24 过了五天，大祭司亚拿尼亚同几个长老和一个辩士帖土罗下来，向巡抚控告保罗。 2 保罗被提了来，帖土罗就告他说： 3 “腓力斯大人，我们因你得以大享太平，并且这一国的弊病因着你的先见得以更正了，我们随时随地满心感谢不尽。 4 唯恐多说，你嫌烦絮，只求你宽容听我们说几句话。 5 我们看这个人如同瘟疫一般，是鼓动普天下众犹太人生乱的，又是拿撒勒教党里的一个头目。 6 连圣殿他也想要污秽，我们把他捉住了。[a] 8 你自己究问他，就可以知道我们告他的一切事了。” 9 众犹太人也随着告他说：“事情诚然是这样。”
10 巡抚点头叫保罗说话，他就说：“我知道你在这国里断事多年，所以我乐意为自己分诉。 11 你查问就可以知道，从我上耶路撒冷礼拜到今日，不过有十二天。 12 他们并没有看见我在殿里或是在会堂里，或是在城里，和人辩论，耸动众人。 13 他们现在所告我的事并不能对你证实了。 14 但有一件事，我向你承认，就是他们所称为异端的道，我正按着那道侍奉我祖宗的神，又信合乎律法的和先知书上一切所记载的； 15 并且靠着神，盼望死人无论善恶都要复活，就是他们自己也有这个盼望。 16 我因此自己勉励，对神、对人常存无亏的良心。 17 过了几年，我带着周济本国的捐项和供献的物上去。 18 正献的时候，他们看见我在殿里已经洁净了，并没有聚众，也没有吵嚷，唯有几个从亚细亚来的犹太人。 19 他们若有告我的事，就应当到你面前来告我。 20 即或不然，这些人若看出我站在公会前有妄为的地方，他们自己也可以说明。 21 纵然有，也不过一句话，就是我站在他们中间大声说：‘我今日在你们面前受审，是为死人复活的道理。’”

Paul Before Felix at Caesarea
24 And (A)after five days the high priest (B)Ananias came down with some elders and a spokesman, one Tertullus. They laid before (C)the governor their case against Paul. 2 And when he had been summoned, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying:
“Since through you we enjoy much peace, and since by your foresight, (D)most excellent Felix, reforms are being made for this nation, 3 in every way and everywhere we accept this with all gratitude. 4 But, to detain[a] you no further, I beg you in your kindness to hear us briefly. 5 For we have found this man a plague, (E)one who stirs up riots among all the Jews throughout the world and is a ringleader of (F)the sect of the Nazarenes. 6 (G)He even tried to profane the temple, but we seized him.[b] 8 By examining him yourself you will be able to find out from him about everything of which we accuse him.”
9 The Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that all these things were so.
10 And when the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul replied:
“Knowing that for many years you have been a judge over this nation, I cheerfully make my defense. 11 You can verify that (H)it is not more than twelve days since I (I)went up (J)to worship in Jerusalem, 12 and (K)they did not find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the temple or in the synagogues or in the city. 13 (L)Neither can they prove to you what they now bring up against me. 14 But this I confess to you, that according to (M)the Way, which they call (N)a sect, (O)I worship (P)the God of our fathers, believing everything (Q)laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets, 15 (R)having (S)a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be (T)a resurrection (U)of both the just and the unjust. 16 So I always (V)take pains to have a (W)clear conscience toward both God and man. 17 Now (X)after several years (Y)I came to bring alms to (Z)my nation and to present (AA)offerings. 18 While I was doing this, they found me (AB)purified in the temple, without any crowd or tumult. But (AC)some Jews from Asia— 19 (AD)they ought to be here before you and to make an accusation, should they have anything against me. 20 Or else let these men themselves say what wrongdoing they found when I stood before the council, 21 other than this one thing (AE)that I cried out while standing among them: ‘It is with respect to the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you this day.’”
Paul Kept in Custody
22 But Felix, having a rather accurate knowledge of (AF)the Way, put them off, saying, “When Lysias the tribune comes down, I will decide your case.” 23 Then he gave orders to the centurion that he (AG)should be kept in custody but have some liberty, and that (AH)none of his friends should be prevented from attending to his needs.
24 After some days Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about (AI)faith (AJ)in Christ Jesus. 25 And as he reasoned (AK)about righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, “Go away for the present. (AL)When I get an opportunity I will summon you.” 26 At the same time he hoped (AM)that money would be given him by Paul. So he sent for him often and conversed with him. 27 When two years had elapsed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius (AN)Festus. And (AO)desiring to do the Jews a favor, (AP)Felix left Paul in prison.

