圣殿奉献礼
7 所罗门祷告完毕，就有火从天上降下，烧尽了燔祭和其他祭物。殿里充满了耶和华的荣光， 2 以致祭司不能进殿。 3 全体以色列人看见有火降下，又看见耶和华的荣光停在殿上，便俯伏敬拜，称谢耶和华说：
“耶和华是美善的，
祂的慈爱永远长存。”
4 所罗门王和全体民众一同向耶和华献祭。 5 所罗门王献上两万二千头牛和十二万只羊，王和全体民众为上帝的殿举行奉献典礼。 6 祭司在自己的岗位上侍立，利未人奏着大卫王为颂赞耶和华而为他们制造的乐器，歌颂说：“祂的慈爱永远长存。”他们对面的祭司也吹响号角，全体以色列人都肃立。
7 所罗门因所造的铜坛太小，容不下燔祭、素祭和脂肪，就把耶和华殿前院子中间的地方分别出来，作圣洁之地，在那里献上燔祭和平安祭祭牲的脂肪。
8 所罗门和从哈马口直至埃及小河而来的全体以色列人聚成一大群会众，一起守节期七天。 9 第八天举行庄严的聚会，又举行七天献坛礼。之后，他们又欢庆七天。 10 七月二十三日，所罗门王让民众各回本乡。他们看见耶和华向大卫、所罗门和祂的以色列子民所施的恩惠，就满心欢喜地回家去了。

11 所罗门建完了耶和华的殿和他自己的王宫，他按计划完成了耶和华殿里和他自己宫里的一切工作。 12 耶和华在夜间向所罗门显现，对他说：“我已听见你的祷告，也已选择这殿作为给我献祭的地方。 13 若我使天不下雨，使蝗虫吞吃地上的出产，或叫瘟疫在我民中流行， 14 而这些被称为我名下的子民若谦卑下来，祈祷、寻求我的面，离开恶道，我必从天上垂听，赦免他们的罪，医治他们的土地。 15 现在，我会睁眼看、留心听在这殿里献上的祷告。 16 我已选择这殿，使之圣洁，永远归在我的名下，我的眼和我的心必常在那里。 17 如果你像你父亲大卫一样事奉我，遵行我一切的吩咐，谨守我的律例和典章， 18 我必使你的王位稳固，正如我曾与你父亲大卫立约，说，‘你的子孙必永远统治以色列。’

The Dedication of the Temple(A)
7 When Solomon finished praying, fire(B) came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled(C) the temple.(D) 2 The priests could not enter(E) the temple of the Lord because the glory(F) of the Lord filled it. 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying,
“He is good;
his love endures forever.”(G)
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord. 5 And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God. 6 The priests took their positions, as did the Levites(H) with the Lord’s musical instruments,(I) which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, “His love endures forever.” Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.
7 Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat(J) of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions.
8 So Solomon observed the festival(K) at that time for seven days, and all Israel(L) with him—a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath(M) to the Wadi of Egypt.(N) 9 On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had celebrated(O) the dedication of the altar for seven days and the festival(P) for seven days more. 10 On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people to their homes, joyful and glad in heart for the good things the Lord had done for David and Solomon and for his people Israel.
The Lord Appears to Solomon(Q)
11 When Solomon had finished(R) the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, 12 the Lord appeared(S) to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen(T) this place for myself(U) as a temple for sacrifices.
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain,(V) or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name,(W) will humble(X) themselves and pray and seek my face(Y) and turn(Z) from their wicked ways, then I will hear(AA) from heaven, and I will forgive(AB) their sin and will heal(AC) their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.(AD) 16 I have chosen(AE) and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
17 “As for you, if you walk before me faithfully(AF) as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees(AG) and laws, 18 I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted(AH) with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor(AI) to rule over Israel.’(AJ)
19 “But if you[a] turn away(AK) and forsake(AL) the decrees and commands I have given you[b] and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot(AM) Israel from my land,(AN) which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule(AO) among all peoples. 21 This temple will become a heap of rubble. All[c] who pass by will be appalled(AP) and say,(AQ) ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ 22 People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them(AR)—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’”

