保羅不以哥林多教會為屬靈的
3 弟兄們，我從前對你們說話，不能把你們當做屬靈的，只得把你們當做屬肉體、在基督裡為嬰孩的。 2 我是用奶餵你們，沒有用飯餵你們。那時你們不能吃，就是如今還是不能。 3 你們仍是屬肉體的，因為在你們中間有嫉妒、紛爭，這豈不是屬乎肉體、照著世人的樣子行嗎？ 4 有說「我是屬保羅的」，有說「我是屬亞波羅的」，這豈不是你們和世人一樣嗎？ 5 亞波羅算什麼？保羅算什麼？無非是執事，照主所賜給他們各人的，引導你們相信。
使徒與神同工
6 我栽種了，亞波羅澆灌了，唯有神叫他生長。 7 可見栽種的算不得什麼，澆灌的也算不得什麼，只在那叫他生長的神。 8 栽種的和澆灌的都是一樣，但將來各人要照自己的工夫得自己的賞賜。 9 因為我們是與神同工的，你們是神所耕種的田地，所建造的房屋。
唯有基督是教會的根基
10 我照神所給我的恩，好像一個聰明的工頭立好了根基，有別人在上面建造，只是各人要謹慎怎樣在上面建造。 11 因為那已經立好的根基就是耶穌基督，此外沒有人能立別的根基。 12 若有人用金、銀、寶石、草、木、禾秸在這根基上建造， 13 各人的工程必然顯露；因為那日子要將它表明出來，有火發現，這火要試驗各人的工程怎樣。 14 人在那根基上所建造的工程若存得住，他就要得賞賜； 15 人的工程若被燒了，他就要受虧損，自己卻要得救，雖然得救，乃像從火裡經過的一樣。
門徒是神之殿應當聖潔
16 豈不知你們是神的殿，神的靈住在你們裡頭嗎？ 17 若有人毀壞神的殿，神必要毀壞那人；因為神的殿是聖的，這殿就是你們。
18 人不可自欺。你們中間若有人在這世界自以為有智慧，倒不如變做愚拙，好成為有智慧的。 19 因這世界的智慧在神看是愚拙，如經上記著說：「主叫有智慧的中了自己的詭計」， 20 又說：「主知道智慧人的意念是虛妄的。」 21 所以，無論誰都不可拿人誇口，因為萬有全是你們的， 22 或保羅，或亞波羅，或磯法，或世界，或生，或死，或現今的事，或將來的事，全是你們的； 23 並且你們是屬基督的，基督又是屬神的。

3 1-4 But for right now, friends, I’m completely frustrated by your unspiritual dealings with each other and with God. You’re acting like infants in relation to Christ, capable of nothing much more than nursing at the breast. Well, then, I’ll nurse you since you don’t seem capable of anything more. As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything’s going your way? When one of you says, “I’m on Paul’s side,” and another says, “I’m for Apollos,” aren’t you being totally childish?
5-9 Who do you think Paul is, anyway? Or Apollos, for that matter? Servants, both of us—servants who waited on you as you gradually learned to entrust your lives to our mutual Master. We each carried out our servant assignment. I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plants, but God made you grow. It’s not the one who plants or the one who waters who is at the center of this process but God, who makes things grow. Planting and watering are menial servant jobs at minimum wages. What makes them worth doing is the God we are serving. You happen to be God’s field in which we are working.
9-15 Or, to put it another way, you are God’s house. Using the gift God gave me as a good architect, I designed blueprints; Apollos is putting up the walls. Let each carpenter who comes on the job take care to build on the foundation! Remember, there is only one foundation, the one already laid: Jesus Christ. Take particular care in picking out your building materials. Eventually there is going to be an inspection. If you use cheap or inferior materials, you’ll be found out. The inspection will be thorough and rigorous. You won’t get by with a thing. If your work passes inspection, fine; if it doesn’t, your part of the building will be torn out and started over. But you won’t be torn out; you’ll survive—but just barely.
16-17 You realize, don’t you, that you are the temple of God, and God himself is present in you? No one will get by with vandalizing God’s temple, you can be sure of that. God’s temple is sacred—and you, remember, are the temple.
18-20 Don’t fool yourself. Don’t think that you can be wise merely by being relevant. Be God’s fool—that’s the path to true wisdom. What the world calls smart, God calls stupid. It’s written in Scripture,
He exposes the hype of the hipsters.
The Master sees through the smoke screens
of the know-it-alls.
21-23 I don’t want to hear any of you bragging about yourself or anyone else. Everything is already yours as a gift—Paul, Apollos, Peter, the world, life, death, the present, the future—all of it is yours, and you are privileged to be in union with Christ, who is in union with God.

