10 耶和华对摩西说： 2 “你要用银子打造两支号，用来招聚会众和发出拔营的号令。 3 吹响两支号时，全体会众要聚集到你那里，即会幕门口。 4 如果只吹响一支号，担任首领的以色列各族长要聚集到你那里。 5 如果吹响拔营的号令，在东面扎营的就要启行； 6 第二次吹响拔营号令时，在南面扎营的就要启行。拔营号令是启行的信号。 7 但吹号招聚会众时，不要用拔营号令。 8 做祭司的亚伦子孙要负责吹号，这是世代不变的律例。 9 当你们在自己的土地上跟敌人作战时，要吹号，你们的上帝耶和华必眷顾你们，救你们脱离敌人。 10 在节期和朔日[a]这些欢乐的日子献燔祭和平安祭的时候，你们要吹号，好在你们的上帝面前蒙眷顾。我是你们的上帝耶和华。”

33 以色列人离开耶和华的山，走了三天的路程，期间耶和华的约柜一直在队伍的前头，为他们寻找安营之地。 34 他们拔营前行的时候，白天总有耶和华的云彩在他们上面。 35 每当约柜出发的时候，摩西就说：“耶和华啊，求你兴起，击溃你的敌人，使恨你的人逃窜。” 36 约柜停下来的时候，他就说：“耶和华啊，求你回到以色列的千万人中。”

10 1,2 Nu zei de Here tegen Mozes: ‘Maak twee trompetten van gedreven zilver. Die moeten worden gebruikt om het sein “verzamelen” en “opbreken” te blazen. 3 Als op twee trompetten wordt geblazen, is dat het teken dat het hele volk zich moet verzamelen bij de ingang van de tabernakel. 4 Als één trompet wordt geblazen, moeten alleen de stamhoofden zich bij u verzamelen. 5-7 Er zullen verschillende trompetsignalen nodig zijn om onderscheid te maken tussen het sein “verzamelen” en “opbreken en verder trekken”. Als het vertreksignaal wordt geblazen, moeten de stammen die aan de oostkant van de tabernakel hun kamp hebben, het eerst vertrekken. Bij het volgende signaal vertrekken de stammen aan de zuidkant. 8 Alleen de priesters mogen de trompet blazen. Dit is een vaste instelling die van generatie op generatie moet worden nageleefd. 9 Wanneer u aankomt in het beloofde land en oorlog voert tegen uw vijanden, zal de Here u horen en u te hulp komen als u in nood alarm blaast op de trompetten. 10 Gebruik de trompetten ook in tijden van blijdschap: tijdens de jaarlijkse feesten en aan het begin van elke maand om uw vreugde over de brandoffers en vredeoffers te laten blijken. 11 De wolk steeg op boven de tabernakel op de twintigste dag van de tweede maand van het tweede jaar na Israëls uittocht uit Egypte. 12 De Israëlieten verlieten de Sinaï-woestijn en volgden de wolk naar de woestijn Paran. 13 Dit was hun eerste reis sinds de Here aan Mozes de reisopdrachten had gegeven.

Zij droegen de tabernakel op hun schouders. 18 Daarachter kwam de banier van Ruben, waar Elisur, de zoon van Sedeür zijn mensen leidde. 19 De volgende stammen waren die van Simeon, onder leiding van Selumiël, de zoon van Surisaddai, 20 en die van Gad, onder leiding van Eljasaf, de zoon van Deüel. 21 Achter deze twee stammen liepen de Kehatieten, die de voorwerpen uit het Heilige droegen. Wanneer zij op de nieuwe kampplaats aankwamen, hadden de anderen de tabernakel al opgezet. 22 Achter deze Levieten kwamen de stam van Efraïm, onder leiding van Elisama, de zoon van Ammihud, 23 de stam van Manasse, onder leiding van Gamliël, de zoon van Pedasur, 24 en die van Benjamin, onder leiding van Abidan, de zoon van Gidoni. 25 De achterhoede van de stoet bestond uit de stam van Dan, onder leiding van Achiëzer, de zoon van Ammisaddai, 26 de stam van Aser, onder leiding van Pagiël, de zoon van Ochran, 27 en ten slotte de stam van Naftali, onder leiding van Achira, de zoon van Enan. 28 Dat was de volgorde waarin de stammen reisden.

Ga toch met ons mee, er zal goed voor je gezorgd worden. Want de Here heeft Israël veel goeds beloofd.’ 30 Maar zijn zwager antwoordde: ‘Nee, ik wil terug naar mijn eigen land en mijn familie.’ 31 ‘Blijf toch bij ons,’ drong Mozes aan, ‘want jij kent de weg in de woestijn en je zou ons goed kunnen helpen. 32 Als je meegaat, kun je ook genieten van al het goede dat de Here ons gaat geven.’
33 Nadat de Israëlieten bij de berg Sinaï waren opgebroken, trokken zij drie dagreizen verder. De ark ging voorop om de volgende stopplaats aan te wijzen. 34 Het was dag toen zij vertrokken en de wolk ging voor hen uit toen zij zich in beweging zetten. 35 Wanneer de ark werd opgenomen en verder gedragen, riep Mozes luid: ‘Sta op, Here, en sla uw vijanden uiteen, laten zij voor U op de vlucht slaan!’ 36 En wanneer de ark werd neergezet, zei hij: ‘Keer terug, Here, en zegen de stammen van Israël.’