The Temple Is Given to the Lord
7 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from the sky. It burned up the burnt offering and the sacrifices. The Lord’s glory filled the Temple. 2 The priests could not enter the Temple of the Lord because the Lord’s glory filled it. 3 All the people of Israel saw the fire come down from heaven. They also saw the Lord’s glory on the Temple. Then they bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the ground. They worshiped and thanked the Lord. They said,
“The Lord is good.
His love continues forever.”
4 Then King Solomon and all the Israelites offered sacrifices before the Lord. 5 King Solomon offered a sacrifice of 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the people gave the Temple for the worship of God. 6 The priests stood ready to do their work. The Levites also stood with the instruments of the Lord’s music. King David had made these instruments for praising the Lord. The priests and Levites were saying, “The Lord’s love continues forever.” The priests, who stood across from the Levites, blew their trumpets. And all the Israelites were standing.
7 Solomon made the middle part of the courtyard holy for the Lord. That courtyard is in front of the Temple of the Lord. There Solomon offered burnt offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings. He used the middle of the courtyard because the bronze altar he had made could not hold everything. It couldn’t hold the burnt offerings, grain offerings and fat.
8 Solomon and all the Israelites celebrated the festival for seven days. There were many people. They came from as far away as Lebo Hamath. And they came all the way from the brook of Egypt. 9 They had given the altar for the worship of the Lord. And they celebrated that for seven days. Then they celebrated the festival for seven days. On the eighth day they had a meeting. 10 On the twenty-third day of the seventh month Solomon sent the people home. They were full of joy. They were happy because the Lord had been so good to David, Solomon and his people the Israelites.
The Lord Appears to Solomon
11 Solomon finished the Temple of the Lord and the king’s palace. He had success in doing everything he planned in the Temple of the Lord and his own palace. 12 Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night. The Lord said, “Solomon, I have heard your prayer. And I have chosen this place for myself to be a Temple for sacrifices.
13 “I may stop the sky from sending rain. I may command the locusts to destroy the land. I may send sicknesses to my people. 14 Then my people, who are called by my name, will be sorry for what they have done. They will pray and obey me and stop their evil ways. If they do, I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land. 15 Now I will see them. And I will listen to the prayers prayed in this place. 16 I have chosen this Temple and made it holy. So I will be worshiped here forever. Yes, I will always watch over it and love it.
17 “Solomon, obey me as your father David did. Obey all I have commanded. Obey my laws and rules. 18 If you do, I will make your kingdom strong. This is the agreement I made with your father David. I told him, ‘David, someone from your family will always be king in Israel.’
19 “But you must not turn away from me. You must not stop obeying the laws and commands I gave you. You must not serve and worship other gods. 20 If you do, I will take the Israelites out of my land, the land I gave them. And I will leave this Temple that I have made holy. All the nations will make fun of it and speak evil about it. 21 This Temple is honored now. But then, everyone who passes by will be surprised. They will say, ‘Why has the Lord done this terrible thing to this land and this Temple?’ 22 Then people will answer, ‘It’s because the Israelites left the Lord, the God their ancestors obeyed. He is the God who led them out of Egypt. But they accepted other gods and worshiped and served them. That is why the Lord brought this disaster on them.’”

