Предсмъртни слова на Моисей
31 След това Моисей, като изговори тези думи на целия Израил, прибави следното:
2 (A)Сега аз съм на сто и двадесет години; не мога вече да ви водя[a]; и Господ ми е казал: Няма да преминеш през Йордан.
3 (B)Господ, твоят Бог, Той ще върви пред тебе; Той ще изтреби тези племена пред теб и ти ще ги завладееш; и Исус, той ще върви пред тебе, както Господ е казал.
4 (C)И Господ ще им направи така, както направи на аморейските царе Сион и Ог, които изтреби, и на земята им.
5 (D)Господ ще ги предаде на вас; и вие да постъпите с тях според всичките заповеди, които съм ви заповядал.
6 (E)Бъдете силни и храбри, не бойте се, нито треперете от тях; защото Господ, твоят Бог, Той е, Който върви пред тебе; няма да отстъпи от тебе, нито ще те изостави.
7 (F)Тогава Моисей повика Исус и му каза пред целия Израил: Бъди силен и смел, защото ти ще въведеш този народ в земята, за която Господ се е клел на бащите им, че ще им я даде, и ти ще им я разделиш за наследство.
8 (G)Господ, Той е, Който ходи пред тебе, Той ще бъде с тебе; няма да се оттегли, нито ще те изостави; не се бой!
9 (H)А Моисей написа този закон и го предаде на свещениците, Левиевите потомци, които носеха ковчега за плочите на Господния завет, и на всички Израилеви старейшини.
10 (I)Моисей им заповяда: В края на всяка седма година, в годината, определена за опрощаването, в празника на шатроразпъването,
11 (J)когато целият Израил се събира пред Господа, твоя Бог, на мястото, което Той избере, да прочиташ този закон пред целия Израил на всеослушание.
12 (K)Събирай народа – мъжете, жените, децата и чужденеца, който е вътре в градовете ти, за да чуят и се научат, за да се боят от Господа, вашия Бог, и старателно да изпълняват всички думи на този закон;
13 (L)да чуят и синовете им, които не знаят, за да се научат да се боят от Господа, вашия Бог, докато живеете в земята, към която преминавате през Йордан, за да я завладеете.
14 (M)Тогава Господ каза на Моисей: Ето, наближава краят на дните ти и ще умреш; повикай Исус и се представете в шатъра за срещане, за да му дам Своите наставления. И така, Моисей и Исус отидоха и се представиха в шатъра за срещане.
15 (N)И Господ се яви в шатъра в облачен стълб; и облачният стълб застана до входа на шатъра.
16 (O)Господ каза на Моисей: Ето, ти ще заспиш с бащите си; а този народ ще започне да блудства след чуждите богове на земята, където отиват да живеят между тях, а ще изоставят Мен и ще престъпват завета, който сключих с тях.
17 (P)И в онзи ден гневът Ми ще пламне против тях и Аз ще ги изоставя, и ще отвърна лицето Си от тях; и ще бъдат изтребвани и много злини и скърби ще ги постигнат; те ще кажат в онзи ден: Не ни ли постигнаха тези злини, понеже нашият Бог не е с нас?
18 (Q)В онзи ден Аз непременно ще скрия от тях лицето Си заради всички злини, които са извършили, като се обърнат към чужди богове.
19 (R)А сега запишете си тази песен и научете израилтяните на нея; вложете я в устата им, така че тази песен да Ми бъде за свидетелство против израилтяните.
20 (S)Защото, като ги въведа в земята, за която съм се клел на бащите им, земя, където текат мляко и мед, и те ядат до насита, тогава ще се обърнат към чужди богове и ще им служат, а Мене ще отхвърлят с презрение и ще нарушават завета с Мен.
21 (T)И като ги постигнат много злини и скърби, тази песен ще говори против тях като свидетел, защото няма да се забрави от устата на потомството им; понеже Аз знам мислите им още сега, преди да съм се заклел.
22 И така, Моисей записа тази песен в същия ден и научи израилтяните на нея.
