诗篇 12

祈求上帝帮助

大卫的诗，交给乐长。

12 耶和华啊，求你救我们！
因为世上的敬虔人不见了，
忠信的人在人间消失了。
²人人谎话连篇，
花言巧语，口是心非。
³愿你铲除一切花言巧语和狂妄自夸的人。
⁴他们说：“我们必靠舌头制胜，
嘴唇是我们自己的，
谁管得着我们？”
⁵耶和华说：“我要保护受欺压的困苦人和哀叹的贫穷人，
使他们如愿以偿。”
⁶耶和华的应许纯全，
就像在炉中炼过七次的银子。
⁷耶和华啊，你必保护我们，
永远不容恶人侵害我们。
⁸众人若抑善扬恶，
恶人必横行无忌。

Psalm 12

¹Een lied van David, op de wijs van: 'De achtste'. Voor de leider van het koor.

²Help ons, Heer!
Want er zijn geen goede mensen meer.
Er zijn nog maar heel weinig mensen trouw aan U.

³De mensen bedriegen elkaar.
Ze zeggen het één, maar bedoelen iets anders.
Ze spreken gladde woorden.
⁴Heer, leg die bedriegers het zwijgen op!
Ook alle mensen die trots denken dat ze U niet nodig hebben.
⁵Maak een einde aan mensen die zeggen:
"Met onze tong zijn we machtig. Ónze lippen geven de bevelen.
Wie doet ons wat?"

⁶De Heer zegt: "De mensen kreunen,
want ze worden verdrukt.
Daarom kom Ik hen helpen.
Ik breng hen in veiligheid."
⁷Wat de Heer zegt, is altijd waar.
Zijn woorden zijn zo zuiver als zilver
dat in een smelt-oven zeven keer is gezuiverd.

⁸Heer, U zal ons altijd beschermen
tegen slechte mensen.
⁹In het hele land worden de mensen slecht,
als ze geregeerd worden door mensen die zich niets van U aantrekken.

To the director: With the sheminith. A song of David.

12 Save me, Lord!
    We can no longer trust anyone!
    All the good, loyal people are gone.
²People lie to their neighbors.
    They say whatever they think people want to hear.
³The Lord should cut off their lying lips
    and cut out their bragging tongues.
⁴Those people think they can win any argument.
They say, “We are so good with words,
    no one will be our master.”

⁵They took advantage of the poor
    and stole what little they had.
But the Lord knows what they did, and he says,
    “I will rescue those who are poor and helpless,
    and I will punish those who hurt them.”^[a]

⁶The Lord’s words are true and pure,
like silver purified by fire,
like silver melted seven times to make it perfectly pure.

⁷Lord, take care of the helpless.
Protect them forever from the wicked people in this world.
⁸The wicked are all around us,
and everyone thinks evil is something to be praised!