The Silver Trumpets
10 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Make two trumpets. Use silver and hammer it to make the trumpets. These trumpets will be for calling the people together and for telling them when it is time to move the camp. 3 If you blow long blasts on both trumpets, all the people must meet together at the entrance of the Meeting Tent. 4 But if you blow long blasts on only one trumpet, only the leaders will come to meet with you. (These are the leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel.)
5 “Short blasts on the trumpets will be the way to tell the people to move the camp. The first time you blow a short blast on the trumpets, the tribes camping on the east side of the Meeting Tent must begin to move. 6 The second time you blow a short blast on the trumpets, the tribes camping on the south side of the Meeting Tent will begin to move. 7 But if you want to gather the people together for a special meeting, blow the trumpets in a different way—blow a long steady blast on the trumpets. 8 Only Aaron’s sons, the priests, should blow the trumpets. This is a law for you that will continue forever, for generations to come.
9 “If you are fighting an enemy in your own land, blow loudly on the trumpets before you go to fight them. The Lord your God will hear you, and he will save you from your enemies. 10 Also blow these trumpets for your special meetings, New Moon celebrations, and all your happy times together. Blow the trumpets when you give your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. This will be a special way for your God to remember you. I command you to do this; I am the Lord your God.”
The Israelites Move Their Camp
11 On the 20th day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites left Egypt, the cloud rose from above the Tent of the Agreement. 12 So the Israelites began their journey. They left the desert of Sinai and traveled until the cloud stopped in the desert of Paran. 13 This was the first time the people moved their camp. They moved it the way the Lord commanded Moses.
14 The three divisions from Judah’s camp went first. They traveled under their flag. The first group was the tribe of Judah. Nahshon son of Amminadab was the commander of that group. 15 Next came the tribe of Issachar. Nethanel son of Zuar was the commander of that group. 16 And then came the tribe of Zebulun. Eliab son of Helon was the commander of that group.
17 Then the Holy Tent was taken down. And the men from the Gershon and the Merari families carried the Holy Tent. So the people from these families were next in line.
18 Then came the three divisions from Reuben’s camp. They traveled under their flag. The first group was the tribe of Reuben. Elizur son of Shedeur was the commander of that group. 19 Next came the tribe of Simeon. Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai was the commander of that group. 20 And then came the tribe of Gad. Eliasaph son of Deuel[a] was the commander of that group. 21 Then came the Kohath family. They carried the holy things from inside the Holy Tent. These people came at this time so that the other people could set up the Holy Tent and make it ready at the new camp before these people arrived.
22 Next came the three groups from Ephraim’s camp. They traveled under their flag. The first group was the tribe of Ephraim. Elishama son of Ammihud was the commander of that group. 23 Next came the tribe of Manasseh. Gamaliel son of Pedahzur was the commander of that group. 24 Then came the tribe of Benjamin. Abidan son of Gideoni was the commander of that group.
25 The last three tribes in the line were the rear guard for all the other tribes. These were the groups from Dan’s camp. They traveled under their flag. The first group was the tribe of Dan. Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai was their commander. 26 Next came the tribe of Asher. Pagiel son of Ocran was the commander of that group. 27 Then came the tribe of Naphtali. Ahira son of Enan was the commander of that group. 28 That was the way the Israelites marched when they moved from place to place.
29 Hobab was the son of Reuel, the Midianite. (Reuel was Moses’ father-in-law.) Moses said to Hobab, “We are traveling to the land that the Lord promised to give to us. Come with us and we will be good to you. The Lord has promised good things to the Israelites.”
30 But Hobab answered, “No, I will not go with you. I will go back to my homeland and to my own people.”
31 Then Moses said, “Please don’t leave us. You know more about the desert than we do. You can be our guide. 32 If you come with us, we will share with you all the good things that the Lord gives us.”
33 So they began traveling from the mountain of the Lord. The priests took the Box of the Lord’s Agreement and walked in front of the people. They carried the Holy Box for three days, looking for a place to camp. 34 The Lord’s cloud was over them every day. And when they left their camp every morning, the cloud was there to lead them.
35 When the people lifted the Holy Box to move the camp, Moses always said,
“Get up, Lord!
May your enemies be scattered.
May your enemies run away from you.”
36 And when the Holy Box was put in its place, Moses always said,
“Come back, Lord,
to the millions of Israelites.”

10 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
6 When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.
8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.
11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.
13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
14 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.
17 And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.
18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.
19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
21 And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.

27 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.
28 Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.
29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses' father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.
30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.
31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.
32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.
33 And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days' journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them.
34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.
