌停下腳步，叫了他們來，問他們：「你們要我為你們做什麼？」 33 他們說：「主啊，我們想能夠看見。」 34 耶穌就動了慈心，摸他們的眼睛，他們立刻得見光明，並跟從了耶穌。
光榮進聖城
21 耶穌和門徒離耶路撒冷越來越近了，他們來到橄欖山旁的伯法其。 2 耶穌派兩個門徒進村，並對他們說：「你們到前面的村莊去，就會看見一頭母驢拴在那裡，旁邊還有一頭驢駒。你們把牠們解開，牽到我這裡。 3 要是有人問起，你們就說，『主要用牠們』，那人會立刻讓你們牽來。」
