为建殿而献的礼物

29 大卫王又对全体会众说：“我儿所罗门是上帝特别拣选的，但他还年轻，缺乏经验。建殿的工程浩大，因为这殿不是为人造的，乃是为耶和华上帝造的。 2 我已竭尽所能为我上帝的殿预备了制作金器、银器、铜器、铁器和木器所需的金银铜铁及木头，还有大量的玛瑙、镶嵌用的宝石、彩石、大理石及其他贵重的石头。 3 而且，我因为爱慕我上帝的殿，除了预备以上物品外，还把自己珍藏的金银献上，用来建造我上帝的殿。 4 我献上一百吨俄斐金、二百四十吨纯银，用来贴殿墙， 5 供匠人制作金器银器。今天，有谁乐意向耶和华奉献？”

6 结果，各族长、以色列各支派的首领、千夫长、百夫长和负责王室事务的官员都乐意奉献， 7 他们为上帝的殿奉献了一百七十吨金子，三百四十吨银子，六百二十吨铜，三千四百吨铁。 8 有宝石的人都把宝石交到耶和华殿的库房，由革顺人耶歇保管。 9 因为他们诚心诚意地把东西献给上帝，百姓欢喜不已，大卫王也非常欢喜。

大卫颂赞耶和华

10 大卫在会众面前颂赞耶和华，说：“我们先祖以色列的上帝耶和华啊，你永永远远当受颂赞！ 11 耶和华啊，伟大、权能、荣耀、尊贵和威严都是你的，天上地下的一切都是你的。耶和华啊，国度是你的，你是万有的主宰。 12 富贵和尊荣都从你而来，你掌管一切，你手中有权能和力量，能使人尊大、强盛。 13 我们的上帝啊，我们称颂你，赞美你荣耀的名。

14 “我算什么，我的人民算什么，怎么配向你奉献？因为万物都从你而来，我们只是把从你那里得来的献给你。 15 我们在你面前只是客旅，是寄居的，像我们祖先一样；我们在世的日子就像影子一样转瞬即逝。 16 我们的上帝耶和华啊，我们为你的圣名建造殿宇所预备的这一切财物都是从你那里来的，都属于你。 17 我的上帝啊，我知道你洞察人心，喜爱正直的人。我怀着正直的心甘愿献上这一切，我也看见你这里的子民甘心乐意地将财物献给你。 18 我们祖先亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的上帝耶和华啊！求你使你的子民常存这样的心志，使他们的心忠于你。 19 求你赐给我儿所罗门忠诚的心，以遵行你的诫命、法度和律例，用我预备的材料全力建造殿宇。”

20 大卫对全体会众说：“你们要颂赞你们的上帝耶和华。”于是，全体会众颂赞他们祖先的上帝耶和华，向耶和华和王俯伏下拜。

所罗门被立为王

21 次日，他们向耶和华献祭。他们代表全以色列献上一千头公牛、一千只公绵羊、一千只羊羔作燔祭，同时还献上奠祭及许多其他祭。 22 那一天，他们在耶和华面前欢欢喜喜地吃喝。

他们再次拥立大卫的儿子所罗门做王，在耶和华面前膏立他做首领，又膏立撒督做祭司。 23 于是，所罗门登上了耶和华所赐的王位，接替他父亲大卫做王。他凡事亨通，以色列众人都服从他， 24 众首领、勇士以及大卫王的众子都效忠于他。 25 耶和华使所罗门倍受以色列人尊崇，赐他君王的威严，超过在他之前的所有以色列王。

大卫去世

26 耶西的儿子大卫是全以色列的王， 27 他在以色列执政共四十年：在希伯仑执政七年，在耶路撒冷执政三十三年。 28 大卫年纪老迈，享尽富贵尊荣后，寿终正寝。他儿子所罗门继位。 29 大卫王一生的事迹都记在撒母耳先见、拿单先知和迦得先见的史记上。 30 书中记述了他的政绩和英勇事迹，以及他和以色列及列国所遭遇的事。

