Исус ги критикува верските водачи

(Мк. 12:38-39; Лк. 11:43,46; 20:45-46) 23 Потоа Исус им се обрати на луѓето и на Своите ученици: 2 „Вероучителите и фарисеите се овластени да ве поучуваат од Мојсеевиот Закон. 3 Затоа, извршувајте го и слушајте го она што тие го проповедаат; но не угледувајте се на нив, бидејќи тие не го практикуваат тоа што го проповедаат. 4 Тие им товарат на луѓето тешки товари кои одвај можат да се носат, а самите ни со прст не помагаат. 5 Се што прават тие, го прават за да се покажат пред луѓето: со себе носат дебели молитвеници, си пришиваат долги реси на своите мантии, 6 ги сакаат почесните места на гозбите и челните места по храмовите[a]; 7 сакаат да бидат поздравувани на јавни места и нарекувани со почесни титули[b]. 8 А вие немојте да се нарекувате со почесни титули[c], бидејќи само Еден е Тој што заслужува почесна титула, а сите вие сте браќа. 9 И на никого на Земјава не обрнувајте му се со „Оче“, зашто имате само еден Отец, а тоа е Бог на небото. 10 Не треба да се нарекувате ни водачи, зашто имате само еден Водач, а тоа е Месијата[d]. 11 Најголемиот меѓу вас нека ви биде слуга, 12 зашто, кој се возвишува, ќе биде понижен, а кој се понизува, ќе биде возвишен.“

Осуда на свештеничкото лицемерство

13 „Тешко вам, вероучители и фарисеи[e], лицемери ниедни! Вие пред носот на луѓето им ги затворате вратите на небесното царство: ниту вие влегувате, ниту ги пуштате да влезат оние кои се обидуваат!

14 (Тешко вам, вероучители и фарисеи, лицемери ниедни! Вие ги искористувате вдовиците и ги ограбувате нивните домови, а потоа редите долги молитви! Затоа вие ќе бидете посурово казнети!)[f]

15 Тешко вам, вероучители и фарисеи, лицемери ниедни! Океани и земји обиколувате за да придобиете еден следбеник, а кога ќе го придобиете го претворате во син на пеколот, двапати полош од вас!

16 Тешко вам, слепи водачи, кои велите: ,Ако некој се заколне во Божјиот храм, тоа на ништо не го обврзува, но ако се заколне во црковното злато, тогаш, тоа го обврзува!‘ 17 Безумници и слепци ниедни! Што е поважно: златото или храмот што го прави златото да биде свето!? 18 И ова го велите: ,Ако некој се заколне во олтарот, тоа на ништо не го обврзува, а ако се заколне во жртвениот прилог на олтарот, тогаш, тоа го обврзува!‘ 19 Слепци ниедни! Што е поважно: жртвениот прилог на олтарот или олтарот што го прави прилогот да биде свет!? 20 Тој што се заколнува во олтарот, се заколнува во него и во се што е на него! 21 Тој што се заколнува во храмот, се заколнува во него и во Бога Кој е присутен во него! 22 Тој што се заколнува во небото, се заколнува во Божјиот престол и во Бога, Кој седи на него!

23 Тешко вам, вероучители и фарисеи, лицемери ниедни! Вие давате десеток од зачините, како што се нането, копрата и кимот, а ги запоставувате најважните барања на Божјиот Закон: праведноста, милоста и верата! Да, десеток треба да давате, но не смеете да ги запоставувате најважните работи. 24 Слепи водачи ниедни! Комарец цедите, а камила голтате!

25 Тешко вам, вероучители и фарисеи, лицемери ниедни! Чашите и чиниите однадвор ги миете, а однатре се полни со она што сте го зеле преку грабеж и себично лакомство! 26 Слеп фарисеју! Прво нека биде чисто тоа што е во чашата, па ќе и биде чиста и надворешноста!

