ஆசாபின் துதிப் பாடல்களுள் ஒன்று.
83 தேவனே, அமைதியாய் இராதேயும்!
உமது செவிகளை மூடிக்கொள்ளாதேயும்!
தேவனே தயவாய் எதையாவது பேசும்.
2 தேவனே, உமது பகைவர்கள் உமக்கெதிராகத் திட்டங்கள் வகுக்கிறார்கள்.
உமது பகைவர்கள் உடனே தாக்குதல் ஆரம்பிக்கக்கூடும்.
3 உமது ஜனங்களுக்கு எதிராக அவர்கள் இரகசிய திட்டஙகளை வகுக்கிறார்கள்.
நீர் நேசிக்கும் ஜனங்களுக்கு எதிராக உமது பகைவர்கள் திட்டங்களை கலந்து ஆலோசிக்கிறார்கள்.
4 பகைவர்கள் இவ்வாறு சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்: “வாருங்கள், நாம் பகைவர்களை முற்றிலும் அழிப்போம்.
பின்பு ஒருநாளும் ஒருவனும் ‘இஸ்ரவேல்’ என்னும் பெயரை நினைவு கூரமாட்டான்.”
5 தேவனே, அந்த ஜனங்கள் எல்லோரும் உமக்கும்
நீர் எங்களோடு செய்த உமது உடன்படிக்கைக்கும் எதிராகப் போராட ஒருமித்துக் கூடினார்கள்.
6-7 அப்பகைவர்கள் எங்களை எதிர்க்க ஒருமித்துச் சேர்ந்தார்கள்.
இஸ்மவேலராகிய ஏதோமியரும், மோவாபியரும், ஆகாரின் சந்ததியினரும், கேபாலரும், அம்மோனியரும், அமலேக்கியரும், பெலிஸ்தரும், தீருவில் வசிக்கும் ஜனங்களும், ஆகிய எல்லோரும் எங்களை எதிர்க்க ஒருமித்துக் கூடினார்கள்.
8 அசீரியரும்கூட அந்த ஜனங்களோடு சேர்ந்தார்கள்.
லோத்தின் சந்ததியினர் மிகுந்த வல்லமை பெறும்படிச் செய்தார்கள்.
9 தேவனே, மீதியானியரைத் தோற்கடித்ததைப் போலவும்
கீசோன் நதியருகே சிசெரா மற்றும் யாபீன் ஜனங்களைத் தோற்கடித்ததைப்போலவும் பகைவனைத் தோற்கடியும்.
10 நீர் அவர்களை எந்தோரில் தோற்கடித்தீர்.
அவர்கள் சரீரங்கள் நிலத்தில் விழுந்து அழிந்தன.
11 தேவனே, பகைவனின் தலைவர்களைத் தோற்கடியும்.
ஓரேபுக்கும் சேபுக்கும் செய்தபடியே செய்யும்.
சேபாவுக்கும் சல்முனாவுக்கும் செய்தபடியே செய்யும்.
12 தேவனே, அந்த ஜனங்கள்
உமது தேசத்தை விட்டுப் போகும்படியாக எங்களை வற்புறுத்த விரும்பினார்கள்!
13 தேவனே, அந்த ஜனங்களைக் காற்றில் பறக்கும் பதராகப் பண்ணும்.
காற்றுப் பறக்கடிக்கும் புல்லைப்போல் அந்த ஜனங்களைச் சிதறடியும்.
14 நெருப்பு காட்டை அழிப்பதைப்போலவும்
பெருநெருப்பு மலைகளைச் சுடுவது போலவும் பகைவனை அழித்துப்போடும்.
15 தேவனே, புயலில் அலைக்கழிக்கப்படும் துகளைப்போல அந்த ஜனங்களை துரத்திவிடும்.
அவர்களை அசையும், அவர்களைப் பெருங்காற்றைப்போல நின்று பறக்கடியும்.
16 தேவனே அவர்கள் உண்மையிலேயே சோர்வுடையவர்கள் என்பதை அந்த ஜனங்கள் அறியும்படி அவர்களுக்குப் போதியும்.
அப்போது அவர்கள் உமது நாமத்தை தொழுதுகொள்ள விரும்புவார்கள்!
17 தேவனே, அந்த ஜனங்களை அச்சுறுத்தி, அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் வெட்கமடையச் செய்யும்.
அவர்களை இழிவுப்படுத்தி, அழித்துப்போடும்.
18 அப்போது நீரே தேவனென்று அவர்கள் அறிவார்கள்.
உமது நாமம் யேகோவா என்பதையும் அவர்கள் அறிவார்கள்.
மிக உன்னதமான தேனாகிய நீர்
உலகம் முழுவதற்கும் தேவன் என்பதையும் அவர்கள் அறிவார்கள்.