Les dons du roi pour la construction du Temple

29 Puis le roi David dit à toute l’assemblée : Mon fils Salomon, le seul que Dieu ait choisi, est jeune et inexpérimenté, alors que l’ouvrage est immense, car ce n’est pas pour un homme qu’il s’agit de construire un palais, mais bien pour l’Eternel Dieu. 2 Quant à moi, j’ai consacré tous mes efforts à préparer pour le temple de mon Dieu de l’or, de l’argent, du bronze, du fer et du bois pour tout ce qui est à fabriquer avec ces divers matériaux. J’ai préparé aussi des pierres d’onyx et des pierres à enchâsser, des pierres brillantes et de diverses couleurs, toutes sortes de pierres précieuses et des blocs de marbre blanc en abondance[a]. 3 De plus, par amour pour le temple de Dieu, je donne pour sa construction des biens précieux en or et en argent que je possède personnellement, en plus de tout ce que j’ai préparé pour le sanctuaire. 4 Il y a dans mes réserves cent tonnes d’or pur d’Ophir[b] et deux cent cinquante tonnes d’argent affiné pour recouvrir les parois des bâtiments. 5 Cet or et cet argent sont destinés à la confection de tout ce qui doit être en or et en argent, ainsi qu’à tous les travaux que les artisans auront à exécuter. A présent, qui d’entre vous est prêt à donner volontairement et de façon généreuse pour l’Eternel ?

Les dons du peuple pour la construction du Temple

6 Alors les chefs des groupes familiaux et des tribus d’Israël, les chefs des « milliers » et des « centaines » et les responsables des affaires du roi offrirent des dons volontaires. 7 Ils remirent spontanément pour le temple de Dieu cent soixante-dix tonnes d’or, dix mille pièces d’or, plus de trois cents tonnes d’argent, quelque six cents tonnes de bronze et plus de trois mille tonnes de fer. 8 Ceux qui possédaient des pierres précieuses les confièrent à Yehiel le Guershonite pour le trésor du temple de l’Eternel. 9 Le peuple se réjouit de ses dons volontaires, car c’était d’un cœur sans partage qu’ils les avaient faits à l’Eternel. Le roi David en éprouva lui aussi une très grande joie.

Prière de reconnaissance

10 David bénit l’Eternel devant toute l’assemblée en disant :

Béni sois-tu à tout jamais, ╵ô Eternel,
Dieu de notre ancêtre Israël !
11 A toi, Eternel, appartiennent ╵la grandeur, la puissance ╵et la magnificence,
et la gloire et la majesté.
Car tout ce qui est dans le ciel ╵et sur la terre ╵est à toi, Eternel.
C’est à toi qu’appartient le règne,
tu es le souverain ╵au-dessus de tout être[c].
12 Et c’est de toi que viennent ╵la richesse et la gloire.
Tu domines sur tout
et dans ta main résident ╵la force et la puissance,
tu détiens le pouvoir ╵d’élever qui tu veux ╵et de le rendre fort.
13 C’est pourquoi, notre Dieu, ╵nous te louons,
nous célébrons ta gloire.
14 Car, qui donc suis-je,
et qui donc est mon peuple
pour avoir les moyens ╵de t’offrir de tels dons ?
Tout cela vient de toi,
et c’est de ta main même ╵que nous avons reçu ╵ce que nous te donnons.
15 Nous sommes devant toi ╵comme des étrangers, des hôtes, ╵tout comme nos ancêtres.
Notre vie sur la terre ╵est aussi éphémère ╵qu’une ombre passagère, ╵qui passe sans espoir.
16 Eternel, notre Dieu, ╵c’est de ta main que vient ╵toute cette fortune
que nous venons de réunir ╵pour te bâtir un temple ╵qui portera ton nom, ╵toi qui es saint.
Tout cela t’appartient.
17 Je le sais, ô mon Dieu, ╵tu sondes notre cœur
et tu as du plaisir ╵lorsque quelqu’un est droit.
Eh bien, c’est d’un cœur droit ╵que je t’ai apporté ╵tous ces dons volontaires,
et j’ai vu avec joie ╵ton peuple ici présent ╵t’apporter ses dons volontaires.
18 O Eternel, Dieu d’Abraham, ╵d’Isaac et d’Israël, nos pères,
conserve pour toujours ╵dans le cœur de ton peuple ╵ces dispositions, ces pensées,
et maintiens fermement ╵leur cœur tourné vers toi !
19 A mon fils Salomon ╵donne un cœur sans partage
afin qu’il obéisse ╵à tes commandements,
tes ordonnances et tes lois, ╵et les applique tous,
et qu’il bâtisse le palais[d] ╵en vue duquel j’ai fait ╵tous ces préparatifs.

