21 接著我看見一個新天新地，因為以前的天地都消逝了，海洋也不復存在了。 2 我又看見聖城新耶路撒冷從天上的上帝那裡降下，預備好了，像妝飾整齊等候新郎的新娘。 3 我聽見從寶座中傳來響亮的聲音說：「看啊！上帝的居所設立在人間，祂要與人同住。他們要成為祂的子民，上帝要親自與他們同在，作他們的上帝。 4 上帝要擦乾他們所有的眼淚，再沒有死亡、憂傷、哭泣和痛苦，因為以前的事都已成過去。」
5 坐在寶座上的那位對我說：「看啊！我已經將一切都更新了。你要將這一切記錄下來，因為這些話真實可信。」 6 祂又對我說：「一切都成了！我是阿拉法，我是俄梅加；我是開始，我是終結。我要將生命泉的水白白賜給口渴的人。 7 得勝者必承受這一切福分，我要作他的上帝，他要作我的兒子。 8 至於那些膽怯的、不信的、行為可憎的、殺人的、淫亂的、行邪術的、拜偶像的和所有說謊的，他們的結局是被丟進硫磺火湖裡，這就是第二次的死。」
新耶路撒冷
9 七位天使手裡拿著盛滿最後七災的七個碗，其中有一位對我說：「你來，我要將新娘，就是羔羊的妻子指給你看。」 10 我被聖靈感動，天使帶著我到一座高大的山上，將從天上的上帝那裡降下的聖城新耶路撒冷指給我看。 11 城中充滿上帝的榮光，璀璨如貴重的寶石，晶瑩如碧玉。 12-13 城牆高大，有十二個城門，東、北、南、西每面三個門，每個城門都有一位天使把守，門上寫著以色列十二支派的名字。 14 城牆共有十二塊基石，基石上刻著羔羊的十二位使徒的名字。
15 那和我說話的天使拿了一根金量桿要丈量聖城、城牆和城門。 16 聖城是正方形的，長寬相等。天使用量桿丈量那城，長、寬、高都是兩千二百公里[a]。 17 他又丈量了城牆，按人的尺寸來算是六十五米[b]厚。 18 城牆是用碧玉砌成的，城本身是用純金造的，跟玻璃一樣明淨。 19 城牆的基石用各種寶石裝飾：第一塊基石是碧玉，第二塊是藍寶石，第三塊是綠瑪瑙，第四塊是綠寶石， 20 第五塊是紅瑪瑙，第六塊是紅寶石，第七塊是橄欖石，第八塊是水蒼玉，第九塊是黃寶石，第十塊是翡翠，第十一塊是紫瑪瑙，第十二塊是紫晶。
21 十二個城門是用十二顆珍珠造的，每一個城門都是一顆珍珠，城中的街道是純金的，好像透明的玻璃一樣。
22 我看見城中沒有聖殿，因為全能的主上帝和羔羊就是聖城的殿。 23 聖城裡不需要太陽和月亮的光照耀，因為有上帝的榮光照耀，羔羊就是聖城的燈。 24 萬民要在聖城的光中行走，地上的君王也要將他們的榮耀帶進聖城。 25 城門整天都開著，那裡沒有黑夜。 26 人們將列國的榮耀和尊貴帶進聖城。 27 所有污穢的、做可憎之事的、撒謊的都不得進入聖城。唯有名字記錄在羔羊的生命冊上的人才有資格進去。

21 तब मैंने एक नया स्वर्ग और एक नई पृथ्वी देखी, अब पहले का स्वर्ग और पहले की पृथ्वी का अस्तित्व न रहा था. समुद्र का अस्तित्व भी न रहा था. 2 तब मैंने पवित्र नगरी, नई येरूशालेम को स्वर्ग से, परमेश्वर की ओर से उतरते हुए देखा. वह अपने वर के लिए खुबसूरती से सजाई गई वधू के जैसे सजी थी. 3 तब मैंने सिंहासन से एक ऊँचे शब्द में यह कहते सुना, “देखो! मनुष्यों के बीच में परमेश्वर का निवास! अब परमेश्वर उनके बीच निवास करेंगे. वे उनकी प्रजा होंगे तथा स्वयं परमेश्वर उनके बीच होंगे. 4 परमेश्वर उनकी आँखों से हर एक आँसू पोंछ देंगे. अब से मृत्यु मौजूद न रहेगी. अब न रहेगा विलाप, न रोना और न पीड़ा क्योंकि जो पहली बातें थीं, अब वे न रहीं.”
5 उन्होंने, जो सिंहासन पर विराजमान हैं, कहा, “देखो! अब मैं नई सृष्टि की रचना कर रहा हूँ!” तब उन्होंने मुझे सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा, “लिखो, क्योंकि जो कुछ कहा जा रहा है, सच और विश्वासयोग्य है.”
6 तब उन्होंने आगे कहा, “सब पूरा हो चुका! मैं ही अल्फ़ा और ओमेगा हूँ—आदि तथा अन्त. मैं उसे, जो प्यासा है, जीवन-जल के सोतों से मुफ्त में पीने को दूँगा. 7 जो जयवन्त होगा, उसे यह उत्तराधिकार प्राप्त होगा: मैं उसका परमेश्वर होऊँगा, और वह मेरी सन्तान. 8 किन्तु डरपोकों, अविश्वासियों, निन्दनियों, हत्यारों, व्यभिचारियों, टोन्हों, मूर्तिपूजकों और सभी झूठ बोलनेवालों का स्थान उस झील में होगा, जो आग तथा गन्धक से धधकती रहती है. यही है दूसरी मृत्यु.”