27 Тешко вам, вероучители и фарисеи, лицемери ниедни! Вие сте како варосани гробови кои однадвор изгледаат убаво, а внатре се полни со коски на мртовци и со изгниени трупови! 28 На луѓето им се прикажувате како праведници, а однатре сте полни со лицемерство и гревови!“

Лицемерните свештеници ќе бидат казнети

(Лк. 11:47-51; 13:34-35) 29 „Тешко вам, вероучители и фарисеи, лицемери ниедни! Вие им ѕидате гробници на пророците и ги украсувате спомениците на праведниците, 30 и велите: ,Да живеевме во времето на нашите предци, ние немаше да соучествуваме во убивањето на пророците!‘ 31 Така самите признавате дека сте им потомци на оние што ги убиваа пророците! 32 Затоа, ајде, довршете го делото на вашите предци! 33 Змии ниедни и змиски рожби! Како ќе ја избегнете пресудата за во пеколот[g]!? 34 Затоа, еве, испраќам меѓу вас пророци и мудри луѓе и вероучители, а вие некои од нив ќе убиете, на крст ќе ги распнете, а некои ќе ги камшикувате по синагогите и ќе ги прогонувате од еден град во друг. 35 Така, врз вас ќе падне казната за сите невини жртви на Земјата, од убиството на праведниот Авел до убиството на Захарија, синот на Берекија, кого го убивте меѓу храмот и жртвеникот! 36 Ве уверувам дека казната за сите овие убиства ќе падне врз оваа генерација!

37 Ерусалиме, Ерусалиме, што ги убиваш пророците и ги каменуваш Божјите пратеници испратени во тебе! Колкупати сакав да ги закрилам твоите жители како квачката што ги собира пилињата свои под крилјата, но вие не сакавте! 38 Затоа, вашиот храм[h] ќе ви се препушти вам и ќе запусти. 39 Ви кажувам дека отсега нема да Ме видите се додека не речете: ,Благословен да биде Оној што доаѓа во името на Господ[i]!‘“

A Warning Against Hypocrisy(A)(B)

23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law(C) and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.(D)

5 “Everything they do is done for people to see:(E) They make their phylacteries[a](F) wide and the tassels on their garments(G) long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;(H) 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.(I)

8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father,(J) and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant.(K) 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.(L)

Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees

13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!(M) You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.(N) [14] [b]

15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert,(O) and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell(P) as you are.

16 “Woe to you, blind guides!(Q) You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’(R) 17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?(S) 18 You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ 19 You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred?(T) 20 Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells(U) in it. 22 And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.(V)

23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth(W) of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness.(X) You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24 You blind guides!(Y) You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish,(Z) but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.(AA) 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs,(AB) which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

29 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets(AC) and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.(AD) 32 Go ahead, then, and complete(AE) what your ancestors started!(AF)

33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers!(AG) How will you escape being condemned to hell?(AH) 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify;(AI) others you will flog in your synagogues(AJ) and pursue from town to town.(AK) 35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel(AL) to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah,(AM) whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.(AN) 36 Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.(AO)

37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you,(AP) how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,(AQ) and you were not willing. 38 Look, your house is left to you desolate.(AR) 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[c]”(AS)

23 Después Jesús les dijo a la gente y a sus seguidores: 2 «Los maestros de la ley y los fariseos tienen la autoridad de explicar la ley de Moisés. 3 Así que hagan caso de todo lo que ellos les dicen, pero no sigan su ejemplo porque ellos no hacen lo que ellos mismos dicen. 4 Ellos cargan a la gente con reglas estrictas y difíciles de cumplir. Los obligan a cumplirlas, pero ellos ni siquiera quieren mover un dedo para ayudarles a obedecer las reglas.

5 »Ellos hacen cosas buenas sólo para figurar como más importantes que los demás. Llevan en la frente cajitas[a] de cuero con porciones de las Escrituras. Hacen esas cajitas cada vez más grandes y agrandan también los flecos[b] de sus mantos. 6 Les gustan los lugares más importantes en las fiestas y buscan los lugares de honor en las sinagogas. 7 También les gusta que la gente los salude con respeto en las plazas y que los llamen “maestro”[c].

8 »Pero ustedes no dejen que nadie los llame “maestro”. Ustedes solamente tienen un Maestro y todos ustedes son iguales como hermanos y hermanas. 9 Aquí en la tierra no le digan a nadie “padre”. Ustedes sólo tienen un Padre que está en el cielo. 10 Tampoco dejen que les llamen “líder”, pues ustedes solamente tienen un Líder, quien es el Mesías. 11 El más importante entre ustedes será el que les sirva, 12 porque el que se crea más que los demás será humillado, y el que se humille será hecho importante.