3 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit(A) but as people who are still worldly(B)—mere infants(C) in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food,(D) for you were not yet ready for it.(E) Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling(F) among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,”(G) are you not mere human beings?
5 What, after all, is Apollos?(H) And what is Paul? Only servants,(I) through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed,(J) Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.(K) 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service;(L) you are God’s field,(M) God’s building.(N)
10 By the grace God has given me,(O) I laid a foundation(P) as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.(Q) 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is,(R) because the Day(S) will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.(T) 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.(U) 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.(V)
16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple(W) and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?(X) 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise(Y) by the standards of this age,(Z) you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness(AA) in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”[a];(AB) 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”[b](AC) 21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders!(AD) All things are yours,(AE) 22 whether Paul or Apollos(AF) or Cephas[c](AG) or the world or life or death or the present or the future(AH)—all are yours, 23 and you are of Christ,(AI) and Christ is of God.

3 Thưa anh chị em, trước kia tôi chưa thể nói với anh chị em như với người thiêng liêng. Tôi chỉ có thể nói với anh chị em như người thuộc về trần gian—giống như các em bé trong Chúa Cứu Thế vậy. 2 Tôi chỉ có thể lấy sữa nuôi anh chị em chứ không thể dùng thức ăn cứng. Ngay đến bây giờ anh chị em cũng chưa sẵn sàng nhận thức ăn cứng. 3 Anh chị em chưa trưởng thành về mặt thiêng liêng vì giữa vòng anh chị em vẫn còn có đố kỵ, cãi vã. Những điều ấy chứng tỏ anh chị em chưa đủ thiêng liêng. Anh chị em hành động giống y như người thế gian. 4 Có người trong vòng anh chị em nói, “Tôi theo Phao-lô,” người khác thì nói, “Tôi theo A-bô-lô,” như thế có phải anh chị em đã hành động như người trần tục không?
5 A-bô-lô là gì?—Hẳn là không! Phao-lô có ra gì không?—Hẳn là không! Chúng tôi chỉ là đầy tớ của Thượng Đế giúp hướng dẫn anh chị em tin theo Ngài thôi. Mỗi người chúng tôi làm phần vụ Ngài giao cho. 6 Tôi trồng, A-bô-lô tưới. Nhưng Thượng Đế, Đấng làm cho lớn lên mới quan trọng. 7 Người trồng, kẻ tưới không đáng kể gì cả. Người quan trọng là Đấng làm cho lớn lên. 8 Người trồng và kẻ tưới đều theo đuổi cùng một mục đích, mỗi người đều sẽ nhận lãnh thù lao theo công khó mình. 9 Chúng tôi là nhân công của Thượng Đế, cùng cộng tác với nhau; còn anh chị em là đồng ruộng và là nhà của Ngài. 10 Nhờ ân tứ Thượng Đế ban cho tôi, tôi đã đặt nền móng như một thợ xây nhà khéo. Còn những người khác xây trên nền ấy. Nhưng ai nấy hãy thận trọng về cách mình xây. 11 Nền đã đặt là Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu, ngoài Ngài ra không ai có thể đặt nền nào khác. 12 Nhưng nếu có ai dùng vàng, bạc, châu báu, gỗ, cỏ tranh, rơm rạ mà xây trên nền ấy 13 thì đến Ngày Xét Xử [a], công tác họ sẽ được phơi bày rõ ràng. Vì ngày ấy sẽ đến cùng với lửa, lửa sẽ thử nghiệm công tác mỗi người để bày tỏ ra. 14 Nếu kiến trúc của ai xây trên nền còn đứng vững, người ấy sẽ được thưởng. 15 Còn nếu kiến trúc bị cháy sập, thợ xây đó sẽ chịu lỗ. Thợ xây thì vẫn được cứu, nhưng giống như người vừa thoát cơn hỏa hoạn.
16 Anh chị em không biết rằng mình là đền thờ [b] của Thượng Đế và Thánh Linh của Ngài đang sống trong anh chị em sao? 17 Nếu ai phá hủy đền thờ Thượng Đế thì Thượng Đế sẽ hủy phá họ vì đền thờ Thượng Đế là thánh mà anh chị em là đền thờ của Ngài.
18 Chớ nên tự gạt. Nếu anh chị em cho rằng mình khôn ngoan theo đời nầy thì nên hóa ra khờ dại để thực sự khôn ngoan, 19 vì cái khôn đời nầy là điều khờ dại trước mặt Thượng Đế. Như Thánh Kinh viết, “Ngài bắt kẻ khôn trong chính mưu mô của họ.” [c] 20 Thánh Kinh cũng viết thêm, “Thượng Đế biết ý nghĩ kẻ khôn. Ngài biết tư tưởng họ hoàn toàn vô dụng.” [d] 21 Vì thế anh chị em không nên tự hào về ai cả. Tất cả đều thuộc về anh chị em: 22 Dù Phao-lô, A-bô-lô, Phia-rơ [e]; thế gian nầy, sự sống, sự chết, thời hiện tại hay thời tương lai—tất cả đều thuộc về anh chị em. 23 Anh chị em thuộc về Chúa Cứu Thế và Chúa Cứu Thế thuộc về Thượng Đế.

3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;
22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;