祈求上帝擊敗仇敵
亞薩的詩。
83 上帝啊，求你不要緘默無聲，
一言不發。
2 看啊，你的敵人在喧嚷，
恨你的人趾高氣揚。
3 他們用詭計害你的子民，
他們一起謀害你所疼愛的人。
4 他們說：
「來吧，讓我們剷除以色列，
讓他們亡國，被人遺忘。」
5 他們串通一氣，
勾結起來抵擋你。
6 他們是以東人、以實瑪利人、摩押人、夏甲人、
7 迦巴勒人、亞捫人、亞瑪力人、非利士人和泰爾人。
8 亞述也跟他們勾結，
要助羅得的後代一臂之力。（細拉）
9 求你對付他們，
如同對付米甸人和基順河邊的西西拉與耶賓。
10 他們在隱·多珥滅亡，
成了地上的糞土。
11 求你使他們的首領得到俄立和西伊伯那樣的下場，
使他們的王侯得到西巴和撒慕拿那樣的下場。
12 他們曾說：
「讓我們奪取上帝的草場吧。」
13 我的上帝啊，求你把他們驅散，
如同狂風吹散塵土和碎稭。

1 O God, do not remain silent;(A)
do not turn a deaf ear,
do not stand aloof, O God.
2 See how your enemies growl,(B)
how your foes rear their heads.(C)
3 With cunning they conspire(D) against your people;
they plot against those you cherish.(E)
4 “Come,” they say, “let us destroy(F) them as a nation,(G)
so that Israel’s name is remembered(H) no more.”
5 With one mind they plot together;(I)
they form an alliance against you—
6 the tents of Edom(J) and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab(K) and the Hagrites,(L)
7 Byblos,(M) Ammon(N) and Amalek,(O)
Philistia,(P) with the people of Tyre.(Q)
8 Even Assyria(R) has joined them
to reinforce Lot’s descendants.[b](S)
9 Do to them as you did to Midian,(T)
as you did to Sisera(U) and Jabin(V) at the river Kishon,(W)
10 who perished at Endor(X)
and became like dung(Y) on the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,(Z)
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,(AA)
12 who said, “Let us take possession(AB)
of the pasturelands of God.”

83 Do not keep silent, O God. Do not be still, and do not cease, O God.
2 For lo, Your enemies murmur and those who hate You have lifted up the head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people and have consulted against Your treasured ones.
4 They have said, “Come and let us cut them off from being a nation. And let the name of Israel be in remembrance no more.”
5 For they have consulted together in heart and have made a league against You:
6 the tabernacles of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites,
7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre.
8 Assyria has also joined with them. They have been an arm to the children of Lot. Selah.
9 Do to them as to the Midianites, as to Sisera and as to Jabin at the river of Kishon.
10 They perished at En Dor and were dung for the Earth.
11 Make them—even their princes like Oreb and like Zeeb (indeed, all their princes like Zebah and like Zalmunna
12 who have said, “Let us take for our possession the habitations of God)—
13 O, my God, make them like a wheel and as the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burns the forest, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire,
15 so persecute them with Your tempest and make them afraid with Your storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame, so that they may seek Your Name, O LORD.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled forever. Indeed, let them be put to shame and perish,
18 so that they may know that You, Who are called JEHOVAH, are alone, the Most High over all the Earth. To him who excels upon Gittith: A Psalm committed to the sons of Korah