9 तब जिन सात स्वर्गदूतों के पास सात अन्तिम विपत्तियों से भरे सात कटोरे थे, उनमें से एक ने मेरे पास आकर मुझसे कहा, “आओ, मैं तुम्हें वधू—मेमने की पत्नी दिखाऊँ.” 10 तब वह मुझे मेरी आत्मा में ध्यानमग्न अवस्था में एक बड़े पहाड़ के ऊँचे शिखर पर ले गया और मुझे परमेश्वर की ओर से स्वर्ग से उतरता हुआ पवित्र नगर येरूशालेम दिखाया. 11 परमेश्वर की महिमा से सुसज्जित उसकी आभा पारदर्शी स्फटिक जैसे बेशकीमती रत्न सूर्यकान्त के समान थी. 12 नगर की शहरपनाह ऊँची तथा विशाल थी. उसमें बारह द्वार थे तथा बारहों द्वारों पर बारह स्वर्गदूत ठहराए गए थे. उन द्वारों पर इस्राएल के बारह कुलों के नाम लिखे थे. 13 तीन द्वार पूर्व दिशा की ओर, तीन उत्तर की ओर, तीन पश्चिम की ओर तथा तीन दक्षिण की ओर थे. 14 नगर की शहरपनाह की बारह नीवें थीं. उन पर मेमने के बारहों प्रेरितों के नाम लिखे थे.
15 जो स्वर्गदूत, मुझे सम्बोधित कर रहा था, उसके पास नगर, उसके द्वार तथा उसकी शहरपनाह को मापने के लिए सोने का एक मापक-दण्ड था. 16 नगर की संरचना वर्गाकार थी—उसकी लम्बाई उसकी चौड़ाई के बराबर थी. उसने नगर को इस मापदण्ड से मापा. नगर 2,220 किलोमीटर लम्बा, इतना ही चौड़ा और इतना ही ऊँचा था. 17 तब उसने शहरपनाह को मापा. वह सामान्य मानवीय मापदण्ड के अनुसार 65 मीटर थी. यही माप स्वर्गदूत का भी था. 18 शहरपनाह सूर्यकान्त मणि की तथा नगर शुद्ध सोने का बना था, जिसकी आभा निर्मल काँच के समान थी. 19 शहरपनाह की नींव हर एक प्रकार के कीमती पत्थरों से सजायी गयी थी: पहला पत्थर था सूर्यकान्त, दूसरा नीलकान्त, तीसरा स्फटिक, चौथा पन्ना 20 पांचवां गोमेद, छठा माणिक्य, सातवां स्वर्णमणि; आठवाँ हरितमणि; नवाँ पुखराज; दसवां चन्द्रकान्त; ग्यारहवाँ धूम्रकान्त और बारहवाँ नीलम. 21 नगर के बारहों द्वार बारह मोती थे—हर एक द्वार एक पूरा मोती था तथा नगर का प्रधान मार्ग शुद्ध सोने का बना था, जिसकी आभा निर्मल काँच के समान थी.
22 इस नगर में मुझे कोई मन्दिर दिखाई न दिया क्योंकि स्वयं सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु परमेश्वर और मेमना इसका मन्दिर हैं. 23 नगर को रोशनी देने के लिए न तो सूर्य की ज़रूरत है न चन्द्रमा की क्योंकि परमेश्वर का तेज उसे उजियाला देता है तथा स्वयं मेमना इसका दीपक है. 24 राष्ट्र उसकी रोशनी में वास करेंगे तथा पृथ्वी के राजा इसमें अपना वैभव ले आएंगे. 25 दिन की समाप्ति पर नगर-द्वार कभी बन्द न किए जाएँगे क्योंकि रात यहाँ कभी होगी ही नहीं. 26 सभी राष्ट्रों का वैभव और आदर इसमें लाया जाएगा. 27 कोई भी अशुद्ध वस्तु इस नगर में न तो प्रवेश हो सकेगी और न ही वह, जिसका स्वभाव लज्जास्पद और बातें झूठ से भरी है, इसमें प्रवेश वे ही कर पाएँगे, जिनके नाम मेमने की जीवन-पुस्तक में लिखे हैं.

A New Heaven and a New Earth
21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a](A) for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,(B) and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City,(C) the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,(D) prepared as a bride(E) beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.(F) They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.(G) 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes.(H) There will be no more death’[b](I) or mourning or crying or pain,(J) for the old order of things has passed away.”(K)
5 He who was seated on the throne(L) said, “I am making everything new!”(M) Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”(N)
6 He said to me: “It is done.(O) I am the Alpha and the Omega,(P) the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost(Q) from the spring of the water of life.(R) 7 Those who are victorious(S) will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.(T) 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars(U)—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.(V) This is the second death.”(W)
The New Jerusalem, the Bride of the Lamb
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues(X) came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride,(Y) the wife of the Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away(Z) in the Spirit(AA) to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.(AB) 11 It shone with the glory of God,(AC) and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper,(AD) clear as crystal.(AE) 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates,(AF) and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.(AG) 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations,(AH) and on them were the names of the twelve apostles(AI) of the Lamb.
15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod(AJ) of gold to measure the city, its gates(AK) and its walls. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[c] in length, and as wide and high as it is long. 17 The angel measured the wall using human(AL) measurement, and it was 144 cubits[d] thick.[e] 18 The wall was made of jasper,(AM) and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.(AN) 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone.(AO) The first foundation was jasper,(AP) the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby,(AQ) the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.[f] 21 The twelve gates(AR) were twelve pearls,(AS) each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.(AT)
22 I did not see a temple(AU) in the city, because the Lord God Almighty(AV) and the Lamb(AW) are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God(AX) gives it light,(AY) and the Lamb(AZ) is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.(BA) 25 On no day will its gates(BB) ever be shut,(BC) for there will be no night there.(BD) 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.(BE) 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful,(BF) but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.(BG)

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