24 ମହାଯାଜକ ହନାନିୟ ପାଞ୍ଚ ଦିନ ପରେ କେତକ ଯିହୂଦୀୟ ନେତା ଓ ତର୍ତ୍ତୁଲ୍ଲ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ଓକିଲଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ କାଇସରୀଆରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲେ। ସେଠାରେ ସେମାନେ ରାଜ୍ୟପାଳଙ୍କ ସାମନାରେ ପାଉଲଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କଲେ। 2 ତେଣୁ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ଡକା ହେଲା। ତର୍ତ୍ତୁଲ୍ଲ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରି କହିଲେ,
“ହେ ମହାମାନ୍ୟ ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ! ଆମ୍ଭ ଲୋକମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସକାଶେ ବହୁତ ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ଜୀବନଯାପନ କରୁଛନ୍ତି, ତେଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଧନ୍ୟବାଦ ଜଣାଉଅଛୁ। ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦୂରଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଯୋଗୁଁ ଏ ଜାତି ନିମନ୍ତେ ବହୁତ ଉନ୍ନତିକର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହୋଇ ପାରୁଛି। 3 ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସବୁ ପ୍ରକାର ଓ ସର୍ବଦା ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ କୃତଜ୍ଞ। 4 ଏବେ ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ଅଧିକ ସମୟ ନଷ୍ଟ କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା ନ କରି, ସଂକ୍ଷେପରେ ଆମ୍ଭ କଥା କହିବି। ତେଣୁ ଆପଣ ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଧରି ଆମ୍ଭ କଥା ଶୁଣନ୍ତୁ। 5 ଏ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଜଣେ ଗଣ୍ଡଗୋଳକାରୀ। ସେ ସାରା ପୃଥିବୀର ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରୁଛି ଓ ଆନ୍ଦୋଳନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମତାଉଛି। ସେ ନାଜରିତୀୟ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟର ଜଣେ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ନେତା। 6 ଏପରିକି ସେ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଅପବିତ୍ର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଥିଲା। 7 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେତିକିବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାକୁ ଧରିନେଲୁ। 8 [a] ଆପଣ ନିଜେ ତାକୁ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରି ତାହାଠାରୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କରିଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ଅଭିଯୋଗର ସତ୍ୟାସତ୍ୟ ଜାଣି ପାରିବେ।” 9 ତା'ପରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ଏହି ଅଭିଯୋଗ ସତ୍ୟ ବୋଲି କହିଲେ।
ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ ଆଗରେ ଗଲେ ନିଜକୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇଲେ
10 ରାଜ୍ୟପାଳ ଯେତେବେଳେ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ କହିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ପାଉଲ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଇ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ ଯେ ଆପଣ ଅନେକ ବର୍ଷ ଧରି ଏ ଜାତିର ବିଗ୍ଭରକର୍ତ୍ତା ଭାବରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଆସୁଛନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୁଁ ଆନନ୍ଦରେ ମୋର ପକ୍ଷସମର୍ଥନ କରୁଅଛ। 11 ଆପଣ ନିଜେ ଜାଣି ପାରିବେ ଯେ ମୁଁ କେବଳ ଉପାସନା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମାତ୍ର ବାରଦିନ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଯିରୁଶାଲମରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଥିଲି। 12 ସେମାନେ ମୋତେ ମନ୍ଦିରରେ ବା କୌଣସି ସମାଜଗୃହରେ ବା ସହରରେ କାହାରି ସହ ଯୁକ୍ତିତର୍କ କରିବା ବା ଭିଡ଼ ଜମେଇବାର ଦେଖି ନାହାନ୍ତି। 13 ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ମୋ’ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯେଉଁ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରୁଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାର ପ୍ରମାଣ ସେମାନେ ଦେଇ ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ।
14 “କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ଗୋଟିଏ କଥା ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ କହୁଛି, ଏମାନେ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ‘ଦଳ’ ବୋଲି କହନ୍ତି, ସେହି ମତାନୁଯାୟୀ ମୁଁ ମୋର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଉପାସନା କରେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଯାହାସବୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦିଏ, ଓ ଭାବବାଦୀ ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଯାହାସବୁ ଲେଖାଅଛି, ସେ ସବୁ ମୁଁ ଦୃଢ଼ ରୂପେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରେ। 15 ଏହି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ଭଳି, ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ଏହି ଭରସା ରଖିଛି ଯେ, ଉଭୟ ଉତ୍ତମ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥାନ ହେବ। 16 ସେଥିପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଓ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଯାହା ଠିକ୍ ବୋଲି ଅନୁଭବ କରେ, ତାହା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସର୍ବଦା ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରେ।
