神的威嚴，人的尊貴

8 耶和華我們的主啊！
你的名在全地是多麼威嚴，
你把你的榮美彰顯在天上。
2 因你仇敵的緣故，
你從小孩和嬰兒的口中，
得著了讚美（“得著了讚美”或譯：“建立了能力”），
使仇敵和報仇的無話可說。
3 我觀看你手所造的天，
和你所安放的月亮和星星。
4 啊！人算甚麼，你竟記念他？
世人算甚麼，你竟眷顧他？
5 你使他比天使（“天使”或譯：“ 神”）低微一點，
卻賜給他榮耀尊貴作冠冕。
6 你叫他管理你手所造的，
把萬物都放在他的腳下，
7 就是所有的牛羊、

A Teremtő és az ember

2 Ó, Urunk, mi Urunk! Mily felséges a te neved az egész földön, az égen is megmutattad fenségedet!
3 Gyermekek és csecsemők szája által is építed hatalmadat ellenfeleiddel szemben, hogy elnémítsd az ellenséget és a bosszúállót.
4 Ha látom az eget, kezed alkotását, a holdat és a csillagokat, amelyeket ráhelyeztél,
5 micsoda a halandó - mondom -, hogy törődsz vele, és az emberfia, hogy gondod van rá?
6 Kevéssel tetted őt kisebbé Istennél, dicsőséggel és méltósággal koronáztad meg.
7 Úrrá tetted kezed alkotásain, mindent a lába alá vetettél:
8 a juhokat és marhákat mind, még a mezei vadakat is,
9 az ég madarait, a tenger halait, amelyek a tenger ösvényein járnak.

Psalm 8

8 Lord, our Lord, how majestic
is your name throughout the earth!
You made your glory higher than heaven![b]
2 From the mouths of nursing babies
you have laid a strong foundation
because of your foes,
in order to stop vengeful enemies.
3 When I look up at your skies,
at what your fingers made—
the moon and the stars
that you set firmly in place—
4 what are human beings
that you think about them;
what are human beings
that you pay attention to them?
5 You’ve made them only slightly less than divine,
crowning them with glory and grandeur.
6 You’ve let them rule over your handiwork,
putting everything under their feet—
7 all sheep and all cattle,
the wild animals too,
8 the birds in the sky,
the fish of the ocean,
everything that travels the pathways of the sea.
9 Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name throughout the earth!