23 (U)А Господ заръча на Исус, сина на Навин: Бъди силен и смел, защото ти ще въведеш израилтяните в земята, за която съм им се клел; и Аз ще бъда с теб.
24 (V)А когато Моисей написа думите на този закон до край,
25 тогава Моисей заповяда на левитите, които носеха ковчега за плочите на Господния завет:
26 (W)Вземете тази книга на закона и я сложете край ковчега за плочите на завета на Господа, вашия Бог; и там ще бъде за свидетелство против тебе.
27 (X)Защото аз знам непокорството ти и твърдоглавието ти. Приживе на мене вие бяхте непокорни на Господа; а колко повече ще бъдете, след като умра!
28 (Y)Съберете при мене всичките старейшини на племената си и първенците си, за да кажа тези думи на всеослушание и да призова небето и земята за свидетели против тях.
29 (Z)Понеже знам, че след смъртта ми непременно ще се развратите и отклоните от пътя, за който ви заповядах; и в следващите дни ще ви застигнат злини, понеже ще вършите зло пред Господа и ще Го разгневявате с делата си.
30 Тогава Моисей изговори от край до край, на всеослушание пред цялото общество на Израил, думите на тази песен:

31 След това Мойсей излезе пред цял Израил и като изрече тези думи, 2 (A)добави: „Сега съм на сто и двадесет години, не мога вече да ви водя; а и Господ ми каза: ‘Ти няма да преминеш през Йордан.’ 3 (B)Господ, твоят Бог, Сам ще тръгне пред тебе, Той ще изтреби тези народи пред тебе и ти ще ги завладееш; Иисус ще тръгне пред тебе, както Господ е казал. 4 (C)И ще постъпи Господ с тях така, както постъпи със Сихон и Ог, аморейските царе, и със страните им, които съсипа. 5 А когато Господ ги предаде на вас, и вие ще постъпите с тях според всички заповеди, които съм ви дал. 6 (D)Бъдете силни и храбри, не се бойте и не изпитвайте ужас от тях, защото Господ, твоят Бог, Сам ще тръгне с тебе; Той няма да отстъпи от тебе и няма да те изостави.“
7 (E)Тогава Мойсей повика Иисус и му рече пред цял Израил: „Бъди силен и храбър, защото ти ще влезеш с този народ в страната, за която Господ се е клел на предците им, че ще им я даде, и ти ще им я разделиш за наследство. 8 Сам Господ ще тръгне пред тебе, Той ще бъде с тебе, няма да отстъпи от тебе и няма да те изостави. Не се бой и не унивай!“
9 (F)(G)И Мойсей написа този закон и го предаде на свещениците, Левиевите потомци, които носеха ковчега на Господния завет, и на всички старейшини на Израил. 10 (H)Мойсей се обърна към тях и направи завещание: „В края на всяка седма година, в годината на опрощаването, през празника Шатри, 11 когато цял Израил се събира пред Господа, своя Бог, на мястото, което Той избере, чети на глас този закон пред всички израилтяни! 12 Събери народа – мъже, жени, деца и пришълците в твоите селища, за да слушат и да се научат да се боят от Господа, вашия Бог, и усърдно да изпълняват всички думи на този закон! 13 Нека синовете им, които не знаят, да чуят и да се научат да се боят от Господа, вашия Бог, през всички дни, докато живеете в страната, в която преминавате през Йордан, за да я завладеете!“
14 Тогава Господ каза на Мойсей: „Ето приближава краят на дните ти! Повикай Иисус и застанете в скинията на събранието, за да му дам Своите наставления.“ Мойсей и Иисус отидиха и застанаха в скинията на събранието. 15 И Господ се яви в скинията в облачен стълб; и облачният стълб застана при входа на скинията.
16 И Господ каза на Мойсей: „Ето ти скоро ще бъдеш положен при предците си, а този народ ще тръгне да блудства след чуждите богове на страната, в която ще отиде – ще Ме изостави и ще престъпи завета, който сключих с него. 17 И в онзи ден ще пламне гневът Ми против него и Аз ще ги изоставя, и ще скрия лицето Си от тях, и ще се превърнат в хищна плячка, много злини и скърби ще ги сполетят и ще се питат в онзи ден: ‘Не ни ли сполетя това зло, защото нашият Господ не е вече с нас?’ 18 Но в онзи ден Аз наистина ще скрия лицето Си от тях заради всичките злини, които са сторили, като са се обърнали към други богове.
