耶穌與尼哥迪慕論重生
3 有一個法利賽人，名叫尼哥迪慕，是猶太人的官。 2 這人夜裡來見耶穌，說：「拉比，我們知道你是由神那裡來做師傅的，因為你所行的神蹟，若沒有神同在，無人能行。」 3 耶穌回答說：「我實實在在地告訴你：人若不重生，就不能見神的國。」 4 尼哥迪慕說：「人已經老了，如何能重生呢？豈能再進母腹生出來嗎？」 5 耶穌說：「我實實在在地告訴你：人若不是從水和聖靈生的，就不能進神的國。 6 從肉身生的就是肉身，從靈生的就是靈。 7 我說你們必須重生，你不要以為稀奇。 8 風隨著意思吹，你聽見風的響聲，卻不曉得從哪裡來，往哪裡去。凡從聖靈生的，也是如此。」 9 尼哥迪慕問他說：「怎能有這事呢？」 10 耶穌回答說：「你是以色列人的先生，還不明白這事嗎？ 11 我實實在在地告訴你：我們所說的是我們知道的，我們所見證的是我們見過的，你們卻不領受我們的見證。 12 我對你們說地上的事，你們尚且不信，若說天上的事，如何能信呢？ 13 除了從天降下仍舊在天的人子，沒有人升過天。 14 摩西在曠野怎樣舉蛇，人子也必照樣被舉起來， 15 叫一切信他的都得永生[a]。
神愛世人
16 「神愛世人，甚至將他的獨生子賜給他們，叫一切信他的不致滅亡，反得永生。 17 因為神差他的兒子降世，不是要定世人的罪[b]，乃是要叫世人因他得救。 18 信他的人不被定罪，不信的人罪已經定了，因為他不信神獨生子的名。
作惡的恨光
19 「光來到世間，世人因自己的行為是惡的，不愛光倒愛黑暗，定他們的罪就是在此。 20 凡作惡的便恨光，並不來就光，恐怕他的行為受責備； 21 但行真理的必來就光，要顯明他所行的是靠神而行。」
耶穌和約翰施洗
22 這事以後，耶穌和門徒到了猶太地，在那裡居住，施洗。 23 約翰在靠近撒冷的哀嫩也施洗，因為那裡水多，眾人都去受洗。 24 那時約翰還沒有下在監裡。 25 約翰的門徒和一個猶太人辯論潔淨的禮， 26 就來見約翰，說：「拉比，從前同你在約旦河外、你所見證的那位，現在施洗，眾人都往他那裡去了。」 27 約翰說：「若不是從天上賜的，人就不能得什麼。 28 我曾說我不是基督，是奉差遣在他前面的，你們自己可以給我作見證。 29 娶新婦的就是新郎，新郎的朋友站著，聽見新郎的聲音就甚喜樂。故此，我這喜樂滿足了。 30 他必興旺，我必衰微。」
信者能得永生
31 從天上來的是在萬有之上，從地上來的是屬乎地，他所說的也是屬乎地。從天上來的是在萬有之上， 32 他將所見所聞的見證出來，只是沒有人領受他的見證。 33 那領受他見證的，就印上印，證明神是真的。 34 神所差來的就說神的話，因為神賜聖靈給他是沒有限量的。 35 父愛子，已將萬有交在他手裡。 36 信子的人有永生，不信子的人得不著永生[c]，神的震怒常在他身上。

Jesús enseña a Nicodemo
3 Había un fariseo llamado Nicodemo; era un jefe importante entre los judíos.
2 Este fue una noche a visitar a Jesús y le dijo:
―Maestro, sabemos que Dios te ha enviado a enseñarnos, porque nadie puede hacer las señales milagrosas que tú haces si Dios no está con él.
3 Jesús le dijo:
―Te aseguro que si una persona no nace de nuevo no podrá ver el reino de Dios.
4 Nicodemo preguntó:
―¿Cómo puede uno nacer de nuevo cuando ya es viejo? ¿Acaso puede entrar otra vez en el vientre de su madre y nacer de nuevo?
5 Jesús respondió:
―Te aseguro que el que no nace de agua y del Espíritu, no puede entrar en el reino de Dios. 6 Los que nacen de padres humanos, son humanos; los que nacen del Espíritu, son espíritu. 7 No te sorprendas de que te dije que tienes que nacer de nuevo. 8 El viento sopla por donde quiere y oyes el ruido que produce, pero no sabes de dónde viene ni a dónde va. Eso mismo pasa con todos los que nacen del Espíritu.
9 Nicodemo preguntó:
―¿Cómo es posible que esto suceda?
