更美之约的大祭司
8 我们所讲的要点是：我们有这样一位大祭司，祂现在已经坐在天上至高上帝的宝座右边， 2 并在圣所里供职。这圣所就是真正的圣幕，不是人建立的，而是主亲手建立的。 3 所有的大祭司都是为了向上帝献礼物和祭物而设立的，因此我们这位大祭司也必须有所献上。 4 祂如果是在地上，根本不会做祭司，因为地上已经有照律法向上帝献礼物的祭司了。 5 这些祭司的事奉都是仿效和反映天上的事，正如摩西建圣幕的时候，上帝指示他说：
“你务要照着在山上指示你的样式造各样的器具。”
6 但如今，基督得到了一个更超越的职任，正如祂担任了更美之约的中保，这约是根据更美的应许所立的。 7 因为如果第一个约没有缺点，就不必另立新约了。 8 然而，上帝指责祂的百姓，说：
“看啊，时候将到，
我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新约，
9 这约不同于我与他们祖先所立的约，
就是我牵着他们祖先的手领他们离开埃及时所立的。
因为他们不持守我的约，
所以我不再理会他们。
这是主说的。
10 主又说，那些日子以后，
我将与以色列家立这样的约，
我要把我的律法放在他们脑中，
写在他们心上。
我要做他们的上帝，
他们要做我的子民。
11 谁都无需再教导自己的邻居和弟兄，
说，‘你要认识主。’
因为他们无论尊卑都必认识我。
12 我要赦免他们的过犯，
忘掉他们的罪恶。”
13 上帝既然说要立新约，就是把以前的约当作旧的了，那渐渐过时、陈旧的东西很快就会消失。

Jézus a mennyei Főpapunk!
8 Látjátok, nekünk ilyen Főpapunk van! Ez a lényege annak, amit eddig mondtunk. Igen, Jézus a Mennyben, a Felséges Isten trónjának jobb oldalán[a] ül, 2 és főpapként szolgál a mennyei Szentek Szentjében[b], az igazi Templomban, amelyet az Örökkévaló épített, nem az emberek.
3 Minden főpapnak az a dolga, hogy ajándékokat és áldozatokat vigyen Isten elé. A mi Főpapunk, Jézus sem kivétel. 4 De, ha még mindig itt, a földön élő ember lenne, nem is lehetne pap, hiszen már megvannak azok, akik a Törvény szerint az áldozatokat bemutatják. 5 Az a szolgálat azonban, amelyet a földi papok végeznek, csak másolata és árnyéka a valódi, mennyei dolgoknak! Ez abból is látható, hogy amikor Mózes a Szent Sátor felállítására készült, Isten így figyelmeztette: „Vigyázz, hogy mindent annak a mintájára készíts, amit a hegyen mutattam neked!”[c] 6 Az a szolgálat, amit Isten Jézusra bízott, sokkal magasabb rendű, mint a földi papoké.
Az Új Szövetség
Ugyanígy az Új Szövetség, amelyet Jézus hozott létre, sokkal magasabb rendű, mint a Régi Szövetség, mert sokkal jobb ígéretekre épült.
7 Ha a Régi Szövetség tökéletes lett volna, nem lett volna szükség helyette egy másikra. 8 De Isten nem volt megelégedve a népével, ezért így szólt hozzájuk:
„Eljön az idő — mondja az Örökkévaló —,
amikor új szövetséget kötök
Izráel népével és Júda népével,[d]
9 de ez az új nem olyan lesz, mint a régi,
amelyet őseikkel kötöttem azon a napon,
amikor kézen fogva kivezettem őket
Egyiptom földjéről.
Mivel nem maradtak hűségesek
a régi szövetséghez,
én is elfordultam tőlük,
— mondja az Örökkévaló. —
10 Azok után a napok után majd
új szövetséget kötök Izráel népével,
— mondja az Örökkévaló —,
törvényeimet beírom értelmükbe,
bevésem a szívükbe,
Istenükké leszek,
ők pedig népemmé lesznek.
11 Nem lesz többé szükség rá,
hogy valaki a testvérét, vagy társát tanítsa.
Nem mondja neki: »Ismerd meg az Örökkévalót!«,
mert mind ismerni fognak engem
— a legkisebbtől a legnagyobbig.
12 Mert megbocsátom gonoszságaikat,
és bűneikre többé nem emlékezem.”[e]
13 Isten „újnak” nevezte ezt a szövetséget — ez pedig azt jelenti, hogy a Régi Szövetség már elavult, s nem használható. Ami pedig elavult és használhatatlan, az hamarosan el is fog tűnni.

The High Priest of a New Covenant
8 Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest,(A) who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,(B) 2 and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle(C) set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.
3 Every high priest(D) is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices,(E) and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.(F) 4 If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law.(G) 5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy(H) and shadow(I) of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned(J) when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”[a](K) 6 But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant(L) of which he is mediator(M) is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.
7 For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.(N) 8 But God found fault with the people and said[b]:
“The days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant(O)
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
9 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors(P)
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
declares the Lord.
10 This is the covenant(Q) I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.(R)
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.(S)
11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,(T)
from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.(U)”[c](V)
13 By calling this covenant “new,”(W) he has made the first one obsolete;(X) and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