L’onction royale de Salomon

20 Là-dessus, David dit à toute l’assemblée : Bénissez l’Eternel, votre Dieu !

Alors toute l’assemblée loua l’Eternel, le Dieu de ses ancêtres. Ils s’inclinèrent et se prosternèrent devant l’Eternel et devant le roi. 21 Le lendemain, ils offrirent des sacrifices et des holocaustes à l’Eternel : mille taureaux, mille béliers et mille agneaux, accompagnés des offrandes de vin requises[e] ; et ils offrirent un grand nombre de sacrifices pour tout Israël. 22 Ils mangèrent et burent ce jour-là devant l’Eternel dans de grandes réjouissances. Pour la seconde fois[f], ils proclamèrent roi Salomon, fils de David, et lui conférèrent l’onction au nom de l’Eternel pour être leur chef. Ils établirent aussi par l’onction Tsadoq comme prêtre. 23 Salomon prit place sur le trône de l’Eternel, pour régner à la place de son père David. Il l’occupa avec succès et tout Israël lui obéit. 24 Tous les chefs, et les soldats, et même tous les fils du roi David se soumirent à lui. 25 L’Eternel éleva au plus haut point le prestige de Salomon aux yeux de tout Israël, et il rendit son règne plus éclatant que celui de tous ses prédécesseurs, comme roi sur Israël.

La mort de David(A)

26 David, fils d’Isaï, avait régné sur tout Israël. 27 Il avait régné quarante ans sur Israël, sept ans à Hébron[g] et trente-trois ans à Jérusalem[h].

28 Et il mourut au terme d’une heureuse vieillesse, rassasié de jours, de richesses et de gloire. Son fils Salomon lui succéda sur le trône.

29 Les faits et gestes du roi David, des premiers aux derniers, sont cités dans les Annales du prophète Samuel, dans les Annales du prophète Nathan, et dans les Annales du prophète Gad. 30 On y raconte tout son règne, sa puissance, et tout ce qui lui est arrivé, ainsi qu’à Israël, et à tous les royaumes de la région.

Donativos y colecta para el Templo

29 Luego el rey David se dirigió a toda la asamblea:

— Mi hijo Salomón, el único a quien Dios ha escogido, es joven e inexperto y la empresa es enorme, pues no es este el palacio para un hombre, sino para Dios, el Señor. 2 Con todas mis fuerzas yo he preparado para el Templo de mi Dios el oro, la plata, el bronce, el hierro y la madera necesarios para sus respectivos objetos, así como piedras de ónice y de engaste, piedras multicolores para mosaicos, toda clase de piedras preciosas y mármol en abundancia. 3 Además, por amor al Templo de mi Dios, aparte de todo lo que he preparado para el santuario, he entregado el oro y la plata de mi propiedad personal para el Templo de mi Dios: 4 trescientos talentos de oro de Ofir, setecientos talentos de plata fina para recubrir las paredes de las dependencias, 5 oro y plata para sus objetos respectivos y para toda la obra de los orfebres. ¿Quién está hoy dispuesto a hacer voluntariamente su donativo generoso al Señor?

6 Entonces los cabezas de familia, los jefes de las tribus de Israel, los capitanes de millar y de cien y los encargados de obras del rey hicieron donativos voluntarios 7 y entregaron para el servicio del Templo cinco mil talentos y diez mil dracmas de oro, diez mil talentos de plata, dieciocho mil de bronce y cien mil de hierro; 8 y los que tenían piedras preciosas las depositaron en manos del guersonita Jiel para el tesoro del Templo. 9 El pueblo se alegraba de los donativos voluntarios que habían hecho al Señor de todo corazón. El rey David también se alegró mucho 10 y bendijo al Señor ante toda la asamblea diciendo:

— ¡Bendito seas Señor, Dios de nuestro padre Israel, por siempre y para siempre! 11 Tuyos son, Señor, la grandeza, el poder, la gloria, el honor y la majestad, porque todo cuanto hay en cielo y tierra te pertenece, y ejerces el reinado y el dominio sobre todo. 12 Tu presencia irradia riqueza y gloria, Tú eres soberano de todo, en tu mano están la fuerza y la grandeza y con tu mano engrandeces y fortaleces a todos. 13 Por eso, Dios nuestro, nosotros te damos gracias y alabamos tu nombre glorioso. 14 Ni yo ni mi pueblo somos nadie para atrevernos a hacerte estos donativos, pues todo procede de ti y sólo te damos lo que de ti hemos recibido. 15 Ante ti no somos más que extranjeros y advenedizos, al igual que todos nuestros antepasados, y nuestra vida terrena es sólo una sombra efímera. 16 Señor Dios nuestro, todo este cúmulo de preparativos que hemos hecho para edificar un Templo en honor de tu santo nombre procede de ti y todo te pertenece. 17 Bien sé, Dios mío, que tú sondeas las conciencias y amas la sinceridad. Por eso, yo te he hecho todos estos donativos voluntaria y sinceramente, y ahora veo con alegría que tu pueblo, aquí presente, también ha contribuido voluntariamente. 18 Señor Dios de nuestros antepasados Abrahán, Isaac e Israel, conserva siempre en el corazón de tu pueblo estas actitudes e intenciones y encamina sus corazones hacia ti. 19 Da a mi hijo Salomón un corazón íntegro para poner en práctica todos tus mandatos, leyes y preceptos y para edificar el Templo que te he preparado.