10 Jesús le respondió una vez más:
―Tú eres maestro de Israel, ¿y no sabes estas cosas? 11 Te aseguro que hablamos de las cosas que sabemos y de las que nosotros mismos hemos sido testigos, pero ustedes no creen lo que les decimos. 12 Si no me creen cuando les hablo de las cosas de este mundo, ¿cómo van a creerme si les hablo de las cosas del cielo? 13 Nadie ha subido jamás al cielo excepto el que bajó del cielo, que es el Hijo del hombre.
Jesús y el amor del Padre
14 »Como Moisés levantó la serpiente en el desierto, así también tienen que levantar al Hijo del hombre, 15 para que todo el que crea en él tenga vida eterna.
16 »Dios amó tanto al mundo, que dio a su único Hijo, para que todo el que cree en él no se pierda, sino tenga vida eterna. 17 Dios no envió a su Hijo para condenar al mundo, sino para salvarlo por medio de él. 18 El que cree en el Hijo único de Dios no será condenado, pero quien no cree en él ya está condenado. 19 En esto consiste la condenación: en que la luz vino al mundo y la gente prefirió las tinieblas a la luz, pues las cosas que hacía eran malas. 20 Todo el que hace lo malo odia la luz, y no se acerca a ella por temor a que sus malas acciones se descubran. 21 En cambio, el que practica la verdad se acerca a la luz, para que se vea que obedece a Dios en lo que hace».
Testimonio de Juan el Bautista acerca de Jesús
22 Después de esto, Jesús fue con sus discípulos a la región de Judea. Allí estuvo algún tiempo con ellos bautizando.
23 Juan también bautizaba en Enón, cerca de Salín. Allí había mucha agua y la gente iba para que la bautizara.
24 Esto sucedió antes que a Juan lo encarcelaran. 25 Entonces empezaron a discutir los discípulos de Juan y un judío acerca de la ceremonia de purificación.
26 Aquéllos fueron a ver a Juan y le dijeron:
―Maestro, el que estaba contigo al otro lado del río Jordán, aquel del que tú mismo hablaste, ahora está bautizando y todos lo siguen.
27 Juan les respondió:
―Nadie puede recibir nada si Dios no se lo da. 28 Ustedes saben muy bien que yo dije: “Yo no soy el Cristo, sino que fui enviado delante de él”. 29 El que tiene a la novia es el novio. Pero el amigo del novio, que está a su lado y escucha la voz del novio, se llena de alegría al oír su voz. Así estoy yo, lleno de alegría. 30 Ahora él debe tener más importancia y yo menos.
El que viene del cielo
31 El que viene de arriba está por encima de todos; el que es de la tierra es terrenal y habla de las cosas de la tierra. El que viene del cielo está por encima de todos 32 y habla de las cosas que ha visto y oído. Sin embargo, nadie cree lo que él dice. 33 El que cree confirma que Dios dice la verdad. 34 Aquel a quien Dios ha enviado habla lo que Dios le dice, porque Dios mismo le da su Espíritu en abundancia. 35 El Padre ama al Hijo y le ha dado poder sobre todo lo que existe. 36 El que cree en el Hijo tiene vida eterna; pero el que no cree en el Hijo no sabrá lo que es esa vida, pues siempre estará bajo el castigo de Dios.

The New Birth
3 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 (A)This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for (B)no one can do these signs that You do unless (C)God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, (D)unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, (E)unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is (F)flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 (G)The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, (H)“How can these things be?”
10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 (I)Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and (J)you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 (K)No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man [b]who is in heaven. 14 (L)And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so (M)must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever (N)believes in Him should [c]not perish but (O)have eternal life. 16 (P)For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten (Q)Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 (R)For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 (S)“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, (T)that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For (U)everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been (V)done in God.”
John the Baptist Exalts Christ
22 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them (W)and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near (X)Salim, because there was much water there. (Y)And they came and were baptized. 24 For (Z)John had not yet been thrown into prison.
25 Then there arose a dispute between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about purification. 26 And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, (AA)to whom you have testified—behold, He is baptizing, and all (AB)are coming to Him!”
27 John answered and said, (AC)“A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. 28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, (AD)‘I am not the Christ,’ but, (AE)‘I have been sent before Him.’ 29 (AF)He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but (AG)the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. 30 (AH)He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 (AI)He who comes from above (AJ)is above all; (AK)he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. (AL)He who comes from heaven is above all. 32 And (AM)what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. 33 He who has received His testimony (AN)has certified that God is true. 34 (AO)For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit (AP)by measure. 35 (AQ)The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 (AR)He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the (AS)wrath of God abides on him.”