A consagração do templo

7 Quando Salomão acabou de orar, desceu fogo do céu e consumiu os holocaustos. A glória do Senhor encheu o templo. 2 Foi de tal forma que os sacerdotes nem podiam sequer lá entrar! 3 Todo aquele povo que ali estava prostrou-se com o rosto em terra, adorou e louvou o Senhor, quando viu aquilo:
“O Senhor é bom!
A sua bondade é eterna!”
4-5 Então o rei e todo o povo consagraram o templo, oferecendo sacrifícios de paz ao Senhor. A contribuição de Salomão para esse fim foi de 22 000 bois e de 120 000 ovelhas. 6 Os sacerdotes encontravam-se nos lugares que lhes eram atribuídos, segundo as suas funções; os levitas acompanhavam com instrumentos os cânticos de louvor ao Senhor, “porque a sua bondade é eterna.” Os instrumentos que usavam eram os que David fizera, ele próprio, e usara para o culto do Senhor. Chegando a altura em que os sacerdotes tocaram as trombetas, todo o povo se ergueu e ficou de pé.
7 Salomão consagrou o pátio interior do templo, para uso naquele dia, como local de sacrifício para os holocaustos das ofertas de cereais e da porção de gordura das ofertas de paz, porque estes eram tantos que se tornava incomportável sacrificar no altar de bronze.
8 Nos sete dias seguintes, Salomão celebrou com todo o Israel, a festa dos tabernáculos e reuniu-se ali uma grande multidão que chegava de toda a parte de Israel. Vinham desde Hamate, numa das extremidades do país, até ao ribeiro do Egito, no lado oposto. 9 No final, no oitavo dia, realizaram uma assembleia, pois tinham celebrado a dedicação do altar em sete dias e o festival em sete dias suplementares. 10 Depois, no dia 23 do sétimo mês[a], o povo foi mandado para casa, no meio de grandes manifestações de alegria e muito contentamento interior, porque o Senhor tinha sido tão bom para David e Salomão e para o seu povo de Israel.
O Senhor fala de novo a Salomão
(1 Rs 9.1-9)
11 Salomão terminou assim a construção do templo e também a do seu próprio palácio; tudo conforme planeara. 12 De noite, apareceu-lhe o Senhor, que lhe disse:
“Ouvi a tua oração e escolhi este sítio para o templo onde me será prestado culto.
13 Se eu fechar os céus de forma a que não haja mais chuva, se ordenar aos gafanhotos que consumam as searas, ou se enviar uma epidemia entre o povo, 14 então, se o meu povo a quem dei o meu nome se humilhar, orar e me buscar, arrependendo-se dos seus pecados, eu responderei desde o céu, perdoarei os seus pecados e sararei a terra. 15 Estarei bem atento e favorável às orações feitas neste lugar. 16 Porque escolhi este templo e o santifiquei para que o meu nome seja nele glorificado para sempre. Os meus olhos e o meu coração estarão aqui continuamente.
17 Quanto a ti mesmo, se andares perante mim como o teu pai, David, se a tua vida se conformar com tudo quanto te ordenei, se respeitares os meus mandamentos e guardares a minha palavra, 18 farei com que os teus descendentes sejam reis de Israel para sempre, tal como prometi a David, teu pai, quando lhe disse: ‘Não te faltará descendente para reinar sobre o trono de Israel.’
19 Contudo, se tu ou os teus filhos se afastarem de mim, se deixarem de seguir as leis e mandamentos que vos dei, para servirem e adorarem outros deuses, 20 então arrancarei este povo da minha terra que lhes dei, e este templo, que santifiquei para que o meu nome seja nele glorificado, será destruído. Afastá-lo-ei da minha vista e farei com que o meu povo se torne motivo de desprezo e de escárnio para todas as nações; uma desgraça que toda a gente receia que venha a acontecer-lhe. 21 Este templo ficará num montão de ruínas, e qualquer pessoa que por aqui passar ficará espantada e abanará a cabeça, dizendo: ‘Porque é que o Senhor fez tais coisas a esta terra e a este templo?’ 22 A resposta será: ‘Porque este povo abandonou o Senhor, Deus dos seus antepassados, o Deus que o tirou da terra do Egito, e agora adora outros deuses. Foi por essa razão que o Senhor trouxe sobre ele este grande mal.’ ”