19 А сега запишете си тази песен и научи израилтяните на нея; вложи я в устата им, за да ми бъде тази песен свидетелство против синовете на Израил. 20 (I)Защото Аз ще ви въведа в страната, където текат мляко и мед, както се клех на предците им, и те ще ядат до насита и ще се преситят; тогава ще се обърнат към други богове и ще им служат, а Мене ще отхвърлят и ще нарушат завета Ми. 21 И когато ги сполетят много злини и скърби, тази песен ще говори против тях като свидетел, защото ще бъде в устата на потомството им и няма да бъде забравена. Аз знам какви са техните помисли още отсега, преди да съм ги въвел в страната, за която им се клех.“ 22 И така, Мойсей записа тази песен в същия ден и научи израилтяните на нея.
23 (J)А Господ даде заръка на Иисус, Навиновия син, и му каза: „Бъди силен и храбър, защото ти ще въведеш синовете на Израил в страната, за която им се клех, и Аз ще бъда с тебе.“
24 И когато Мойсей написа в книга наредбите на този закон докрай, 25 заповяда на левитите, които носеха ковчега на Господния завет: 26 „Вземете тази книга на закона и я сложете до ковчега на завета на Господа, вашия Бог, за да бъде там свидетелство против вас. 27 Защото аз зная вашето упорство и твърдоглавието ви. Дори днес, когато съм още жив и съм сред вас, вие сте непокорни на Господа, а какви ли ще сте след смъртта ми! 28 (K)Съберете при мене всички старейшини на племената си и вашите надзорници, за да изрека пред тях тези думи и да призова против тях за свидетели небето и земята; 29 защото зная, че след смъртта ми вие ще се покварите и ще се отклоните от пътя, който ви завещах. И не след дълго ще ви сполетят злини, защото постъпвате нечестиво пред Господа и с делата си предизвиквате гнева Му.“
30 Тогава Мойсей изрече открай докрай, пред цялото събрание на Израил, думите на следната песен:

31 Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. 2 He said to them, “I am one hundred twenty years old today. I can no more go out and come in. Yahweh has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’ 3 Yahweh your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua will go over before you, as Yahweh has spoken. 4 Yahweh will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them. 5 Yahweh will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.”
7 Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which Yahweh has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it. 8 Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged.”
9 Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of booths, 11 when all Israel has come to appear before Yahweh your God in the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12 Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and the foreigners who are within your gates, that they may hear, learn, fear Yahweh your God, and observe to do all the words of this law, 13 and that their children, who have not known, may hear and learn to fear Yahweh your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”
14 Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.”
Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.
15 Yahweh appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood over the Tent’s door. 16 Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers. This people will rise up and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land where they go to be among them, and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them. 17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, ‘Haven’t these evils come on us because our God is not among us?’ 18 I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.
19 “Now therefore write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. 20 For when I have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant. 21 It will happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song will testify before them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants; for I know their ways and what they are doing today, before I have brought them into the land which I promised them.”
22 So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.
23 He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them. I will be with you.”
24 When Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, 25 Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, saying, 26 “Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of Yahweh your God’s covenant, that it may be there for a witness against you. 27 For I know your rebellion and your stiff neck. Behold, while I am yet alive with you today, you have been rebellious against Yahweh. How much more after my death? 28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them. 29 For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn away from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days, because you will do that which is evil in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.”
30 Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.

31 And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.
2 And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the Lord hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
3 The Lord thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the Lord hath said.
4 And the Lord shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed.
5 And the Lord shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.
6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
7 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

13 And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
14 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.
15 And the Lord appeared in the tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the tabernacle.
16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.
19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.
21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.
22 Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.
23 And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.
24 And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,
26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.
27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death?
28 Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.
29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
30 And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.
