1 起初，神创造天地。 2 地是空虚混沌，渊面黑暗，神的灵运行在水面上。 3 神说：“要有光。”就有了光。 4 神看光是好的，就把光暗分开了。 5 神称光为昼，称暗为夜。有晚上，有早晨，这是头一日。
6 神说：“诸水之间要有空气，将水分为上下。” 7 神就造出空气，将空气以下的水、空气以上的水分开了。事就这样成了。 8 神称空气为天。有晚上，有早晨，是第二日。
9 神说：“天下的水要聚在一处，使旱地露出来。”事就这样成了。 10 神称旱地为地，称水的聚处为海。神看着是好的。 11 神说：“地要发生青草和结种子的菜蔬，并结果子的树木，各从其类，果子都包着核。”事就这样成了。 12 于是地发生了青草和结种子的菜蔬，各从其类；并结果子的树木，各从其类，果子都包着核。神看着是好的。 13 有晚上，有早晨，是第三日。
14 神说：“天上要有光体，可以分昼夜，做记号，定节令、日子、年岁， 15 并要发光在天空，普照在地上。”事就这样成了。 16 于是神造了两个大光，大的管昼，小的管夜，又造众星。 17 就把这些光摆列在天空，普照在地上， 18 管理昼夜，分别明暗。神看着是好的。 19 有晚上，有早晨，是第四日。
20 神说：“水要多多滋生有生命的物，要有雀鸟飞在地面以上、天空之中。” 21 神就造出大鱼和水中所滋生各样有生命的动物，各从其类；又造出各样飞鸟，各从其类。神看着是好的。 22 神就赐福给这一切，说：“滋生繁多，充满海中的水，雀鸟也要多生在地上。” 23 有晚上，有早晨，是第五日。
24 神说：“地要生出活物来，各从其类；牲畜、昆虫、野兽，各从其类。”事就这样成了。 25 于是神造出野兽，各从其类；牲畜，各从其类；地上一切昆虫，各从其类。神看着是好的。
照自己之像造人
26 神说：“我们要照着我们的形象，按着我们的样式造人，使他们管理海里的鱼、空中的鸟、地上的牲畜和全地，并地上所爬的一切昆虫。” 27 神就照着自己的形象造人，乃是照着他的形象，造男造女。 28 神就赐福给他们，又对他们说：“要生养众多，遍满地面，治理这地，也要管理海里的鱼、空中的鸟和地上各样行动的活物。” 29 神说：“看哪，我将遍地上一切结种子的菜蔬和一切树上所结有核的果子，全赐给你们做食物。 30 至于地上的走兽和空中的飞鸟，并各样爬在地上有生命的物，我将青草赐给它们做食物。”事就这样成了。 31 神看着一切所造的都甚好。有晚上，有早晨，是第六日。

La creación
1 Dios, en el principio,
creó los cielos y la tierra.
2 La tierra era un caos total,
las tinieblas cubrían el abismo,
y el Espíritu[a] de Dios se movía
sobre la superficie de las aguas.
3 Y dijo Dios: «¡Que exista la luz!»
Y la luz llegó a existir.
4 Dios consideró que la luz era buena
y la separó de las tinieblas.
5 A la luz la llamó «día»,
y a las tinieblas, «noche».
Y vino la noche, y llegó la mañana:
ese fue el primer día.
6 Y dijo Dios: «¡Que exista el firmamento
en medio de las aguas, y que las separe!»
7 Y así sucedió: Dios hizo el firmamento
y separó las aguas que están abajo,
de las aguas que están arriba.
8 Al firmamento Dios lo llamó «cielo».
Y vino la noche, y llegó la mañana:
ese fue el segundo día.
9 Y dijo Dios: «¡Que las aguas debajo del cielo
se reúnan en un solo lugar,
y que aparezca lo seco!»
Y así sucedió. 10 A lo seco Dios lo llamó «tierra»,
y al conjunto de aguas lo llamó «mar».
Y Dios consideró que esto era bueno.
11 Y dijo Dios: «¡Que haya vegetación sobre la tierra;
que esta produzca hierbas que den semilla,
y árboles que den su fruto con semilla,
todos según su especie!»
Y así sucedió. 12 Comenzó a brotar la vegetación:
hierbas que dan semilla,
y árboles que dan su fruto con semilla,
todos según su especie.
Y Dios consideró que esto era bueno.
13 Y vino la noche, y llegó la mañana:
ese fue el tercer día.
14 Y dijo Dios: «¡Que haya luces en el firmamento
que separen el día de la noche;
que sirvan como señales de las estaciones,
de los días y de los años,
15 y que brillen en el firmamento
para iluminar la tierra!»
Y sucedió así. 16 Dios hizo los dos grandes astros:
el astro mayor para gobernar el día,
y el menor para gobernar la noche.
También hizo las estrellas.