17 “ମୁଁ ବହୁତ ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯିରୁଶାଲମରୁ ଦୂରରେ ଥିଲି। ତା'ପରେ ମୋ’ ଦରିଦ୍ର ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅର୍ଥ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଦାନ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଯିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଫେରିଲି। 18 ମୁଁ ମନ୍ଦିରରେ ନିଜକୁ ଶୁଚି କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲି। ଶୁଚିକରଣ ଉତ୍ସବ ସରିଗଲାପରେ କେତେକ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ସେଠାରେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖିଲେ। ମୁଁ ସେଠାରେ କୌଣସି ଗଣ୍ଡଗୋଳ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରି ନାହିଁ କି ମୋ’ ସହିତ କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ମଧ୍ୟ ନ ଥିଲେ। 19 ସେ ସମୟରେ ଏସିଆର କେତେକ ଯିହୂଦୀ ସେଠାରେ ଥିଲେ। ଯଦି ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମୋ’ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କିଛି ଆପତ୍ତି ଥାଏ ତେବେ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବା ଉଚିତ୍, 20 ନଚେତ୍ ଆପଣ ଏଠାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଥିବା ଯିହୂଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଗ୍ଭରନ୍ତୁ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପରିଷଦ ସଭାରେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୁଁ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଠିଆହେଲି, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ମୋ'ଠାରେ କ’ଣ ସବୁ ଦୋଷ ଦେଖିଲେ? 21 ମୁଁ କେବଳ ଗୋଟିଏ କଥା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ଜୋର୍ରେ କହିଥିଲି ଯେ, ‘ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥାନ ହେବ ବୋଲି ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଥିବାରୁ ମୋର ଆଜି ସଭା ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ବିଗ୍ଭର ହେଉଛି।’”
22 ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ମାର୍ଗ ବିଷୟରେ ଭଲ ଭାବରେ ଜାଣିଥିବାରୁ ଶୁଣାଣି ସ୍ଥଗିତ ରଖିଲେ। ସେ କହିଲେ, “ସେନାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଲୂସିୟା ଆସିବା ପରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିଗ୍ଭର କରିବି।” 23 ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ଶତସେନାପତିଙ୍କ ଜିମାରେ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ନଜରବନ୍ଦୀରେ ରଖି କିଛି ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ। ପାଉଲଙ୍କ ବନ୍ଧୁମାନେ ଯଦି ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ କୌଣସି ଆବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଜିନିଷ ନେଇ ଆସନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାଧା ନ ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ସେହି ଶତସେନାପତିଙ୍କୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ।
ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ସହିତ ପାଉଲଙ୍କର କଥା
24 କିଛି ଦିନ ପରେ ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଦ୍ରୁସିଲ୍ଲାଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ଆସିଲେ। ସେ ଯିହୂଦୀ ଥିଲେ। ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ଡକାଇ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ବିଷୟରେ ଶୁଣିଲେ। 25 କିନ୍ତୁ ପାଉଲ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ଜୀବନ, ଆତ୍ମସଂଯମ ଓ ଆଗାମୀ ବିଗ୍ଭର ବିଷୟରେ କହିଲେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ଭୟଭୀତ ହୋଇଗଲେ। ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ କହିଲେ, “ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଅ। ମୋର ସମୟ ହେଲେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଡାକିବି।” 26 କିନ୍ତୁ ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ପାଉଲଙ୍କ ସହିତ କଥା ହେବାର ଆଉ ଗୋଟିଏ କାରଣ ଥିଲା। ସେ ଆଶା କରିଥିଲେ ଯେ ପାଉଲ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଟଙ୍କା ଲାଞ୍ଚ ଦେବେ। ତେଣୁ ସେ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ଅନେକଥର ଡକାଇ କଥା ହେଉଥିଲେ।
27 କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହିପରି ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷ ବିତିଗଲାପରେ ପର୍କିୟ ଫେଷ୍ଟ ରାଜ୍ୟପାଳ ହେଲେ। ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ଆଉ ରାଜ୍ୟପାଳ ପଦରେ ରହିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ତେଣୁ ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ ଯିହୂଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ କାରାଗାରରେ ରଖି ଗ୍ଭଲିଗଲେ।