13 »¡Pobres de ustedes, maestros de la ley y fariseos! ¡Hipócritas! Ustedes le cierran las puertas del reino de Dios a la gente; ni entran ustedes ni dejan entrar a los que tratan de hacerlo. 14 [d]

15 »¡Pobres de ustedes, maestros de la ley y fariseos! ¡Hipócritas! Ustedes viajan por tierra y mar para convertir a alguno en fariseo. Cuando lo logran, lo vuelven peor que ustedes y más merecedor de ir al infierno que ustedes mismos.

16 »¡Pobres de ustedes! ¡Guías ciegos! Ustedes dicen: “Si alguien jura por el templo no está obligado a mantener su juramento; pero si alguien jura por el oro que hay en el templo, entonces está obligado a cumplir el juramento”. 17 ¡Ciegos! ¿Qué es más importante? ¿El oro del templo o el templo que hace sagrado ese oro?

18 »Ustedes también dicen: “Si alguien jura por el altar[e], no tiene que cumplir su juramento; pero si jura por la ofrenda que está en el altar entonces tiene que cumplirlo”. 19 ¡Ciegos! ¿Qué es más importante? ¿La ofrenda que hay en el altar o el altar que hace que la ofrenda quede consagrada? 20 De esta forma, si alguien jura por el altar, está jurando por él y por todo lo que hay en él. 21 Si alguien jura por el templo, está jurando por él y por aquel que está allí. 22 Y si alguien jura por el cielo, está jurando por el trono de Dios y por Dios mismo que está sentado en él.

23 »¡Pobres de ustedes maestros de la ley y fariseos! ¡Hipócritas! Ustedes dan a Dios la décima parte de todo lo que cosechan, incluso de la menta, del anís y del comino.[f] Pero se olvidan de las enseñanzas más importantes de la ley: la justicia, la misericordia y la fidelidad a Dios. Eso es lo que deberían hacer sin dejar de hacer lo otro. 24 ¡Ustedes son guías ciegos! Son como el que saca un mosquito de su bebida y luego se traga un camello.

25 »¡Pobres de ustedes maestros de la ley y fariseos! ¡Hipócritas! Ustedes son como los vasos y los tazones que se lavan sólo por fuera. Por dentro, siguen llenos de codicia y egoísmo. 26 Fariseos ciegos, limpien el vaso primero por dentro para que quede limpio por dentro y por fuera.

27 »¡Pobres de ustedes, maestros de la ley y fariseos! ¡Hipócritas! Ustedes son como los sepulcros pintados de blanco. Se ven muy bonitos por fuera, pero por dentro están llenos de huesos de muertos y toda clase de suciedad. 28 Lo mismo pasa con ustedes, parecen buenos pero por dentro están llenos de hipocresía y de maldad.

29 »¡Pobres de ustedes, maestros de la ley y fariseos, hipócritas! Porque edifican y adornan grandes sepulcros para los profetas justos. 30 Ustedes dicen: “Si hubiéramos vivido en el tiempo de nuestros antepasados, no hubiéramos sido sus cómplices en el asesinato de los profetas”. 31 Por lo tanto, están reconociendo que ustedes son descendientes de los que mataron a los profetas. 32 ¡Entonces sigan y terminen lo que sus padres empezaron!

33 »¡Serpientes! ¡Partida[g] de víboras! ¿Cómo creen que se van a salvar de ser echados al infierno? 34 Por eso les digo esto: les enviaré profetas, hombres sabios y maestros. Ustedes matarán a unos de ellos y los colgarán en la cruz. A otros los golpearán en sus sinagogas y los perseguirán de pueblo en pueblo. 35 Como resultado, ustedes pagarán por la muerte de todos los justos del mundo que han sido asesinados desde el asesinato de Abel, quien hacía la voluntad de Dios, hasta el asesinato de Zacarías,[h] hijo de Berequías. A Zacarías ustedes lo asesinaron entre el santuario del templo y el altar. 36 Les digo la verdad: Esta generación será castigada por todo esto.

Jesús advierte al pueblo de Jerusalén

(Lc 13:34-35)

37 »¡Jerusalén, Jerusalén, la que mata a los profetas y apedrea a los mensajeros que Dios le envía! ¡Cuántas veces quise juntar a tus hijos, así como la gallina junta a sus pollitos bajo sus alas, pero ustedes no quisieron! 38 Ahora su casa quedará completamente vacía 39 (A)y les digo: no me verán más sino hasta que digan ustedes: “¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor!”[i]»