20 Luego David dijo a toda la asamblea:

— Bendigan al Señor su Dios.

Y toda la asamblea bendijo al Señor Dios de sus antepasados y se inclinó con reverencia ante el Señor y ante el rey.

Fiesta de la coronación

21 Al día siguiente ofrecieron sacrificios y holocaustos al Señor: mil novillos, mil carneros y mil corderos, con sus respectivas libaciones, y otros muchos sacrificios por todo Israel. 22 Aquel día comieron y bebieron en presencia del Señor con gran alegría, y por segunda vez proclamaron rey a Salomón, hijo de David, consagrándolo ante el Señor como príncipe, y a Sadoc como sacerdote. 23 Salomón se sentó en el trono del Señor como sucesor de su padre David y tuvo éxito. Todo Israel lo obedeció, 24 y todas las autoridades, los guerreros y los hijos de David rindieron homenaje al rey Salomón. 25 El Señor lo engrandeció extraordinariamente ante todo Israel y le concedió un reinado tan glorioso como no había tenido en Israel ningún rey precedente.

Fin del reinado de David

26 David, hijo de Jesé, había reinado sobre todo Israel 27 durante cuarenta años: siete en Hebrón y treinta y tres en Jerusalén. 28 Murió en buena vejez, colmado de años, riquezas y gloria. Su hijo Salomón le sucedió como rey. 29 La historia del rey David, de principio a fin, está escrita en los libros de los profetas Samuel, Natán y Gad, 30 incluyendo todo su reinado, sus gestas y cuanto le sucedió a él, a Israel y a los demás países.

29 And king David said to all the assembly: Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is as yet young and tender: and the work is great, for a house is prepared not for man, but for God.

2 And I with all my ability have prepared the expenses for the house of my God. Gold for vessels of gold, and silver for vessels of silver, brass for things of brass, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood: and onyx stones, and stones like alabaster, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble of Paros in great abundance.

3 Now over and above the things which I have offered into the house of my God I give of my own proper goods, gold and silver for the temple of my God, beside what things I have prepared for the holy house.

4 Three thousand talents of gold of the gold of Ophir: and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the temple.

5 And gold for wheresoever there is need of gold: and silver for wheresoever there is need of silver, for the works to be made by the hands of the artificers: now if any man is willing to offer, let him fill his hand to day, and offer what he pleaseth to the Lord.

6 Then the heads of the families, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, and the overseers of the king's possessions promised,

7 And they gave for the works of the house of the Lord, of gold, five thousand talents, and ten thousand solids: of silver ten thousand talents: and of brass eighteen thousand talents: and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

8 And all they that had stones, gave them to the treasures of the house of the Lord, by the hand of Jahiel the Gersonite.

9 And the people rejoiced, when they promised their offerings willingly: because they offered them to the Lord with all their heart: and David the king rejoiced also with a great joy.

10 And he blessed the Lord before all the multitude, and he said: Blessed art thou, O Lord the God of Israel, our father from eternity to eternity.

11 Thine, O Lord, is magnificence, and power, and glory, and victory: and to thee is praise: for all that is in heaven, and in earth, is thine: thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art above all princes.

12 Thine are riches, and thine is glory, thou hast dominion over all, in thy hand is power and might: in thy hand greatness, and the empire of all things.

13 Now therefore our God we give thanks to thee, and we praise thy glorious name.

14 Who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to promise thee all these things? all things are thine: and we have given thee what we received of thy hand.

15 For we are sojourners before thee, and strangers, as were all our fathers. Our days upon earth are as a shadow, and there is no stay.

16 O Lord our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name, is from thy hand, and all things are thine.

17 I know my God that thou provest hearts, and lovest simplicity, wherefore I also in the simplicity of my heart, have joyfully offered all these things: and I have seen with great joy thy people, which are here present, offer thee their offerings.

18 O Lord God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Israel our fathers, keep for ever this will of their heart, and let this mind remain always for the worship of thee.