17 Dios colocó en el firmamento
los astros para alumbrar la tierra.
18 Los hizo para gobernar el día y la noche,
y para separar la luz de las tinieblas.
Y Dios consideró que esto era bueno.
19 Y vino la noche, y llegó la mañana:
ese fue el cuarto día.
20 Y dijo Dios: «¡Que rebosen de seres vivientes las aguas,
y que vuelen las aves sobre la tierra
a lo largo del firmamento!»
21 Y creó Dios los grandes animales marinos,
y todos los seres vivientes
que se mueven y pululan en las aguas
y todas las aves,
según su especie.
Y Dios consideró que esto era bueno,
22 y los bendijo con estas palabras:
«Sed fructíferos y multiplicaos;
llenad las aguas de los mares.
¡Que las aves se multipliquen sobre la tierra!»
23 Y vino la noche, y llegó la mañana:
ese fue el quinto día.
24 Y dijo Dios: «¡Que produzca la tierra seres vivientes:
animales domésticos, animales salvajes
y reptiles, según su especie!»
Y sucedió así. 25 Dios hizo los animales domésticos,
los animales salvajes y todos los reptiles,
según su especie.
Y Dios consideró que esto era bueno,
26 y dijo: «Hagamos al ser humano
a nuestra imagen y semejanza.
Que tenga dominio sobre los peces del mar,
y sobre las aves del cielo;
sobre los animales domésticos,
sobre los animales salvajes,[b]
y sobre todos los reptiles
que se arrastran por el suelo».
27 Y Dios creó al ser humano a su imagen;
lo creó a imagen de Dios.
Hombre y mujer los creó,
28 y los bendijo con estas palabras:
«Sed fructíferos y multiplicaos;
llenad la tierra y sometedla;
dominad a los peces del mar y a las aves del cielo,
y a todos los reptiles que se arrastran por el suelo».
29 También les dijo: «Yo os doy de la tierra
todas las plantas que producen semilla
y todos los árboles que dan fruto con semilla;
todo esto os servirá de alimento.
30 Y doy la hierba verde como alimento
a todas las fieras de la tierra,
a todas las aves del cielo
y a todos los seres vivientes
que se arrastran por la tierra».
Y así sucedió. 31 Dios miró todo lo que había hecho,
y consideró que era muy bueno.
Y vino la noche, y llegó la mañana:
ese fue el sexto día.

The Beginning
1 In the beginning(A) God created(B) the heavens(C) and the earth.(D) 2 Now the earth was formless(E) and empty,(F) darkness was over the surface of the deep,(G) and the Spirit of God(H) was hovering(I) over the waters.
3 And God said,(J) “Let there be light,” and there was light.(K) 4 God saw that the light was good,(L) and he separated the light from the darkness.(M) 5 God called(N) the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.”(O) And there was evening, and there was morning(P)—the first day.
6 And God said,(Q) “Let there be a vault(R) between the waters(S) to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it.(T) And it was so.(U) 8 God called(V) the vault “sky.”(W) And there was evening, and there was morning(X)—the second day.
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place,(Y) and let dry ground(Z) appear.” And it was so.(AA) 10 God called(AB) the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters(AC) he called “seas.”(AD) And God saw that it was good.(AE)
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation:(AF) seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.(AG)” And it was so.(AH) 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds(AI) and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.(AJ) 13 And there was evening, and there was morning(AK)—the third day.
14 And God said, “Let there be lights(AL) in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night,(AM) and let them serve as signs(AN) to mark sacred times,(AO) and days and years,(AP) 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.(AQ) 16 God made two great lights—the greater light(AR) to govern(AS) the day and the lesser light to govern(AT) the night.(AU) He also made the stars.(AV) 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night,(AW) and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.(AX) 19 And there was evening, and there was morning(AY)—the fourth day.
20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures,(AZ) and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”(BA) 21 So God created(BB) the great creatures of the sea(BC) and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it,(BD) according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind.(BE) And God saw that it was good.(BF) 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”(BG) 23 And there was evening, and there was morning(BH)—the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures(BI) according to their kinds:(BJ) the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.(BK) 25 God made the wild animals(BL) according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds.(BM) And God saw that it was good.(BN)
26 Then God said, “Let us(BO) make mankind(BP) in our image,(BQ) in our likeness,(BR) so that they may rule(BS) over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky,(BT) over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created(BU) mankind(BV) in his own image,(BW)
in the image of God(BX) he created them;
male and female(BY) he created them.(BZ)
28 God blessed them and said to them,(CA) “Be fruitful and increase in number;(CB) fill the earth(CC) and subdue it. Rule over(CD) the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.(CE)”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.(CF) 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life(CG) in it—I give every green plant for food.(CH)” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made,(CI) and it was very good.(CJ) And there was evening, and there was morning(CK)—the sixth day.