19 And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, that he may keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy ceremonies, and do all things: and build the house, for which I have provided the charges.

20 And David commanded all the assembly: Bless ye the Lord our God. And all the assembly blessed the Lord the God of their fathers: and they bowed themselves and worshipped God, and then the king.

21 And they sacrificed victims to the Lord: and they offered holocausts the next day, a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their libations, and with every thing prescribed most abundantly for all Israel.

22 And they ate, and drank before the Lord that day with great joy. And they anointed the second time Solomon the son of David. And they anointed him to the Lord to be prince, and Sadoc to be high priest.

23 And Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he pleased all: and all Israel obeyed him.

24 And all the princes, and men of power, and all the sons of king David gave their hand, and were subject to Solomon the king.

25 And the Lord magnified Solomon over all Israel: and gave him the glory of a reign, such as no king of Israel had before him.

26 So David the son of Isai reigned over all Israel.

27 And the days that he reigned over Israel, were forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem three and thirty years.

28 And he died in a good age, full of days, and riches, and glory. And Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

29 Now the acts of king David first and last are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer:

30 And of all his reign, and his valour, and of the times that passed under him, either in Israel, or in all the kingdoms of the countries.

Gifts for Building the Temple

29 Then King David said to the whole assembly: “My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced.(A) The task is great, because this palatial structure is not for man but for the Lord God. 2 With all my resources I have provided for the temple of my God—gold(B) for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise,[a](C) stones of various colors, and all kinds of fine stone and marble—all of these in large quantities.(D) 3 Besides, in my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of my God, over and above everything I have provided(E) for this holy temple: 4 three thousand talents[b] of gold (gold of Ophir)(F) and seven thousand talents[c] of refined silver,(G) for the overlaying of the walls of the buildings, 5 for the gold work and the silver work, and for all the work to be done by the craftsmen. Now, who is willing to consecrate themselves to the Lord today?”

6 Then the leaders of families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials(H) in charge of the king’s work gave willingly.(I) 7 They(J) gave toward the work on the temple of God five thousand talents[d] and ten thousand darics[e] of gold, ten thousand talents[f] of silver, eighteen thousand talents[g] of bronze and a hundred thousand talents[h] of iron. 8 Anyone who had precious stones(K) gave them to the treasury of the temple of the Lord in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite.(L) 9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly(M) to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.

David’s Prayer

10 David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you, Lord,
    the God of our father Israel,
    from everlasting to everlasting.
11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power(N)
    and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
    for everything in heaven and earth is yours.(O)
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
    you are exalted as head over all.(P)
12 Wealth and honor(Q) come from you;
    you are the ruler(R) of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
    to exalt and give strength to all.
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks,
    and praise your glorious name.

14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this?(S) Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.(T) 15 We are foreigners and strangers(U) in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow,(V) without hope. 16 Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. 17 I know, my God, that you test the heart(W) and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.(X) 18 Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you. 19 And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion(Y) to keep your commands, statutes and decrees(Z) and to do everything to build the palatial structure for which I have provided.”(AA)

20 Then David said to the whole assembly, “Praise the Lord your God.” So they all praised the Lord, the God of their fathers; they bowed down, prostrating themselves before the Lord and the king.

Solomon Acknowledged as King(AB)

21 The next day they made sacrifices to the Lord and presented burnt offerings to him:(AC) a thousand bulls, a thousand rams and a thousand male lambs, together with their drink offerings, and other sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.(AD) 22 They ate and drank with great joy(AE) in the presence of the Lord that day.

Then they acknowledged Solomon son of David as king a second time, anointing him before the Lord to be ruler and Zadok(AF) to be priest. 23 So Solomon sat(AG) on the throne(AH) of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him. 24 All the officers and warriors, as well as all of King David’s sons,(AI) pledged their submission to King Solomon.

25 The Lord highly exalted(AJ) Solomon in the sight of all Israel and bestowed on him royal splendor(AK) such as no king over Israel ever had before.(AL)

The Death of David(AM)

26 David son of Jesse was king(AN) over all Israel.(AO) 27 He ruled over Israel forty years—seven in Hebron(AP) and thirty-three in Jerusalem.(AQ) 28 He died(AR) at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honor. His son Solomon succeeded him as king.(AS)

29 As for the events of King David’s reign, from beginning to end, they are written in the records of Samuel the seer,(AT) the records of Nathan(AU) the prophet and the records of Gad(AV) the seer, 30 together with the details of his reign and power, and the circumstances that surrounded him and Israel and the kingdoms of all the other lands.
